Creative Muvo headphone foam covers...and how not to treat a custom

I recently lost one of the foam covers for my new muvo n200 headphones. This is a major pain since it won't stay in my ear.
I went to the store where I bought it, and they said to contact Creative, or try Radio Shack. Radio shack doesn't have ones that will fit.
I emailed Creative, they said call their technical support. I called technical support, and the guy I spoke with suggested I buy a new pair of headphones. When I asked whether I could buy or be sent some new foams only, he was extremely rude in saying no and quickly ended the call. These foamies cost..what..25 cents each at the most?
Hello Creative customer support - tell your phone support people to be courteous on the phone, and at least try and be helpful. Not what I was expecting, especially when email support told me to call it in. Very poor experience.
Anyone know where I can get a new pair of foams.

You need to keep in mind that the item you purchased retails for under $200. Creative's profit on each one of these is probably quite slim. Wages of customer service people are not cheap. They can't afford to provide the level of service you want, especially on such low priced products. It wouldn't even make sense for them to do so if the Muvos were priced much higher(say $500 US), as replacement foams(or even replacement earphones for those who can't find the foams are so inexpensi've). The cost of processing a request for additional foams might very well be well over $5, even though the foams themselves are very cheap. Payroll costs are high. Then there is postage and other handling costs.

It does have to do with costs and profit margins though. The Muvos retail in the $80-$70 range(which includes the retailer's and distributors profits). Making these is not cheap. Creative's profit on each of these might not be much more than $5. Now you can see why they can't afford to accomodate such requests. If the Muvos retailed for $500+, and Creative made a few hundred dollars on each, then spending a few dollars each time to make a customer happy might make sense.

    To add to sig's reply, "calibrating" does not calibrate Lithiu-Ion batteries, it calibrates the charge reporting circuitry.  If you look at the effect of deep discharging Lithium-Ion batteries in the data from the independent test group, Battery University, you will see that doing so shortens the life of the battery significantly. It looks like an optimum balance between use and life is at a discharge level of 50%.

    Are you sure the battery is full? If it is, try entering recovery mode for your player (see stickied thread at the top of this forum).

  • Moving Clips - and how not to lose the audio? Help needed!

    Hi,
    I have used Premiere Pro 6.0 quite extensively over the years and have recently moved to Premiere Pro CS5.
    With Premiere Pro 6.0 I could move/drag clips on the time-line and their linked audio would move with them.  If I moved the video clip to another video track, say, above an existing clip, the audio would also move to a free audio track and not automically write over any existing audio.  This would allow me to easily reorder clips on the timeline by simply moving them around and using other video tracks as temporary storage locations... and not lose or write over any other existing audio.
    However in Premiere Pro CS5 if I do the same thing, the video will move to the other video track I move it to, but the audio will stay in the say audio track and will write-over any existing audio when the mouse button is released.  The only way around this I can find in the manual is to: (1) drag the video to the other video track, and (2) press and hold the <SHIFT> key, whilst, (3) draging the linked audio to another audio track to avoid existing audio from being over-written.
    My question:  Is there a configuation I can set in CS5 to allow moving/draging of clips to work like in Premiere Pro 6.0?  I have already messed up multiple times in CS5 by inadvertently over-writing existing audio.
    Your expert advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Your reply is not helpful.  Just so you know, I have read through the manual extensively and could not find an answer for my question.  AND that's why I brought my question here.
    Perhaps I missed something in the manual.  Would you mind re-reading my question and helping me if it is so easy?!
    This has been frustrating for me for the last three months and I thought I would come to this forum for some expert advice.  So far I have been told that CS5 is designed to be like this (does not answer my question), and now you tell me to look up the manual (again does not answer my question).
    I'm amazed by responses that miss the question entirely and give helpful suggestions like that!

  • Creative Cloud apps loads forever and does not show a list

    Hello.
    I am trying to install Photoshop using Creative Cloud, but for some reason when I click the apps tab, it shows a spinning loading icon indicating that it is doing some work, but it never finishes and I am not able to get a list of my programs like I can see on pictures on the Adobe website.
    Do you know how I can get it to display my apps? Is there a way to get logs on what is going on? Can I re-download Creative Cloud or is there some other way to fix this? I am not able to use my purchased Photoshop because of this problem.

  • Creative Cloud says 'Download Error' and will not reload applications

    I need the newest version of Premiere CC and my adobe creative cloud desktop application manager refuses to connect for updates, I have internet connection and valid creative cloud account. Im stuck on premiere version 7.2.2 and I need to be able to open projects created with the newer verison 8. Ive tried signing out and back in to the cloud account as well as re-downloading it.

    Have you tried these steps :
    1.  Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename it to OOBE.old
    2. Enable root account: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528 and log on to root
    3. Disable any security software if installed on Mac
    4.Delete opm.db file located at :MAC : ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    (opm.db file is present in your user library.This library is hidden from MAC 10.7 onwards.
    So in order to locate that,
    Click on Go at the top
    Select Go to folder
    type ~/library/
    This will take you to the library folder and then you can locate opm.db file at Application Support/Adobe)
    5. Download CC desktop from www.creative.adobe.com and try to install it. Incase you are not successfull then please Check the Activity Monitor and see if AAM process is running, if yes then try to kill the process.opm.db file needs to be deleted in order to process further. WIN 7 and 8 (64 bit):
    Rename OOBE to OOBE_old located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    Relaunch the Browser
    Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
    Sign in with Adobe ID and password and download CC desktop app.

    In case the issue is still not resolved , you can contact Adobe Support.

    Hi there! I am going to buy this cool mp3 player but just one thing, I want to make sure that this player really don't need a driver when you plug it on a PC. That would be cool especially when you are going to transfer your files on another PC and you don't have to install all the softwares/drivers. Please let me know. Thank you.

    It only needs a driver for Windows 98SE. It doesn't need one for Windows Me, 2000 and XP.

  • How NOT to do security & customer support

    Our Skype account was suspended, for reasons unknown to me - but understandable, since security is important.
    (And no, it was not one of those pesky scam emails, and OF COURSE I tried to log in directly via Skype (on both my Mac and my iPad) and not via the provided link and proceeded from there)
    The problem is that, in order to unlock my account, I have to answer questions that I never knew I was going to be asked:
    For us to lift the restriction on your account, please provide us with the following information:
    1) In what year did you create your account?
    WTF? That was AGES ago! Somewhere between 2004 and 2008 I think.
    2) In which country/region did you create your account?
    WTF? Can't remember if I started using Skype when I worked in New Zealand, Scotland, or Germany. I still mostly use iChat and FaceTime.
    3) What payment method did you use?
    WTF? I think PayPal but I'm not sure - too long ago. And the credit card I might have used has expired years ago.
    4) Tell us the details of up to three of your Skype contacts. You can use their actual name or Skype Name if you know it.
    Is that ANY of your business??? Isn't that kind of information supposed to be private??? That’s pretty much an admission that they snoop through all your stuff …
    Please be aware that if the information you will provide us are missing or incorrect, we are unable to verify your identity and process your request.
    So after 10 (?) years we lost our Skype account and contacts in it.
    I can't even contact their support or the forum because - you guessed it - YOU HAVE TO LOG INTO YOUR SKYPE ACCOUNT FIRST!!!

    The SOFTWARE isn't very good, but the COMPANY behind it is simply atrocious! But what can you expect from Microsoft?!
    What is really annoying is that nowhere, absolutely nowhere, am I being told what "unusual activity" is taking place. To be honest, I doubt there even IS any unusual activity - otherwise a simple password reset would have done it.
    The ONLY way I was able to contact them was by logging in with my Hotmail account (which I did not really want to do as they are separate accounts). Thanks Microsoft - I guess that was the aim of this little exercise … still can't get into our Skype account but now I can contact their “help” …
    I got to “chat” with “Dan A.” who says “sorry” a lot and explains that management sets the bar for “security” very high. Asking obscure questions which users can't answer isn’t “high standards”, that’s INCOMPETENCE!
    After going through all kind of hoops we arrive at:
    "I really want to help you on this since it is clearly your account, But since I have to follow our process with regards to account's security, I really recommend you to go through this verification. I am sorry, I am just following orders. I am very very sorry."
    Unbelievable. There is a VERY lonely brain cell at the other end of the line …
    So I ask for the problem to be escalated up the ladder. Answer:
    "I hope I can escalate this, but since your account is blocked we need to verify your account first."
    I think that brain cell just self-destructed.
    The sheer INCOMPETENCE at Microsoft is mind-blowing!
    So what am I supposed to do? Guess all possible combinations until I hit the right one so that their "high security standards" are fulfilled?
    Years of contact details and some money down the drain because Microsoft **bleep**ed up as usual. Bad security, incompetent support, out of this world arrogance. I just KNEW they would **bleep** up Skype when they took over - 2.8 was the last decent version (and I hope you all are aware that the ONLY reason to force people onto the newer versions and make it incompatible with the old one was so that they and the NSA can listen in).

    I´m actually quite pissed off now... I´ve been trying to find Adobe Support or a telephone number to call, but all I can find is this Forum help site.

    I searched the web for the best photo editing software to be used with Mac. Adobe Photoshop Elements 13came up on top. I followed the links and clicked my way through the order process... When I was done, I see that I had purchased  the software for Windows.
    I wanted to call Adobe so I could change to Mac software, but can´t find out where to do this?? Now I am wasting a perfectly good morning trying to find contact information to Adobe.

  • Creative Suite 3 or 4, and on which Mac?

    I know this is the PS forum, but I have a question about the whole Creative Suite for Design bundle, and did not see a good place to ask it.
    What advice would give to someone who is starting from scratch: buy the tCS3 or the CS4 bundle? And then to run it - iMac or Mac Pro? The budget is generous but not unlimited, so a totally decked out Mac Pro with maxed out RAM and drives is out of the question; there are no plans for video work/3D and in general I would say the performance requirements/expectations are middle of the road.

    ... there had to have been plenty of boxes of genuine CS3 disks and serial numbers that were already in the distribution channels when CS4 was released...
    ...and, my guess would be that every authorized Adobe retailer was "asked" to send all remaining CS3 stock back to Adobe once CS4 was released.

    1. You can see the deployed application under the "Portal Applications"
    2. If you want to create an iView out of it. right click on the application -> copy. than press right click in the folder you want the iView will be created and paste ad pcd object.
