Conflict in planning workbench

Hello,
Our purchasers are using WWP2 as their primary tool for purchasing and after an upgrade from 46C to ECC6 they have run into some problem.
In the Material Selection part of WWP2 selection screen the field Delivery date have appeared with some new functionallity. If the planner does not enter a date in the field he/she is not able to purchase new articles, ie articles listed from a future date. In principle that is correct behaviour from the systems point of view.
And if the planner do enter a date in the delivery date field and tries to order outside the planning cycle entered in the article master those articles are not displayed in the application.
So basically I have two needs and the solution to my first need blocks the solution for my second, and vice versa.
Are there any ways I can configure the system to enable both purchasing of "News" AND purchasing outside of the planning cycles of an article?

No you cannot do that. You have to file an enhancement request with clear requirement.
Anyways what you want to do in that new tab?

    Item ATT.BVL3AHY is a new item without any demand. At item master, it is set as Planned so it is collected by ASCP. The item can be found in msc.msc_system_items with Plan_id -1. Plan id -1 corresponds to Collection. Planner needs to manuallty add planned order for this item at ASCP workbench of plan WIRELINE (PLAN_ID 3002) as attached but as the item cannot be found in WIRELINE plan, planner cannot add it. Please let me know how to make this item show in WIRELINE Plan workbench.

    Run this query:
    select mrp_planning_code from msc_system_items where item_name like '<Item_Name>' and organization_id = <Org id> and plan_id = -1
    If this returns 7 you dont need to run any collections.
    If this returns other than 7 then,
    create a simulation set under Item Attributes Mass Maintenance and then update the attribute MRP Planning method for this item to MRP/MPP Planning. Assign Simulation set to plan name and then rerun the plan. It should work.
    If you are still facing an issue, then raise an SR with Oracle.

    When I start planning workbench in RSPLAN, the following error appears:

    We filled group "PUBLIC" for template installer and it went through with all green lights including BI IP required 4 JCO desitinations.
    but after having a look at the following threads  Re: BIP in 2004s, I notice the following sentence: "3. Logon Group - Make sure logon group is specified in ABAP system (SMLG)", when I go to SMLG, only one record with empty logon group exists, but the status is green.
    Shall I maintain anything in SMLG? create "public" group in SMLG?

    I have already followed points with 919850, and our basis already setup SLD (for bw system in SLD, he setup two logon group: SPACE(default) and PUBLIC).
    After I maintain logon group "PUBLIC" in SMLG, and then re-execute the step 14 (maintain 4 BI IP JCO destinations), 4 JCO destination appears with green lights again afterwards.
    However, now the internl error 500 appears in the web.
    any more suggestion?

  • Display/Change/Delete of planning object not working in BPS

    Hi Guys
    While displaying or changing object in planning workbench, system is taking too long to process the request and request doesn't completes even in hours. The following operations are not working
    1. Delete Planning Area/Level.
    2. Display/Change planning Level.
    3. Display/Change Planning Layout.
    4. When clicking on Variable Tab of infoarea.
    5. When clicking on Set variable button.
    In all of the above mentioned cases System displays a message "Generating Environment" and it runs for indefinite time.All this is ha0

    Thanks for info. i know that it will take some time to regenerate the BPS classes after making changes in cube but in my system its taking at least half an hour which i think is too much.....i don't think that its normal behaviour of system...

  • SEM Planning functions (Already checked the BPS Forum)

    We installed BW 3.5 which I now see the BW-BPS planning functions.
    Then we installed SEM 4.0 and I see another BPS menu item.
    Does the BPS0 transaction now contain all the SEM planning functions or just those limited to BW-BPS.

    You would be able to see the additional Planning Functions one you are using the Planning Workbench(BPS0).
    When using the Planning functionality in this transaction, you would be able to use the additional Planning functions that come as part of SEM.

  • Expired Lot quantity incorrect in MRP Planner Workbench

    Hello,
    We have an issue with Expired Lots in the planer workbench.
    - We have an Expired Lot of material in quantity 5000 pcs.
    - In MRP, the system should create an "Expired Lot" demand of 5000 pcs to net out the expired lot quantity from the beginning on hand.
    - But, MRP creates an "Expired Lot" demand for only 4988 pcs.
    Has anyone seen this behavior before?
    Can anyone explain the logic of why the "Expired Lot" demand is only 4988 when the actual lot quantity is 5000?
    Or, am I facing another bug?
    Appreciate an advice.

  • Marketing Plans & Campaigns

    I am a BW developer and have a project to work with CRM to build the Marketing Plans & Campaigns.  I have some experience with BPS, so I think I can work with this piece of it also.  However, the first problem I am having is when I go thru the following in CRM:
    SPRO->Marketing Planning and Campaign Management->Key Figure Planning
    The problem I have from this point is when trying to go into Planning Workbench or Define Key Figures. 
    When I try Planning Workbench, I get an error "Access via NULL object reference not possible." 
    When I try Define Key Figures, I get "You are not authorized to use Transaction UMK_MB"
    When I do an SU53 for both of these, it shows all authorization checks were successful.  So I am thinking there may be a problem with the BW to CRM connection.  However, we have another CRM project that I am not having any problem with.
    My next question is how does BPS play into the Marketing Campaigns?  I thought all the planning happens in CRM, so why can't I just pull the results into the BW InfoCube, instead of going thru BPS.
    Any info about anything to do with this, would be greatly appreciated.

    Also please check if you have made the below customizing in CRM for BI :
    BI Update flag: Marketing --> Marketing Planning and Campaign Management --> System Landscape --> Activate BI Update.
    RFC Connection to BI: RFC connection to the BI system in Customizing by choosing Marketing
    -> Marketing Planning and Campaign Management --> System Landscape --> Define RFC Connection
    Also please make sure that user assigned to the system is a dialog user and the user has the required planning authorizations.

    Hi gurus,
    All below are ATP/CTP Based on Planning Data:
    1)Implications of enabling ATP(Enable ATP check box) in while running plan and not enabling ATP check box.?
    2)I am running a Plan with ATP enabled, what benefits we get if i run with 24x7 ATP and what benefits we get if without 24x7 ATP. Basically would like to know the functionality of 24x7 ATP.
    3)Have set up plan without ATP,
    After plan run if i create new sales order will it be shown in planning workbench?
    If it is not showing up what could be the reason.
    When this new sales order is expected to be shown as Majenta color in planning workbench.
    4)After plan run if my new sales order ATP to get occurate(Supply/Demand) data from planning output, what are all necessary setups i have to do (May be simple typical setup)?
    Otherway around: what are all the necessary steps and concurrent programs to be done in order get current supply/demand picture.

    Do want to use priority based on demand class? The prioritization of ASCP is diffrent from demand class prioritization. You will need to have a customization to assign demand class based prioity and update the demand lines to respect it by ASCP .
    Please try to use Allocated ATP . The use allocated ATP profile needs to be set to yes. There should be proper allcoation rule also setup based on demand class. But you cannot guarantee that the ASCP and ATP will be in sync

  • Exceute Planning Function in IP

    Hi,
    Is there a way to directly execute a planning function in IP without calling it from layout as it is BPS.
    I have a function which copies data from actual cube to plan cube. This function is to be executed once in a while.
    What is best approach to execute this function can I execute it directly from planning workbench or to call it from the layout is the only option.

  • How planning strategy 50 works?

    Hello
    For one finished goods, I set it's planning stratety as 50, create it's BOM with two component, and set component's planning stratety as 10.
    As planning stratety 50 features, before sales order of finished goods dropping, assembly stock should be ready, so, if we can understand in this way, when sales order is dropping, and MRP running:
    for finished goods, planned order for finished goods is generated and reduce original VP planned order;
    for assembly, suppose there is no dependent requirement generated. But in my testing case, stock of assembly is enough, but dependent requirement is also generated. It's conflict with planning stratety 50.
    I think maybe I made a wrong setting for assembly in material master, I set assembly's planning strategy as 10.
    Who can help me to fix this issue? I want a result that when assembly stock is enough, no dependent requirement generated for assembly.

    With planning strategy 50 u will get a planned order for Fg when MRp is run but this planned order is not convertible. The planned orders for SFG can be converted if u have setting in MRp 4 view - ind/coll reqt as 2.
    Only when a Sales order comes then the VP planned order qty gets reduced by the sales order qty and another plnd order created for the sales order qty which can be connverted and FG stocked to Warehouse.
    Also, if u maintain Plng strategy for FG as 50 and for child 30 , FG plng strategy takes precedence even though u have specified plng strategy for child.So the plng strategy for the product is 50 only.

    We're planning to generate report based on Rolling Gross requirements as per (snapshot data on ASCP workbench).
    The Rolling Gross Requirements need to be shown for 12 weeks or 12 months as part of report.
    This is very challenging requirement, Can you please help me find (Any data points) how Oracle is currently retrieving snapshot dara for horizontal plan?
    We need to display (gross requirements) report data for 12 weeks (bucket) and 12 months (buckets) by each demand (Beginning on hand, purchase orders, requisitions, In Transit, In Receiving).
    I've reviewed package (MSC_HORIZONTAL_PLAN_SC) but It doesn't help me much in (understanding/getting) snapshot data.
    In MSC_HORIZONTAL_PLAN_SC package, there is a cursor (MRP_SNAPSHOT_ACTIVITY).
    The snapshot can be viewed on ASCP workbench in R12.1.3 with following steps
    1. Advanced Supply Chain Planner (ASCP) super user Responsibility
    2. Nav: Supply Chain Plan -> Workbench
    3. Select a Plan
    4. Go to Supply/Demand
    5. Select a record (Criteria:Supplier; Condition: equals ; From: <Supplier_Name>) and click Find button
    6. Right-click -> Horizontal Plan
    7. For each item, Rows shows [sales orders, Forecast, Dependent demand, Gross Requirements, Work orders, Purchase orders] and columns show [weekly and daily dates]

  • Launch Supply Chain Plan

    Hi All:
    I am using Advanced Supply Chain Planning tool in conjunction with Oracle Process Manufacturing for material & resource level planning. As part of the process I did all the needed setups and got to the point of Running the Supply Chain Planning Process. However After I launch the process, the parent process has triggered a bunch of child concurrent requests in the background. And I have been stuck with the concurrent requests running forever in the last 8 hours without completion. The status is "normal" and "running" for all concurrent requests..

    Hi,
    for what I saw many reasons can cause this kind of stuck.
    1) Check if there are some locks on the MSC tables, maybe is the reason why it does not go through.
    Usually the concurrent (I suppose you are stuck at the memory based snapshot) creates a BIG log file. Check if the log file goes on.
    2) Once the Snapshot was incredibly slow due to some loop in the BOM. Since you are working on process manufacturing the loop should be in the recipe. You should see if there is a loop in the log.
    3) Stop the concurrent if he goes beyond any acceptable time and try to create a very small plan, with just few item, a week of planning time and one demand. Try to use some dummy supersimple data. If the plan goes fine it means that probably you have some issues on the data you feed the system. (i.e. Loop or too much things).
    4) I am not sure if this apply but maybe you have some sort of limitation on the maximum number of concurrent that can run simultaneously. We had something similar and if I well remember some concurrents where waiting for other to finish but the others could not start do to a limitation on the maximum concurrent. (check in sysadmin for this).

    Please let me know if there is a plan option to increase the horizontal plan bucket from X weeks to Y weeks and if there is no data after certain weeks we would lilke to display as 0
    Also if we want to display a column UOM from purchase agreement next to item name and description in horizontal plan (workbench navigation pane) ,how can we achieve that functionality?
