  • Internet Connect Consistently Hangs On Startup

Anytime the computer is shut down and has to be restarted, Internet Connect always hangs without fail. It appears to actually connect, but quickly thereafter, I get the prompt that tells me that it's unexpectedly quit. When I try again, I'm successful. All disconnects and connections thereafter work until I shut my computer down and have to restart.
I've gone so far as to reinstall from the DVD, backing up, and selectively reinstalling third party apps, but the problem persists. Anyone else encountering this problem, which came bundled with my new 20" G5 iMac and Tiger?

    Hi, WildBill —
I hope you'll forgive if it takes me a moment to get acquainted. It's been a long time since I used Internet Connect.
How are you using it — Bluetooth, AirPort, PPoE, VPN, etc.? (I'm wondering whether something like a signal delay or connection problem may factor in to the behavior...)
Have you tried logging in to a temporary, "test" user account (with administrative privileges) in an effort to determine whether the problem is restriced to your user account or system-wide? This and other general troubleshooting tactics are described in KnowledgeBase Article Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue.
When you say "I get the prompt that tells me that it's unexpectedly quit" —are we talking about the application actually "crashing" ?  If so, have you used Console to look in ~/Library/Logs/ for an Internet Connect.crash.log? This may help to identify the specific sequence that's causing the problem.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
    Hope this helps... and
    Good luck!
    Dean

  • Connection Pool hangs

    Hello,
We have a strange problem with Oracle Connetion pool on IAS 10.1.3.1.0.
Sometimes (for example once a week, sometimes one a month) connection pool hangs. Enterprise Manager / Connection pool monitor page shows information about threads waiting for connection (see below) and users are unable to work with application.
    Connections In Use                1
    Free Connections                13
    Total Connections in Pool           14
    Threads Waiting for Connections      534
WebApp installed on IAS is a simple Toplink based application. There are no strange messages in error logs, so why connection pool is unable to assign free connection to user ?
    Thanks in advance
    Tom

    Hello,
Thanks for response. I will try if it is possible to test connection from AS control during next connection pool crash. BTW we must check if this situation is not caused by operation system (Linux) swapping process.

  • TP CONNECT SID got error

    Dear Gurus,
    Please help ...
when i had configure STMS in My newly installed SAP NW 7.0 with EHP 1 for BI DEV & QAS. DEV is my domain controller. when i try to connect SID using command TP CONNECT <SID> it shows errors as per below.
    BIQAS:biqadm 3> tp connect BIQ
This is tp version 372.04.40 (release 701, unicode enabled)
    E-TPSETTINGS could not be opened.
    EXIT
ERROR: System : Parameter SAPEVTPATH not set. Batch jobs cannot be started.
Error in TPSETTINGS: transdir not set.
    tp returncode summary:
TOOLS: Highest return code of single steps was: 0
ERRORS: Highest tp internal error was: 0208
tp finished with return code: 208
    meaning:
error in transportprofil (param missing, unknown,...)
Actually i had set set SAPEVTPATH parameter in TPPRARAM but it show same.
    Please do the needful.
    Thanks in advance.
    Nitin Patel

    Hi Nitin,
First, I would suggest that you check your version of TP.  It may need
    to be updated.
Second, the solution for this problem is provided in the SDN:
    Re: TP Command Error
Kindly ensure that you have set transdir (parameter DIR_TRANS) and
SETEVTPATH properly. This needs to be set in the profile.
Also please note that for all imports you need to specify on
    TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL.
TPPARAM was an old usage and from 4.7 it has been converted to
    TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL.
Also please check the TPPARAM file if the sapevtpath and transdir
    variable have been set correctly.
It would usually be something like:
    <SID>/sapevtpath = /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/sapevt
    TRANSDIR = /usr/sap/trans
Please also carefully review the following notes:
Note 556734 - FAQ Transport: Setup and further information
       Note 97993  - Central NT/UNIX transport directory
Note 62739 - Configuring a central transport host
The SAPEVTPATH parameter must point directly to the sapevt executable.

  • Face time says connecting then hangs up

face time says connecting then hangs up

    Good Afternon b1harlem,
The resource below will provide some steps to try if FaceTime is not working properly on your Mac.
FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203585
FaceTime is available for Macs running Mac OS X Snow Leopard v10.6.6 or later, iPod touch (4th generation) or later, iPhone 4 or later, and iPad 2 or later (including iPad mini).
    Notes
FaceTime may not be available in all countries or regions.
For information about using FaceTime on a Mac, see FaceTime Support.
For troubleshooting FaceTime on iOS Devices (iPod touch (4th generation) or later, iPhone 4 or later, iPad 2 or later and iPad mini), see iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime
Verify your Mac meets the FaceTime system requirements
To participate in video calls, your Mac needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Lion or Mac OS X v10.6.6 (or later) with all available security updates installed. For Mac OS X v10.6.6 or later, the FaceTime App needs to be purchased from the Mac App Store. OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion include FaceTime.
A 128-Kbps or better upstream and downstream Internet connection. Performance may vary according to network throughput and usage.
A built-in FaceTime camera, an iSight camera (built-in or external), a USB video class (UVC) camera, or a FireWire DV camcorder.
Making HD video calls requires a built-in FaceTime HD camera and a 1-Mbps upstream and downstream Internet connection.
Receiving HD video calls requires a supported Intel-based Mac. For a complete list, see this article.
    A microphone.
You can use a built-in microphone, or connect an external microphone to your computer’s audio input port.
You can use compatible Bluetooth or USB microphone or headsets.
If you have multiple cameras or microphones attached to your computer, use the Video menu to select the camera or microphone you wish to use with FaceTime for Mac.Activating FaceTime for Mac
Use your Apple ID to register and use FaceTime. FaceTime registration validates your Apple ID and email address for use with FaceTime.
If you are unable to activate FaceTime, try the following:
Sign in to FaceTime for Mac using a valid Apple ID. After you validate the email address for use with FaceTime, other FaceTime users can connect to you using that email address. If you encounter issues registering or using an Apple ID account:
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection.
Verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Check that your email address is verified in FaceTime > Preferences. If FaceTime > Preferences shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.
Toggle FaceTime off and on in FaceTime > Preferences.
If still unable to Sign In follow the instructions in FaceTime, Game Center, Messages on OS X: Troubleshooting Sign in
    Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac
You can make FaceTime calls using the FaceTime app. You can call FaceTime users whose contact information is in Contacts. You can add contacts and edit contact information in either FaceTime or Contacts. To place a video call, you may use a phone number or email address.
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
    Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct.
Verify that both parties are connected to an active broadband Internet connection.
See Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a cable modem, DSL, or LAN Internet connection.
Consult Using FaceTime behind a firewall for necessary ports to open in firewalls, security software and routers.
If you encounter issues using a Wi-Fi network, use standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting to resolve interference and other issues.
Verify the phone number or email address being used is the correct one activated for FaceTime. You can verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Verify that both parties have installed the latest software updates for their Mac and/or device. See:
Mac OS X: Updating your software
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • SAPGUI unable to connect just hangs there

I completed an installation - everything was successful
    MMC shows all status green
SQLServer Logs has sufficient space to grow
When I tried to login, I get a status bar message, Waiting to Connect and it stays there forever.
Has anyone seen this before, any help greatly appreciated. Points will be awarded.
    Thank you !

Hi David, we meet again, hope you manage to get your IISProxy issue resolved.
    Yes, I did.
    App server - hostname
    SID - SM2
    System Number - 01
Ironically there's another SAP system on the same system with a different system number
    App server - hostname
    SID - SMD
    system number - 00
    and the second system works
Also when I stop the first SAP system (SMD) the 'hanging windows that says waiting for response' errors out with a message 'disconnected'

  • LibraryService.connect() method hangs

I have a servlet application that uses IFS with Oracle IFS 9.0.1. I have a pool of LibrarySessions that are dynamically created and connected using LibraryService.connect() if a new LibrarySession is needed. Each LibrarySession uses the same login username and password. We have one username and password for the entire web app and the application uses this one user for all calls into IFS.
    Here's my problem:
    Servlet Thread 1:
Creates a new LibrarySession and begins to stream a file to the client by writing Document.getContent() to the servlet outputstream.
    Servlet Thread 2:
While thread 1 is still busy streaming the file from IFS to the servlet output stream, servlet thread 2 attempts to create a new LibrarySession via LibraryService.connect().
    Result:
Thread 1 stops streaming the file. Thread 2 hangs and no more LibrarySessions can be created from that point forward.
    Questions:
    1. Should you be able to perform multiple threads at the same time using different LibrarySessions for the same user name?
    2. I'm guessing that thread 1's handles into IFS are somehow blocking thread 2 from connecting and creating a new LibrarySession. Why would this happen? Do LibrarySessions need to be created during a period of inactivity? Is something syncronized in the IFS API that I'm not aware of?
    Thanks,
    Steve Probst

    Answers:
    1. Yes, you should be able to create multiple threads, each of which use different LibrarySession objects concurrently, even if the LibrarySession objects are authenticated as the same user.
    2. a) I'm not sure why this would happen.
    2. b) No, LibrarySession objects can be created anytime.
    2. c) There are many things in the iFS API implementation that are synchronized behind the scenes, but it shouldn't be causing this problem.
    Have you tried iFS 9.0.3?
By the way, the DAV server that is built in to the product works just like your servlet, and supports multiple users connecting and streaming content all at the same time.
Can you connect to the DAV server on your iFS instance and stream content concurrently with other connected users?

    Thanks,
-JalilThat means the DBMS or network has dropped the connection from the driver.
Which JDBC driver are you using? If it's a type-2 driver like ours (uses DBMS-
supplied native code for connectivity), sometimes the native code will hang,
and the JVM can't do anything with that thread. I recommend you try using
Oracle's latest thin (all Java) driver.

  • WRT54GS - Internet Connection Stopping/Hanging

    Hi,
Just got the WRT54GS, had it about a week.
Whenever I hit an internet site, it will load about 80% of it and stop or hang. If i refresh the page it will finish downloading it (most of the time).
This is happening to all computers accessing the router, both wireless and the one that is wired (Ethernet) in.
I know it's not the internet connection itself, as I can use it without going through the router without any issues.
I've upgraded the firmware and played with a few of the settings without resolution.
Any ideas would be helpful as this is getting fairly annoying especially as getting a Linksys was supposed to solve all my networking issues.
    My info:
    Router - WRT54GS v7
    Firmware- 7.50.5
    Connection - DSL
Computers - 6 total (although normally 3 at the most at a time) all running XP sp3.
    Encryption - WEP 128
Wireless Network Mode - G (all computers are G compliant)
    Thank you for your time.
    Troy

    Thank you for your reposes.
Tried the above suggestions to no real success.
My latest shot is that i've changed the encryption key to WPA-Personal.
It goes great guns for 2 minutes ... then sits for about 20 seconds and then goes great guns for 2 minutes.
    Very frustrating.
Is it possible that I got a bad router to begin with? Is there really any way to tell?
Is it possible that one of my neighbors have a router that interferes with mine? What would cause the 2 minutes on 20 seconds off?
    Thoughts?
    Thank you

  • Adobe Connect gets hanged when enabling/disabling audio

    Hi everyone!
My name is Dani and I'm from Spain.
We've just started using Adobe Connect but we are facing an unknown issue. (Art least, it's unknown for me )
I start a meeting as a host, then 2 or 3 people connect to it as guests, and then, everytime I enable or disable my own audio (through the direct icon) the entire platform gets hanged for 2 or 3 seconds. Very annoying!
We are using the adobe connect add-in in a computer with that configuration:
    - Dell Optiplex 760
    - Windows 7 x64
    - 8 GB RAM
    - Microsoft LifeCam HD
    - ATI radeon graphic card (256MB)
    - A DSL dedicated simetric line
    Your help would be appreciated!!
    Thanks in advance!!

  • Remote Desktop Connection Manager hang

I work at a win8.1 client. I use Remote Desktop Managr to access my servers and clients.
It was working fine till it goes in hanging state and the the screen freez when i am tring to remote login to any PC.
The version of RDM is 2.2 build 2.426 by Julian Burger.
I uninstall it and install again, but still the same problem.
can anybody help me to fix this problem?

    Hi,
Is this the RDCman you downloaded?
    Remote Desktop Connection Manager
The system requirements told that it's supported OS is Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, so there might be some compatiblity issues when using in Windows 8.1.
Here is another thread talking about the RDCMan version:

    V2.5

    Hi,
Mainly this error occurs in SAP system, when there is a problem in Oracle database OPS$ authentication mechanism.
Check if the correct operating system username entries are there in database.
    Things to Check:
    1. Check that environment variable ORACLE_SID=<DBSID> is set properly.
    2. Check if remote_os_authent=true is set in your oracle initialization/spfile.
    3. Check if OPS$<SID>adm user is created in the database.
    SQL>select username,account_status from dba_users;
    USERNAME                       ACCOUNT_STATUS
    OPS$<SID>ADM                     OPEN
    OPS$ORA<SID>                     OPEN
    OPS$SAPSERVICE<SID>              OPEN
    SYS                            OPEN
    SYSTEM                         OPEN
    SAPSR3                         OPEN
    OUTLN                          LOCKED
    TSMSYS                         EXPIRED & LOCKED
    DIP                            EXPIRED & LOCKED
    ORACLE_OCM                     EXPIRED & LOCKED
    DBSNMP                         EXPIRED & LOCKED
    11 rows selected.
    4. Check that you are using correct username and password.
