Correct link to Download EP with CAF -Guided procedures

Hi
I am looking to build some prototype workflows on CAF- GP ( Guided procedures ) . I understand that GP runs on enterprise portal 6.0 and higher. Could anyone please forward me the correct link to a sneak preview download of enterprise portal - that comes along with GP ? I tried many links given in weblogs on EPs - but none of them take me to a location wherein I can download the sneak preview of EP 6.0 or higher ...
Please help...

Hi ,
Click on the "Downloads" tab on sdn.sap.com and then check on right hand site , you can find all links for download of trail versions.

  • Configuring Exception Handling CAF Guided Procedure

    Hi everybody,
which types of callable objects can define exceptions?  I found an tutorial where Background Callable Object and External Service (BAPI/RFC) can define exceptions, but is it also possible for composite services or WebServices?
And how could I configure a WebService as a background Callable Object?
    Thanks!
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
WebService Callable Object defines exception for sure! It has to be define in the WSDL though.
To define a WS Callable Object, you can have a look at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/4758351fcb1193e10000000a155369/frameset.htm">SAP Help</a>

  • Problems in Guided procedures

    hi
iam creating a workflow in GP using webdynpro for java as a callable object.
Here i am facing the following three problems
1.how to initialize a process which is not initiated from a webdynpro application.
2.how to send an action to multiple users at same time.
3.how to send an array of values to the input parameter of the GP.
Please help me it is very urgent.

    Hi Shanto,
    Please go through my article:
[How to Integrate Two Web Dynpro Applications Using CAF GP|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/e0957cb6-5103-2a10-6d9d-a0a4d68c8bf1]
    a) You can initialize your process from GP Design Time or by presenting your process to the end user. See the following article:
[How to Play with CAF Guided Procedures: A Complete End to End Example - Part II|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/f0975397-8e0a-2b10-4daa-bafd3a83e2a8]
    b) You can send an action to multiple users by assigning that action to a group instead of directly assigning to a user. Now you can assign this group to the set of users of your choice.
    c) I am not sure how will you send an array of values, but I am sure this would be possible. You will need to some RnD with the Web Dynpro code.

  • Imbedded link to downloadable .PDF file not working in Safari

    Two questions:
I imbedded a text link that is supposed to download a .PDF file from my iDisk. However, when I click the text link from my Safari browser I get this error message:
"“A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?”
When I retry by pasting my iWeb published page into Mozilla, the linked file downloads quickly with no problem. However, when I paste it into Internet Explorer's browser, it takes about 4 minutes to download!
Second question: I can't seem to link an image that I inserted on a "My Photos" template page. There is no way to select the image--when I do, it just shows the "blue box" around the image but it doesn't actually select the image itself so I can link it.
I was able to link images in my .Mac pages so I don't know why I can't on iWeb.
If anyone wants to try it, here is the link to that page. ONLY CLICK ON THE BERMUDA AMEX TRAVEL PLANNER TEXT as that is the only link I've imbedded thus far. This page is obviously still under construction.

This is correct, you cannot make the image holders hyperlinks. The solution is to put a Shape over the top of the image that you want to be a link, then Opn Inspector, Graphic Link and make the Opacity 1%, no more no less. Then make this shape a link. Beware that this image will still display in a slideshow and if you insert more images and it moves, the shape will not move with it.
You may also want to click on the shape and then go Arrange > Bring to Front.

  • Guided procedure with SLA

    Hi,
Is it possible to have SLA for a GP process flow?
If any one worked on it please let me know your inputs.
Lets say i am going to have a GP to manage my Master Data in MDM. Each step in the process has a SLA time. How can I achieve it through GP?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You can use the due-date handling feature of Guided Procedure to implement the scenario. Refer the following document on due-date handling in GP:

  • Guided Procedures in ESS/MSS

Could somebody let me know what exactly is the use of Guided Procedures in ESS/MSS packages.
Points will be awarded for brief answers.

    Hi Lina,
Guided procedures are basically for enabling access to multiple backend systems, consistently combining different types of services and applications into processes.
CAF Guided Procedures (CAF GP) is a framework for modeling and managing workflows using simple and user-friendly tools.
Also, GP supports collaboration, ad-hoc items, and offline task management using interactive forms. It provides role-based access to tools and resources and guidance through the workflows at runtime, thereby helping end users to easily identify and complete their tasks.

  • Error in Guided Procedure

    Hello All,
I am currently working on the Customer Master Prototype and am concerned with developing Guided Procedure and Dynpro Components for the same.
Since last week I have been facing an issue with Enterprise Portal. Earlier when i would log on to portal and then click on Design Time it would throw a dump "java.lang.NosuchMethodError" com.sap.caf.gp.eu.ui.<Method Name>.
To resolve this error i went through the stack trace and noted down the Active DC's that are causing problems. I then logged on to NWDS and in the Active DC's tab, scrolled down to the corresponding DC's and did a sync archive. After which i deployed the DC's and it stopped throwing the dump.I went on with the development of the GP till the block level. At the block level when i try to group the
parameters, it throws a dump again.I tried the same way to find the Active DC's and re-sync them but this time the approach did not work and it still throws an error when i try to group the parameters. This also causes the SDM to restart or stop randomly,The error that i am getting is.
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.sap.caf.eu.gp.model.pfw.cons.IParamStructure.canCreateGroup(Lcom/sap/caf/eu/gp/model/pfw/cons/IParameter;)Z

  • Difference b/w various blocks in Guided Procedures?

    Hi experts,
I am new to Guided Procedures and want to know a few things.
Can anyone of you tell the difference between the various blocks in GP.
    Or
Can you give a brief idea about when will we use the different types of blocks in GP?
    1.Sequential
    2.Parallel Dynamic
    3.Precondition Loop
    4.Alternatives
    5.Parallel Block
    6.Post condition loop
Also, can any one tell me the diff between a Process and a Simple Process.
    Thank You.
    Regards,
    Murthy J N.

    Hi Murthy,
As we know that CAF Guided Procedures (CAF GP) is a framework for modeling and managing workflows using simple and user-friendly tools. As a part of the Composite Application Framework (CAF), GP enables access to multiple backend systems, consistently combining different types of services and applications into processes.GP supports collaboration, ad-hoc items, and offline task management using interactive forms. It provides role-based access to tools and resources and guidance through the workflows at runtime, thereby helping end users to easily identify and complete their tasks.
CAF GP enables you to re-use existing services and applications, such as SAP system transactions, remote-enabled function modules (RFCs), CAF Core applications.
Please check the below links for the different tyoes of blocks available at GP:

  • Question to Guided Procedures

    Hello,
in our company I'm evaluating WFM-Tools.
I have two questions about Guided Procedures:
    (1) Is it possible to delete entities of a running process in the CAF Guided Procedures? To stop a process is no problem, but I didn't solve to delete them completely.
(2)Is it possible to escalate dates in a process?
I would be very glad, when someone give me some links, informations, documents e.g. for implementing Composite Applications and Guided Procedures.
    Thanks a lot
    Steve Mussdorf

    Hi Steve,
In addition to the link that Srini gave, you can check the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/39/198141f906040de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">GP documentation</a>.
To your questions - the functionality to delete process instances is not yet available but will come soon.
Changing the process due date is possible using the so-called process control items. See the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/42/cec68872c56baee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm">docu</a>.

  • What is GP (Guided Procedure)

    Hi All,
I am completely new to CAF. Can any one explain me what is GP in CAF.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

    Guided Procedures –Definition
CAF Guided Procedures (CAF GP) is a framework for modeling and managing workflows using simple and user-friendly tools. As a part of the Composite Application Framework (CAF), GP enables access to multiple backend systems, consistently combining different types of services and applications into processes. In addition, GP supports collaboration, ad-hoc items, and offline task management using interactive forms. It provides role-based access to tools and resources and guidance through the workflows at runtime, thereby helping end users to easily identify and complete their tasks.
&#61607;     A framework for modeling and managing processes that involve access to multiple backend systems
&#61607;     Designed to implement business processes with greater ease and speed across multiple applications
&#61607;     Enables users without specialized software development skills to easily set up and execute collaborative business processes
&#61607;     Allows the invocation of various types of applications and services within a process (Web Dynpro, RFC’s…) In real world scenarios we might be dealing with different services, applications like WebDynpro, java, BSP and so on....CAF GP framework enables you to integrate these applications .
