Copa assessment value as base for allocation of other costs

Hello,
We have a scenario wherein certain costs like travel, communication should get allocated in copa based on Employee Cost...
This employee cost is getting transferred to copa through assessment in two stages  namely as Direct employee cost and Indirect Employee cost...
Now the requirement is based on Employee cost (i.e. Direct employee + Indirect employee cost) above said expenses like travel and communication should get allocated to say respective profit center.. please refer the attached working...
Is it possible to do allocation like this wherein based on one assessment cost value, which is taken as base for allocation of other costs...

Hi,
So you mean that you have 1 value field for direct expenses and 1 value field for indirect expenses?
If this is the case there is not way (automated) I can think about for you to do an allocation based on costs that are already diluated in thes two value fields. Manual calculation and update of SKF could be an option.
But you could think of rethinking the way you allocate your costs. For example cycle 3 might come earlier in the process and allocate travel, communication into cost centers where you post the employee expenses. then you can allocate employee cost centers to COPA as direct/indirect.

    Search using approriate keywords in SDN, u get most of the details, i have now done the same searched and have pasted below .
    Try ME2N.
    Click on the "dynamic selections" icon and add the release indicator as an additional selection. Enter the release indicators that you class as "awaiting approval" and you will then have your list.
    The ME2* series of transactions are not that much use prior to 4.7, the layout is poor. But if you have 4.7 or later you can get the screen to use the ALV format and this transforms the ME2* (i.e. ME2L, ME2M, ME2N etc.) transactions into VERY useful reports.

    My client buys material from a importer who includes all excise and Addtional duties in PO Price.
    Ex:
    Unit Price: INR 80
    BED: INR 8
    Ecess: INR 3
    HS Ecess:INR 2
    Additional duties: INR 7
    PO Price: INR100
    and CST : INR 2 (2% on PO price)
    Now what should be the assessable vale or excise  base
    Is it Unit price or PO price?

    Hi Naveen,
    Assessable value is nothing but a value of the material. It will be calculated in 2 types
    Section 4A :
    Assessable value = Max.retail price - abatement %
    here abatement % will be provided by the gorvenment.
    Section 04 :
    Assessable value = state invoice price (SIP) - ED - Ecess - HS cess
    SIP = all india price (AIP) -  taxes
    AIP = (qty x value) - retail margin % - rs% - tax for rs%
    This is how assessable value will be calculated.

  • COPA Assessment Cycle using KEU5 for multiple controlling areas

    Hello All,
    There is an organization with operations in several countries. There is a separate controlling area for each country. There is one controlling area, for instance, for Germany and another for Netherlands.
    A problem is encountered while executing transaction KEU5 for multiple controlling areas in parallel. For instance, when one user from Germany executes KEU5 for an assessment cycle for Germany controlling area and at the same time another user from Netherlands tries to execute KEU5 for a cycle for NL controlling area, the user from Netherlands encounters an error message u201C'Cycle XXXX 01.02.2008 cannot be started because run group 0000 is locked'.
    Apparently SAP allows assessment cycles for exactly one controlling area to be executed together. This poses a problem since the organization plans to implement SAP in several other countries (There will be one separate controlling area for each country as per the organization structure adopted by the company).
    Any ideas, views or suggestions on the aforesaid issue would be highly appreciated.

    Did you find any text in SAP Documentation saying that "SAP does not allow cycles belonging to different controlling areas to be executed at the same time"...?
    Pls find the following text from SAP Help...
    Parallel Processing of Cycles of an Allocation Type
    Use
    Parallel processing of cycles results in considerable time savings. To process cycles of one allocation type in parallel, they must be assigned to different cycle run groups.
    You define the cycle run groups in the cycle header data. You also assign cycles to the cycle run groups in the header data.
    To process the cycles of a cycle run group in parallel, start the cycles one after the other, if required, in different sessions.
    You are carrying out a cross-company code cost accounting and want to perform the actual assessment in the individual company codes in parallel. Create a cycle run group for each company code and assign the appropriate cycles to these groups. You can then carry out the actual assessment in the individual company codes in parallel.
    When you execute a cycle, you can start a consistency check. The system checks whether you are allowed to execute the selected cycles in parallel.
    Though I didn't come across such requirement, I feel, my earlier suggestion will work out...

  • COPA Assessement - reciever tracing factors getting multiplied

    HI All,
    COPA assessment cycle has been defined to send the costs from cost centers to COPA profitability segments.  Posted revenue has been used as tracing factors. My question is regarding calculation of tracing factors.
    The revenue for receivers is 22.22 and 444, however when the cycle is executed, the receiver tracing factors as shown in test run screen is 44 and 888. System is internally doubling the receiver tracing factors while executing the cycle in KEU5. Although the receiver values are correct in absolute terms, Users cannot understand why the receiver tracing factors are multiplied
    Why do the tracing factors get multiplied?

    Thanks for responding, My error is coming when i am trying to execute the assessment cycle, In some segments, the tracing factor got multiplied by 10!
    So not always doubles
    When you execute the cycles where reciver tracing factor is displayed in the output, is it always equal to the value that is in the system or some multiple of the same

  • Assessable value in J1ID

    Hi
    What is the relevance of assessable value while creating Subcontracting challan. ?
    What value i ve to maintain in J1ID? Is it the value in material master.
    I am getting an error while creating subcontracting challan ''assessable value not maintained for the material''. When i maintained the value for child material in J1ID, error got solved. But I am not sure what value i ve to maintain here.

       when u create subcontracting challan means ur sending some material to vendor that material have some value so this value picks the value  u have to maintain the moving value of the chld material  in j1id assessable value .

  • Alternate base for ED calculation in PO

    Dear All,
    Kindly guide on below isse.
    Suppose I have to Procure material A @ Rs. 100 then its PBXX / PB00 value will be Rs.100 and system will pick this value as Base for Excise calculation however there is a discount of 25% leading the price of the Material  to Rs. 25.
    Now I want the system to consider this Rs.25 as base for calculation of Excise duty. Please guide to configure the scenario.
    I am using TAXINN procedure.

    As per SAP standard & statutory norms Taxes such as ED and VAT are always calculate on Gross the condition type for the same is BASB in FI tax procedure. If you wish to add any other condition type such as discount & freight which added to Gross and Excise duties should calculate on this ( Basic+ Freight + discount= Excise 10%) to be calculated in that case in subtotal column of MM pricing procedure you need to enter 4
    In the dame way if you wish the system to calculate Excise duties as (Gross u2013 Freight- Discount= Excise 10% ) then you have to adjust in condition record in FV11 for relevant condition type such as JMOP instead of 10% it might be less than 10 you have arrive to that calculation in the reverse way then maintain the condition in the FV11 If you are using TAXINN procedure or if you are using TAXINJ procedure then in FTXP for the relevant tax code you need to change the calculation in the same way but remember if you carry out this changes in FTXP it will be applicable to all the PO which are using  same tax code .Hope this clear.

We are getting excise calculated values on Net value, whereas as per requirement we need to have it on assessable value.     As SAP standard Taxes will calculate on Basic value which is correct behavior.
    Which Tax procedure you are using??
    What is the content of Assessable value does it is having any other values such as Freight, Discount based on that system has to calculate the taxes is this is your requirement?
    It is easy if you are using Tax procedure Taxinn, as you can have control in % while maintaining the condition record using FV11.  You can maintain the way you wants, assume your Basic value is 1000 BED 10% =100, ECS 2% = 2, SHE CESS 1% =1, and wants the BED value should be 120 but the Excise rate is 10% it will calculate only 100 still you can change the rate to 12% to arrive the value to 120. And so onu2026
    If you want to have it without changing the Tax rate, then you can do this by maintaining the sub total 4   in pricing procedure (OBQ3) against the condition which goes up and added to basic value (BASB) and on which system will calculate Tax.

    when i am trying to run KEU5 for period 12 for the previous fiscal year,the system is posting (with warning)but when i am running for period 1 for this fiscal year,the system is not posting.Can anyone please help me out.
    Whether any fiscal year change over or period end/year end activity has to be carried out for the COPA ASSESSMENT CYCLE.

  • COPA Assessment - settlement to different Company codes char. values

    I have some doubts about the COPA assessment possibilities.
    I have such a case - where there is one common Controlling area for 3 company codes.
    The company code is a characteristic used in my Operating Concern.
    I would like to have such a possibility to run the assessment of Administration Cost center in Company code 1 - that would settle its costs to Characteristic values - a group of product indexes and to all company codes (not only to products sold in company code 1, but also in 2 and 3). Is it possible to do it in COPA assessment - or will the system give a warning or error message when trying to settle cost from CC in one comany code to characteristic values in different company codes.
    The key I would use for settlement would be the COGS value field.

    <b>If you do not specify them as receiver characteristics,</b> they <b>are copied automatically from the sender to the receiver profitability segments.</b> If you use the receiver rule "Variable portions", the tracing factors are aggregated over all company codes, business areas and profit centers.
    <b>If you explicitly specify the characteristics as receivers,</b> distribution occurs using the receiver rule. <b>In particular, cross-company-code,</b> cross-business-area or cross-profit-center <b>postings can be created if the characteristics specified for the sender differ from those entered explicitly for the receiver</b>.   • COPA assessment cycles for revenue postings

    Dear SAP gurus,
    is it possible to allocate revenues to COPA via assessment cycles (tcode KEU5)? We have service income related revenues that are not linked to COGS therefore they are posted to Cost Centers but they need to be visible in the cOPA report to have a complete profitability by product. at the moment I am not allowed as revenue are considered statistical postings... any clue how can I solve this?

    I dont agree with the responses provided above.. As far as I know, statistical postings can neither be settled, nor can they be allocated
    Catg 11 cost elements post statistically to Cost Centers.. Hence, you cant allocate...
    For the postings made till now, Manually update COPA using KE21N (If you are using Costing Based COPA)
    Way Forward: Make your service income postings in an Internal Order and you can settle the same to COPA and then allocate using Top Down Dist KE28...
    Try note 605281  and see if it allows to use IO as senders in KEU5....

    Value column in RG1 register is updated based on the Condition Type in Pricing Procedure for which setting is as below:
    Condition Class: B - Prices
    Condition Category: H - Basic Price
    Excise Values are updated in RG1 on creation of Excise Invoice

    Yeah, I knew that already. But what I meant were the extra paranthesis you're using. This is the calculation the way you do it:
    REMAINING=$(($DELAY - (((((($MINUTE + 60)) - $TIME_SET)) % 60))))
    But this is totally adequate:
    REMAINING=$(( $DELAY - (( $MINUTE + 60 ) - $TIME_SET ) % 60 ))
    Notice the 6 vs. 2 brackets in front of $MINUTE?

    You canmaintain the assesible value in material master itself.
    Following document helps you to do this configuration.
    1. SPRO >> Logistics General >> MM >> Configure MM >> Define Structure of Data Screen for each Configuring the Material master Screen Sequence.
    2. Select your screen sequence. Usually it would be 21. Select the same and click on Data Screen in the left frame.
    3. Once the data screens are exhibited, select data screen no. 15, ie. SSq. 21and Scrn 15, which is "Foreign Trade: Import Data". Select the same and click on Subscreens in the left frame.
    4. Go to the last sub screen i.e. 21-15-6 - SAPLMGD1- 0001 and select the same. Click on tab view subscreen and ensure that the subscreen is blank.
    5. Now in the last sub screen i.e. no.6 you delete SAPLMGD1 - 0001 and instead add SAPLJ1I_MATERIAL_MASTER and in the screen no. 2205.
    6. Save the setting.
    7. Create a Material Master and check whether in Screen Foreign Trade - Import, Excise related subscreen appears.

    As per the sap standard in copa there is a option for reset value field / quantity value filed. We
    use this function to reset a quantity or value field depending on the
    billing type (For eg L2 (Debit Memo) G2(Credit Memo). This means that
    the condition value set in the field is replaced by value 0. Due to
    this quantity value filed in copa reflects nil. My client requirement is when profit center document is generated System should display the quantity as nil.
    i have tried some enhancement but these enhancement is only used in  case of PGI . But in the case of debit and credit memo their is no PGI. first we create debit not request (va01) then billing(vf01) then document is generated .
    Can we do the same thing in profit center Accounting? When PCA document
    is generated System should display the quantity as nil.
    Please let me know some user exit or substitution or Bte  we can use ?

    1. '1234 ' -> '00001234'
    2. 'ABCD ' -> 'ABCD '
    Just wonder why the external format '1234 '  has to be converted to '00001234', what's the purpose of doing this converstion?
