Creating Sales Areas

Hi,
I am migrating some Sales Areas data from other database to SAP and wonder how I can create sales areas such as Sales Organizations, distribution channels, and sales division. I would appreciate if anyone can tell me how I can programmatically create sales areas or the transaction codes I should use to do so.
Sunny

Hi Sunny!
With a simple copy of a sales organization, you will get new entries in several dozen (maybe more than 100) customizing tables.
It is a critical decision, from which 'original' the new entry is created - or if a creation without reference should be done. But then really a lot has to be maintained additionally.
It's not necessary the sales organization, which triggers the whole copy, some of the settings will only be added on sales area levels.

Christian

  • Mass extension of material master to differnt sales area

    Hi,
How can we extend material master to different sales area enmasse.?
    Regards
    Kantha

A material master is not just linked to a sales area.
you have to create sales views per sales org and distribution channel.
there are many fields in there that need to be maintained, SAP stores this info in table KNVV
if all data in the new sales area is equal to an existing sales area, then you can easily extend using MM17, if not, then you have to use LSMW.
MMSC_MASS is for storage location extension, this is certainly not a transaction to create sales area data views.

  • Problem in customer creation for sales area

    Hi all,
I could not create a customer for given Sales Org , DC and Division...
SAP Throwing error as "above mentioned sales area is not defined for the customer...
    Karthick

    Karthick V ,
When you create a Customer either in XD01 or VD01 Care should be taken while entering the "sales area" and the "customer" (Domestic customer or Export Customer or one time customer) again within this there is no. ranges which will be classified either Internal or External.
So care should be taken when you create a customer.
    1. Check In IMG --> Enterprise structure -->Assignement --> SD --> Set up sales Area, whether you have created sales area (Check other assignements too. within Sales and Distribution). Generally check your Assignment sequence with reference to SD Process.
    2. Check in OBD2 What Account groups have been used (you maintain different account groups this where you classify customer)
    3. Check Assign no ranges to customer Account Groups
    4. Check whether you have maintained common Distribution Channels and Common Divisions.

  • MDGC 6.1 Sales area authorization issue

    Hi Gurus,
We are implementing MDGC 6.1 in co-deployment mode.
It seems I need to specify "*" for sales org, division and channel in PFCG for the user to be able to create sales area in CR.
How could I restrict to one specific sales area?
    Thanks in advance

  • CHANGE SALES AREA

    HI FOLKS
ONCE THE SALES ORDER HAS BEEN CREATED FOR A PARTICULAR SALES AREA,IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE TO ANOTHER SALES AREA
EX: SALES DOCU CREATED WITH  SALES AREA 1000 10 00.
    WANT TO CHANGE TO 1000 14 10.
THE CUSTOMER AND THE MATERIAL HAVE BEEN EXTENDED FOR THE NEW SALES AREA.
    PLZ SUGGEST.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE
    MADHU.

    Dear Ansumesh,
As, rightly suggested by Ritvika, once created, Sales Area couldn't be changed, for the Sales Order.
If, there is no subsequent document, i.e. Delivery, Invoice etc.. for this Sales Order, You may delete the Sales Order:
    VA02 --> Sales Document (Menu) --> Delete
If, you have some Subsequent Document, either Reverse (Delivery) and Cancel (Invoice) the Subsequent Documents; Also, settle Accounting Documents from FI-side,
And, Mark Sales Order Items "Reason for Rejection" (as, sometimes, System doesn't allow to Delete the Sales Order line-items, even though you reverse/ cancel all the documents).
You may also put "Reason for Rejection" at Sales Order Header-level.
Now, Create new Sales Order with Desired Sales Area.
    Best Regards,
    Amit

    Hi,
1 you have to do following assignment then only you can assign your document type.
Please do the following setting 1.
    Combine sales organizations-->OVAO
    Combine distribution channels-->OVAM
    Combine divisions-->OVAN
Now assign your order type to type  sales are in
IMGà Sales and distributionà Sales Documents à Sales Document Header à Assign Sales Area To Sales Document Types àAssign sales order types permitted for sales areas
    Hope this will be helpful.
    Thanks,

  • Need to Create Customer Master Data under Multiple Sales Areas

    Hi Gurus,
My requirement is to create a customer under multiple sales areas by processing the Inbound Idoc function module "IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR"( After generating Outbound Idoc and outbound is processed successfully).
But, when I am trying to send the multiple sales areas information in segment "E1KNVVM". It is creating the customer under first sales area filled in first E1KNVVM segment and it is giving error that "Fill all required fields SAPMF02D 0111 ADDR1_DATA-NAME1" and it is not creating the customer under other sales areas.
Following are the details of the Outbound Idoc which I have processed.
            Idoc Basic type : DEBMAS06
            Message          : DEBMAS
I have filled required fields in E1KNA1M and E1KNVVM segments. But filled E1KNVVM segments  twice with different sales area data.
Please help in solving this problem?

is it really just one IDOC?
I have never seen that SAP just does a part of one IDOC.
the structure of DEBMAS ist like this:
    E1KNA1M
    --E1KNVVM
    E1KNVPM
    E1KNVDM
    E1KNVIM
    --E1KNB1M
which means for your example it should be like this
    E1KNA1M
    --E1KNVVM
    E1KNVPM
    E1KNVDM
    E1KNVIM
    --E1KNVVM
    E1KNVPM
    E1KNVDM
    E1KNVIM
    --E1KNB1M
and in this case I am very certain that it would never just process and create the part for one sales area.
Maybe your customer already exists from ealier tests with just one sales area.
Display your IDOC in WE02 or WE05 and make sure you have a value in name1 field

    Hi RadhaKrishna,

However I think this is possible by using some user exit in sales order. I have never tried this.

  • Create a sales order with reference to a sales doc of different sales area

    Hi All,
I would like to create a sales order by copying a sales order of different sales area. Is there way to achieve this (user exit, custom transaction, copy control) if the standard SAP doesn't allow?
    Thanks in advance
    Venkat

    HI venkat,
to be  very precise yes ,it is possible to create a sales order referencing the sales order of the same customer from different sales area ,but system has to understand the key field which is differentiated between those two sales areas like say doc type or any other header fields so that ,we can use that field in userexit MV45AFZZ to code a logic ,so that system picks up right sales area depending on your business process.

  • Problem in creating customer in new sales area

    Hi
I am creating a customer in new sales area but system is not allowing but giving following message Sales area UKA1 U1 U1 is not defined for customers.
In IMG, sales area UKA1 U1 U1 exists.
    How to resolve this problem?
    Thanks

    Dear Uttam,
There are two ways to maintain Customer Master records:
    1. By creating master record for each Sales Area
    2. BY creating single master record & define common Distribution channels & Divisions.
In second case e.g. you have two distribution channel & Divisions C1 & C2 and AA & BB respectively. You create a master record for C1 & AA & if you have defined the above Sales areas as common then you need create new master record for C2 & BB...
These settings can be done at IMG - Sales & Dist - Master Data - Define Common Dist. Channel & Divisions.
Hope this clears your doubt.. .
    Reward if useful...

  • If BP is created with sales area, it doesn't reach R/3

    Hi,
In our CRM 5.0 system, if we create a BP only with general information (name, address etc.), it reaches R/3 fine. But if I create a BP with general information & sales area info at the same time & then save it, problems...
An entry is created in SMW01 with queue name SEE_TABLE_SMW3_BDOCQ. This entry has two rows of data. One INSERT entry for creating BP general info, and one UPDATE entry for sales area data. I can see the update entry as first row.
I think what is happening is, when this bdoc is processed, first UPDATE entry is processed. Unfortunately since the customer is not created in R/3 by that time, bdoc gets an error "Business partner 0001234567 does not exist as customer, change not possible".
And bdoc is not processed, BP doesn't go to R/3.
Any idea how can this be corrected?
    Regards,
    Kaushal

Did you check the mandatory fields on R/3 with respect to sales area data? As a quick test make all R/3 sales area fields for that account group as optional and try to upload
