  • Adobe Livecycle Designer ES 2 - Adobe Dynamic XML Forms?

    How can you convert a dynamic XML form design in a static PDF Form design? I tried to save a dynamic XML Form as a static PDF Form, and then tried to preview it in Designer but the layout change scripts were working which should work only for dynamic xml forms and not for the static pdf forms. Please suggest another way to do it. Thanks in advance.

    You use Master Pages to set layout that you want to use on multiple pages.
    Design what you want in a Master Page and then assign it to the pages you want in Object>Pagination>Place: and choose On Page> whatever you called your Master Page.

  • How can i convert the HTML information in XML form to a PDF?

    Hi does any body know how can i convert the content of an HTML field in a XML Form in a regular text to include in a PDF in a Java program?

    Hi ,
    On the tool bar you have an option "Browser" which is next to "HTML Editor" .
    You know that for using these elements wo have to map them with Data Schema.
    Step by step
    1. In data Model Under Data Schema Add a child and name it Read_More.
    2. In the left hand corner ,click on tab Type and from the drop down select "rid"
    3.Click on the "Browser" from the toolbar (as told earlier) and drag and drop it on the form.
    4. Drag the Data schema which u have made(Read_more) and drop it on the browser on form. On right hand side u will se the mapping done.
    5.Click on the "Browser" which is there in the form and on the right hand side of the form u will see the property window.
    6.In property window change the value of action property to "Item Entry point"
    7. Repeat step 3 and 4 in Render and show form but using "label" nad not browser.
    Do not forget to add Save button in Edit Form.
    This will solve your problem.
    PS:Rewards Point Please.

  • Converting Livecycle Dynamic XML pdf forms to Word?

    How do I convert a dynamic XML pdf form created from Livecycle designer ES to Microsoft word? I have Acrobat X and when I click on File -> Save As - > and choose 'Save as type' as "Microsoft Word Document (*.doc)", I am getting this message: "Save as failed to process this document. No file was created."
    Is this because its a dynamic XML form with many javascripts in the form design? if not, what could be the cause of this that is making the file not savable to word format? All of these forms are created from Livecycle designer and I have tried using Acrobat X to convert them to word but it doesnt work.

    Hi,
    don't expect an exact result.
    The conversion always is an interpretation of the given layout and may be not perfect in all details.
    There is not script you can add to a button to automate this workflow, especially not  for Reader, as it doesn't have any export functions.
    I tested Adobe ExportPDF services, which are available in Reader XI, but those only export the shell PDF of a XFA form, so it's not usable for those PDF's (image below).

  • Converting an Acrobat 8  (Static) PDF form to an Acrobat 8 (Dynamic) XML Form

    We have a PDF file that started in MS Word 2007. The form was then saved as an Acrobat 8 (Static) PDF form. Is there a way to save this form to a dynamic XML form so all users can utilize the text boxes and drop down menus? At this time, only Acrobat Pro users have the ability.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    If the form has dynamic fields added to it then even users using the free Adobe Reader will be able to fill in the form. However, if it is save-off-line that you are looking for then you will need to extend the form using Reader Extensions.
    Can you be more specific about your requirements?

  • Converting string to XML

    Dear All,
    I am using PI 7.1
    I am trying to invoke a third party SOAP API which accepts request in the form of a string which has embedded xml and also return a string which has xml embedded in it.
    To send the xml as string, I used the feature "Retun as XML" in mapping and it worked fine.
    But the response which has xml embedded, needs to be converted back to XML message.
    I understand that we can write parsers in java, ABAP and also do XSLT mapping.
    Just wanted to know that is there any "out of the box" feature to do the same.
    Please refrain from providing links to java mappings or xslt as I have gone through them already.
    regards,
    Piyush

    Hi Piyush,
                      All parsers will fail to parse the XML message you are getting. Since you are getting the following tag twice within the XMl
    "<?xml version="1.0"?>"
    This tag can be present in an document only once in begining of the document. First you need to remove this tag from appearing in source.
    Suppose you are able to do that then your XML structure will become something like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    <ns1:AuthenticateResponse xmlns:ns1="urn:Login" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance">
    <return xsi:type="xsd:string"><MessageResponse sessionid=";jsessionid=FxZLTxtJnXJttpW6gMhJ06kyn00tfSgjt9ZwbzJ55CXGn92S8L6f!-444760742!1311845684753" status="SUCCESS" topicprefix="ND-DSK-117.CXL_HMEL_DB"><Entity name="REF_PERSON"><Property name="last_access_dt" value="20110728145937" type="DATE"/><Property name="modify_person_num" value="21" type="INTEGER"/><Property name="persontopic" value="350523952" type="STRING"/><Property name="login_result_ind" value="0" type="INTEGER"/><Property name="login_result_reason" value="" type="STRING"/><Property name="bypass_drafts" value="0" type="STRING"/><Property name="stl_check_swap_option_pricing_end" value="1" type="BOOLEAN"/><Property name="stl_update_provisional_cashflows" value="0" type="BOOLEAN"/><Property name="stl_autoinvoice_costs" value="1" type="BOOLEAN"/><Property name="stl_allow_payments_from_agents" value="0" type="BOOLEAN"/><Property name="stl_payment_allocation_at_invoice_detail_level" value="1" type="BOOLEAN"/><Property name="last_db_reloaded_on" value="" type="DATE"/><Property name="xl_mode_ind" value="0" type="INTEGER"/><Property name="Xchange_enabled" value="1" type="INTEGER"/><Property name="Xchange_server" value="XCHANGE" type="STRING"/><Property name="ipaddress" value="10.60.4.80" type="STRING"/><Property name="appname" value="CommodityXL" type="STRING"/><Property name="version" value="7.XL7.08.17E" type="STRING"/><Property name="econfirm.server.enabled" value="0" type="BOOLEAN"/></Entity></MessageResponse></return>

    Then you can use the following java mapping code to remove the SOAP envelop.

  • Convert FMB to XML File on Unix

    Hello,
    I want to convert a FMB-File to XML in my HP-UX-Middletier-Environment.The Script frm2xml.sh is only shipped with IDS.
    Can someone upload the frmf2xml.sh from a linux or Solaris IDS-Enviroment?
    Robert

    So if we were to keep text-based source files, the process would have to be:
    - check-out to local working copy
      - convert XML to FMB
        - make changes using Forms Developer
      - convert FMB to XML
    - commit to svn
    I'm concerned about the side-effects of the conversion process (edge-cases, incompatibilities), and I also expect that even with some automation, the above will be a pretty slow process that will slow the team down. I guess we'll probably stick with fmb.
    I guess as a compromise, it may be worthwhile generating the xml or fmt alongside the fmb and committing both. At least we'd then have a text-based file to compare revisions with. So the process then becomes:
    - check-out to local working copy
      - make changes using Forms Developer
      - generate XML from FMB
    - commit both to svn
    I'm still baffled as to why Oracle has chosen a binary source format, even 15 years ago. This basically precludes a vast number of tools and techniques that are essential to the software craft :(

  • Convert XMLList to XML in AS3?

    Hello,
    I am trying to figure out how to convert an XMLList that I
    retreived from an XML instance back into well-formed XML in Flash
    CS3. Here is what I am doing.
    - I have an XML document loaded and I am displaying the
    contents in a datagrid component (which is working well).
    - I am then filtering the XML to obtain a subset of data by
    first obtaining an XMLList representing all elements of my XML
    instance and then filtering the list on a particular element (this
    is working well).
    - Now I want to display my filtered results in the datagrid
    and here lies the problem because the datagrid can't use an XMLList
    as a dataprovider. How do I convert this XMLList back into well
    formed XML so I can use it as my grid's dataprovider? I need to
    somehow get a root tag back on.
    Could I somehow use toXMLString() and then convert that to
    XML?
    Thank you in advance for any advice.
    TH

    I solved this so I thought I would post how I did it in case
    anyone would find this useful.
    1. First, convert your XMLList to an xml string:
    var yourXMLString:String = yourXMLList.toXMLString();
    2. Next, add a root tag to the beginning and end of your xml
    string.
    yourXMLString=
    "<your_root_tag>"+yourXMLString+"</your_root_tag>";
    3. Convert the string to xml.
    var yourNewXML:XML=new XML(yourXMLString);
    yourNewXML is now well-formed xml and will work as a
    dataprovider.

    Technically speaking, a piece of text must be well-formed before it can be called an XML document. So you cannot yet say the returned text is XML.
    The first thing to do is to check whether it is. Use, for example, isXml(someString) to check whether someString is well-formed XML.
    There is no one standard way to convert text to well-formed XML. This is because there are infinitely many ways in which text can fail to be well-formed. The easiest solution for you will be to learn the rules for well-formed XML.
    Any elementary book on XML will teach you that. If you find books old-fashioned, then you could instead google well-formed xml .

  • Convert string into XML inside BPEL

    Hello ,
    How to convert string into xml format ? And make element and define attribute inside it ??

    There are several problems with your input:
    1. Your xml is not well-formed because the attribute values should be enclosed withing double " quotes and not single ' quotes;
    2. You use a prefix (sml) for the folowing part but you dont define the namespace:
    <ids>
    <VID ID="new"/>
    <data>
    <*sml:*attr name="std">
    <sml:value></sml:value>
    </sml:attr>
    <sml:attr name="xde">
    <sml:value></sml:value>
    </sml:attr>
    </data>
    </ids>
    Complete message should be:
    <ids xmlns:sml="somenamespace">
    <VID ID="new"/>
    <data>
    <sml:attr name="std">
    <sml:value></sml:value>
    </sml:attr>
    <sml:attr name="xde">
    <sml:value></sml:value>
    </sml:attr>
    </data>
    </ids>
    3. Do you assign this expression to a variable that is based on the schema of your message you want to parse

  • Does Ipad adobe reader allow to fill a  dynamic xml form created on LiveCycle?

    The form was created using LiveCycle Designer ES3 for the purpose of being filled out on the spot at the client and then submitted as email attachment. However, Adobe reader does not seem to be able to open it giving the following error:
    "Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document..."
    The form is dynamic XML, and in the description of the Adobe Reader for the Ipad, it mentions that it is capable of opening forms under the Livecycle rights.
    However, if the Reader can not open dynamic XML's, how can I convert the form into a compatible fillable form for the Ipad?
    Thanks.

    LiveCycle Dynamic XML Forms are not supported in the Mobile versions of Adobe Reader.

  • How can I manipulate structure tags in LiveCycle XML form

    Have a form that was created in LiveCycle by another company.
    Need to make it a flat, tagged, PDF, i.e., to look like the form but not have actual fields.
    It has structure tags, but they're not acceptable, and in Acrobat I'm unable to manipulate them.
    When I go to LiveCycle and look at PDF Structure tags, it just has this message: "PDF Structure can only be used in PDF forms that contain artwork."
    When I try to optimize the form fields away in Acrobat, it says "This PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized"
    Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

    Had to keep moving with this, hopefully someone will come up with a better solution, here's how I got a flat PDF: saved the form as encapsulated postscript, then in Windows Explorer right-clicked on the *.eps files and converted to PDF ... had to delete the useless tags that were created during that process, retagging manually ... but it's giving me what I need. I was surprised at no loss of resolution, and all the text is taggable.

  • Custom Actions in XML Forms Builder

    Hello everyone,
    We are starting a project to replace our current intranet with Enterprise Portal + KM + Collaboration.  Our current intranet has many interactive foms developed as ASP pages for doing thinks like requesting new user ID's etc.  These forms are attached to a workflow engine (Ultimus) where they trigger various workflow processes.  I am exploring wherther or not these existing ASP based forms can be replaced by XML forms developed on the form builder.
    Can XML forms be developed that trigger external actions like generatating a workflow?  I have not found anything in the documentation so far that would indicate how this is accomplished?
    Thanks,
    -Matt Schababerle

    Thank you Detlev, that is what Im looking for.
    I knew that XML forms are primarily for document creation.  I'm just trying to think 'out of the box' and find a way to convert all the ASP forms we have to a standard, portal-based format.
    The forms I am reviewing are mostly simple pages that would basically validate and save the form data, then kick off a single workflow task. For existing forms, we will utilize URL iViews and link to the existing form.
    For new forms, it sounds like we could probably make the XML forms builder work, but would probably be better off just creating basic .jsp or web dynpro pages to handle the data validation and external workflow submission.  What do you think?
    Thanks for your help!
