Contractor Change Orders amount exceeds remaining Reference Commit balance for WBS codes
I was wondering if there is a way we can override this business rule where the Reference Commit balance amount cannot be a negative number. For example, we want to enter a change order with a negative amount to show up on the Cost Sheet.

Hi,
Is it possible to track the changes that we made to PO in ME23N. i.e. old value and new value what we have changed. I have seen some FM 'CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ'. But this is not giving for all. In specific
1. Change order amount
2. Version
3. Reason code
4. Line item text
Please sugest me how to approach. specific to the fields.
Regards
ReddyThen I suggest what Rob has already suggested. Change the PO, save it and go out of the transaction.
Again get into the same PO in ME23n transaction. Now you should be see the changes as per the menu below.
Environment->Header changes
or
Environment->Item changes
If you can see the changes here, that means change documents are active for the fields shown here and you can as well read them using CHANGE_DOCUMENTS_READ function.
You can ask the functional consultant to show the changes in PO screen.

Orders already invoiced status can still change the amount/qty order
HI Experts,
How to configure the amount/quantity of Sales Order should not be able to change the amount once the invoice is created?
Thanks a lot!Dear Cecilio,
this is possible with the user exit modification stating that
if VA02 then make the order quantity and amount fields disable.
user exit : FORM USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION
PROGRAM : MV45AFZZ.
IF sy-tcode EQ 'VA02'.
IF vbak-vkorg EQ 'YOUR SALES ORGNS'.

I'm new to P3. I need to manage a large 2 year public
works building construction schedule in downtown Los
Angeles, with numerous and frequent changes to the
schedule due to change orders, RFI's etc. Of course, these
changes result in increases/decreases to cost and time,
which need to be monitored and dealt with as part of the
overall project. Some say that fragnets are the best way
to insert these changes into the schedule. Some say
fragnets are problematic. I have no experience with
fragnets and I want to get off on the right foot. What
have you project managers and project engineers found most
effective for inserting and managing change order and RFI
items?Nat:
Thank you very much for
your response.
Your
explanation of fragnets was very useful. I will make a
point of saving and reusing repetitive groups of
activities. In my case, SOMD (slab-on-metal-deck) is
very repetitive. Also, exterior building finishes such
as plaster (exterior sheathing, lath, scratch coat,
brown coat, cure, finish coat, cleanup). Interior
finishes activities are also often identical from
floor to floor.
The issue with
RFI's is usually not so critical. I mentioned 1200
RFI's but relatively few impact the schedule and must
be coded in. But it is more than 48. In my case, the
most common reason for entering an RFI into the
schedule is when the
consultant/Architect/Engineer/State Agency exceeds the
contractually agreed upon time limit for response to a
design-related RFI, or his response is irrelevant
requiring a second round of RFI's to resolve the
problem (revise and resubmit for title-block
exceptions, for example, happens frequently). <br
/>
It is easy to ignore these delays,
and recording them in the schedule can really irritate
the consultant, but when they become a habit, the
cumulative impact on the schedule can be significant.
Therefore, I need to be able to track these RFI delays
effectively within the schedule. Of course, an RFI
always has a number that is tracked inside Expedition
as well.
The bigger problem is
Change Orders. As you know, when the Owner wants
something added to the work, or a problem in the
design results in an increase in the scope of work
(there are many other possible reasons of course) a CO
is requested. As a general rule, most change orders
contain both a cost increase as well as a time
extension. This time extension is the problem,
because, especially on public works projects, the
Owner/CM does not want to grant time an extension, and
even when they do, they will only grant it when it
impacts the critical path, and only after there is no
float remaining (you will see why this distinction is
important as you read further). The critical path
condition makes sense, but the idea that my float is
the Owner's to eat for his CO work is grating,
especially when facing potential LD's. <br
/>
To top it off, some Owners/CMs insist
that all time delays be dealt with at the end of the
project, when the actual time delay resulting from a
CO can be calculated, instead of simply estimated, as
is common practice (corresponding language is inserted
into the CO to that effect instead of a defined time
extension). My position is that if they refuse to
grant a time extension based on an estimate, then the
cost given in the CO, which is nothing more than an
estimate, should also be replaced with T&M, and
the budget be damned. Needless to say, that position
has not won me many friends in the trailer across the
way.
You might suggest that we
should refuse the extra work if a time extension is
not granted up front. If we did that, they would hit
our bond in a heartbeat. A contractor's lot in life
seems to be to make lawyers (Deo volente, may the burn
in hell) wealthy.
In the case
of the Owner/CM refusing to grant time for
non-critical path CO's, my position is that, while the
CO work may not be on the critical path this instant,
in many cases, the critical path can change
dramatically, sucking CO work into it that was
previously separated from it by weeks. That very thing
has happened on a school project located in a major
city we are doing.
The project
has extensive tubular secondary steel at the exterior
of the two buildings. This tube steel, ranging in size
from 4" diameter to 20" diameter curves around, and up
and down, the exterior of the structure. I do not
exaggerate when I say that it is more complicated than
a roller coaster. I will send pictures if you are
interested. It supports curvilinear LG framing, which
in turn supports a combination of plaster, brick
veneer and metal panels. Very phantasmagorical stuff.
Being a complicated 3-D arrangement of rigid steel,
the architect's drawings were incomplete, (we should
have expected that) and changed frequently (4 times)
during fabrication, resulting in detailing problems
and a two month delay in erection. Lots of unforeseen,
fit-scribe-cut-repeat of long, heavy, curved, twisting
pieces of long steel hanging from crane hooks has been
required.
We have recovered
most of that time, but only by doing a great deal of
out-of-sequence work.
As you
can imagine, this mess generated a ton of CO's, but
the Owner would not agree to grant time extensions
until the end of the project, and even then, only on
CO's that are provably on the critical path. When
combined with electrical changes impacting utility
buildings, cable pulls, elevators, manlift and even
exterior finishes, and then with added off-site work,
topped off by submittal-review delays by State
agencies, the critical path has flapped around like a
flag in the wind, with CO's going in and out of it. In
many cases, this means that a particular item of
ongoing CO work has delayed the critical path for a
period of time, but not for the entire duration of the
CO work. So calculating the exact impact of the CO
during the period it was on the critical path has not
been easy.
I anticipate there
will be huge disagreement about these calculations at
the end of the project when we have the "come to
Jesus" time/money resolution meeting with the
Owner/CM.
BTW, the CM always
insists that CO's be dealt with as fragnets, but that
doesn't always make sense because the nature of CO
work is often one-of-a kind, not repetitive stuff. But
he has fragnets on the brain, it seems, so we call
them fragnets to humor him.
<br
/>Anyway, as you can imagine, tracking the dynamic
(vs. static) effect of CO's on the schedule has been
difficult. I am almost tempted to try calculus methods
to calculate time consumed over time (if you get my
meaning). Any experience analyzing schedules using
differential equations? Someone must have done it
before....
Right now I am
using activity codes to track them, but I am wondering
if there is a better way.
<br
/>
I have other projects, without the
same delays, but similar Owner/CM mindset regarding
CO's
Now you know the long
story. Any suggestions?

Payment amount is more than Purchase Order Amount
Dear FI Expert,
We are getting the error "Payment amount is more than Purchase Order
Amount" w hen a single payment through one check is being made against 2
purchase orders.
System is considering only the 1st purchase order and disallowing
payment.
For e.g. 2 Purchase Orders are created w ith 100% DP condition: First
one
for USD 200000 and second one for USD 100000.
2 Dow n Payment requests are created through ME2DP against these 2
Purchase Orders.
At the time of making payment through F-48 by selecting both open items
it takes the reference of only one Purchase Order and generates the
error
"Payment amount is more than Purchase Order Amount."
Please suggest how entry w ill be made in such cases.
Thanks

You are using EHP 4 or higher package. in this case you can use FPDP_CREATE instead of ME2DP.

MIRO invoice amount exceeding the blanket po overall limit
Hello Gurus,
I'm having trouble with invoicing against a blanket purchase order. Can anyone please explain why and when does invoice amount can exceed the blanket po amount. As I understood from the SAP documentation I should not be able to invoice for amout greater than the overall limit on the blanket PO.
Here is what i did.
1. I have created a blanket PR for 1000$ (Purchase requisition document type - Frame work requisition , overall limit - 1000$ , No limit flag - unchecked)
2. I created a P.O ( Order type - Frame work order, validity start date - todays date , validity end date - 1 year from today's date ).
3. I checked the tolerance limits in OMR6 - for the above company code , tolearance key (LA) , check limit is blank , for tolerance key (LD) the check limit is 100.
4. However I was able to invoice for more than 10,000$ against this Purchase order.
My question is , am i missing anything so as the invoice amount not to exceed the blanket po amoutn ?
My requirement is - MIRO invoice should not allow the user to post in invoice with amount exceeding the blanket p.o amout.
Why would the MIRO invoice not checking the blanket po overall limit ?
Appreciate your responses .
Thanks.Hi Kirit,
For tolerance key type 'LA' (Amount of blanket purchase order) , upper limit I set the check limit val to blank , and for percentage , i checked the do not check flag.
For tolerance key type 'LD' , upper limit absolute check limit value is '100.00'.
Where do i set the status of message , infact I'm not getting any message while posting the invoice.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks

Withholding tax line amount exceeds message no.7Q320
Dear all,
Withholding tax type we are defined as a accumulated type. untill and unless it exceeds the minimum amount system will not calculate the withholding tax once it crosses the minimum amount system will calculate tds from one rupee on words. but now at the time of posting advance payment to vendor the system generates a error namely withholding tax line amount exceeds.
As per my knowledge i convert the error message into warning even i know this not the good practice but according to situation what i did is correct. at the making those changes the system asks the request (workbench). i save under one new request when i transported to another client the system is generating warnings.
when i transport the same from develpoment to quality the system generating error. i come to know this is through request status.
What is the solution for this
Thanks & Regards,

PU Ordered quantity exceeded by 123,456
Hi,
I have selected the default value for 'Propose all items' in the MIGO settings option, to enable early GR against a Scheduling Agreement.
Now, When i try to do a GR with MIGO i am getting the following error message: PU Ordered quantity exceeded by 123,456
I beleive we can change this 'Error Message' into a 'Warning Message'. Please help with the configurations to do this.
Please help. This is very urgent.
Thanks,
Manjuhi,
I have implemented whatz mentioned in OSS Note # 741385.
Use transaction CMOD create a new project.
Enter MEVME001 as enhancement, select EXIT_SAPLEINR_001 function module
under Components, and enter the following source code in INCLUDEs ZXM06U28:
data: ls_ekpo like ekpo.
move pot to ls_ekpo.
f4 = ls_ekpo-menge + ls_ekpo-menge * ls_ekpo-uebto / 100.
Activate the function and exit the project.
Note that in transaction MIGO the 'propose all items' field should be set
to the default values.
But still when I check the document i am getting the same error PU Ordered quantity exceeded by 123,456
Please advise. This is very very urgent.

User exit M06B0002 Changes to comm. structure for purchase requi
Hi Folks,
Do any of you fine guys if there is a note to implement to get the same tables available in "M06B0002 Changes to comm. structure for purchase requisition release" as you have in "M06B0005 Changes to comm. structure for overall release of requisn. "?
In M06B0005 you have:
""Lokale Schnittstelle:
*" IMPORTING
*" VALUE(I_CEBAN) LIKE CEBAN STRUCTURE CEBAN
*" EXPORTING
*" VALUE(E_CEBAN) LIKE CEBAN STRUCTURE CEBAN
*" TABLES
*" C_EBAN STRUCTURE EBAN
*" C_EBKN STRUCTURE EBKN
but in M06B0002 you only have:
""Lokale Schnittstelle:
*" IMPORTING
*" VALUE(I_CEBAN) LIKE CEBAN STRUCTURE CEBAN
*" EXPORTING
*" VALUE(E_CEBAN) LIKE CEBAN STRUCTURE CEBAN
I find this a little bit odd???
Thanks in advance,
ThomasHi,
Are there any custom defined characteristics for your release strategy ? SAP gives you certain characteristics like Purchase Order value, material group etc on which Release strategy can be determined but other than SAP defined fields if you want some other fields then you need to pass the value for this particular field in your exit.
Also if you are using this exit , are you passing the values to the export structure e_cekko ? You can use :
move-corresponding i_cekko to e_cekko.
One more point is if you have custom defined fields for your exit then that has to be also passed to c_ekko.
The important point here is that if you are using this exit then all the characteristics that you have defined in config for release strategy determination has to be passed to the export structure. If any of them is blank then release strategy will not be determined.

ML81N - M7 022 - PU Ordered quantity exceeded by
I have a PO (NB) with item cat = D
The Over Del Tol on the Item->Delivery is flagged and the services have unlimited tolerances and unlimted overall service tolerances. The item qty = 1 AU as you expect and the service qty is 100 EA.
When I process ML81N to accept a service entry sheet for 1 EA on that service it gives "M7 022 - PU Ordered quantity exceeded by 1 EA"
Other info:
- the service was pulled into the service entry sheet via Adopt/Select Services i.e. it´s a planned service
- no other sev. entry sheets exist
SAP OSS and forums only mention the need to flag the Item -> Delivery Unltd Over Del Tol flag, which is flagged in my case.
Any ideas?Hi Gurus,
I cannot 'accept' a Service Entry sheet.
It just gets to the 'will be accepted' status.
When I press save, I get more or less the same error.
The error in my case is: "PU Ordered quantity exceeded by 1 AU : 1808".
I am wondering why this happens because when we tested it in a dev box, there were no problems accepting the entry sheet.
I am not very familiar with SAP MM and your help will be welcomed.
Info:
This occurs when we test it in the test box
The Delivery > Overdelivery tolerance limit flag is enabled.
The Services > Overfulfillment tolerance flag is disabled.
Changing the qty in the SES does not help.
Thanks.
