Cost analysis - Plan cost

Hi all
In the cost analysis screen of the productin order display (CO03), how does the system calculates the plan costs column?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Yiming

Hi
The plan costs come from the preliminary costing of the production order.

• Target cost and planned cost

What is the difference between Target cost and planned cost in discrete production orders? Please advise.

Dear
Planned costs will be updated after creation of production order.
Target costs will be updated after delivery of the production order.
Plan cost = Plan qty X Planned price (std. cost estimate)
Actual cost = Actual qty X Actual price
Target Cost = Actual qty X Planned price (std. cost estimate)

• Actual costs and Planned Costs

HI Friends
I want to know the Main Tables from which i can get the Actual costs and Planned Costs for the given Cost element or object number
I tried with table COEP and i got actual costs up to all cost elements in the given controlling area and in given cost center , but for some cost elements, this tables does not have any entries...
So is there any other way to get these Actual costs and
from where i can find the Planned Costs
Reagrds Rk

Hi
I already checked these tables but i didn't get the exact data
for actual costs i checked COEP but some costs are missing there
and i could n't find the field BENKZ in coep table
I am comparing these values with the standard transaction S_ALR_87013611
but not getting exact details in my program
can you please help me in this regard..
Does anybody worked on this transaction S_ALR_87013611 , then please explain me the logic how it is getting the actual and planned costs

• Unable to copy Actual cost to Planned cost via CJ9CS

I am trying to copy actual cost to planned cost for secondary cost elements via CJ9CS; currently there is a variance.
How can I match my planned cost with the actual cost.
We have already applied OSS note 304119 and we are on ver. 4.7.
Has any one used enhancement COOMKPT4 and function exit EXIT_SAPMKPT4_010 Or is there any other way to copy the actual cost to the planned cost?
Thanks
Amit

Hi Sudhir,
Thanks for the quick reply.
CJEN won't work for us, we are trying to find a way to fix CJ9CS.
When we do CJ9CS the price is getting copied over from the price defined in KP26 instead of the Actual price.
We have to find a way for the system to disregard the plan price while copying and just take the actual price.
Any clues how we can do that?

• Diff erence between target cost and plan cost

what is the diffenece between target cost and plan cost , in product cost controlling?

Hi
Plan cost is some thing anticipated cost i.e cost estimates here we can say the standard cost.
Target cost is the cost of (yeild) of the production at plan cost.
Ex: Standard cost for X product is 10
production lot size is 100
production yeild is 90
then your plan cost will be = 1000
and target cost will be = 900
and the variance of 100 of 10 units will be as variance.

• Standard cost and planned cost

Hi Gurus,
Can you illustarate the difference between planned cost and standard cost by taking one example.
Thanks&Regards
Janardhan Reddy.p

Hi Srinivas Muthyala,
I would like to confirm my understanding regard the points below also;
1. Production Variance is calculated by using PLANNED cost;
2. STANDARD cost is only the value for benchmarking; and
3. I found PLANNED cost = 0, STANDARD cost = x & MOVING AVERAGE cost = x (in some cases)
that means no issued production order.

• Planned cost for Results Analysis

Dear Friends,
SAP reads line items from COSS and COSP to determine the planned cost for result analysis. What line items does it consider while summing up the planned cost. I wish to reconcile the planned cost as considered in result analysis.
I am considering the line items from COSS and COSP where
Value type = 1 or 11
Beltyp = 1
Version = 0
Business Transaction ????
What values should I put for business transation ? Or is there a SAP standard report which matches with the planned cost value of result analysis.
Standard report S_ALR**** does not always match with the planned cost value in result analysis. These reports read values from RPSCO table which is a summary table.
Regards
Jayesh.

After releasing production order all primary and secondary costs get attached to the order.
You can see planned cost in Tcode:CO02>>>>Goto>>>>>>>Costs>>>Analysis>>>under cost trend layput.

• Issue with calculation of planned cost.

Hi,
Can anybody explain me the s_alr_87013127 report. I am going to implement the PP orders process in plant.
After creating and releasing the order the planned price in the report is displayed as per below
In the above screen shot SMH cost is getting update in plan cost debit and material cost maintained as per in material master is getting update in plan cost credit. Please explain me why it is happening so that further analysis can be done.
The material type is HALB and it is not going to be sale to customer. The settlement category against the order is also maintained as MAT as per below screen shot.
Hence, the order is not settled through KO08 instead of that it is direct issue from stock through MVT Type 901 and against that cost is booked to its respective cost center as per below screen shot.
Please explain me why only plan credit cost is captured instead of considering the both plan credit & debit cost.
Regards,
Samrat

Hi Owen,
Thanks for reply. My problem is that i am producing a semifinished material but not selling it and even it have no BOM & routing. Producing and capturing all its material cost and SMH cost in plan cost, then issuing it from Sloc. & settling its cost to cost center through 901 mvt. type.
Hence, when i am going to settle it then only the material cost is getting settle in the cost center. Also, please explain me that is it a standard scenario where always plan cost credit will considered material cost & SMH cost will considered as plan cost debit.
As per my study the calculation of plan cost credit & plan cost debit is as per below.
Plan Cost Credit = Actual qty. X Standard price
Plan Cost Debit = Plan qty. X SMH hour booked in routing X Activity rate
Please explain

How to see the planned cost for processing any component or finished product in SAP.

• Difference between Planned cost..........

Hi PP Experts,
Can anybody please tell me what is difference between Planned cost & Actual cost.Where I can see this both cost.

Hi,
Planned Cost is the cost which is calculated when you create the production order i.e. when you click on Calculator icon in production order.
Whereas Actual Cost is updated two ways : Actual Material cost is updated when you do Goods Issue against the Production order and Actual Activity cost is updated when you carry out Confirmation. You need to calculate Overheads in Tcode : KKS2. These all costs cumulatively will constitute your Actual cost.
You can view all costing details in :
CO03--> Go To ( Menu)--> Costs -
>
Analysis
Itemixation
Cost Comp Structure
Balance
You can have the required details of costs by choosing any of the above options.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.
For more details go through sap help.

• Cost Analysis MCI8

Dear All,
I've assigned value categories to cost key figures in spro settings of Information sysytem for plant maintenance and customer service-->Assign value categories to maintenance cost key figures
and executed cost analysis of equiment and I'm able to get only actual cost and planned cost but not material cost, internal labour cost and service cost.
Can any body throws light on this..
Thanks in Advance
Johnson

Hi Johnson,
You should first verify that costs analysis is correct in the orders. After making customizing changes, run program RIPMCO00 to update order costs. You can test with a single order.
To recalculate cost data in Info Structures you can then also run RIPMS001. For report MCI8 the relevant structure S115.
