Consolidation Doubt

Dear Experts 1
I have one doubt for consolidation :
Our clinet having one legal enity in India and also having 2 plants under this legal entity. Both 2 plants are defined and assigned to above legal entity. Now another plant is established in Pune but they are using another system not SAP. As per accounting standards that plant also under group only.
Business would like to do all consolidation along with legacy plant also (Pune) in SAP. Is it posisble to upload every month end legacy plant balances in system ? If it is posisbel how can i get this reports from Consolidation ?What are the primary requirements to upload data every month end?

Hi Manikumar,
This could be done in ECCS (Consolidation) by defining the 3 plants as consolidation units and the company code as consolidation group. Every month/period end, you may have to upload the totals records of the 3rd plant into SAP. You can perform the consolidation functions (inter plant eliminations) and finally generate the consolidated report at the group (company code) level.

    Hope all are doing well !!
    I have a doubt in generating Balance sheet & Financial statement report for country specific COA.
    The Scenario is like this:
    We have 3 Company codes and all company codes are assigned with single operating chart of acconts.
    In one company code there is an addtional requirement of maintaining country specific COA.
    All three company codes are maintaining same Group (consolidated) chart of accounts.
    Now my question is :
    How to generate FS report for Country specific COA for the Company code along with the operating COA? And also would be helpful if you can explain me how it can also be for Group chart of account.
    As per my understanding once you assign an operating COA to a co code and account determination is done, the table SKB1 (GL master co code segment)will get linked to the respective co code and you may not be able to creat data in co code segment of GL master record for another COA (Viz.Country specific COA). There is no such customisation has given to adopt this. Probably there should be some report or program need to be executed to copy the relevant table and country templates.
    It would be helpful if you can provide some documentation on this please forward it to me.

    In IMG, under 'Global parameters for company code', you need to mention the country chart of Accounts in one of the fields.
    In the GL master, you need to fill in the Alternate Account number field with the Account from the country COA.
    As for reporting,COA is one of the selection criteria for any standard report anyway.

  • Consolidation in special posting period

    Hi All,
    I am using the Fiscal year variant April to March with 4 special posting periods in ECC. I am using the same in BCS too.
    I am taking the data through LFDS with posting period move.
    I am using quarterly consolidation which is period 3, 6, 9 and 12. However I have balances appearing in special posting periods 13 - 16 in source cube. My first consolidation is happeing for period 12. 2008
    How do I take care of the transactions posted in Sepcial posting periods 13 - 16.
    1. Should I be running the COI in period 16 too. Should I be running it as subsequent consolidation or make period 16 itself as first consolidation.
    2. I am also thinking of making the changes in the source cube 0FIGL_C10 with an additional field called consolidation posting period and write a routine to update additional period field as 12 wherever the posting period is 13 to 16. Then extract the data into BCS for period 12 and have only consolidation frequency till period 12. Can I proceed with this approach ?
    Pl give a standard and correct approach to be followed in case of special posting periods considering all the above facts.

  • Company code consolidation

    I have a question regarding Company consolidation.
    I have five company codes each using the same Chart of account.  Now I want to do the consolidation of company codes.  How do I go about it ?  Please advise the best method.
    Can I use the group chart of account and create a financial statement version and select the group account numbers in it ?
    If that is the case, I am doubtful about how we can adjust inter-unit business eliminations, etc.
    When do we need to use EC-CS ?  Should I use this in my scenario ?  Do I need to create a group chart of account for EC-CS and assign the same to the operational chart of accounts ?
    If my company codes use different chart of accounts, how the same company codes are consolidated ?
    Please guide me briefly.

  • Inter plant profit determination on Consolidation

    Dear Gurus/Experts,
    I am facing a scenario in Consolidation in an Indian Implementation project. The Client is a manufacturing company and has two plants. The production of 1st plant is mostly captive consumed by 2nd plant and also sold outside. Now they are having some local ERP system. In this system, they are recording the stock transfer as Sales. So when goods are issued from 1st plant to second plant, it is done by raising sales invoice with sales tax. However, they do not allow me to see the consolidation entries.
    I have thought of treating each plant as profit center and so as show the sales/turnover at plant level as per their requirement. But during consolidation, the unrealized profit will be knocked off. The client wants to show the inter-plant sales also (as the scenario I have mentioned) on the plant level as well as company code level. I am unable to do this as this company is registered with the Registrar of Companies as a single company and have single PAN No. I also cannot go for creating two company codes as this will be out of scope.
    Gurus, please help me how I can map this scenario in SAP.

    Hi Amit,
    What I undestand from your post is only one company code with multiple plants.
    1.So here you can create a plant as a customer and do the stock transfer.
    2.At company code level in p&l you can show purchases and also show sale for the transaction you are mentioning. I am doubtful that you cannot show in this way as it is not following the accounting standard for revenue recognition .
    3. As the company is single entitiy the step two is going to eliminate profit in stock transfer & which a basic accounting principle and legal requirement for revenue recognition accounting standard.

    Hello all ,
    Please clarify me that my clients declares plant wise balance sheet to legal authority and they need separate balance sheet as they maintain the will have two company code but they also want consolidated balance sheet for two company codes , i have suggested to have one business area which would assign to the company codes for balance sheet report.
    They have two diff. chart of a/c also.
    can we track the balance sheet of consolidation on basis of business area ?
    Because on the basis of chart of a/c we can traco report separatly.

    Matrix consolidation is possible using SEM - BCS and we are doing the same for similar requirement
    For more information on the same, a seperate forum is availabel in our community network
    But i doubt its possible without using SEM
    As in R/3, your consolidation is a single form consolidation and which will work with your company code

    In fact i didn't tell you the scenario.
    2 company codes currency is SGD.
    This they want to do consolidation without new gl & EC-CS.
    This is where the hicup is,  we have to choose Business area consolidation only.
    But the question here is should we need to have 2 chart of accounts.
    In my view there has to be only 1 chart of accounts.
    But my doubt is whether we need Group chart of accounts or not in this scenario.
    Please throw some light on this friend/friends.

    In MRP run based on the reorder point and max.stock level,PRs will be created .
    One PR will be created for each material. Here One PR for one material will be created.
    Instead of that any provision is there in SAP, based on which Single Purchase Requisition will be created
    for group of materials instead of PR for single material.

    ---Doubt 1: If same material is existing in different PRs, same material is copying in different line items instead of consolidating on same line item.
    keep seperate RFQ/PO line item for seperate PR line item i.e. 1-1 for PR-PO, dont try to edit/overwrite quantities
    --Doubt 2; Is it possible to consolidate the PRs/Refer the PRs of different materials of same purchase organisation,can be created in one RFQ .

Consolidated or not, for all listed companies, these requirements impose strict norms that need to be adhered to for reporting the financial results. Therefore, if an enterprise has many subsidiaries and the numbers are reported for the group as per the IFRS norms, it still presupposes that ALL the norms have been adhered to.
    In respect of Business Objects Planning and Consolidation, SAP has come up with a Starter Kit for IFRS adoption. It is pre-configured with all reports, controls and rules for performing, validating and publishing a statutory consolidation in accordance with IFRS standards. An enterprise may have the desired setting for its Consolidation Definition. One of the settings is choosing a pre-defined variant that allows it to have either Periodic or YTD setting to be selected for a given category, data period and currency.     In my view, for legal consolidation, the consolidated financial information is valid only if it is YTD. The periodic values are needed only for calculating the movements - for Statement of Cash Flows. This aspect is well taken care of in the Consolidation Processing u2013 either Full Processing or Incremental processing.
    If you want to reconcile the balances as per ECC, BI as well as BPC, you have to consider only the YTD values.
    Hope this gives adequate information for clarifying your doubt.

  • Get bw data into bpc consolidation model

    hi gurus
    i m kinda newbie in bpc nw 7.5 for consolidation, now i m enroll in a project where i have to build some models for financial consolidation, in some way i know what objects should it builded, but i have a doubt about data which resides in BW (obviusly cames from ERP), this data is stored in some Z infocubes, but how i can get this data into my model on bpc?? do i have to do it throught DTPs/transformations or there is some BPC functions that implement this?

  • International consolidation of Org. Management.

    Hello All,
    We are using Organization management for US market. We want to extend this funtionality to Germany. I have some doubts on this. Is anyone having any documents on this kind of consolidation?
    How can we maintain the laguage for these new objects created for the new German scenario? How can we maintain the number range for Germany and US separate ( if this is possible)? How can we consolidate the existing US market with the new German market? Is there any technical integration points?
    Any other thoughts is greatly appreciated.

    If I have a separate node for US and seperate node for DE ( as they are under two different Company codes ), how can I consolidate both and combine the two nodes to bring under a single node?
    Using the report RHTRANS0 I am able to create an entry in table T527X ( if I run this report for org unit) with the language key as mentioned in the report selection screen. But How will I able to view this new record created? I created the record with laguage key DE, I tried to login with logon laguage DE but I am not abel to see the record created in DE for this org unit. Is there any other setting like user parameter that I need to maintain apart from logon language?
    Is there a way to associate company codes with number ranges, i.e if I am creating an object in DE company code then the system will assign the object ID from a mentioned number range? and if I am in US company code then it is different number range?

  • Issue  when 2 consolidation group hierarchies used in one single query

    Dear experts,
    I have an issue.
    I need to build a query where we compare our forecast data (figures for year end 12.2009) to our plan 2010 data.
    The problem is that we changed (in our consolidation system SEM BCS) our consolidation group hierarchy for next year only , (for the plan :  the change has been  done from march 2010 on the version P1 used for the plan)
    Ex :
    In forecast  the structure is as below :
    We have a zone France/Spain/Portugal that includes :
    1. the business unit France 1 and the business unit includes the french company AFrench company Bfrench company C
    2. the business unit France 2 with french companies D, E.
    3. the business Unit Spain : with spanish company A, B C etc.
    4.The business Unit Portugal : with portuguese company A, B, C etc.
    Our Plan conso group hierarch is as below  :
    We have a zone FRANCE  (France/Spain/Portugal does not exit anymore) that includes :
    1. the Business unit France 1 with french Companies A, B and C
    2. the BU France 2 with french companies D, E
    In my query i want to compare a business unit profit and Loss Forecast Versus Plan.
    If i select as a consolidation group, exemple the business unit France 1 (which no longer has the same Zone above but still exists in the hierarchy), I have the following error message :
    "BW server error
    Exception condition : "HIERARCHY NOT FOUND" raised."
    My consolidation group characteristic is set up in both columns (forecast and Plan) with a hierarchy node variable based on the right hierarchy version and the right hierarchy key date, that is why i am now lost...
    I have a doubt regarding the feasability of such query...

    Actually i saw with our technical team yesterday that we may have an issue when creating a new conso group hierarchy
    SAP note 957506
    This problem is caused by program error in the CL_RRHI_INCL_CREATOR_TID class.
    The error can occur if a hierarchy contains new characteristic values and if additional hierarchies for the characteristic are activated simultaneously.
    We may need a support package to solve this.
    As you said, both hierarchies are based on the same characteristic.
    I understand that we need pro forma presentation to compare our figures.
    But we always ask for Business units level figures, and the BUs level did not change, only the zones level.
    Anyway i am blocked for the moment, since nothing can work with this program error (even all my old queries for which the consolidation group is mandatory).
    I leave my question opened and will let you know if everything worked (or not) as I had expected.

    Hierarchies in SEM-BCS may have different structure, depending on share of ownership and your purpose.
    Your hierarchy:
    >
    >           Sub Cons Group1
    >

    >                             Cons Unit2    (Subsidiary of Cons Unit 1)
    >

    Answering to your questions is impossible because:
    1. 20% ownership usually means not a subsidiary, but an associate company, that is another accounting method.
    2. Ownership in 1000% is impossible.

    If I got it correctly, you don't want the A#281100 calculation to happen for your holding company. There is a preferable way to do your consolidation that avoids involving the Calculate() altogether. So scrap your Calculate and write this Consolidate() instead:
