Hi sri ram,
Sales document type, item type and item category
The sales document type, item type and item category define the way in which advertising sales are replicated and controlled in the system.
The sales document type is specified during sales document creation.
The item type and category are specified during document item creation. Active item types for sales document processing are defined in Customizing.
Document items of various item types or categories can be created in a sales document.
The item types are defined in the system.
Admissible item categories for each sales document type have been defined in Customizing.
Activity
Menu path
Assign item categories to sales document types
SAP Media --->Advertising Management --->Sales -
>Order --->Sales Document -
>Sales Document Item -
>Assign Item Category to Sales Document Type
If you assign the standard item and full and partial credit memo item categories to a sales document type, you can replicate associated business transactions in a single sales document by creating order and credit memo items in this document.
See also: Item Category
Create document flows
The sales document type, item category and copying variant control document flow.
To define document flow, specify the copying variants to be used to create follow-on documents and/or follow-on items for each sales document type and item category. Copying variants define the sales document type and item category in follow-on documents and/or follow-on items, such as those for credit memos or those used to convert offers to orders.
Create credit memo items
This function copies selected data from a template item within a sales document. You want to copy all schedule line data for a complaint into a new document item. The copying variant indicates that the item category for the new item is a credit memo.
Unlike a document item copy with reference to a document item, the system retains manual changes to the schedule line, such as manual surcharges or discounts, ad spec assignments or quantity changes for a document item copy with reference to a schedule line if you have defined the schedule line copying variant accordingly.

  • Copy Control : Sales document to Sales document

    Dear Experts,
We have a requirement relating to copy control between sales document to sales document i.e Creating a contract with reference to an already existing data.
    Please consider the following example:
    Contract A
    Valid from: 01-01-2010
    Valid to: 31-12-2010
    Material Code: X1
    Material Pricing Group: Y1
To enable the users to create a contract with reference to this existing one i set up the copy control between the document types:
    Source document type: ZM05
    Target document type: ZM05
In VA41 transaction i chose "Create with Reference" and chose the contract tab and entered Contract "A" number.
In the overview screen the system populates the valid from date as : 01.01.2011 - At item level validity dates is copied same as of contract A.
Second observation is certain material specific data such as material pricing group does not get copied. Client wants such details also to get copied over into the new contract.
Could you please provide your valuable inputs on where we can make the settings to copy the data exactly as it was maintained in the existing contract ?
    Thank you

  • Issue in Pricing Type in copy control: sales document to sales document

    Hi,
I am trying to create a sales order with reference to quotation.
I have a pricing procedure assigned to both documents.
Now the business scenario is -
    1. Create a quotation. for a material of x quantity
    2. create a sales order with reference to the quotation and even if though quantity is changed in the sales order for the same material but total price should not change.
I am trying to do this through copy control.
in copy control for item category AGN i have selected pricing type E.  but still when i change the quantity in sales order. the total price is changing.
can anybody help me with pricing type.

    Hi,
Your pricing is in relation to quantity so when you change it price automatically Calculated by system
For your requirement go to V/06
go to details of condition say std PR00 and change CALCULATION TYPE as amount

  • Copying Control: Sales Document to Sales Document delete

    hello all,
I want to prevent users to create a sales order refer to another sales order.
They always do that in my company, so we have a big document flow and proces are most of the time false :-(.
I'm a junior in customizing and I htought I can delete the copying control between my sales order type to sames order type.
What do you think about it? what can be the impact?
    thanks for your help!

    Dear Swiercz,
There is no harm in Deleting Copy control between Order type to Order type, provided you are sure that either of the Order type would not be used to create other Order type.
Alternatively, in you copy control settings between Order types, you can delete all the Item Categories that are listed under Item.. This would make sure that no data is copied from one document into other...
    Hope this helps...
    Give points if useful...

  • Problem with copy control from sales document to billing document

    Hi,
I have a copy control from a sales document to a billing document,
which is copying everything from the sales document, except the
conditoin values. Any ideas on why will a copy routine won't copy the
condition values from a source document? I don't even have a document
pricing procedure assigned to my billing document. Any setting, that
we can do to for the conditions to get copied from the sales document
to the billing document...just as they are in the sales document?
Thanks for the help in advance.

    In IMG,
Implementation Guide for R/3 Customizing (IMG)
    -->Sales and Distribution
       -->Billing
          -->Billing Documents
-->Maintain Copying Control For Billing Documents
-->Copying control: Sales document to billing document
What setting do you have for your source sales document type to target billing document type? Select the row that shows the document type you are interested in and double click on item(on the left pane). Select the item category and do display. What value do you see under the 'Pricing Type' and 'Price Source'?
May be that is where some config setting is missing.

  • How to configure a new third party sales document type?

    Hi SAP SD gurus,
I am new to the SAP world, I need your help in configuring a new third party sales document type for a site.
There are existing third party document types being used in the region, but the client wants an entirely new third party document type that is activated for CREDIT MANAGEMENT.
I just need your inputs, as how to go about it. If I copy from an existing third party sales doc. What additional steps do I need to follow? Like Item category config, copy control settings, and credit management.
Is there a need to create new billing types?
Also as per process, by creating a new document type, how will it affect the logistic processes, if any?
Thanks a lot in advance for your valuable inputs.

    Hello,
You can create new document type under following customization path
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Define Sales Document Types
Now create new document type by copying the standard document type OR
    Now go to
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Sales Document Item>>Define Item Categories
which is already defined for third party sales (TAS)
Now assign this iteme category to your new document type
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Sales Document Item>>Assign Item Categories
Assignment needs to be done in combination of sales document type and item category group (BANS)
    Now
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Schedule Lines
Assignment of schedule line is already done as you are using the standard one.
Lastly, you may need to maintain copy control for your newly created sales document type for this go to
SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Maintain Copy Control for Sales Documents
(Copying Control: Sales Document to Sales Document)
Here you can define copy control requirements.

  • Copying pricing procedure from sales document to another

    Hi all,
I have a sales document type ZDSI that has a specific pricing procedure and one
sales document type DR that doesn't have pricing procedure.
When I create a sales order DR referencing the sales document type ZDSI ,
the item is copied but without any pricing procedure (total sum is 0).
On the Copying Control: Sales Document to Sales Document - I already tried to set for the item category pricing type = G,E & D.
I need that the system will use the pricing procedure that was copied for the item ,do you know how can I change it to copy from the referenced sales document?
    TX
    Dana Siman

    Hi dana siman
In VOV8 For the document type DR check what Document pricing procedure (Dupp) has been maintained and also check in the document type ZDSI what Document pricing procedure (Dupp) has been maintained. In both the document types DR and ZDSI  Dupp should be same  So if you have pricing procedure RVAA01 and its Dupp is A then check in the DR document type what Dupp has been maintained. If the Dupp is same then the same pricing procedure will get copied

    Sahil,
I suggest you close this question, since this is an MM forum.  You are unlikely to get many answers here.
I also suggest that you first perform a search, before re-posting this question elsewhere.
First, search within the forums (search box on the upper right of this screen).  I just tried a search on 'copy control' and got over 20,000 hits.  Surely one of these posts will be able to help you.
Next, check online help. This help is generic, and not generally specific to a particular industry:

    Hi,
This can be done at the ITEM CATEGORY level
Goto the transaction code VOV7 and choose your item category and maintain the COMPLETION RULE with B, then once the Source document was fully referenced then next time when you  want to create the sales order with reference to the order referenced already, system will throw error.
    Try this,
Hope it will serve your purpose.

    Hi,
Speak with your SD consultant. They can set up the copy control in SD so that the sales order is populated in the invoice in field ZUONR (Assignment). This will then copy to the assignment field in accounting.
Alternatively you can use an exit to populate another field during the Posting.

  • Immediate Transfer Order Creation not occuring for Sales Document Type

    Hello gurus,
I have a situation where a transfer order is not being created immediately for a specific sales document type.
Here is an example document flow of a desired scenario where the system is working:
    Sales document type:  ZOR
    >  Delivery type:  LF
    >  WMS transfer order
The Item Category in this scenario is TAN.
Here is an example of the document flow in the current scenario where the system is not working:
    Sales document type:  ZPRD
    > Delivery type:  LF
The Item Category is also TAN in this scenario.  The only identifiable difference in these scenarios is the sales document type.  For the ZOR SaTY, a Transfer Order prints immediately once the delivery is created.  For the ZPRD SaTY, a Transfer Order needs to be manually created after delivery creation.
Is there a configuration setting that is controlling this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for the link.  When I insert the WMTA output type in the delivery output header, the Transfer Order is automatically created.
The problem I'm running into now is the configuration setting that controls this.  I thought I figured it out when going to this IMG path:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide  -->  Logistics Execution -->  Shipping -->  Basic Shipping Functions  -->  Output Control -->  Define Print Parameters Shipping
When selecting the Delivery Note, the shipping point I was using was not configured in this location.  I added the shipping point into this transaction, saved, and created a new order & delivery.  However, the WMTA output type still was not automatically inserted into the delivery when saving.  Is there another location I should be looking to fix this so that when I enter an order with a particular Shipping Point, the WMTA output type automatically appears in the delivery?

  • Billing block for customer for sales document type OR

    Hi
I want to block a customer for a particular sales document type OR
    How to do it?
    Regards

    Hi Nikhil
There is a field called "Check Partner Auth.", but it is necessary to create the order from a contract. This field is in sales document customizing VOV8.
    SAP Documentation:
    Check partner authorizations
This check determines whether a partner is authorized to release against a contract.
    Procedure
Here you can specify whether the check is to be performed against the partners in the contract or the partners in the customer hierarchy. If you do not want the check to be performed, leave the field blank.
When you create a release order for a contract, the system determines whether a partner is authorized to release against the contract. The check is performed at header level. Depending on the rule you enter in this field, the system checks against one of the following:
    Partners in the contract
If the partner has the partner function AG (sold-to party) or AA (sold-to party authorized to release) in the contract, the system accepts the partner as the sold-to party for the release order.
    Partners in the hierarchy
If the sold-to party of the contract is at a higher level in the customer hierarchy to the partner who wants to release against the contract, the system accepts the partner as the sold-to party for the release order.
    Note
If you create a contract with reference to another contract, the system does not run a check and it copies all the partners created in the target contract. If you do not want it to do this, use copying control in Customizing to change it.
    Regards.
    Mikel
