Cost Center Inheritance from Org Unit

Good day all,
Can someone please advise regarding cost center inheritance from org units?
I understand the inheritance concept, however simple need to know if the CCenter is added to the org unit via A011 relationship, does the system physically create a A011 relationship on the position inhertiting the cost center from the org or does the system simply pick up the realtionship from the org unit relationsip for use in IT0001 field KOSTL (cost center)?

As we know cost centre(K) is an unusual object in OM.Two type of objects internal whose master record are in database table beloging to sap erp hcm and eexternal object whose master data belong to other application areas.Cost centre is an external object that is used to represent origin of costs.Inheritance concept is on the basis of whoch cost centre are assigned in org plan.
directly related cost centre is called master cost centre and they are made via A011 cost centre assignment relationsip.they can be made at org unit,position or work centre and nornmally its org unit that common.Org unit at the top are asisgned the cost centre as a best practise so that all the org units below or reporting will inherit the same.
Similarly multiple cost centre assignments can also e made through 1018 infotype(cost centre distribution).Inheritance also applied to them aswell.

Cost center behind an org. unit

Hi,
how can I get the cost center assigned to an org. unit ?? I am not talking about relationship A011; this works only if the relationship is available in the object´s master data. The problem is when the cost center is inherited from the org. unit above or from the one above this one or from .....
Another problem is when the position is vacant; I cannot read IT 0001 for the employee.
Is there any function or BAPI for that ??

thanks both but it does not help. I´ll try to explain it other way. You create in CO a cost center and you create an org. unit in HR. You can then assign 1 or more org. units to the cost center. I am looking for that union. Relationship A011 is not much of a help.
In the org. structure, a lower-level org. unit inherits the cost center from the father or grandfather org. unit, if we did not assign it to a cost center.
I don´t want to read the higher-level org. unit for finding A011 or one level higher if A011 is not available or another higher level.

Changing personnel area/subarea (IT1008) from org unit to position

We are live with PA and Org. Mgmt, but have been advised to change the infotype 1008 data - personnel area and subarea to be stored on the position instead of the org unit (where we have it now). A big reason for this is we have cases when we need to overwrite the personnel subarea at the position level. For example, a position belonging to an org unit with subarea ABCD, may really be in subarea WXYZ. Therefore, even though the org unit is ABCD, it will be overwritten at the position level to WXYZ. My understanding is that the RHINTE30 program will not work approrpiately if we are maintaining the data this way.
In transaction PPOME there is an account assignment tab on the org unit with cost center (filled in) and personnel area/subarea (which will be blank moving forward since that data won't be maintained on the org unit). Then, there is also an account assignment tab on the position with cost center inherited from the org unit (sometimes needing to be overwritten at the position level), and the personnel area/subarea data. My question is how should I handle the view of PPOME for this data? Can I hide the personnel area and subarea on the account assignment tab for the org units only so it is not confusing for the users? The problem with having it this way is that personnel area and subarea are blank on the org unit and filled on on the position. They are conflicting and both visable/maintainable to the User. I gave you my input on your other related message and now will go for this one.
As I commented on the other message, RHINTE30 will not integrate infotypes 1008 and 1013. So you don't have to worry about using this functionality (first part of your message).
On the second part (personnel area / subarea on position rather than org unit): there are some considerations here that are more functional / process driven than technical. From a technical point of view, everything can be done. You can hide data from infotype 1008 on the tabstrip for your org. unit using dynpro handling, even via customizing. You can even transfer the data from infotype 1008 on the org. units to the positions or delimit it on the org units. There are some quite easy ways of achieving this using the LMSW tool (have you used it? I can forward some documentation).
But personally, I would not recommend to do this from a process point of view. Everything in SAP HR is about the inheritance concept, and I think this works very well when it comes to org. units and positions. It is normally advisable to record personnel area / subarea on the org. unit level. This will be inherited by positions (even if you cannot see it at position level in PPOME) and thus defaulted for the employee. At position level you should handle only the exceptions, which will be in turn also defaulted for the employee holding the position. In this way, data maintenance is minimized. If you delete (or do not use from now on) information about infotype 1008 on org. unit level, your HR department will have to maintain this every time a position is created, and even in cases in which a position is shifted from one org. unit to another one.
In my opinion, you should address this with your HR department and explain the concept and the consequences of maintaining all at position level. It would only be advisable to do it if the org. unit structure is very cross-personnel areas and subareas. If it is a matter of handling exceptions, again, I would recommend to continue recording this data at org. unit level. All in all, if the data is not recorded on the position and you need to see which is its personnel area, you just need to double-click on the org. unit above.
Just wanted to let you know my opinion, of course it's your decision. By the way, I'm of course not aware of other possible implications like home-developed reporting and so on.

Cost Center Inheritance

Is there a option to de-activate the Inheritance functionality of the Cost Centers in OM.
I have already de-activated the Account assignment switch.Still the Cost Center that is assigned to the reporting Org Unit is being inherited by the subordinate Org Units/Positions.I want this inheritance to be stopped.
Is there a specific switch that controls the cost center inheritance?

Change of Cost Center Assignment for Organization Unit in HR

Hi,
Recently my client is changing their cost center number from 6char to 5 char format. I have created customized mapping table to link between old cost center number and new ones.
Create new cost center referencing to old cost center is done too.
However, for each Personnel Number, i need to change the cost center assignment which link to org unit. I have done this too manually at t-code PPOM. How can I do this for mass change? I have a list of org unit number with me. Is there any standard program to do this or i should use LSMW ?
How do I make sure for each Personnel number, their cost center assignment will change to new 5 char format in the end as required?
I am new to HR module.

As Sikandar said, you will have to write an LSMW or BDC ( where in you can check and validate the input Cost centers) using PP01 or Po10.
Also I think if you use BDC or LSMW you will have to run the RHINTE30 report. Check the documentation on RHINTEXX reports to get better idea.

OM - Multiple Cost Centres link with Org Unit/Position not to employee

Hello gurus,
In OM there can only be one relationship at a time between an organizational unit and cost centre (A011). For those areas where there is a requirement for the position to have control over more than one cost centre, there are multiple options.
Option 1 - If only one of the cost centres is used for employee cost incurrence, this should be the main cost centre, and the others controlled through authorizations.
Option 2 - If more than one cost centre is used for employee cost incurrence, a subordinate organizational unit is created into which those positions are placed. In this scenario, the subordinate organizational units would not have a chief, and the reporting structure would go up to the more senior organizational units.
Option 3 - Use Cost centre distribution infotype 1018 (A014)
My question: is there a standard way through which we can show multiple cost centres attached to a position/org unit such that cost incurred by employees goes to master cost centre attached to org unit or positon and other cost centres are just attached to position/orgunit (just to show the org unit/position is managing these other cost centres as well).
Any thoughts? Anybody has used Enterprise Organization in CO to achieve this?

To capture more than 1 cost center, you have to specify them in IT-1018 but employee's cost will be split based on this.
For data maintanance alone cost distribution is not possible (based on my knowledge).
May be equivalent custom infotype similar to 1018 @ Postiion / Org Unit level may work.
along with Master Cost center.

As you would for any other infoobject
Activate the business content hierarchy datasources on R3 for cost centre and profit centre
Go into BW - replicate the metadata
Then just connect via transformations or transfer rules the datasources to yoru infosources or master data objects
Create an infopackage per hierarchy!!!!! - press the button available hirachies from OLTP - click the one you want on the left - fire it off
Then repeat new infopackages for all hierachies

Messg-AAPO189 :Account object Cost Center differs from that in asset master

At the time of Asset Acquisition in T-Code F-90 using Internal order, the system throws the following error:
Message-AAPO189 :Account object Cost Center differs from that in asset master
But in Asset Master data and Internal Order Master data's Cost Centers are same.
And we are not facing this problem for all Assets (only for few asset class only we are facing this error).
Please guide on this.
Note:
We are not using Joint Venture Accounting.

FM to Delete Position and Central person from org unit?

In SRM, we used tr-cd USERS_GEN to create position/CP using SU01 user.
In transaction PPOMA_BBP we can see Org unit assigned to position(S) and Central person(CP).
How to unassign or delete the Position and Central person from org unit?
Can you pls tell me any Func Module available.?

I gave Business partner as input, but it does not delete...anything. pls guide how to exeute.

Hi. All links are in table HRP1001. You will have to go back to this table many times.
Firstly you can get all the positions under the org unit from HRP1001, then you will have to go back to HRP1001 with the position numbers to get the person numbers and so on.

is there any way to get all SLAPPROVER from org unit based on the user name. there is an attribute 'SLApproverList' in BUS4101 , when i given input as user name an instance , the above attribute get filled those who are all SLAPPROVER for that user.
now i have to implement the same logic from Badi. from Badi i will pass creater name and i need all SLAPPROVER list, this is my requirement. can you please give me some hints for this.

To get SLAPPROVER from BADI. Try this -
DATA : l_bus4101 TYPE swf_bor_object.
DATA : l_limit TYPE bbp_spers_sl-spending_limit.
DATA : l_approver TYPE swf_bor_object.
swc_get_property l_bus4101 'SLAPPROVER' l_approver.
swc_get_property l_bus4101 'SpendingLimit' l_limit.
It should be alright now. Please go through documentation on business objects and check SWC_GET_PROPERTY / SWC_SET_ELEMENT / SWC_CREATE_CONTAINER etc.
If you get error with l_approver, please check correct type for it.

You can create a Generic Extractor , Create a view on 2 tables with proper join condition n use this to load 0COSTCENTER.

How to find cost centers for a org unit ( if kost center is inherited)

We have a org structure
When a parent org unit is assigned a kost center then the parent also inherites the kost center
I need to find kost center for all the org unit in my organization
I cant see the inherited cost center neither in IT 1001 nor 1008 nor 1015 but i can see it in PPOME in the account assignment tab.
How can i find the inherited cost centers to all the org units.
i think i am clear with my requirement to all

Use the report RHSTRU00 in tcode SE38
and give the follwoing values in selection screen
Plan version                    01 Current plan
Object type                     O   Organizational unit
Evaluation Path               A011       All relationships to A011 -> cost
execute the report to see all the orgunits with their cost centers
