Copy or Copy Merged in an action

I made an action that begins by Copying Merged and pasting into a new file. But if the original file is already flattened, Photoshop stupidly gives me an error saying it can't copy merged. First of all, shame on Adobe for lazy coding; Copy Merged should simply Copy if there's only one layer. Second, is there any way to say in an action Copy or Copy Merged, as the case may be?

Copy merged only works when there are multiple layers and the selected layer is visible. It’s a little irritating I’ll agree, but not fatal.
Just make your action create a new layer before the “copy merged” and then delete the layer before it switches documents.
Easy workaround!

There is no way to defeat this within the program itself. Here's the workaround:
Duplicate the file (from the Image menu).
Drag the Group or layers from the Layers list from the duplicate to the image window of the original , while holding down Shift.
That will make a "copyless" copy and reposition the copyed material in the exact same position it was on the original.

Yes. The easy way is to do this:
1) Go to System Preferences > App Store, and deselect the "Install OS X Updates" box.
2) Use App Store to download Yosemite
3) When the installer is downloaded and pops up, simply close the installer before starting the upgrade.
4) Look in "Applications" folder for the "Install Mac OS Yosemite" app.
5) Use Command-drag to copy that installer to a flash drive.
You can then copy that installer to any number of Macs that you want to install Yosemite on.
If you want a bootable flash drive then there are many articles on the Web describing how to create those as well.

CHARM and System Copy (Database Copy)

Does anyone have experience on managing System Copy (Database Copy) on the SAP Landscape which are implementing Centralize CHARM on Solution Manager?
<b><u>Case:</u></b>
Transport route : DEV --> QAS --> PRD
CHARM centralize managed in: SLM.
Now, QAS will be refreshed from PRD (by Database Copy) .
How to ensure the following will be kept consistence:
1. IMG Status on satelite systems
2. SMI Project data linked to satelite systems
3. Support Desk data (Support/notification messages, Business
Partner,iBase,etc) related with CHARM linked to satelite systems
4. Status of SMI Project cycle data linked to satelite systems
I have tried it on Simulation landscape, seems many manually steps need to be done (eg. Redo all RFC definitions to the refreshed system) and some of above data are inconsistence ..

Copy From / Copy To

Hi,
Is it possible to use Copy From / Copy To functionality for Add-on Screens?
For Example:
As of now, PO has a copy to for GR-PO, and GR-PO has a copy from for PO. I introduce a new screen for subcontracting DCs alone, for which I need to select a few PO and move the data to my DC screen. Can I add my screen name (DC) in Copy To Menu of PO? Similarly, is it possible to add the Copy From button to my screen, and add PO there?

you can create your own button for user screens, but the functionality behind
the "copy to/from" you have to program yourself ! there's no sap function that will copy the fields for your user form.

Accounting Revenue distribution not copied when copying a bill

Hello,
I'm trying to copy bills (copy single bill functionality) in PS 9.0. When I do this it only copies my account and alternate account and no other values (e.g. affiliate, project, etc.)
I'm sure I missed some set up but can't find which part.
Can somebody help me with this?

Assuming there are no customisations affecting the objects, I suggest you raise a service request with My Oracle Support.
PeopleBooks reads "The system copies all bill information—including any discounts, surcharges, notes, and accounting distributions, but excluding bill status and invoice date—to the new bill. The system creates the new bill with a status of NEW, with a blank invoice date, and with a current date bill added".
My experience is consistent with this information, so your situation is unusual and unexpected. I don't recall any specific setup or configuration that should affect this. I hope that helps.

Copy and paste query in CS3 Action

Some help for an inexperienced user please.
My plan is to open a main image, plus 4 additional images, then record an action to be used with 5 images open. I have a "Stop" inserted at the beginning reminding me to have 5 images open before proceeding.
It will initially copy each of the 4 additional images and paste the content as a new layer in the main image, then close the additional image. This stage will end with only 1 image open with the 4 new layers, ready for the next stage.
In essence I have it working, but it is causing some problems.
Sometimes the Action script says "Select document +4", other times "Select Document -4", and other times "Select Previous document".
I'm kinda assuming the the problem comes from the "referencing" of the docs, but unlike layers, I presume I cannot give trhem specific names for use in the action.
Does it matter in what order I open the 5 images? Since the action is being written using the "main" image, it is always on top and selected when I start.
It also seems to matter in what order I do things. Am I right in assuming I should wait till all 4 layers are pasted before I close any images, as this seems to be causing an issue as once I close 1 image there are only 4 left, so the "referencing" is corrupted.
It should be simple, but when I try it with different images it does not work.
Any commnets welcome.

Just spotted that some of the images have a copyright symbol in the file name at the top line and along the status bar of the document window. This symbol is NOT in the file name. The images are all taken by myself and my wife, so I know they are ours. Not sure if Lightroom is "adding this" or where it comes from, or more importantly what effect it has.
Could this be anything to do with my problem?

Copy a file into multiple folders action

Hello All,
I'm looking for help with a seemingly difficult action; I want to copy a text file into every folder within a location, if its not already there.
I have over 100 projects ready to go out, and need to add a copyright notice .rtf file into each folder. Is there a way I can get Automator to do this? It would save me some time now, and certainly in the future.

You should no longer use the utl_file_dir parameter as this has been deprecated by Oracle and replaced with directory objects. Setting the utl_file_dir parameter will leave your file system open to users corrupting files if you are not careful. The correct thing to do is to create a directory object e.g.:
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. You have to do that yourself and ensure that oracle has permission to read/write to that file system directory.
Then, grant permission to the users who require access e.g....
GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser;Then use that directory object inside your FOPEN statement e.g.
fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');Note: You MUST specify the directory object name in quotes and in UPPER case for this to work as it is a string that is referring to a database object name which will have been stored in uppercase by default.

How do I save a copy of a merged pdf in Lion?

I have created a pdf by merging multiple separate pdf files. There is no longer a 'save as' option. When I save a version, there doesn't seem to be any way to access it. Every time I pull it up, I get one of the individual pdf's. What am missing?

FYI, I found that you could also go to print, save as PDF.

Problem in copying wagetype into IT0008 using Dynamic Action for IT0015

My requirement is based on the Number/ Unit the user enters on the IT0015 screen in the PA30 transaction ,I have created a dynamicaction that will fetch the corresponding wage type from a table T511K and display the screen of IT0008 where the BEGDA would be the Date of Origin of IT0015 and a new record should be added to the already existing wagetypes of IT0008.
I have already created the dynamic action and the BEGDA is getting correctly fetched from the IT0015's Date of Origin. However, I am in doubt as to how to add the corresponding wage type from table T511K in the already existing wagetypes of IT0008. Please help me. Points would be rewarded.

Rahul Technically speaking this can be achieved by any way but would like to share you the nature of wage types which comes in IT0015 and IT008 completely differs functionally along with Respective infotypes Ie The wage types in 15 will be a irregular wage type and in IT0008 Regular wage type and IT0015 have Time constraint 2 and IT0008 have TC 1
So would like you to check once with your functinal before going to the development

I just "upgraded" from Photoshop CS6 to Photoshop CC.
How do I get all my apps, plug ins, actions, automate apps, brushes, etc. from Photoshop CS6 onto/into the proper folders in Photoshop CC so I can use them in CC?
My OS is Mac OSX 10.7.5.

By "apps", I meant things appearing under Automate, like Perfect Resize, Photomate, etc.   All I know to call them is apps, since it sounds stupid to me to call them "automates". I should know, but I don't remember the nomenclature for them.

Copy To - Copy from not working

i am trying to create an invoice drawing from a sale order. but when clicking for 'Copy from' from Invoice its showing the Document wizard and on clicking 'Finish' it is not taking any items to the invoice row. similarly i tried to do it from Sale order to Invoice using 'Copy to' but it is not at all opening any invoice document.
confused with the SBO actions. wat may be the reason?

Just check the following.
You need select the customer code, name
Press the copy from button and choose "sales order"
select the row(yellow color will appear) you want to copy the document.
Draw document wizard will appear.
Press finish
System message will appear for taxcode
Press Yes or No
Then the data will be copied in your target document.
I think you would have done everything and am wondering why the data are not copying.
Just explain your steps please.

HP 4500 printer/copier/scanner - copier & scanner not working

I have an HP Envy 4500 printer/copier/scanner. When I attempt to copy or scan anything, the printer initially sounds like it is going to work, but the screen just reads "copying" and nothing happens. I then hit cancel and the screen reads "cancelling" and nothing happens. I have to turn off the printer and restart to print normally. How do I restore the copy & scanning functions???

I'm sorry to hear you've had issues using the scanner on your Envy 4500, but I will absolutely do my best to help out
I will suggest first that you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet to ensure the printer is getting enough power to function properly. Once that is done though, if you're still unable to copy I will suggest that you update the firmware on the printer, if an update is available. If your printer is connected to your wireless network, please follow this Getting the Latest Firmware and Printer Updates document to get the firmware updated. If you're connected to a computer via a USB cable, then please update via the following link: HP Envy 4500 series firmware update to improve printer performance.
If it doesn't allow you to update the firmware that usually indicates that everything is already up to date.
If the firmware also doesn't seem to change how the scanner functions, let me know and I will look into a reset for your Envy 4500.

Copy To / Copy Fom for Goods Receipt PO

Hi,
Im using SAP B1 2007A PL 46 with B1DE 2.0
Via code I need to create an AP Invoice based on a Goods Receipt PO. I can't seem to find a way to set the Base Document of the AP Invoice so that it is linked to the existing Goods Receipt PO.
The SAP B1 front end has Copy From and Copy To functionality that does just this.
How is done via the DI api? ( I DO NOT WANT TO USE THE UI API)

Hi Ben,
There is no method in the DI API that can generate a target document from a base document so you have to code it yourself. There are 2 options:
1) Export the base document as an XML string and then use XSLT to transform it to get the XML for the target document.
2) Create an instance of a PO object and another for the Goods Receipt. You can then copy the header properties from the PO to the Goods Receipt and loop through the lines child object of the PO to add rows to the goods receipt. If you use text or subtotal lines then you need to check for these as well on the PO and add then to the GRPO as needed.
In either case, you need to set the BaseType, BaseEntry and BaseLine properties of the goods receipt lines to link back to the correct line from the PO.
