CRM 4.0 and 5.0 Differences

Can you send me a .pdf or webpage that details the differences between CRM 4.0 and 5.0.  I was told the 5.0 release notes has this information.  I do not know where I go to access them.  If anyone has a .pdf that would be helpful,

  • Difference between SAP-CRM 2007 UI and previous version UI.

    hi,
anyone knows the differences difference between SAP-CRM 2007 UI and previous version UI.
anykind of links or files are helpful.
    regards.
    raman.

    Hi,
actually quite a late response and I think all the rather technically focuses comments have already been given, incl. the link to a really good slide deck, that explains all the technical architecture details on what exactly we did.
From an end user perspective some other statements on what we did:
    (1) From an information architecture and visualization perspective we acted based on feedback from our customers in the last years, which led to some restructuring of the screen, e.g. moving the navigation bar from the top area of the screen (horizontal) to the left hand side --> sounds simple but users tend to have problem seeing thing at the top of the screen. We also decided to arrange the information for e.g. an account or an opportunity not in a tab oriented format. Again usability tests in CRM had shown that users often find it hard to see and understand that tabs contain additional information. We now show the details in assignment blocks below the header information in a scrollable format. Vertical scrolling is a behavior of a screen that most users know from their internet experience. Those are just two exampels of what we did in this area
    (2) We also have put a large focus on well known web behaviors, like drag & drop and personalization in general, knowing that on the one hand side, no matter what standard UI we deliver, users tend to adapt it exactly based on their needs and wishes. So you will find really easy to understand personalization options everywhere in the new CRM Web Client UI. To achieve this we used lots of web 2.0 techologies that enable especially these easy interactive capabilitites.
    (3) Finally, and this relates directly to the arguments mentioned in (2) we focused as well on really easy UI configuration. Again, in every customer project user interface changes are made, to adapt the SAP default to the customers needs. here we invested a lot to make the 60-80% most common UI changes done in projects as easy as possible, that even non-technical people can generally do it (like Power users).
Hope this clarifies some arguments what from the users point of view has been done and what the advantages are.
When you follow the same link as mentioned by Nadine above, you can also find a presentation UI Concept, which explains all the details rather from a users perspective.
Best regards and enjoy the new UI ..and every feedback is very much welcome, only with your feedback we can improve the solution even more.

  • CRM 6.0 vs CRM 5.0 technical and Features & functionality difference.

    Hi,
For Internet Sales i.e. B2B and B2C, Evaluating CRM 5.0 and 6.0 but dont know for which version we should select, Had search market place but here it seems to be it does not have much of difference between 5.0 and 6.0..
Please help to provide me solid proff for my company to know why we should select CRM 6.0 then CRM 5.0 along with Major difference between these two from End User point of view.
    Thanks so much in advance.
    Regards,
    Brijesh

    Brijesh,
For some reason your last post did not show up on this thread.. However I did get the e-mail.
I'm not really sure about IE 7 support, but I would say you can always go to the PAM
http://service.sap.com/pam to determine the browser level support.
In your case if you have a proven template on CRM 5.0 then you probably don't have as much of a case for CRM 6.0 except perhaps browser support and even then that would be questionable.
For more details you might want to buy the CRM 2007 OKP product that woudl give you a detailed deltas on the differences or look at the release notes form CRM 2007.  The release notes are about 500 pages, but it will tell you what has been changed/added since the last release.
You can also look at the presentations at:
    http://service.sap.com/crm
Choose CRM 2007 -> Web Channel.
That should be a good start and cause you to have many more questions.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • What's the difference between CRM 5.0 and CRM 2007?

    Hello Experts:
    I will join a CRM upgrade project(from 5.0 to 2007). Now I am using CRM5.0.

  • Difference between CRM  5.0 and 4.0  version.

    Hello Experts,
Please let me know the exacat difference between CRM 5.0 version and 4.0 version.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi Koti,
There are some significant differences between CRM 4.0 and CRM 5.0.
    1. IC Web : Locking and Handling of entities should be handled explicitly in CRM
4.0 where as the same is handled implicitly in CRM 5.0.
    2. In 4.0 most of the Std Classes can be inherited but in 5.0 most of the Std
Classes cannot be inherited as they are made as Final  Classes.
    3. CRM 5.0 and 5.1 so on.... versions have introduced CRM specific User Interface which is very flexible and simplified as you can jus drag and drop the objects for creation of custom application.
    Thanks
    Siva

  • CRM 5.0 and 2007 (6.0) Differences

    Hi,
I'm looking for information regarding the differences between CRM 5.0 and 2007 (6.0).
I have looked in the release notes but they don't mention anything.
I need the information, so I can write a recommendation regarding why we should upgrade before or after our next heavy CRM project.
    Kind Regards
    Michael

    Hi,
Dinaker ist right, the main move from CRM 2005 to CRM 2007 was made regarding the User Inteface Design.
SAP GUI and People Centric UI have been completely replaced for the business user by the new SAP CRM Web Client UI, which is based on a new UI layer architecture (derived from the IC Web Client) but also provides a new information architecture as well as navigation concept.
So to make it simple, the look and feel has completely changed and user feedback tells us, that it is much more appealing, usable and enjoyable to work with the new UI. Just check out the posted Demos (short 2min videos) here on BPX, they can give you a perfect impression on how the new UI looks and feels.
We also, as Dinaker already stated, put in lots of standard features that every user knows from his experience in the internet... easy drag & drop options, Excel like filtering and sorting, lots of personalization options (Skin changes was mentioned already).
But also behind the scenes lots of changes took place: the skin can easily be adapted only via CSS (cascading style sheet) changes without having to touch the HTML itself, the UI configuration has dramatically changed, now even a skilled business user could do the changes, as you can call the UI Configuration screen directly out of the business role. The Role configuration was significantly enhanced and is more flexible now.
On the functionality side also significant investments have been made, especially in the area of Trade Promotion Management, Market development funds, but also several improvements in CRM Sales etc.
Anyway way too much to go into details now. There are several overview presentations available, just get in contact with your main contact at SAP and he will be able to provide you with slide deck summarizing what is new.
    hope this helps.
    Ciao Ingo

  • Use of clients 000 and 001 & their differences?

    hi guys,
Any one explan me the use of predefined clients 000 and 001
    The differences between them

    Hi,
Clients 000, 001 and 066 are standard clients that are pre-delivered by SAP. These clients are not supposed to be used in development, quality and production environments.
Client 000 is basically used as working client only when you do support pack upgrade or ABAP load generations (SGEN) and implementing additional languages, etc. Otherwise, client 000 should not be used as a working client. The same applies to client 001. But the only exception with 001 is, with Solution Manager, 001 will be your working client. You will do all configurations and obtain support from SAP through this client. With other Systems like BW and CRM, this client (001) will not be a working client. Two standard users (SAP* and DDIC) are defined in the clients 000 and 001.The client 066 is used only for EarlyWatch functions (Monitoring and performance). The user EarlyWatch is delivered in client 066 and is protected using the password SUPPORT. This password needs to be changed for security purposes.

  • Mapping Z-fields of BP in CRM to ECC and vice versa

    Hi Gurus,
Z-fields for BP were created in CRM using EEWB and AET tool. These z-fields need to be transferred from CRM to ECC, standard fields like KNB1-ALTKN, KNKK-REVDB,KNKA-KLIME... etc.
Now, that these z-fields are added in the BDoc. I believe no enhancement is required on CRM.
Please guide me on how to map these z-fields from CRM to standard feilds of ECC.
    Thanks & Regards

Edited by: Praveen on Apr 19, 2010 10:19 AM

    Hi,
Thats right! C03 best practices would be certainly helpful to you.
Few important steps for BP repllication from CRM to ECC would be
In CRM , First define your Logical destination in BD54 .
    1) SU01 Transaction to create users : create user in CRM & R/3
    2) Transaction code SM59 : Create RFC DESTINATION .. here u use the users created for reaching into R/3 from CRM
    3) transaction code: SMOEAC: ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE:-
here define Publication, subscription and site ( OLTP) , and define replication objects ( like BUPA_MAIN, BUPA_REL)
    4) define Queue: SMQR and SMQS - inbound and outbound queue /
    Que registration .
    5) check entry in R/3 side tables:- Make the proper entry into R/3 side tables in SM30
    a)CRMRFCPAR
    b)CRMPAROLTP
    c)CRMSUBTAB
    d) CRMCONSUM
These are important steps for Middleware settings between CRM & R/3
In addition to this , you need to correctly define your
    1) in CRM ,BP GROUPINGS with Internal Number range
    2) in R/3 define "Account Group" with "External Number Range" for BUSINESS PARTNER
    3) In R/3 , Mapping of CRM CLASSIFICATION with R/3 account group...e.g. Classification B for customer with ACCOUNT group of R/3
You need to also map in CRM  correctly the partner functions and R/3 Partner functions.
