Cost saving tracking in SAP

Hi All
Another interesting scenario for which I cant find many answers on SDN. How to track cost savings in standard SAP?
Example: A company buys a material for $10 ea. General market price is $11 so its a saving of $1 per item.
Every time a user places an order for material and that material arrives in the company, Purchasing department wants to capture total savings achieved off it.
Has anyone ever implemented anything similar? is there any best practice for it? Does standard SAP offers any functionality....

yes I looked into that pricing condition. Access sequence is of no use so I configured a Z copy of this condition and added access sequence as per business requirement.
yes it is only required for reporting purpose.
I was wondering before I put forward my idea of using pricing condition to capture this info, I might see what is out there or if anyone else has ever done anything similar.
it is interesting how business users want to use MEK2 to enter condition records for this cost saving condition which they cannot unless I make this condition a copy of PB00.
It doesn't allow me the add condition records of ZP01 (a copy of MP01 - same config) via MEk2.
Can you think of better way of entering data?

  • Production order cost breakup table in SAP

    Hi Experts,
    I am looking for the cost breakup table in SAP. I mean the cost breakup analysis that is shown in the production orders.
    I can get the material costs breakup from table AUFM, Confirmations cost breakup from table AFRU & AFVV, the only remaining is the overhead costs against cost element.

    Try transaction RKACSHOW, see note 28145. RKACSHOW shows all the tables that are updated on an order.

    on the top you will see "sales document" "edit" "goto" and then you have "extras".
    On the dropdown you will see "costing".

    Hi YSR,
    In Solution Manager you must be having Project Template from which other Implementation or Support Projects can derive. In this Template project you can customize you own node or you can chood any extisting node to put the Issue Track in General Documentaion Tab.

    U can map the process by going through Subcontracting Route.Steps are
    1  Create a Subcontracting PO with Item category L, Tick the free goods Indicator as you do not want any Liability to be generated
    2 In the material tab ,Component Overview Maintain the Item code of the Generator ,Thus both send items and Procured Item will    be same
    3 Issue the Generator to the Party via T code MB1B -541
    4 Perform GR when the Projector has arrived back after rectification
    Accounting entries created  in step 4 will be
    Stock account Cr - Eg Rs 100
    RM Consumption account Dr -Eg Rs 100
    Change in stock account Cr -Eg Rs 100
    Stock account Dr - Eg Rs 100
    Thus If you do the netting there will not be any balance in your Balance sheet account and P/L Account

  • Labor Tracking In SAP ME 5.2

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to do Labor Tracking activity in SAP ME 5.2. I have some doubts in it.
    1) What is RollUp? where shoud i configure for doing rollup?
         In Labor Rule Maintenance i have set the rules. Is there any other place we need to configure?
    2) I'm not able to do Supervisor Time Edit and Approval activity. In the documents it is given that once roll up has been done,
         cost center supervisors can edit and approve time records for their employees.
         Am i getting this problem due to roll up?
    3) In LCC Summary Report i'm not able to see any changes for the LCC if i chnage the User LCC in Change User LCC activity.
         Only the default LCC provided in Shop order is displayed.
    Can anyone tell me how to solve all these?

    For 3) the scenario is:
    I have created one user as OPER in user maintenance and assigned him FIRST_SHIFT as Primary shift.
    Default LCC as PRODUCTION.
    In User Shift Maintenance, for the FIRST_SHIFT i have defined BREAK times.
    The user Clocks in manually in POD. During BREAK times, i went to Change USER LCC activity and changed the particular user's LCC as IDLE_TIME. Once the Break time got over, again i changed the user LCC to Production.
    At the end of the shift i Clocked out.
    Now wen i see the LCC summary report i'm not able to find the changed User LCC and the report shows only PRODUCTION as the user's LCC.
    Could u pls tell me whether i have configured properly? And how to solve this?

  • Can we automate Cost recognision in Standard SAP in automated way

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    We have activated Deferred Revenue in our system which is working fine and we can analyze
    the deferred revenue.Now we want to analyze deferred cost for the same automatically…we have
    activated COPA as well
    Requirement – Cost should be booked as Deferred Cost in Balance sheet GL and not in PL GL
    At the time of MIGO.
    Later once project is finished we will settle Sales order through VF44 revenue will get recognized automatically
    and deferred revenue (BS) will transferred to Actual Revenue (PL) at the same time if system can post the Deferred Cost (BS)
    to Actual Cost (PL) automatically.
    Scenario – Purchase order will be created, with account assignment category K. for service material
    At MIGO system should post
    (BS)Deferred Cost – Dr
    GR/IR – Cr
    And later once sales order settled cost should automatically flow to actual PL GL or with the help of any other process or T-code
    system should automatically take care of Cost part
    (PL) Cost – Dr
    (BS)Deferred Cost – Cr
    Simultaneously COST should also flow to COPA as well…we want to automate this process can
    we do the same by using any standard SAP feature?
    Issue – No standard way found to give solution for the COST recognition.

    Guys,
    Luckily, for this, i was using a user-decision step which uses DECISION --> PROCESS method. So, I could remove the BO:TRIP that i included earlier. But, for other tasks, where if we use a method from our BO, we cannot remove this std. BO link that shows up in "Objects & Attachments"...to my understanding.

  • IDOC Status, Tracking in SAP PI/PO Single Stack

    Hi All,
    My PO version: 7.4, SP4. I am not sure my questions below are still a limitation in current PI/PO single stack systems, and hence requesting your help for the same.
    1) Is there a way we can track outbound idocs in SAP PI/PO single stack similar to PI abap stack IDX5? ( Note:- I couldn't find any option in IDOC monitoring in single stack SAP PO 7.4, SP4)
    2) IDOC status is always 0 in SAP PO 7.4 single stack IDOC monitoring. I am not sure if this status is just specific to my PO system. Any setting needs to be applied?
    ps: Please post only relevant answers/solutions

  • Problem with lowercase when saving in custom SAP table.

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a problem in saving entries in a custom table in SAP.
    When I enter a name with combinations of upper and lower case in SE16, when saving, my entries were all converted into uppercase. That goes as well in passwords. That's my concern, how can I check passwords if combinations were disregarded?
    My parameter fields for these were just type CHAR.
    Is there a way I can save data as how they were entered?

    Hi,
    Check the Domain of the field and select Lower case check box if it is a Zdomain or else create the new domain or check for one like this.For example..
    Table PA0002 which has a field NACHN and Data element assigned to it is PAD_NACHN...double click on the Data element and now again double click on the Domain and now Under Ouput Characteristics check the Lower Case check.
    And now database get's saved with what ever case you entered

    Please try out with some enhancement and let us know if your requirement can be met or not.
    I think the appropriate Exit would be MM06E005\MM06E007. Please reach out to a ABAPer
    and put a simple logic in the code which would prevent the creation of PO when the COST CENTER are locked.
    If the above suggestion is not working then you can put up the logic when the PO are on the
    verged of being released after creation. In this way the PO belonging to locked Cost Center will not be released at all.

                           As rightly said you need to develop your own logic . With the help of your ABAPer, create a ZTable . Also develop a program in which u cerate a entry based on the Customer. The entries get stored in the ZTable cretaed . Then you can develop a report which can show you which C or F forms has been recieved or pending .
