Credit Line - Refund

I will keep it as simple and short as I can.
I made a purchase on my Best Buy credit card of $300 for a phone. Within the next few days I made a payment to the Best Buy credit card online for the phone purchase I made (Used my Suntrust debit card to pay it). It processed and was completed. I do have a balance for other products I have purchased in the past (which is on a 6 month finance).
Since the employee credited it back, how exactly will my card get credited back since it's a credit line and not debit? I don't want the refund to pay back what I owe on my credit line.
What actions can I do? Sorry, I am new to this.

Hello GoProDavidLe-
I am sorry that your purchase was not what you expected and you had to process a return, no problem Best Buy understands!
Purchases made online when returned, are usually processed back to the original form of payment. If you are concern for the payment that you already process on your Best Buy credit card, you will need to speak directly to CitiBank. In my past experiences, the payment that I process usually is credited to my current balance. To reach CitiBank, I encourage you to call 1-888-574-1301. • Non Deduction of TDS in Case of Open Credit Line Items in GR/IR account

    Dear Experts,
I would like to request you to please give ur suggestion/advise in the below issue:-
In our earlier legacy system(oracle) we used make provision entry based upon the activity done & certified by respective non finance dept by(against which vendor invoices are not received before month closing):-
On the last day of the month:-
    Handling Exp    Dr
    Ware House Exp Dr
    Other many Exp  Dr
Current Liab & Prov A/c Cr
As per IT dept we have to deduct TDS at the time of crediting the vendor or any other suspense a/c and deposit it by next month by 7th day . To avoid non deduction of TDS against such provisional expenses we used to reverse the same entry on the 1st of next month:-
Current Liab & Prov A/c Dr
    Handling Exp     Cr
    Ware House Exp Cr
    Other Exp           Cr
Now in SAP we r not doing manual entries like above:-
The entries are huge and so many Exp get debited & GR/IR A/c get credited. Thus there is a very much possibility that the IT person or IT Auditor treat it(GR/IR) as suspense a/c and can give comments on his report about non deduction/deposition of TDS.
In SAP there is an option to transfer all these credit open items into an clearing a/c and reverse it in the 1st of next month. But that time entry will be a sunder:-
On the last date of the month
    GR/IR Account   Dr
C/L Prov Clearing A/c  Cr    (It will be created)
On the first date of the month
    C/L Prov Clearing A/c  Dr
    GR/IR Account           Cr
But again C/L Prov Clearing A/c can be interpreted as a supense A/c.
    We need entries like under:-
On the last date of the month let all credit open item of GR/IR as it is.
On the first date of the next month all Credit Line items document to be reversed and again reposting of same on the same day.
I,e all Exp to be credited
         All GR/IR to be debited
(Revarsal of all open GR/IR credit line items) on 1st of next month
On same day again the original entries which are reversed to be created
    All Exp to be deited
    All GR/Ir to be credited.
Whether above is possible, if not then how other companies in India are handling the issue.

    Alok

  • My experience with Credit Line Increase at Capital One

Just thought i'd share my experience (and contribute for the forum) to help those who seek to increase their credit line.  This is just my experience but it seems to work. A month ago i applied for and got two new credit cards after 16 years of NO credit card useage and not so good credit.  I made sure to pay off all debts including student loans and colections accounts prior to applying.  First credit card was a Credit One card with a $300 limit.  I have since cancelled them since the low limit did nothing for me.  I also got a Capital One Quiksilver One with a $3000 limit.  During the month of owning this card i: -Charge EVERYTHING on my credit card.  Made very frequent charges.  I charged everything from a $1 coke at the vending machine to my $2700 rent.  Credit card companies have high charges for merchants, this is one of the main ways they make money.  They will love you if you pay everything with their credit card so long you make your payments in full.-Once you run your balance up as high as your comfortable doing, make a payment even if it's not month end.  Do not go exactly to or over your credit limit!-Make frequent payments.  I made 4 or 5 payments within my first month of having my new credit card.  $2700 charge, payment posted.  $400 in random charges, payment posted.  $250 in random charges, payment posted. Within 3 weeks of me owning my Capital One Quicksilver One, they tripled my credit line from $3000 to $9000.  Whoohoo! That's all.  Enjoy your credit card in good health and with good creditworthness.

  • Need to apply a separate credit line item in Invoice doc.

    Dear SAP experts,
Is it possible to apply a separate credit line item on a invoice document to reduce the net amount billed against that invoice and it has to show in invoice ouput form.
    Thanks and regards,
    Hari Challa.

    Hi,
Yes it is possible.create a condition type of discount with access sequence containing Billing document type and say sales org.
And in copy control maintain the pricing type to redertermine pricing. So this condition type will get executed in billing document only and not in sales order.
    Reward points if useful

  • Debit & credit line item clearing in F-53

    Dear All,
Am in the process of developing payment advice for my client, one of his requirement is while making payment against vendor in F-53, he selecting debit (KG) and credit (KR) line items against the vendor and he paying for the remaining amount. But when am checking the entries in table against clearing document, invoice document does not appears there, but showing debit & credit line items which we cleared. But he wants credit line item to appear in payment advice and in deduction he needs debit line item.
Kindly suggest me is there any way out for capturing invoice number for these two line items to appear in payment advice.
    Regards,
    Balaji.c

    Hi IMK,
Am not using SAP std payment advice have developed Y report where the input field is payment document number and against that system will pick the invoice document, for KR & RE, its working fine but for KG where my vendor clearing in F-53 along with KR and for remaining amount he paying to vendor, for this scenario system not showing KG document number against payment document number in table entries.
My issue how to show cleared debit line item in payment advice after doing F-53.

  • Reverse Credit Line item from Profit Center.

    Hello Expets
May any body say how can I reverse a cr line item from profit Center in which extra credit line item came through PO once and through internal order once i.e bcoz in PO there was link once  Profit center as well as Internal order.
If I do through 9kEO,it can be reversed but where will hit other line item i.e which profit center.
Plz plz tell me process how can I reverse that extra line item from profit center.
    Thanks

You will probably find that, in the internal order master data, there is a link to the profit centre. So, if you do not want the costs on the profit centre, you will need to take it off the internal order, remove the link, and then repost. making sure that the PO no longer has the link to the profit centre.
BTW, posting to a profit centre is not an alternative to posting to an internal order, they usually go together.
So why do you not want the posting on the profit centre?

  • Customer credit card refund

    Hi everyone,
I issued a credit memo to a customer because they returned some items.
The invoice was originally paid by credit card and they requested to refund their card.
These are the steps I took:
Sales A/R> Credit memo> Enter all information>click the Accounting tab and on the credit card transaction section,  select  the original charge> Add the CM and the message "credit card refunded" appeared on the bottom of the screen. The refund was also processed thru the gateway. So I thought everything worked.
However, the credit card refund does not show under Banking>Deposit>Credit card tab and when I checked the BP master data ,I noticed that the payment showed up as an Outgoing payment.
How do I fix? I need the payment to go to Incoming instead of Outgoing.
    Any help would be appreciated

I am using SAP Business One and am having the same issue...  Everyone knows the credit card companies net together your sales and credits into one bank transfer. So, shouldn't the software work on the same premise, allowing outgoing and incoming payments regarding customers using the Payment Means Credit Card show in your deposit screen, allowing you to net your incoming and outgoing into one Deposit? You can make the outgoing payment to the customer for the refund and have it post to the Credit Card Clearing account, but it still won't show on the deposit screen.  It certainly will make for a diffucult bank rec if you have to constantly choose a Deposit and a Payment to net to one bank transaction.
Has anyone found a way to handle this issue??
We are not currently using an add-on. We are processing our credit card transactions outside SAP and posting them into SAP through Incoming Payments and Outgoing Payments.
I assume you can't to a negative Incoming Payment...

  • Credit card refund from AR on creating a credit memo

AR (11.5.1) does not have functionality to refund credit card payments back to the card holders amount.
Has any one created a custom solution to automate credit card refunds after a credit-memo is created in AR? I mean actually crediting the cardholders account --- not just updating statuses within the Oracle apps.
    Thanks for your responses.

  • What's your Discover Credit Line?

Just curious. I've heard that Discover is stingy with handing out high limits.I got my Discover More this September, and they gave me $3500. A bit stingy as my other cards are all between $7k and $12k. When the nice lady on the phone verified some information she asked if that was high enough. I was afraid to ask for more and said it was ok. Maybe I should have been bold and requested more?Anyway, I only spend about $200 to $600 on it per month, so the line of credit is completely sufficient. I hope though that they will raise it in the future. I've read on here that when people redeem $50 of their cashback for statement credit, this will often trigger a credit line increase. So, what was the limit of your Discover when you got it? And, has it been increased (or even decreased) ever since?  Mod Note: This is an old thread that has been revived. • How do you reset the credit line in iMovie?

  • Credit Card Refunds, Deposit Form, and Bank Reconciliation

Our Credit Card Refunds do not show in the Deposit Formm, can they?
Without the refunds showing in the Deposit form, our bank reconciliation does not match the bank.  We have to create a separate JE to move the refund from undeposited cash to the bank account.  Now the bank shows one deposit of $100 and we have two transactions, a deposit for $120 and a refund for -$20 for a combined total of $100.
This make the audit trail very convoluted.
Is there a setting to show the refunds in the Deposit Form?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Thanks Gordon,
We do add the credit memo and payment on account.  We want this payment on account to show in the deposit form so that the deposit matches the credit card deposit.
Deposit the following amounts $10 + $12 +7 and refund $2.  Our credit card processor deposits $27.  SAP deposits $29 via the Deposit form and then we create a journal entry for the $2 refund.  We would prefer our reconciliation to match the bank statement and show a single entry for $27.
    Thanks for your help anyway.

  • Using credit line before Chapter 7 discharge?

Hi everyone! I've already filed for Chapter 7 and my hearing with the trustee is in a little over two weeks. I have a credit line with PayPal Credit that I haven't touched in over 1 1/2 years and thought it would be a good way to start rebuilding my credit. Does anyone know if this is possible (I also have an Old Navy CC that I haven't used in about two years and thought of using that as another way to rebuild my credit too) or do I need to wait until I meet with the trustee or even discharge? I've put in a call to my attorney about this but I've been told she's been in court and have yet to hear from her. Was wondering if anyone here had an answer. Thank you.

Thank you.Usually the 341 is 30 days from the date of your Bk filing date. You are two weeks away from your 341 so you filed Bk approximately 2 weeks ago. It is waaayyyy to early to start thinking about using cards that may or may not have been discharged in your current Bk. The creditors do close out zero balance cards (sometimes) when you file but it isn't instant. Sometimes it takes a while to process the filing on your accounts. Sometimes creditors make a mistake and leave the accounts open when they are zero balance, there is no way to know. However, as all the above have posted, it is not wise to start charging up your cards during your bk or to start applying for new credit. Wait until you have your discharge in hand (or on PACER). In the meantime, the best thing you can do is rework your budget and start a savings plan so when you are discharged you have new habits that don't include running up debt on credit cards.

  • Keep or close low credit line cards

I have been rebounding from a BK in June of 2013 and I have opened 3 low credit line, higher interest rate and AF cards. Through on time payments and keeping a low utilization with my 3 Capital One cards, I now have limits of 1250.00 on my secured card, 2,300.00 on my Sony card and 1750.00 on my Quicksilver One card. My question is, should I pay off my sub prime cards and sockdrawer them then cancel them before the AF hits or just go ahead and pay them off and cancel them now? The combined limits between the 3 cards is 1,500.

  • Reporting date from Credit Lines & When 3 credit bureaus update?

We are waiting to get pre approved for a home loan. I started working on my credit 6 months ago and I estimate that after last month's payments (paid off 100% of my credit cards and making on time payments for the last 6 months), I will finally reach the threshold I need to get pre-approved. DTI is excellent and my husband's scores are great. We are just waiting for mine to gain the points needed. Anyway, I have tracked my credit lines reporting for the last 6 months and all report as follows: Auto - 30th of every monthStudent loans - 2nd of the following monthCredit card - 3rd of following monthCredit card - 10th of following month I made all my July payments and it is now August 7th. By now, Auto, Student, Credit Card 1 will have reported. When will the credit bureaus show the report? I was waiting until myfico and credit Karma sent me alerts, but I noticed there is a lag for when alert me. If I don't have to wait for their alerts, I could have the mortgage company pull my credit on the 11th to issue the pre-approval. But if there is a lag between when the credit lines report and the 3 credit bureaus actually show the update (even if they are back dating them), then I don't want to have him pull the reports too soon.  So, my question is, when the credit lines report, is that reflected on my report instantaneously and just credit Karma and myfico is lagging? Or is there a true lag from when the credit lines report and the 3 credit burearus update?

Updates are not instantaneous.  With most lenders, they transmit the data on the statement cut date, but the CRA's do not instantly report.  Typiclly within 3 to 5 days of the statement reporting, you will see updates.  TU can be slower to update -- sometimes 7 to 10 days. You need to make sure that at least one of your credit cards is reporting a small balance.  $5 is fine.  FICO will penalize you for having all zereo balances on credit cards.  Sometimes this can be as much as 15 points off your scores for having all zero balance credit cards.

  • Payment terms for Customer Invoice with a credit line item

    Hi all,
We have a business scenario where we create customer invoices on a weekly basis. The payment terms for these items are a certain payment discount if paid within 365 days. Included in these invoices are credit items which relate to refunds that are due to the customer.
Below is a scenario for Customer XXXX:
    Invoice 1 Baseline date 12.01.2007
    Invoice 2 Baseline date 08.02.2008
    Invoice 3 Baseline date 15.02.2008
I have set up a payment run for this customer to direct debit their items. In my scenario I only want to pick up the first two invoices.
Therefore I set up the payment run to pick up those items which are due up to 09.02.2009, setting the next payment run posting date to 10.02.2009. I would expect the system to pick up only the first two invoices.
What the system does is that it pays/collects the first two invoices in total, but then selects only the credit items of invoice 3. I would expect it to ignore Invoice 3 altogether.
In another example if I had the same invoices, but invoice 3 did not have any credit items involved, then it does ignore invoice 3 as
    expected.
I need to understand why for the credit items within a customer invoice are treated differently in relation to payment terms.
    Thanks
    Natalie

In the customer master assign a different credit memo term than the payment term.
Try changing the credit memo term for 3rd Invoice as such it do not fall in your selection criteria.
