Consolidation Group Hierarchy in the reports
Hello exports,
Recently we had a consolidation group hierarchy cahnge. We moved a cons unit from one cons group to other. I did not use the drag and drop of course. The change had been made from 01.10.
The consolidation group is time depended.
The problem regards the queries I have: when I open the combo box of the "consolidation group hierarchy" I expect to get
2 optional hierarchies: one for the previous hierarchy and second for current hierarchy.
Instead I get to see only the current hierarchy. In my point of view it is wrong because users who would like to watch reports for 30.09 can only get to see the new hierarchy which is not relevant for 30.09 yet.
Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks again. The resaults are correct , this is not the problem.
Let me use an example in order to simplify the problem:
Suppose I made an organizational change in 01.10 in which CC A became CG A and owns some other CC under it.
From your point of view, from 01.10 and on the users will see on the selection screen only CG A,
Even if they rather produce the report for 30.09, they wont be able to select CC A.
By the way, on the result screen of the query the hierarchy acts perfectly- just like the hierarchy has been at the specified date, 30.09. As I mentioned- the only problem is relevant for the selection screen.

Consolidation group Hierarchy - rollup calculation issue?
Hi,
I am facing an issue with my consolidation groups hierarchy (created in SEM BCS).
We have a new conso group hierarchy starting for our plans 2010 : we have new nodes (zones), new leaves (new Business units) and some BUs moved fom one node to another one.
Level 1 ZONE
Level 2 BUSINESS UNIT
(simplified hierarchy since we have sub-zones)
in a Bex report, I fixed this new consolidation group hierarchy in selection (in filters) (to be able to select the new zones, the new Business units etc.)
I can only get figures for one version and one fiscal year/period with this report.
Results :
-When i call a new Business unit, i get the correct figures, but when i call its higher level (the zone), the figures of this new Business unit are not included.
-If i call a new zone, i don't see the proper figures with the sum of its BUs + elimination between the BUs of the zone : i just see the eliminations between its BUs.
I checked the master data synchronization between BCS and BW and everything looks fine.
Has anyone had the same issue? Is there any solution?

Consolidation Group Hierarchy - Change Setting
When I right click to consolidation group hierarchy> display then I get tab of settings where check box
saying there is only one root node is selected. I need to remove this check box but unable to do so.
From where do i remove this checkbox
When I select change then nothing is displayed.
Navigate: master data>cons group> right click and display_con group will open with settings tab
and there need to remove check box which says only one root node. how to remove this ?I think even it is a system setting we can change it but not getting the way.
when i run transaction
UG_MD_BASE_FIELD and search for Field name
UNIQUE_INDEPFLD, I get ONLY_ONE_ROOT as a base field, when i select this base filed I get multiple options, but unable to figure out which one to select.
Will appreciate if you all can work with me on this issue. -
How to get the value of a variable in group footer in the report footer also
I have a placed a formula as below at the group footer and the report footer. The data is grouped on the basis of duedays which is again formula and the value in that is appearing correctly.
Whilereadingrecords;
Global Numbervar CNTONE;
Numbervar P := P+1;
IF P = 1 AND {@DUEDAYS} = 0

At the group footer I get the value correctly for CNTONE but when I place the formula in Report footer I get the value for CNTONE as 0.
Please do let me know how I could get the same value in the report footer also.

When I give the statement whileprintingrecords then my above formula sums up only the first record and the last record of the group and when I give whilereadingrecords it adds up all the data in the group correctly.
The formula that you mentioned for the report footer had worked out and it is showing my result correctly.
I did not put up the reset formula on the group footer because as the group changes I had used another variable in another formula for example for the second group I used

I dont know I may be following a longer procedure

but i check all report link with customer, not find this fields.

Profit center group number on the report painter report.
Hi,
We have a client requirement where we have to develop Profit center by Functional Area report by using report painter report functionality, however we are able to bring profit center group description on to the report as per the requirement, but not able to get profit center group number displayed on the report.
Can anyone please advice me if we can get the Profit center group number displayed on the report in Report painter report. Else let me know if we can get the requirement met by an ABAPER.Hi.
First of all, through transaction GS01 create a set ID for profit centers.
Give table GLPCT, let the set type be the default (basic set) and give field name RPRCTR. Then define the range of profit centers you want. If you want all the profit centers give * in the "from value field".
Then create a variable through transaction GS11. Give table and field as above, choose variable type set and at the default set field choose the set you created.
Finally, at report painter go to Edit/General Data Selection and select profit center.
Check both flags (for entering sets and variables) and give at the form field the variable you've made.
Now the progit center group will be available in the selection screen with default value the set you've made.

Display a particular node of Hierarchy in the Report.

I have an urgent requirement that i have to display only a particular node(5) of Hierarchy in the Bw Report , I have tried different options available in the Hierarchy tab (That is Expand to level 5 , Position of lower node - Above , Value of posted node - Hide ) . But stil it is displaying 5 and then 4 node , but i don't want that 4 node .
Can anybody gine me some useful suggestion .

- To show only particular nodes of a hierarchy in the Excel sheet:
Step 1: include the base characteristic
Step 2: select the hierarchy (properties of the characteristic) - (display key only)
Step 3: user restrict (from context menu of the characteristic) on the nodes that you want to display.
Step 4: expand to level: 1 (properites of the characteristics)
This should serve the purpose. I know it is a little late, but it might be helpful in the future -

Say the BPC system in up and Live in running. As part of maintenance a legal entity has been created in ECC, and bought over to BPC. For some reason the entity has not been assigned to the Group Struture. Will the consolidation still run, or does it errors out. If it errors out can we find a log to identify this and will the system error out for the complete group structure.

Go to backend BW system's t.code UJ_VALIDATION. This is used for characteristic validations. With the rule definition you have a BADI UJ_VALIDATION_RULE_LOGIC. So to t.code SE19 and define a method to it and write your abap code in it. There is another write back BADI UJR_WRITE_BACK. You can also use it and define your validations.
You can try using Start/End Routine BADI's in options section of transformation file during master data load. Please refer below doc for more details.

Scope Entities under the selected Consolidation Group
Hi Experts,
During running of Consolidation, I have a logic to compute the translation of Retained Earnings via Account Transformation. Now my problem is that the logic calculates for all Entities. As a result there are data in other Entities even though they are not part of the consolidation group. In the MS version, we used the function below to filter Entities that are active under the selected consolidation group but it seems that this is not supported here in NW. Any function I can use to scope only the Entities that are active in the selected conso group?

Normally we have a consolidation hierarchy structure in Entity Dimentsion also, so you can add entity filter in script logic and DM and run CALC_ACCOUNT for this group only.

Consolidation Group Change and Consolidation Activity
Hi Experts,
I am new in SAP consolidation, I have a question regarding the difference between the function "consolidation group change" and "consolidation activity".
If I read in the sap library, these 2 functions are separated, but if I look at the content, I saw some similarity where the consolidation group change also included the investment activity like acquisition and divestiture.
Could anyone explain what are the difference between these 2 function?
When I was a user, if the group acquiered a new cons unit, I just add a new cons unit in the consolidation group hierarchy, assign consolidation method, add the additional financial data for the ownership percentage (activity = first consolidation), enter the reported financial data, run CI function and add one more column in my report painter.
When I read SAP library, I saw the "consolidation group change" function talking about the consolidation activity, now I wonder, what are the difference? What is the business scenario for using the "normal" CI activity and the "consolidation group change"? Please anyone advise. Thank you.
regards,Normal C/I is a regular acquisition or divestiture. Cons Group Change could be movement of a company from one consolidation group to another (i.e., parent A sells company 1 to parent B). Or you own a company 20% and purchase an additional 60% and must switch accounting technique from Equity to Purchase. BCS will need to book Cons Group Change entries to account for the acct technique change. (In the past, at 20%, you would only book equity pickup, or equitization entries, to the parent as PL30 adjustments in the CoI. Now you must bring in the complete balances of the company due to purchase method of consolidation. BCS books consolidation-group specific adjustments to do this.)
Example....
"Normal C/I activity"
New company A needs be consolidated in Cons Group 1 starting in 03/2007. Add the company to the Cons Group master data, set the accounting technique, update additional financial data w/ activity First consolidation and load data for the new company. Run COI
"Cons Group Change"
Company A is consolidated in Cons Group 1, but starting in 06/2007 they will be sold to a parent in Cons Group 2. Update the Cons Group master data...setting company A to divest in 06/2007 from CG1 and to First Consolidate in CG2 starting in 06/2007. If using Org Change logic, create an Org Change number and define a sender/receiver relationship for CG1 --> CG2. In additional financial data, create a total transfer activity w/ org change logic from CG1 to CG2. Run Org Change task and BCS will zero out balance sheet related to company A in CG1 on posting level 02/12/22. In CG2, similar postings will book "catch up" entries in 06/2007 to bring full balance sheet into CG2. In CoI, company will be transferred to new parent.

Issue when 2 consolidation group hierarchies used in one single query
Dear experts,
I have an issue.
I need to build a query where we compare our forecast data (figures for year end 12.2009) to our plan 2010 data.
The problem is that we changed (in our consolidation system SEM BCS) our consolidation group hierarchy for next year only , (for the plan : the change has been done from march 2010 on the version P1 used for the plan)
Ex :
In forecast the structure is as below :
We have a zone France/Spain/Portugal that includes :
1. the business unit France 1 and the business unit includes the french company AFrench company Bfrench company C
2. the business unit France 2 with french companies D, E.
3. the business Unit Spain : with spanish company A, B C etc.
4.The business Unit Portugal : with portuguese company A, B, C etc.
Our Plan conso group hierarch is as below :
We have a zone FRANCE (France/Spain/Portugal does not exit anymore) that includes :
1. the Business unit France 1 with french Companies A, B and C
2. the BU France 2 with french companies D, E
In my query i want to compare a business unit profit and Loss Forecast Versus Plan.
If i select as a consolidation group, exemple the business unit France 1 (which no longer has the same Zone above but still exists in the hierarchy), I have the following error message :
"BW server error
Exception condition : "HIERARCHY NOT FOUND" raised."
My consolidation group characteristic is set up in both columns (forecast and Plan) with a hierarchy node variable based on the right hierarchy version and the right hierarchy key date, that is why i am now lost...
I have a doubt regarding the feasability of such query...

Actually i saw with our technical team yesterday that we may have an issue when creating a new conso group hierarchy

This problem is caused by program error in the CL_RRHI_INCL_CREATOR_TID class.
The error can occur if a hierarchy contains new characteristic values and if additional hierarchies for the characteristic are activated simultaneously.
We may need a support package to solve this.
As you said, both hierarchies are based on the same characteristic.
I understand that we need pro forma presentation to compare our figures.
But we always ask for Business units level figures, and the BUs level did not change, only the zones level.
Anyway i am blocked for the moment, since nothing can work with this program error (even all my old queries for which the consolidation group is mandatory).
I leave my question opened and will let you know if everything worked (or not) as I had expected. -
Consolidation group change without ownership change
Hi All,
I require help in resolving this particular issue.
I have a company called 1000 which is having a subsidiary called 5010. both of the fall under the same consolidiation group called CG1.
Now I have run the First consolidation as of March 2009 and carry forwarded the balances in 2009.
Now 5010 has invested in 6 more companies and has become a holding company to them.
Now I thought of two options
1. To just create these 6 companies and enter the investment details for these companies and run the COI.
2. To create a new consolidation group called CG2. Put the 5010 company along with its 6 newly acquired subsidiaries under this consoldation group.
I ma exercising the option 2 by creating a new consolidation group as it will easy to get the reports at CG2 level.
As you can observe there has been no transfer of investment happening here. How do i take care of such a situation.
I read the posts regarding the Consolidation group changes but all posts were dealing with change in ownership happening. In my case there is no change in ownership as 1000 still continues to be the holding company. But only difference is that earlier 5010 was existing as a end node but now It has to have a consolidation group of its own where in it will have the holding company 5010 along with its 6 subsidiaries.
Pl give me a solution.

1. Did first consolidation in period 012.2008
2. There is a company 5510 which belongs to CG1 as of first consolidation which was in period 012.2008
3. 5510 has invested in 6 new companies in period 003.2009
4. I want to create a new consolidation group CG2 and put the existing company 5510 along with 6 new companies under this group (client requirement)
5. I created a new consolidation group CG2 and assigned the company 5510 to this group along with 6 new companies
6. In consolidation group CG1 mentioned the divesture period as 003.2009 (DABP ticked) for 5510 company
7. in Consolidation group CG2 mentioned the First consolidation period as 003.2009 (FCEP unticked) against 5510 company
8. The figures are not accurate at the CG2 group level.
Should I be doing anything else apart from the above steps.
Will appreciate a fast reply as it is stopping the go-live

Total Transfer between paralel consolidation groups
Hello Gurus!
We are using SEM-BCS for legal consolidation of our consolidation hierarchy. The hierarchy stands as shown below in 04.2014:
CG00
CU000
CG20
CU005
CU001
CG01
CG19
CU018
CG02
CG03
In period 04.2014, we have to make a transfer of one consolidation unit (CU001) from consolidation group CG19 to CG20.
In consolidation group CG19 in 03.2014, company CU001 is hold at 100% by consolidation unit CU018.
In consolidation group CG20 in 04.2014, company CU001 is transferred to this consolidation group, as well as the participation (100% of the shares) from company CU018 to company CU005.
The holding of the hierarchy is CU000 in CG00.
To execute the transfer, we created organizational change company and organizational change number in the master data tab. Afterwards, company CU001 was changed from consolidation group CG19 to CG20. In the company CU001 we set the mark for first consolidation with organizational change and indicated the ID of the organizational change.
After this definitions in the master data tab, we executed the task for consolidation group changes, obtaining the following result:
Balance sheet items were correctly posted in group CG20, as this the destination group of the transfer. But on the other hand, the elimination from the previous consolidation group (CG19) is being wrongly executed, as the elimination is being executed in consolidation group CG00, when this should be posted in CG19.
Could you help us understand what is being wrongly made, for the post being made in CG00 and not in CG19.

Responding to your questions:
1) The operation wasn't made with indication of divestiture in period 004/2014. However I tried to test it with that indicator (divestiture with OC), and the results weren't diferent from the ones i'm obtain now.
2) The consolidation group changes were executed.
3) The whole balance sheet accounts. The consolidation group changes were executed at levels 02, 12 and 22. -
Could not able to show a scalar value in Page Header/Group Header of the re

I could not able to show a scalar value in Page Header/Group Header of the report which is returned from Sub-report. But I am able to display it in both Group Footer and Page Footer.
I used shared variable in formula filed of both main and sub report and both are placed in the main and sub-report.

Mani G.S.You can only show Shared variables in main report in a location after the subreport has executed.
If you want to show values in page header or group header you must place subreport in a section above these. This is unlikely to be possible so you will have to live with displaying results in Group/page footer.
Alternatively you can execute subreport twice, once where subreport is hidden in a section above page/group header and pass summary figure you require and then again where you currently have subreport so you can see details as required.

How to put the product hierarchy in the bw?
I want to have the product hierarchy in the reporting, in a way, that the users can open and shut the elements of the tree.
So i added the foreign hierarchy criteria 0PRODH1, 2, 3 to the InfoObject 0MATERIAL.
Then I used InfoSource 0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER to put data in 0MATERIAL.
In the result 0MATERIAL HAS the hierarchy, but without any materials added to the leafs.
What did i do wrong?

It says 2 main points with regarding to your problem.
1) Material master records with shared master data in the sales area cannot be assigned to a product hierarchy in BW.
This solution generates the thinnest possible hierarchy, but leads to some restrictions in the navigation options in the BW queries because you can no longer expand the hierarchy to the material numbers.
2) The 0PROD_HIER attribute of 0-MATERIAL must be active as a navigation attribute in the cube.When you expand the hierarchies by product hierarchy in the query, you can display this hierarchy.
