Assessable Value/ Excise Base

Hi Experts,
My client buys material from a importer who includes all excise and Addtional duties in PO Price.
Ex:
Unit Price: INR 80
BED: INR 8
Ecess: INR 3
HS Ecess:INR 2
Additional duties: INR 7
PO Price: INR100
and CST : INR 2 (2% on PO price)
Now what should be the assessable vale or excise  base
Is it Unit price or PO price?
Pls advice
Thanks in advance

Hi Naveen,
Assessable value is nothing but a value of the material. It will be calculated in 2 types
Section 4A :
Assessable value = Max.retail price - abatement %
here abatement % will be provided by the gorvenment.
Section 04 :
Assessable value = state invoice price (SIP) - ED - Ecess - HS cess
SIP = all india price (AIP) -  taxes
AIP = (qty x value) - retail margin % - rs% - tax for rs%
This is how assessable value will be calculated.

  • Copa assessment value as base for allocation of other costs

    Hello,
We have a scenario wherein certain costs like travel, communication should get allocated in copa based on Employee Cost...
This employee cost is getting transferred to copa through assessment in two stages  namely as Direct employee cost and Indirect Employee cost...
Now the requirement is based on Employee cost (i.e. Direct employee + Indirect employee cost) above said expenses like travel and communication should get allocated to say respective profit center.. please refer the attached working...
Is it possible to do allocation like this wherein based on one assessment cost value, which is taken as base for allocation of other costs...
Hope am making my requirement clear..
    Thanks

    Hi,
So you mean that you have 1 value field for direct expenses and 1 value field for indirect expenses?
If this is the case there is not way (automated) I can think about for you to do an allocation based on costs that are already diluated in thes two value fields. Manual calculation and update of SKF could be an option.
But you could think of rethinking the way you allocate your costs. For example cycle 3 might come earlier in the process and allocate travel, communication into cost centers where you post the employee expenses. then you can allocate employee cost centers to COPA as direct/indirect.

  • Excise Invoice Selection Vs assessable value in Subcontracting Challan

    Hi,
I have maintained the Assessable Value for my subcontracting components and also there is Excise Invoice exists for this components. While creating Subcontracting challan, system is displaying information message that Material  XXXXXX has an assessable value, but I would like to refer the Excise Invoice.
Hence, when I click the Excise Invoice selection, there is no effect. As per SAP message "The message is for information purpose only. Go ahead with the option selected" system should ignore this message and allow me to select Excise Invoices but it is not happening.
Is this bug or any other config setting to be done to overcome this issue?.
Your replies to resolve this issue is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Babu.

    Hi,
For every excisable material (whether you procure, manufacture or sale) has to be declared as excisable material in table J1ID with appropriate chapter ID, assessable value & CENVAT declaration.
When you send the excisable material to the sub-contractor the material needs to be returned back to your plant within 180 days. If this is not done, then you will have to pay back the excise duty on the material with base value as assessable value. Hence it is required to maintain the assessable value.
    Hope this clears your query.

  • Excise Duty on Assessable Value in PO

    Dear Friends,
The scenario is that weu2019re purchasing material from an outside vendor & therefore creating a PO for that. Now in this scenario the Purchasing Value is different (say e.g Rs 10,000), but excise duties have to be calculated on the Assessable Value (say e.g Rs 8,000). In the std. process, to calculate excise duty we create Tax Code & enter that Tax Code in PO-> Invoice tab in the line item. The system then calculates the Excise duty on the basis of Net Price (field: NETPR) mentioned in the header i.e. the Purchasing Value (Rs. 10,000). While capturing in J1IEX, we mention the assessable value & there the system calculates the excise duty on assessable Value. But our issue is that we want that in PO itself Excise duty shd be calculated on the Assessable Value (i.e. Rs. 8,000) & not on Purchasing Value, so that we can give correct PO to the vendor. At the same time the Purchasing Value (Rs. 10,000) shd also remain in the PO, becoz GR/IR needs to be valued on Purchasing Value ONLY. Weu2019re using CIN. Pls advice.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Which pricing procedure you are using ?
If you are using TAXINN then you can adjust in FV11 say in your case calculation as under.
    Assessable      10     2     1
    10000      1000     20     10
          12.5     2     1
    8000      1000     20     10
Here to arrive the exact value of excise cahne the excise duties as showun like total value of excise is 1000 in order to arrive that 10000 on 8000 change excise duties to 12.5% then it will be equal to 1000. Hope this clears you.

  • Update Excise base value in MRP based and Non-MRP based billing

    Hi Gurus,
We need to update Excise Base Value for Statistical Condition type. How to configure the same ?
Sl.No  Pricing Condition Type      Active   Statistical           Passed to Accounting
    1        MRP Price (Statistical)
    2        Abatement (Statistical)
    3       Surcharge  (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    4      Assessabel value (Statistical)
(No:4 This is the base for calculating Excise duties i.e Excise Base Value)
    5       List Price (Statistical)
    6       Customer Discount(Statistical)
    7      Surcharge(Active&Passed to Accounting)
8      Net Price (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    9      BED   (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    10    ECess  (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    11   SECess  (Active&Passed to Accounting)
    12   Total collected from Customer(Statistical)
Issue: When there is MRP Price higher than the List Price, then the Cutomer will be charged on the basis of Net Price only, but the duties amount to be paid to the government on MRP Price. so in this case I can not calculate Excise Duties on the Actual Net Price condition which is active and passed on to accounting. And always the Excise duties to be calculated on Assessable value(no:4). But that condition type if I make activate then it will pass to accounting and also getting added to the Net Value(KOMP-NETWR). How to come out of this situation.(as per the customer requirement both MRP based materials and non-MRP based materials are also considered in the same sale order i.e with the same pricing procedure).
Becasue of this EXBAS is not getting updated in the J_1IEXCDTL.

    Dear Lakshmipathi,
As per your suggestion, I have maintained Material Assessable Value and then also the duty values are calculating on the basis of Assessable value maintained in the Pricing Procedure. It is not taking the Material Assessable Value into consideration. And it is not getting updated the Excise Base Value.
In which case Material Assessable value will be taken into consideration?
How to update the Excise Base Value in J_1IEXCDTL tables?

  • Excise duty calculation on Assessable value in PO

    Dear Team,
We are facing critical issue in Excise Duty calculation, Excise is calculating on basic price for our normal procurement and we are selling the same at MRP cost... Now the issue is Excise Duty has to be calculated on Assessable value (65% on MRP value) instead of basic price in PO.
    Example:
    Basic Price - 100
    MRP - 300
    Assessable value - 195
    Excise Duty - 24.10 (195*12.36%)
    Regards,
    Sai

    Hi Sai,
Sorry for the late reply. I think you are close to the solution. You should not change the Procedure too much.
MRP and Abatement condition types should be kept independent of calculations in the procedure. It is only for changing the base price already got for BED(JMOP) making use of the routine. If that is the case you will get base price (BASB) added to Excise duties which are modified for calculation of VAT.
    For Eg:
    10 BASB
30 ZMRP(Independent condition type used to store MRP value)
40 ZABA(Independent condition typeused to store Abatement %)
70 JMOP   From 10(Routine XXX which will change the base value for calculating JMOP with a formula MRP*Abatement %)
270 ZVAT(As usual will calculate from BASB+Excise duties)
Hope this is the way you have done this. Steps 30, and 40 should not come in any "From -to"steps.
This is working well with one of our clients.

  • Automatic Excise invoice with Assessable value

    Dear Experts,
Please help me on this issue,
I want to create excise invoice automatically for a billing, excise invoice is sucessfully created but the value for calculating BED is taken form base price. I want the BED to be calcualted from assessable value after deducting some expenses.
    Regards,
    mohdsams

    Dear Smit,
Thanks for your reply, I had assigned the routine 351 in pricing procedure. When an excise invoice is created at background the value is not from assesable value still it is taking the base price value.
If I create excise invoice manually, the amount is coming from assessable value but it is again taking the base price value once it is saved.
    Could you please advise.

  • In MIGO wrong excise base value in import po

    Hi,
We have done import PO applied the excise tax code EI, then we try to create MIGO except miro, but in MIGO in we changed the qty for example in PO 100qty and price 100 so total amount is 10000 so we get excise base value is 1000, but now we change the qty in mIGO as 10qty we get same excise base value as 1000 its not calculted.
please suggest me the any config

    Hi,

  • Excise Base value calculated wrongly in GR

    Dear experts,
When preparing Bought out goods receipt in migo, excise base value is coming wrongly(not as per PO) in sometimes.
If we come back from the screen without saving & then try again. That time the base value is calculating correctly.
This kind of situation is arising inconsistantly. Not regularly.
Please suggest to overcome this issue.
    Regards
    M.Sarathi

    Hi,
When we capture excise invoice in MIGO, SAP will default the excise base value for the total PO quantity.
For eg. if the total PO qty is 100, and if the price is 10 INR, then during MIGO, system will show 100*10 = 1000 INR.
Even if you have posted a partial GR of say 10 nos. already, and you are now trying to post the balance 90 nos in MIGO,
then also, system will suggest the base value as 1000 INR (instead of 900 INR). This is a bug in the excise tab.
Only option is to overwrite the base value manually as per the GR qty.

  • Schudling agreement with time dependent excise base value taking wrongly.

Sub: in migo excise base amount is not changing as per the scheduling agreement type LP ( time dependent ).
I have created the scheduling agreement type LP with time dependent.
I have maintained the price value in two validated period i.e
    01/07/08 to 31/07/08 price is 100 rs.
    01/08/08 to 31/08/08 price is 200 rs.
I have maintained the delivery schedule on
    15/07/08 of quantity  1 nos.
When I am doing the goods receipts for the scheduling agreement on
Document date I am giving  15/07/08.
Posting date I am giving 15/07/08.
I am giving the posting date in the excise  also 15/07/08.
    After item ok.
When I will the excise base value it is taking 200 and also excise duty is also calculating on 200.
When I will post the document
The stock account and GR/IR account is taking 100 only
And excise duty is posting  for rs: 200 only
Why the excise base value is not changing as per the validity period.
What setting I have to do the change the excise base value  as per  the  validity date maintained in the time dependent .
    regards
    jrp

    Hi
I was wondering in J1ID there is validity from date only no to date, Pls tell where you have maintained excise base amount based on from to period.
In J1ID if you maintain any new accesable value for the later date it will consider that.

    Hi,
    Thank you for ur reply,
I have checked in Table (Excise Invoice Item) J_1IEXCDTL , I could not found "Excise Base" value (no value), but, as I have already mentioned that, if I maintain the condition record for PR00 in INR, then it's updating Excise Base. Is there any solution for this? (if condition record in USD)
For Excise Duties we  are doing the round off, this is also affecting while converting the values with Exchange rate i.e.USD to INR. (Differance in values) how to avoide this?
