Configuring Scheduler and Delivers

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help identify what I'm missing configuring scheduler and delivers.
I've followed the manual instructions and several non oracle instructions as recommended in this forum:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/b31765.pdf
http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2008/08/obiee-configuring-configuring-scheduler.html
I'm installing scheduler on a remote unix system. I am using an existing BI Answers install.
Settings I have used are as follows:
Database tables created as per manual
Setup Database User
Username     S_NQ_SCHED
Password     SCHED_XXXX
Setup instanceConfig.xml
ServerName     <ScheduleServer>xxxxx</ScheduleServer>
CredentialStore     <CredentialStorage type="file" path="/OracleBIData/web/config/credentialstore.xml" passphrase="secret"/>
file location     \OracleBIData\web\config
Setup credentialstore.xml
Alias     admin
Username     SchedulerAdmin
Password     SchedulerAdmin
passphrase     secret
file location     cryptotools credstore -add -infile /OracleBIData/web/config/credentialstore.xml
Configure Scheduler
Scheduler Database Configuration
Database type     Oracle 10g R2
Call interface     OCI 10g
Data Source Name     aaaa10
Username     sa2
Password     xxxx
Scheduler General Configuration
Administrator name     administrator
Administrator password     xxxxxx10
Mail General Configuration
Sender address     [email protected]
SMTP Server     mailhost
file location     /oracle/product/OracleBI/setup
     . sa-init.sh
     schconfig
I am logging into BI Answers using username: administrator and password: xxxxxx10
When I try to save an iBot I get the following error:
Oracle BI Scheduler Error: [nQSError: 68019] Authentication Failed.
Error Details
Error Codes: GYFPI8RN
I've now tried several combinations of usernames and passwords in the config files but either get the above error or:
Oracle BI Scheduler Error: [nQSError: 12008] Unable to connect to port 9705 on machine walter. [nQSError: 12010] Communication error connecting to remote end point: address = walter; port = 9705. [nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=: (Number=-1) Unknown error
Error Details
Error Codes: GYFPI8RN
I'm not sure whether I've got the link between the usernames wrong or if there is something external to the above configurations I need to correct.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Mark

Somu,
Thank you for the link, a lot of useful comments there.
I saw one from Gagan:
One important thing to note is that the user mentioned during cryptotool setup should exist in the RPD and the password should be the password for the user
ID in RPD.I was wondering about that so I have created a new user using Admin tool:
SchedulerAdmin
I have given this user membership of admin and scheduler groups
I reran cryptotools using
Alias     admin
Username     SchedulerAdmin
Password     SchedulerAdmin
and changed settings in schconfig
Scheduler Database Configuration
Username     S_NQ_SCHED
Password     SCHED_PASS
Scheduler General Configuration
Administrator name     SchedulerAdmin
Administrator password     SchedulerAdmin
Now I get the following errors:
in BI Answers when trying to save an iBot:

  • Forecast delivery schedules and JIT deliveries

    Hi Gurus,
Got a question on sales scheduling agreements schedule lines. Our customer sends 10 weeks of forecast delivery schedules and 2 weeks of JIT deliveries. which one of these two are passed to MD04?
Assuming only forecast delivery schedules are seen in MD04:
Assuming customer sends forecast delivery schedule for week2 as 50. but in JIT deliveries he only sent 40 for that week. if only forecast deliveries are see in md04, then my forecast and planning quantity is 50 , but actually my JIT delivery is only 40.  AM I  producing 10 extra? that  means my planning is wrong?

    925,
so in system it will show on 3/21 monday
I guess this means that you are entering using a Day format rather than Week format.
You have answered you own question already.  If the online SAP help, which you have read and reasonably paraphrased, is not clear enough to make you understand this, I cannot help you.
JIT horizon is 3/23, Forecast is for 3/21.
As I stated before, even though it may in your mind represent a week's demand, it is still for one day.  There is no bucketing, nor time-based disaggregation, nor consumption.  It is just a scheduling agreement.
    You wrote
am using MRP indicator D. that means within jit horizon, consider my jit quanity for requirements. and after jit horizon consider my forecast delivery schedules as requirements.
.  This is a reasonable paraphrase of the SAP online help.  Do you believe this?
Forecast schedule is for 3/21.  NOT for W 12/2011.  This is before the JIT horizon, isn't it?  What do you think will happen to the forecast schedule, looking at the last 'rules' you just wrote? and as stated in the SAP help that you read?
Now you want to enter JIT schedules. 21/22/23/24/25/26.  JIT horizon is 23.  24/25/26 are after JIT horizon.  What do you think will happen, based on the 'rules' you just wrote?
I feel my time is being wasted when you keep asking me these questions, already having the answers explicitly stated in SAP oinline help.  Since you do not have access to a system, this cannot be a support issue, it is a evidently a matter of idle curiosity for you.  I therefore believe I will will move onto other forum questions, where there is a possibility that the questioners will get some business benefit from my answers.

  • BI Schedule and Presenation Server on Different Servers Configuration

I'm having a problem getting my iBots to run and deliver the information to the catalog with the following configuration:
2 Presentation Servers on Windows with IIS for NTLM authentication (via a Load Balancer)
OBIEE Server and Scheduler, and Presenation Server on Solaris (the Presentation Server on Solaris will be turned off)
The catalog between the 2 Windows Servers are are shared. When I create an iBot on the Windows the request is sent to the Scheduler on Solaris and errors out with the following message:
[nQSError: 77006] Oracle BI Presentation Server Error: A fatal error occurred while processing the request. The server responded with: Path not found (
    /shared/_ibots/Test Email from UAT)^M
    Error Codes: U9KP7Q94^M
My question is why does the scheduler send the alert to the Presentation Server on the Solaris box and not the shared Presentation Server with the shared catalog on the Windows Servers. Am I missing something in the configuration?
    Thanks,
    Chuck

I figured it out. I had to re-run the schconfig utility on UNIX and reconfigured the server from localhost:9710 to the actual server name.

  • Configuring Scheduler only on single node in a clustered environment

    Friends,
I have OIM 11gr2 environment in clustered mode with 6 nodes in it.
As per my client requirement, I need to configure scheduler only on one node and No on all other nodes. So, all schedule jobs OOTB and custom jobs should run only on one node.
What is the process for this?

  • Scheduling and external scheduling in plant maintenance

    hi expert ,
can you explain the scheduling in plant maintenance step by step beside external scheduling and how to made the external scheduling in IDS system also i read the sap help links about external scheduling and add the external scheduling in the order type pm01 and add the:
Function Module PM_ORDER_EXTERN_SCHED_DIALOG in Configure Communication in the (D: For scheduling in dialog with external scheduling) should be dialog box Scheduling agreement appears after the order has been scheduled and this is not appear and information message (Link to the scheduling system could not be built) is appear.
    is any configuration missing.
    thanks sadin

    Hi,
I understand you want to practice in IDES.  But to work with external scheduling you need a third party system that performs the scheduling. The idea of this type of scheduling is that the SAP ERP system interfaces with this other system (for example Click Software). It is this interfaced system that calculates the scheduling dates and passes them back to SAP.
Without such a third party system you cannot perform external scheduling. You error does indicate that it cannot communicate with such a system:

  • OS X 10.4.11 Server - configured name and reverse DNS do not match / DNS

    Hi all,
I have looked for similar posts but all seem to have different scenarios, hoping to get an answer from someone more experienced than myself before I do anything silly.
    Help much appreciated!
    Scenario:
We run a 10.4.11 OS X Server on an XServe, hosted at an ISP. ISP provides all DNS services, incl. the reversed DNS entry.
I am currently only running the following services (based on the display in ServerAdmin):
    AFP
    Firewall
    iChat
    Mail
    QuickTimeStreaming
    Web
All others (incl. DNS) are grayed out. (As ISP instructed us not to add a DNS service on our box, that's "normal" according to my experiences with dedicated /co-location server hosting).
We never used changeip after the initial setup, meaning the server's
    Current Hostname = somename.local and
    DNS Hostname = mail.ourdomainname.net
So in system.log I find this re-occuring entry:
Jul 8 11:41:22 somename servermgrd: servermgr_dns: configured name and reverse DNS name do not match (somename.local != mail.ourdomainname.net), various services may not function properly - use changeip to repair and/or correct DNS
    Finally, my question:
As Mail and Web services etc. are currently running OK from what I can tell,
    1) do I HAVE to change this at all?
    2) Would it be much better / why?
    3) Could I change this using the following command
(111.11.111.1 indicating the server's IP address)
    changeip 111.11.111.1 111.11.111.1 somename.local mail.ourdomainname.net
    4) without running a DNS server on the machine, i.e. DNS service is not required for this to work?
    5) obviously I want to be able to use Server Admin after I issue this command...
    6) can I fall back easily in case this would screw it up, or is there no risk whatsoever doing this in my case?
THANK YOU so much for any help!

    Hi Jonas
If port 443 is already being used on the same box as KMS then it will complain and probably not start the service? I've seen this with LDAP port 636. This is when Kerio is installed on a server configured as an OD Master. Clearly the port can't be used by both servers.
It might be easier to change the port your sites are currently using to something else? Although don't do anything yet. Pose the question to Kerio Support and see what advice they offer.
Yes moving the mail to a local folder on the mail client will do it.
Is Kerio going on the same box? If its a different box (presumably different IP address?) Then what you can do is to port forward to the new server's IP address instead of disabling it. This way while you are bringing the new server on line users can still send mail right up until the time you give instructions on changing their inbound/outbound mail server details. Of course they won't be able to receive but if you time it right they may not even get an error message? Depends on what their schedules are.
If it was me I would choose IMAP every time. As the mail admin you have full control and a central location for easy backup. KMS has a built in archiving feature that makes this a simple process. This is an easier option than going round individual client machines and making sure mail held locally in POP accounts are backed up. Besides there is always someone who falls through the loop and I'm not taking into account drive failures. It makes good sense anyway as there is talk of legislation being introduced to make this a requirement for businesses who run their own mail servers. This is certainly true for certain parts of the US and what usually happens there is generally taken up in the UK and most parts of Europe.
Kerio's WebMail Client means users don't even have to have their own computer. Just as long as they have access to one that has access to the internet they can send/receive mail. No need for dedicated mail applications such as Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Entourage etc. How mail is uses remains consistent for all users.
Yes. I did this not so long ago with Leopard's built in Mail Server. I sent an e-mail defining a time when no inbound mail would be received. Disabled port forwarding for SMTP port 25 and approx 30 minutes after that another mail stating no outbound mail should be sent. Once everything was swopped over (we were changing from a G4 10.4 server to a G5 10.5 Server) port 25 was enabled, new server brought online and everyone was mailing again with no appreciable downtime.
These boxes were to have the same IP address hence the slightly different approach.
    Does this help?

  • Scheduling and Throttling on SCCM 2012 R2 DPs

I read in a book that scheduling and throttling are only available on site systems with ONLY the DP site role installed. Does this mean that if I install the DP AND the SUP role on a server, then scheduling and throttling will NOT be available for the DP
    role?
How about if I setup a Secondary Site that has the MP and the DP role installed, will scheduling and throttling NOT be available for this scenario either?
Here is the excerpt from the book I am reading, titled "Mastering System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager" (from chapter 2: "Planning a Configuration Manager Infrastructure", page 42):
Scheduling and throttling are available only on site systems with only the distribution point site role installed.
Thanks for any insight someone can offer

    I think it's misinterpreted.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712321.aspx#BKMK_PlanningForThrottling
    From Technet : The Rate
    Limits and Schedule tabs
are displayed only in the properties for distribution points that are not installed on a site server.
That means that you cannot throttle on a Primary acting also as a DP.
Having SUP and DP will give you the option to throttle because it's not a "Site Server".
To know more about Site Server :
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682106.aspx
    Site server
A computer from which you run Configuration Manager Setup and that provides the core functionality for the site.

  • Screen exit in MM01(VIEWS : Purchasing, MRP1, Work Scheduling, and Costing)

    Hi All,
I have one requirement like I need to add one custom field in all views where the Plant-specific material status is available. i. e Views names are: Purchasing, MRP1, Work Scheduling, and Costing 1.
The location of the new custom field is below the section that contains the Plant-Specific material status field. in above Views.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Amjad.

    Hi,
Adding customer fields to MM01 screens involves customising.
Go To SPRO>Logistics General->Configuring the Material Master.
Here you will find a step-by-step guide with an example in the documentation as to how to add field on a screen on the Material Master.

  • How to Schedule and then mail to Destination

pls tell me the procedure or code or steps to schedule and when report executed sucessfully then mail to destination
i am using 10g application Server
    thanks
    Jai

For the mail element to work properly, the Reports Server must know which outgoing SMTP mail server to send mail to. You specify this information in the Reports Server configuration file (server_name.conf located in ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf). This file has a pluginParam element where you can enter the name of a mail server. For example:
    <pluginParam name=mailServer>smtp01.mycorp.com</pluginParam>

  • Work Schedules and CATS

    Good day,
I was wondering if anyone out there has modified the CATS screen to allow the changing of Work Schedules ?
What I am getting at is that an employees line manager can, via the CATS screen, change the employees Work schedule and then when running TCode CAT6 the change will update the employees IT0007 record ?
I worked on a project years ago at a client in Oxford, UK where this was done so I know it can be done .
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi
Use additinal fields for assigning the WS rule which can be eddited. All the WS rules configured should come in the list.
Then select what is required and then ask the developer to trigger the program when the save button is hit and this will update IT0007 with New WS rule.
Please see the impact on the time management when the WS rule gets updated.

  • Scheduling agreement Fcst del schedules and JIT question

We have a requirement of not sending forecast delivery schedules TOR to MRP from SA.
Instead, we take this forecast delivery schedules and massage the data (add or delete) and then send it to MRP as regular forecast (PIR).
so when the JIT schedules come, does the forecast get consumed with the JIT's in MD04?
lets say, I got 100 pc for 2nd week of July 2011 as forecast delivery schedule from customer and I loaded them into MRP as PIR
and I got JIT for only 90 PC for the 2nd week of july 2011.in MD04 will the 90 get consumed from the PIR??

  • Difference between Scheduling agreement delivery schedule and PO delivery s

    Dear All,
Please tell the difference between the Scheduling agreement delivey schedule and PO delivery schdule.
In PO itself, we can give the delivery schedule.
Then what is the purpose of making scheduling agreement and maintain schedule in ME38?
    Regards

    Hi,
Difference between Scheduling agreement and PO is while PO is a legal document whatever the delivery schedules you mention in PO, you are liable to pay for the entire qty in case of cancellation
In case of scheduling agreement, we have Firm Zone and Tradeoff Zone to provide some cushion against paying for the entire qty you have ordered
    Firm zone: (go-ahead for production)
If the date of a schedule line lies within the firm zone, the vendor has the go-ahead to produce the relevant quantity with the assurance that the orderer will bear any and all material and production costs associated with the scheduled quantity in the event of subsequent cancellation by the latter.
Trade-off zone: (go-ahead for procurement of input materials)
If the date of a schedule line lies within the trade-off zone, the vendor has the go-ahead to purchase any input materials necessary to produce the scheduled quantity. The orderer will recompense him in full for such outlay (but not for any other production costs) in the event that he should subsequently cancel the scheduled quantity.
Schedule lines that lie beyond the firm and trade-off zones fall within the planning zone (forecast zone) and are for rough guidance only, being without any commitment on the part of the orderer.
In case of PO if you want to cancel the order, you are liable to pay for the entire quantity, while in case of Scheduling agreement if you want to cancel the schedule and if the days fall in Firm zone or trade off zone or planning zone you have to pay only for raw materials or assembled products according to the above description

I want to know for which delivery schedule line which multiple GRN's Prepared.I have searched EKBE table, (no delivery schedule line reference is given), also EKBEH, EKETH , but no records found.
From EKET Table I can get Scheduled Qty.and Delivered Qty. but not multiple GRN Qty for that schedule line.
    Please help to give solution.

Thank you charlie for quick response.
Tried to run ME2N and selected GR line number and Del Sch , But system showing no entries found for 1st GRN line.
When selected second line and Del schedule, System gives message " Pl select valid line.
I want to develop a program for report on mismatch in delivery schedule and actual delivery date ( GRN Date).
Please let me know if there is any table from where i can get the dates of GRN creation according to delivery schedule line.
    Thanks
