Configuring mail message templates by Category
Hi all,
I am interested to know whether it is possible to set up different mail messages according to different business document attributes? In our case we would like to change the Contract Renewal Reminder message depending on the Category that the Master Agreement is assigned to.
Many thanks,

Hi Claire,
Within a Mail Configuration, for each Mail Type, there can only be one Mail Template tied to it. I'm afraid you have to use the same Mail Template for all the categories. System allows use of limited number of macros in the mail body, but I don't believe even those will help here.

Assigning new token to mail message template
Hi all
We are trying to put <%Vendor_Company Name%> token in RFx Invite template duplicate. However it is giving an error "Token not valid". Can there is a way by which this could be achieved?
Regards
Mudit SainiHi Tripti,
The only available tokens in the RFx Invite mail template are:
CURRENT_DUE_DATE The due date of the DA Document
DOCUMENT_HEADER_URL The reference to the vendors RFx Document
RFX_INTEND_TO_RESPOND_DATE The date the vendor must respond to this RFx by.
RFX_DUE_DATE The date the vendor must complete his RFx proposal by.
Apart from this there are global tokens available for all mail message templates.
These can be found in the RG - Mail Template Reference.
New/Custom tokens cannot be added.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2 server SharePoint farm.
All outgoing emails were working fine.
I just restarted both servers and now after that none of the emails are being sent. I am using OOB publishing workflow and it shows message:
The e-mail message could not be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.
Even if I setup Alert on some list, it doesn't send email.
I have checked that outgoing email setting in CA is defined and like I said it was working fine without problems but after restart it is showing error.
What could be the cause of this and how to fix it?
EDIT
I removed outgoing mail server in CA, added again and restart IIS but still emails from OOB workflow is not being sent. But email from Alerts are being sent. Don't know what to do now. This is really weird, It works when an alert is set but workflows doesn't send emails... Can you create a simple 1 Step workflow in SPD to send an email when a specific field is set. See if this sends an email..
AJ MCTS: SP 2010 Configuration MCSA: Windows 7 If you find this post useful kindly please mark it as an answer :) TY
I created a test workflow which sends email to user and it is also not sending email. But I am getting email from SharePoint regarding "variation" page changes as well as alerts which I told above. -
I got this problem when I tried to configure out-going email and add an account to farm administrator group.
I configure out-going email according to this website http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc288949.aspx
Here are the screen shots.
The SMTP server and email accounts work out OK when I use Outlook 2010 to test.
Anyone can help me about it? Thanks.
Here is the log.

The e-mail address I have tested it for several times and there is no problem.
Anyone has any clue about this error?Hi.
This I have seen before...
It can be that the SMTP relay server is configured to only allow certain IP ranges or addresses.
It can be that the firewall on the SP server does not allow for SMTP traffic (normally 25, for example for Exchange).
It can be that there is an Antivirus on the SP server(Client AV) that prohobits the Timer service to send email from this server. I have seen MacAfee do this. Needed an policy change.
If, its the builtin SMTP service you are using, check this link:
http://blog.sharepointrx.com/2010/11/18/setting-up-the-iis-smtp-server-for-sending-email-from-sharepoint-2010-on-server-2008-r2/
Check that and try again.

Hi,
I have SP 2013, and it was working properly. and workflows send emails perfectly. yesterday, i decided to build a fresh site collection so i deleted the old one and created a new one. now, workflows are unable to send emails. i'm sure it has nothing to do
with my mail server cuz no changes happened to it. i'm sure about the settings for outgoing mail on central admin. all i did, was to enter mail server IP in outgoing mail field and email below it.
in the workflow status the status says "error" followed by this message: "The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly."
Any help please?Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to send email after building a fresh site collection.
I recommend to verify that you have entered your SMTP server name correctly.
You can add it as FQDN e.g. ServerName.DomainName.

Configure Mail to have only the 50 last messages.
Is it possible to configure Mail to have only the 50 last messages, as it is on iPhone?
Thanks.Ok, thanks for the tip.
But It is not exactly what I want to do. Maybe it is not possible.
In th iPhone mail app, you can configure your imap acount to be synchronised with your mail sever loading only the 50th last messages, in order to save spaces in your iPhone. I am looking for this opotion on my macbook, for the same reason. -
Configured Mail in 10.4.11 to iCloud specifications and get error messages
Configured Mail in 10.4.11 to iCloud specifications and get error messages and still cannot send and receive. Get error messages, "does not recognize password" etc. Have working on Snow Leopard, iPhone iPad but not 10.4.11 PPC Mail. Any help? I used Apple support set up. I originally had a .mac account and have tried both [email protected] and xxx.me.com as username. I Upgraded my password to stronger suggested strength. (one cap and one letter minimum 8) I verified Keychain. I have even deleted everything including Keychain and account and started over numerous times, still no joy. Ports are incoming 993 and outgoing 587. Will not be upgrading this machine due to production software issues but was told I could stll use the .mac email
Any help here?
-ThanksGive the date there is another probable solution. Were you originally a MobileMe subscriber? If you weren't, then please ignore the rest of this post.
MobileMe subscribers who migrated to iCloud received complimentary extra storage up until September 30 2013. This has now expired. If you have less than 5GB data in iCloud then your storage simply reverts to 5GB.
However if you have more than 5GB data, Backup, Documents and Mail will stop working until you either delete sufficient data to bring you within 5GB or purchase additional storage. Possibly this is what has happened to your - you should have been sent an email about this.
For instructions on purchasing additional storage please see
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4874
For help in reducing your iCloud data please see
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4847
Your problem is that you cannot access iCloud to do this because you have no iCloud preference pane. Your only options are to use a compliant Mac (Lion or Mountain Lion) or an iOS5/6 device to purchase extra storage; or to go to http://icloud.com and delete as much as you can there (you may not be able to access this page on Tiger, but you would be able to do so from any more recent computer). -

Hi,
I have asynchronous scenario :
e-mail -> XI 3.0 - IDOC (R/3)
When received e-mail is not processed corectly I have to send an error e-mail message back to to supplier.
What is a simplest method to achieve this ?
Is it sufficient to use Fault Message Type (what else ?).
Thanks
MarianDear Marian Morzol,
Here are my clarification
1)
In Aravindh weblogs there is a example when execution time exceed some treshold value. However I need to raise alert when an error occurs in message processing. Do I understand it correctly when I suppose that category MONITORING and parameter CCMS_MONITORING with value 1 will rease an alert when the above error occurs ?
I suppose it based on documentation : "If you have monitoring switched on, any system and application errors that occur when processing an XML message within the Integration Engine are saved in the CCMS."
category MONITORING and parameter CCMS_MONITORING with value 1 will switch on CCMS and will not raise alert with the message fails. But for raising alerts during the configuring CCMS it is mandatory to switch on CCMS.
Once you configured CCMS , the inbuilt property of the CCMS will raise alert when a message fails or when the time for execution exceeds beyond a limit depending upon our configuration(as mentioned in my second and third blogs on CCMS).
1.Switch on CCMS (parameter CCMS_MONITORING with value 1)
2.Add the system (SID) and its client that needs to be monitored.
3.Go to RZ 20 .from the monitoring template availablr for Exchange Infrastructure , create a monitoring set for monitoring that system.
Once this is done CCMS is responsible for raising alerts when a message fails. We can then handle the alert raised with suitable auto reaction methods which in turn calls function modules or RFCs.
2)
In Aravindh series there is a fixed e-mail address ... I need to read supplier number from MessagePayload/ or original sender e-mail address and send message to this e-mail address. Based on Michal weblog I am able to write a supplier number to alert message. But how I can reach this text from any further (ABAP) program (method) ?
The recipients who should be informed about the failure of the message will be maintained in the auto reaction methods as well as the SAPCONNECT configuration.
There is nothing much u can do to dynamically choose the recipients. Becoz triggering E-Mail in CCMS is a configuration setting done once. There is no place to do business logic involved anywhere in the configuration as far as i know.
In simple terms , the entire process is just like connecting pipes of different shapes and size .You cant do anything when water is flowing inside. its all set.
"I need to send an e-mail to recipent e-mail read from XML which will be delivered to XI e-mail adapter in e-mail as an attachment.
Do you think it is possible to implement ?"
I think it is possible. Are you aware of the payloadswapbean---> itz a module provided by SAP , it will bring in the attachment as the payload and helps you to extract information from the attachment.
It is available in detail in How To Use the Mail
Adapter of the XI 3.0 J2EE Adapter Engine(Page no: 8,9,10).
Have a look and i feel it helps you.
really sorry for the late reply.

Sender Mail Adapter Error: exception caught during processing mail message;
HI , I am configuring mail to file scenario. Need to read mail content (no need to capture From,TO or Subject details) and create a file with the content in the mail.
Need to read mails from microsoft outlook. Exchange server has been configured for POP3 protocol.
Following are the details provoding in sender mail adapter:
URL: provided url in the format: pop://<server name>
Authentication method: plain
provided user credinetions to access mails.
poll interval - 1min
content encoding none.
processing parameters : quality of service-exactly once
Since there is no need to capture From,TO or Subject details, didn't select the option - use mail package.
Verified for unread mails in the mail box and made sure that there are few unread mails.
Also, created data types and other components in IR and completed mapping.
But after starting sender mail communication channel, getting error "exception caught during processing mail message; java.lang.NullPointerException" in RWB-adapter-communication channel monitoring.
please let me know what needs to be done to resolve this error.
Thanks.HI Stefan, i tried, but still it is giving same error. Yes, i am able to access outlook mail with the user credentials given in the communication channel to access exchange server.
I am using message protocol: xipayload . Also since i dont have to capture TO,from, subject details., created data type just with one element of type string, not in the standard format .Does this makes any difference. -
Hi, I would like to share with you issue that I’ve solved regarding mail-enabled PF that migrated from Exchange 2000/2003/2007 to 2010, I’ve searched & contacted my MVP leader – there’s no official KB regarding this issue right
now, so I’m posting here in order to share this among others.
Note: There’s article(s) that talked about PF replication from Exch2000/2003/2007 to 2010 – this is the same issue as well.
Symptoms
E-mail messages that been sent to mail-enabled public folder in Exchange Server 2010 environment rejected with the following NDR:
“#< #5.2.0 smtp;554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ObjectNotFoundException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The Active Directory user wasn’t found. ObjectNotFoundException: The Active Directory
user wasn’t found.> #SMTP#”
Sometimes Exchange Server 2010 is documented as well Event ID 1020 on the Event Viewer with this information:
“Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchange Store Driver
Event ID: 1020
Level: Error
Description:
The store driver couldn’t deliver the public folder replication message "Hierarchy ([email protected])" because the following error occurred: The Active Directory user wasn't found.”
Cause
In an environment where Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 previously existed, and all those servers have been removed, there is a chance that an Administrative Group (First Administrative Group or another custom Administrative
Group) remains with a Servers container, but no servers inside it.
During replication, when the Exchange 2010 Store Driver sees the empty Servers container in Active Directory, it's expecting a System Attendant object inside the container and when it is not found the error occurs.
Resolution
To work around the issue, delete the empty Servers container. This can't be done through Exchange System Manager. Use the ADSI Edit tool to remove it using the following steps:
Warning If you use the ADSI Edit snap-in, the LDP utility, or any other LDAP version 3 client, and you incorrectly modify the attributes of Active Directory objects, you can cause serious problems. These problems may require you to reinstall Microsoft Windows
2003 Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Exchange 2010 Server or both Windows and Exchange. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that occur if you incorrectly modify Active Directory object attributes can be solved. Modify these attributes
at your own risk.
1.
Start the ADSI Edit MMC Snap-in. Click Start, then
Run, and type adsiedit.msc, and then click OK.
2.
Connect & Expand the Configuration Container [YourServer.DNSDomainName.com], and then expand
CN=Configuration,DC=DNSDomainName,DC=com.
3.
Expand CN=Services, and then CN=Microsoft Exchange, and then expand
CN=YourOrganizationName.
4.
You will see an empty Administrative Group. Expand the
CN=YourAdministrativeGroupName.
5.
Expand CN=Servers.
6.
Verify there are no server objects listed under the
CN=Servers container.
7.
Right click on the empty CN=Servers container and choose
Delete.
8.
Verify the modification, and try to send again the E-mail to the mail-enabled public folder.

| E-mail: [email protected]Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.
You may find the following article also helpful for this issue which is the same resolution:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2012/05/17/empty-cn-servers-container-causing-issues-with-public-folders-on-small-business-server-2011.aspx
I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:

I'm using Apple Mail 2.1.3 on a MacBook running OS 10.4.11. A very strange thing is happening. E-mail messages that I either sent or received months ago are showing up in my mailbox and receivers' mailboxes. In one case, a message someone had sent to me wound up in the mailbox of a third person, who was not included in the address list!! I have only two accounts, and have checked everything; only one account is showing the repeats Now, that account is my professional account, and it resides in three places: I use it on the laptop described here, I use it through Apple Mail on the much newer desktop Mac in my office, and I can run it through Web mail on my employer's server, which is where the professional account resides (I have a mailbox there, etc.) That program is called Zimbra.
My personal account is with Earthlink and is not doing the repeats. I access it either through my MacBook's Apple Mail or the Web; the Apple Mail on my office Mac is not configured to access the Earthlink server.
What IS going on here?? My friends, colleagues, and students (I teach college) are mystified by these ancient messages.

How do I keep Mail messages from vanishing?
I don't use iCloud for much, but I have sent a few Mail messages from my iPad (iCloud address) and I have received a few at that address that I need to be able to view on my Mac and to have available for viewing on my iPad. The received messages consistently disappear after a few weeks. The most recent one that I forwarded to my iCloud address from my desktop machine appeared in the list of messages (already a very short list due to the vanishing act) for a nanosecond when I first opened Mail on my iPad, and then vanished. Only a single message is still there out of maybe a dozen messages that ought to be there.
The iPad is running the most recent iOS version. I use Snow Leopard most of the time on my Mac, but I boot into Mountain Lion when I have to: I sync the iPad in Mountain Lion. I access iCloud through my browser when I'm in Snow Leopard.
What do I have to set or change to make iCloud e-mail at least minimally useful? I've looked at the settings, and don't see anything obvious. My regular e-mail accounts are configured to never automatically be deleted from the server, but I don't see a way to do that with iCloud mail.Ok, just discovered it only does this in split-keyboard mode.
