Create a red text button

I have a requirement to sometimes create a red button so have implemented two buttons on the region that are mutually exclusive.
I have created a css (below) for the button that needs to be red and created a new template - all works fine but the button looks like this
http://i15.tinypic.com/6fih2t1.png
I.E. the middle edging is missing. I've only modified the color within the CSS so am not sure if there is something else that APEX is doing that does this?
Any help v greatly appreciated
Phil
table.tx15Button td.tx15R{width:6px;}
table.tx15Button td.tx15L{width:6px;}
table.tx15Button td.tx15R img{display:block}
table.tx15Button td.tx15L img{display:block}
table.tx15Button{color:#FF0000;display:inline;}
table.tx15Button td.tx15C{background-image:url(button-m.gif);background-repeat:repeat-x;white-space:nowrap;}
table.tx15Button td.tx15C a:visited,table.tx15Button td.tx15C a{vertical-align:middle;font-size:11px;color:#FF0000;padding:0 3px;white-space:nowrap;text-decoration:none;display:block;}

Hello Phil,
>> But if I just want to make the text red,
Sorry, misunderstood you.
If you only want to change the text color (http://i14.tinypic.com/434ojn7.png), copy the button template and change the color of the link tag. It should look similar to the following:
<td class="t15C">&lt;a href="#LINK#" style="color: red">#LABEL#</a></td>You don’t need any other changes (including in the CSS file).
Regards,
Arie.

  • How to create text buttons that link to video?

I've finally gotten around to trying DVD SP, and even though I read the whole manual, it's not at all clear if, or how, you can create text buttons that link to the video you want to play, without displaying a clip of that video in the button itself.
I have no problem creating a text button, but I can't change the font, and editing is counter-intuitive, unlike iDVD. I'd use iDVD, but it doesn't accept .m2v files, and it seems to think that my 6 videos of about 43 minutes each are too large for a DVD+DL disc, so it won't let me burn it or save it as a disc image.
Does anyone have a way out of this conundrum, or am I SOL?
    Mulder

    It really isn't that hard!
As Drew said, go into your menu and click and drag to create a button rectangle. With the button highlighted, look in the property inspector at the bottom and type in the text that you want to use. Ensure that you 'include in button highlight' and then set the colour choice for selected and activated.
What you get is a simple line of text which illuminates when you roll over it, and changes colour when you click on it.
Once that is done, click on the button area again and set the target to go to the piece of video that you want to have play back.
You should also set the menu call and end jump on that track to make sure your viewer can get back to the menu.
Once that is done the menu will show as a simple piece of text (more buttons means more bits of text, and the first button will be highlighted by default) and no video will play until the button is activated.
DVDSP is definitely a steeper learning curve than iDVD but for very good reasons. You get far greater control and access to far more advanced features in DVDSP. This means that some things will seem harder, whereas in fact they are just different and the process for achieving the result you want is different. Much of what you want to know is in the manual and also in the tutorials which came with the app. Failing that there are several good online spaces where you can find a lot more information... not least of which is right here, of course!

  • HT201401 when i swipe to delete texts or emails, the red delete button disappears

when i swipe to delete texts or emails, the red delete button disappears

I had the same problem.  I did a full shutdown and reboot and that took care of it.  No more disappearing button.  Good luck.

  • Text buttons - creating a click zone

I've added 4 text buttons on the main menu of an iDVD 6.0.3 project. Each one leads to an individual movie. The navigation works fine, and each button highlights and leads to the movie if I click anywhere on the text or to the left where a box appears to denote button selection. However, after I burn and play a DVD of this project, I must click on the box to the left of the text once it's selected in order to play the movie. I cannot click on the text itself.
I'm sure there's an easy resolution, but I've looked through the documentation and can't decipher where. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Very minor issue compared to not being able to select at all. Nevertheless, this usually has to do when text falls out of the TV Safe area. However if it is in the TV Safe area then try lowering the burn speed to 2x or lower using apple's disc utilities (or better yet Roxio Toast). This may help. Use Verbatim or Maxell DVD-R only while troubleshooting on this iDvd Forum and avoid Memorex and TDK medias.
    Good Luck!

  • How to make scalable text button

I'm learning Captivate at the moment and I cannot understand this at all...
I want to creat a text button. Captivate allows NO options to change the grey text box or blue rollover effect. So I find out that the only way to do it is to creat your own image button, BUT Captivate does not allow Illustrator import, thus the images are not scalable. This means that if I want to creat a text button that will have various sizes of widths the image will have to be stretched and this looks awful.
Someone please tell me that my only option is to not create a seperate image for every instance of text due to variance in width.......
    Please help.
I tried calling the Adobe Technical Support line... I even spoke with a specialist. They did not speak English well and kept telling me over and over to import my own image... but that does not solve the problem, it still stretches!!! They basically said there is no way around this. I cannot believe this to be the case... Even powerpoint allows text button customization....
    Thank you

The look and feel of the default text button object in Captivate is actually controlled by your operating system.  So if you look at the same course onh a Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 7 box, the buttons will all look slightly different.   This is one reason that Captivate gives you the option to use other button types such as image buttons, which you can also create for yourself if you are handy with an image editor.  There is currently no import facility for vector art from Illustrator or other similar programs.
Since the OS controls the default text button appearance, you don't have a lot of control over things like the corner radius etc, because in the OS, this might actually be square (e.g. in Win2000).
It sounds more to me like what you REALLY want is to be able to use some of the Captivate text caption types as if they were buttons.  Some of these have rounded corners.  Alternatively, you can create a rounded rectangle using the drawing tool and configure the corner radius and background colour any number of ways.  The only things you'd be missing are rollover effects (doable with rollover captions) and interactivity.  Lilybiri suggested that you can just place an invisible clickbox over the top of the caption to make it work like a button.  The user will never know that it's the clickbox instead of the caption that they're clicking.
If you want even more options as far as interactivity triggered by other mouse events such as mouse over and mouse out, you can make almost any Captivate screen object interactive using the Event Handler widget from Infosemantics.

  • Creating a long text using ABAP code.. fm SAVE_TEXT

When you create an order via IW31 one of the options is to click on the text button and create a long text. I am basically trying to mimic this action from within my ABAP code.
The text id details are as follows:
Text Name       500000015000046  which is (5000000 + order number)
    Language        EN
Text ID            KOPF         Order header text
    Text Object      AUFK       Order text
If i manually create the text within the transaction i am then able to view and update it via function modules READ_TEXT and SAVE_TEXT. But if the text has not already been created READ_TEXT obviously returns nothing as it does not exist and SAVE_TEXT does not seem to created it!
Anyone know how i would go about creating this text using ABAP code?
Hope this make a bit of sense

  • How to create subpicture for a button?

    Hello!
I have really tried to find the answer to this rather silly problem on my own, but without result. Please help someone!
    The situation:
I have a menu with three choices: "Play Movie", "Scene Selection" and "Subtitles". Now, the text presenting these choices are part of the background image, created in Premiere (the program I know best). They are written with an old typewriter to get that gritty feeling.
I want the user to scroll between these "menu items". The currently selected item should be indicated by a black circle/spot/dot before the text of the item. By default, when the menu appears, there is a black circle in front of (to the immediate left of) the item "Play Movie". The user should now be able to step with his/her remote to the other items, thereby making the black circle in front of "Play Movie" disappear and appearing instead before some of the other items. In short: the black circle is always showing before the currently selected item. OK, I got a bit verbose there, but the idea got across hopefully. One more thing: the background color is 100% white.
Up to this point, my solution was this: I placed black circles (small images with gradation and all, very nice looking) in front of ALL THREE ITEMS. Then I convert these into buttons. Then I choose the color set for the menu so that the unselected state is 100% white, plain and simple, with 100% opacity, thereby covering the black circles that should not show. Only in the selected and activated states does opacity for the button subpicture drop to 0%, thereby revealing the black circle that should be seen.
The problem? Well, on some DVD-players (not on the XBOX 360 though), when an item is activated, all three circles show for a brief moment before the selected action starts (for example playing the movie). It also happens in Encore Preview. This is not logical at all and looks amateurish. I don't know why it happens, but my guess is that it wouldn't if I did this the "correct" way: by creating subpictures fo the buttons in the shape of circles. I understand the nice looking gradations must go out the window but that is a price I'm willing to pay.
But now I run into an unexpected problem: I don't understand how to create a subpicture for the button that is a black circle. It seems the documentation in Encore and on forums in general takes for granted that you know how to do this.
What I tried ws this: I created a monochrome, small image in bmp format - a black circle on white background. But this image just shows up as a black rectangle in Encore.
What should I do? I should add that I have no real experience with Photoshop, so go slow if you go there.
    Regards,
    Nikolaj

Basically, when one realizes the limitations of the Sub-picture Highlights, as set by the DVD-specs., it's easy to see the "workaround."
A couple of the aspects of Sub-picture Highlights are:
1.) 2-bit color (either ON, or OFF), from a limited color palette, with degrees of Transparency (the opposite of PS's Opacity).
2.) they will appear on top of anything else on the Menu, including things like Button text/graphics.
By constructing your Sub-picture Highlight in PS, you can use Masking to define where it will be, and where it will not be. In the case that prompted my article, the poster had a series of Text Buttons, and the Sub-picture Highlights were formed from that Text. The poster did not like the look of those 2-bit jagged blocks of color overlying the Text in the Button. The workaround is to "punch a hole" in the Sub-picture Highlight, so that it is hollow, where the Button's Text appears. This is done in PS, by using the "outline" of that Text to create a Mask for the Sub-picture Highlight. The jagged aspect can be adjusted a bit, by using a degree of Transparency (set in the non-Auto Color Set back in Encore). We still have a 2-bit color Sub-picture Highlight, and it still overlays the Button's Text, but now there is a hole in it, right where the Button's Text is located, and it is seen through that hole. The introduction of Transparency has the visual effect of "softening" the look of the 2-bit color, even though the jagged edges are still there - they just look softer. I went on to show how one could even use a second Sub-picture Highlight, that is just a bit larger than the first, and with more Transparency to simulate a "glow." Now, we cannot have a real "glow," because we are limited to that 2-bit color for the Sub-picture Highlight, but we can simulate it.
Much of what a designer does is really slight of hand - illusion. They all have to work within the limitations of the DVD (or BD) specs., but with a bit of creativity, planning and some work in PS and Encore, they can create enough smoke and use enough mirrors to fool the user into believing that what they think they see skirt the DVD-specs. They do not, but that's where the illusion comes in.
We get a lot of questions from people, who claim that one commercial DVD, or another, has full-color Sub-picture Highlights and they complain that Encore cannot do that - only 2-bit Sub-picture Highlights. What they are seeing, but do not realize it, is a dupe Menu, with a full-color graphic, and no real Sub-picture Highlight visible. Jeff gives full details on doing this. Same for those who have seen a Button with a duo-tone thumbnail, that turns full-color, when the Button is navigated to. Wow, how did they do that, and why can't Adobe Encore do that? Well, what they saw was a dupe Menu, with a full-color thumbnail and no visible real Sub-picture Highlight.
Jeff shows how to create what appears to be at least a 3-color Sub-picture Highlight. It's really just 3 regular 2-bit color Sub-picture Highlights, with Masking to create the illusion that he beat the DVD-specs. Neat! [Being from the USA, I also liked that he used the US flag, but he could have chosen the French "Tri-color," or any other flag, without artwork.]
These are all just tricks, but if the user buys into the illusion, who's to know?
    Enjoy,
    Hunt
PS - though many of the great, older posts were lost, when the forum changeover happened, I strongly suggest reading the posts here. You can bypass ones that do not offer you anything, but almost every possible illusion has been discussed at least one time, and likely many, with some different workflows offered by those, who replied. Great reading.

  • Text buttons in a data list?

Is it possible to create a series of text links in a datalist? If not explicitly in the UI, can this even be emulated by creating text buttons and attaching them to the datalist?
In either case, I'm not able to achieve this. For example, when I create a text button and add it as an item to be included in the repeating objects, the editable text column in the datalist disappears (which I suppose I can understand) but the end result is a repeated button whose label is exactly the same every time it's repeated. In other words, when I change the text of one, all of them change.
I'm trying to create a data list where different headlines are hyperlinks with hover states. This seems rudimentary... I must be missing something?

It's not yet possible to draw links from a data collection using the Catalyst UI.  The closest solution I was able to come up with for Fc is to set a "Go to URL" interaction on items in a list, so:
    Select your list, then
Add interaction > On Select > Go to URL > Enter your url > When a specific item is selected > then chose the corresponding item #.
Of course, that solution is better for fixed content or prototyping.  For full data binding and support of dynamic sources, Flash Builder is the best solution.

  • How to create a 3-state button (similar look as OK button) that toggles between 3 different colors.

How do I create a 3-state button that looks similar to the OK button except it changes to 3 different colors every time it is pressed. Does anyone have such a control ready for use that I can just drop in my front panel?

With a picture ring you can implement a 3 color button without any code. Look at the attached customized control.
I have imported the picture of a boolean in three different items and
colored them. I centered the text and hide/made transparent uneeded
graphic elements. I set the size of the decrement arrow to cover all
the picture and made it transparent so when you click on the control
you decrement the value of the ring and change the picture/color
Edit: you'll notice that the picture is not fullt covered by the
decrement arrow so if you click near the bottom of the button, the
picture ring will show its normal behavior displaying all 3 available
    items

  • Captivate 5 Text Buttons no longer have button outline/shadow

I've imported a Captivate 4 project into Captivate 5, and the Text Buttons in Cp5 don't seem to provide the button outline or shadow. Here's an image that shows what I start with in Cp4, and what the equivalent is in Cp5:
I've looked all through the Properties window, and can't find a way to get the old button outline and shadow that I used to get for free with all other Captivate versions of Text Buttons.
I need to create buttons with my own text, so the only work-around that I seem to have is by creating an Image Button, then creating text with a transparent background and overlaying it onto the image button, but when I enlarge the image button to fit around the text, it blurs the outline and shadow:
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a problem with my Cp5 installation? Do other people get Text Buttons with button outline/shadow in Cp5? We use buttons frequently when building Captivate projects, and even the Cp5 Image Buttons are not an ideal solution for us, since their default size is much smaller than we prefer, and increasing the size of their image buttons blurs everything:
This is also the problem with using Button Widgets (In addition, Button Widgets don't seem to provide a way to pause without additional ActionScript coding).
But we're less worried about Image Buttons or Button Widgets then we are about Text Buttons. Any help on how to get button outlines and shadows with Text Buttons in Cp5 would be greatly appreciated.

I see a sdescription of how to change the shadow of a button, but I cannot find where to change the shadow properties for buttons. it is nowhere in my Properties window when I have a button selected.
    My only options are:
    General
    Character
    Action
    Options
    Timing
    Reporting
    Audio
    Position & Size
according to the page I referenced, there should be a "Shadow" option between Options and Timing.
Basically I would like to add a drop shadow to a text button when it is in the _over state, or in other words, when the mouse goes over it (no visible button border in _up state, just text)
and I do not want to have to create 200 image buttons in Photochop with three states...
    Thanks!

  • Text Buttons

What I want to do is take changing the color of text buttons a step further. I have read may book and nothing touches on this topic.  Well one did but told me what I already know, which I will point out below.
If you have a button that is titled Photography and you double click the button it takes you to a window where you see  Up, Over, Down, Hit.
If I change the color of the font on Over, and Down, the button changes color when it is rolled over and pressed.  My color change is blue.
When you release the mouse or role off the word Photography in your test movie window the color of the word Photography goes back to
    Black.
What I want to do is have the color stay Blue when the Photography button is click and the Photography page opens.  Then if I were to click the next word Jewelry, which should turn green I want it to stay green when it goes to the Jewelry page, and on that page the word Photography is again black, until I click it and it goes to the Photography page.
What I don't want to do is have a second photography button that is Blue.  I know that I can copy the button code but that seems like more work than necessary.  I am sure it can be written in UNIX code but I don't write UNIX and I use all the pull down menus to create simple web pages.  I know how to animate and am well versed in the simple things Adobe Flash can do but it seems that the simple things I want to do can't be done.
Please reply asap or EM [email protected] and type Adobe Text Button in header.
Thank you to whom ever can help.

If you want buttons to retain their states, then you need to use movieclips instead of buttons.  Search Google using terms like "AS3 movieclip button tutorial" (replace AS3 with AS2 if that's your intention)

  • URGENT! How do I create a vertical scroll button in Flash CS6 for online banners?

Hi, I am creating Flash online banners and the disclaimer needs to open as a vertical scroll banner once the mouse touches the 'x close' button where the words 'Disclaimer' is stated.
How do I create a vertical scroll button including text?
    I am using Flash CS6.

    Hi Babaa,
sry for the lateness of my reply.
I would simply make a button that when clicked, displays a layer containing your disclaimer text. The discliamer text would be inside a Movie Clip (MC) for ease of controlling.
the MC then contains a text field which has a scrollable field. as the user scrolls through you can then display a "close" button to close out the disclaimer MC.
If you still need the work done feel free to email or PM me here and we can discuss the job further.

  • Text buttons and roll over

    Hi
I have text buttons and want to make the text bold when the user rolls over. (this is a menu)
Are there any other ways besides having the text as a master slide and then click boxes and roll overs, I realise I can do text buttons but there is a small icon that I need at the front of the text which will also need to be clickable.
    thanks

Bold only when rolling over? That means that you will not be able to use it for HTML5 output? Only SWF is OK?
My first idea is to use the EventHandler widget of InfoSemantics (not free but you can download a trial version), because it can create a rollover event for your text button. Anyway you'll have to create a transparent text container (shape or caption) that has the Bold Text and appears when rolling over. If you don't want to go with that widget, you can simulate the same by using the Rollover slidelet (you'll need only the Area, can drag the Slidelet itself outside of the sldie), that has a rollover event that can trigger an action to show that previously hidden transparent text.
Welcome to the forum, just one tip: mention the version number (exact number, which you find under Help, About Captivate) when you post a question.

  • How to create a simple text color script?

Hi, I need a script for school that will type all consonants in black and vowels in red using Office Word. I'm sure there is an easy way to do this but I know little about scripting. Does anyone know a script that will do this. Your help is much appreciated.

From your response to Camelot it would seem you have the issue pretty much solved. But you should realize:
    • You are only going to be able to write/run AppleScripts on a MAC computer
    • While there are Microsoft Word programs for MAC, there's no TextEdit on pc's as far as I know. But you might try e-mailing your TextEdit result (as an attachment) to a pc. It will probably open as a Word Document and, who knows, it might even have the red text you created on your MAC. Don't know if that would make your effort any easier.
    • If you have MS Word on your MAC, I'm reasonably certain Camelot's code can be adapted to that, but it's not simply a matter of substituting "MS Word" for "TextEdit". If the e-mail trick works, I don't know how rewriting the script for Word would further simplify things.
I see that Hiroto has supplied possible code for working directly in Word. Message was edited by: Noaks

  • Disabling a Text Input created through the TEXT TOOL?

    Hi There,
I have created a text input area. I havent used the flash
text components. I used the TEXT TOOL. In the properties I set it
to "input" type so that i could input data. All the features works
fine except one. I have to disable the text area when user clicks a
button. I dint get any help from the flash help.
The main objective is that the text input area shouldnt take
input from the user when the button is ON, once the button is off,
the cursor should be at the point where the user left and he can
    type thru.
Is this possible? I have achieved this functionality using
the textarea component of Flash, but not using the input text area
    created using the TEXT TOOL.
    Can anyone help me.

use the type property of textfields to change your textfield
to "dynamic "when you want to disable input and assign it to
"input" when you want to enable input.
