CRXI Active X vs. Java "Enter values" Window

Hi,
I'm migrating the viewer from Active X based application to Java thick client.
Everything works fine (so far) except the "Enter Values" window - CR XI offered nice, user friendly html window with all parameters in one place and calendar picker for dates. The same report loaded to Java App uses the dialog similar to the dialog from Crystal Reports 9: Every parameter on separate panel, no support for dates.
Is it possible to use the same "Enter Values" window as in Crystal Reports XI? Do I have to create own wrapper to Parameter Fields?

Yes you will likely have to create your own prompt page if you aren't happy with the java viewer prompt.
The ActiveX viewer doesn't have an exposed API or exposed modules that you can take and use elsewhere.

So, When I create an Activity/Task in CRM Backend I don´t have problem. I can see in my mobile device (Iphone).
The problem is when I try to create a new activity in App CRM Sales (Iphone).
I think that there is some obligatory field in CRM Backend, but that in App CRM there isn´t to filled in it.

Getting an error while activating a planning area "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"

Dear S&OP community,
I am getting following error while creating a planning ares in a newly installed sandbox. "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level".
This what I did...
1) Created new attributes and master data objects and activated them successfully.
2) Time profile created and activated successfully
3) Trying to create planing area by assigning time profile in step 2 and assigned master data from step1..Unable to save the data and system returns
this error - "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"
My understanding is time profile needs to be active but doesn't have to have values...
Any help is appreciated.

Reg: User Entered Value in LOV Window

Hi All,
Following is the use case.
I have an LOV ("PO Number") with its own controller. If user enters a partial value in LOV Field, (say 513),
LOV Window comes up with results like PO Number starting with 513. Suppose, If user modifies the search value from 513 to 913,
LOV query needs to get executed with new search value (913).
Can you please suggest me to capture the new user entered value (913) in the controller.
I tried the following. But, poNum value obtained through below code is 513(old value - value entered in LOV of base page.)
Dictionary passiveCriteria = (Dictionary)pageContext.getLovCriteriaItems();
String poNum = (String)passiveCriteria.get("PosPoNumberInternalLov1");
Is there any other way, i can find out the new user entered value in LOV Window.

Hi Gyan,
My requirement is that, I need to make some processing/manipulation on the user entered search value for the LOV.
If the user enters value in base page, i am able to get the value and process it.
But, If user clicks on LOV Window, enters a new value in search field, i am not able to capture the new value.
Please suggest accordingly.

MSA - creating/changing activity for bp error : enter a valid value for bp

Hello experts,
while using msa with activites, on one client for one bp
I cannot create/change an activity: error:
insert a valid value for bp
This happens only for one bp on this client,
on other clients this bp works fine.
When I look in old activites for this bp, there in activity -> detail
the field bp (hyper link) is not filled.
I think there is a problem with the incorrect bp, but in which tables
can search for this ?

Hi,
I assume that the BP is present in table smokna1 but not available in smokna1sht (anymore).
When creating an activity the BP selection is based on smokna1, but the field/property validation is based on smokna1sht (see error message).
But unfortunately I don't have any idea for now how to download this particular record to this site...

ADOBE Interactive Form in webdynpro not allowing to enter value

Hi,
I have developed a Adobe interactive form in SFP and then i developed webdynpro component , then integrated into webdynpro. while running the webdynpro application which is showing the adobeform but the input fields are not allowed to enter value.
The same adobe form can be allowed to enter values while running from the report. i dunno how to set the value of the importing parameter fillable = 'X' in webdynpro.

The above mentioned setting are all active like Zc...Layout, enabled check box etc.. but when i make it to Activex which is not displaying form in the portal while running the application instead it shows red color X mark.. is there any setting required to run adobe with webdynpro ..
1.) any notes or patches ???
2.) is activex mandatory for running interactive form in webdunpro? if yes what are system setting required....

I have maintained Activity Rates through KP26. On Activity Master I have set Act. price indicator = 5.
Now when i am executing KSII it is giving me error message as :
All activity prices are manually entered
Message no. KP211
Diagnosis
All activity prices in controlling area FLGP, fiscal year 2011, and version 0 were determined and set as manually entered prices.
In actual price calculation, all plan activity prices, meaning those calculated automatically (activity price indicator 1 and 2) and those set manually (activity price indicator 3), are treated as if they have been set manually.
System Response
The SAP System cannot calculate activity prices automatically.
Processing is cancelled.
Procedure
Check your activity type planning. To calculate the activity price automatically, you must set the activity price indicator accordingly.
Proceed
Please let me know if I need to done any additional settings.

"The error message KP211 is display by the system due
to the SAP System cannot calculate activity prices automatically.
(can you review the settings in the system).
The procedure that you have to follow is to review transaction code
KP26 and your activity types.
From viewpoint of actual price iteration all plan prices are political
in the sense that 'prices does not change during actual price
iteration'. If all activity types have indicator 1 then everything
will be evaluated with plan price in actual. So actual price iteration
has nothing to compute because no price will be changed. You have to
set price indicator to 5 or 6 in actual price indicator for at least
one activity type in order to calculate the actual activity price.
When you change some activity type master data in transaction KL02,
these changes take effect in all relevant tables, BUT please notice
that the values of TARKZ, TARKZ_I etc. are only DEFAULT values for
activity planning and therefore ONLY READ ONCE when the relevant
planning set is created. Subsequent changes to the master data (default
value) take not effect in the planning sets. You have to change the
values in every single planning set manually."
You indicates that for the activity types you have set in the master data
actual price indicator to 5 (Actual price, automatically based on
on activity). But this is only a default value and can be overwritten
for example during planning.
Please see table COKL for cost center / activity type if have an empty field for
the actual price indicator. Thus the system only finds the plan price
indicators during price calculation and message KP 211 is justified if
you consider the following part of the long text:
In actual price calculation, all plan activity prices, meaning those
calculated automatically (activity price indicator 1 and 2) and
those set manually (activity price indicator 3), are treated as if they
have been set manually.
In order to run KSII as expected by you, you have to execute trans.
KP26 for the cost center and activity type using layout 1-204
(Activity Types: Indicators).
Here you can set the actual price indicator to 5.
Afterwards there should be no further problem with KSII.

Reply activity throwing a java.lang.NullPointerException

I have a synchronous process that includes a FileAdapter read. When the FileAdapter finds the file to read, the process is kicked off. If the process errors out, I call a Reply activity to the client to end the process. My Reply activity throws a "java.lang.NullPointerException", even when I assign a value to it's variable.
Is this because the "client" is never instantiated because the process is kicked off by a FileAdapter and not from a call to the client?
Can anyone help me? This is rather important...

I am using the fault handlers.
I've since solved my problem, though. There was no reason I needed a Reply activity to begin with. My problem was, I was validating, then when the validation failed, i wanted a database table to be updated and then have the process quit. I was trying to use a Reply activity to automatically end the process, but the Reply was throwing the "nullPointerException" which was then caught by my fault handlers, and the afore mentioned database was updated again, which it shouldn't have been. I believe the problem, though, was that since my process was being kicked off from a FileAdapter and not the client, when I tried to reply to the client, it simply wasn't there.
So in the end, i don't need the Reply activity at all. Basically, it was lousy logic on my part.

Can the Parameter Enter Value screen size be adjusted?

I have a report that will have up to 4 to 5+ different individual Parameters that will require the users to populate.
Since I am using a larger number of parameters the Enter Value screen size is small and not all of the parameters are displayed on one screen. the users are required to scroll down in order to see and populate the other Parameter selections.
Is there a way to adjust the default size of the Parameter enter Value screen that the end users will see when using the Cyrstal Report Viewer?

Try Service Pack 3, if still not then it's likely the type of parameters you are using.
Bottom line is if there is no option to change the size of that window. I believe someone asked for this and I entered it in as an enhancement request. Some future version may eventually have the ability to auto-size.
At the top of this forum you'll see a Feature Request link, add your suggestion there, search first though in both of the links.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Powershell to create pop box which then creates a folder (with entered value) and sub folder with specific security

Complete novice to powershell would love some help to assist a new windows storage workflow I am implementing.
I have a windows server 2012 file server (\\FS01) and projects share \\fs01\projects.
We use job numbers to create a project and name the folders with the job num (eg Job Num XX12345 , \\fs01\projects\XX12345)
Then after each project folder is created we will create 4 subfolders underneath and specify the following rights to the following AD groups.
Folder Name - AD Group- Permission
Scoping - Project_Management -RW
Delivery - Project_Management -R
Finance - Finance- RW
Assets - Creative - R
I would like to create a script that lives in the route of \\FS01\Projects and when clicked a pop up box appears, the end users enters the job code and then the script sets up the folder with the entered value and creates sub folders with the referenced
AD groups and security.
Any help would be awesome!

Parameter 'Enter Values' dialogue not responding.

When trying to preview any crystal report from the CRXI designer, it prompts me for parameter values.
When supplying the values in the 'Enter Values' dialogue, clicking on the 'OK' or 'Cancel' buttons does not respond.
In the case of a date parameter, clicking on the datepicker icon also does not respond. It should at least bring up the datepicker control but it does nothing.
I have uninstalled and re-installed Crystal Reports XI (Release 2 with SP4) but the problem persists.

I have managed to solve the problem though.
The 'Enter Parameter Values' dialogue is HTML renderred in IE.
My IE security setting on our network does not allow javascript to be executed and thus the dialogue was not responding to any events.
I managed to resolve the issue by adding "http://localhost/" to my intanet zone in IE security settings and enabling javascript for this zone.

Java installer in Windows Vista: error 1721

Hi,
I cant install java SE in Windows Vista. I get always this error:
error 1721. There is a probleme with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
Anyone knows how I can solve it? I tryed with other java versions but I get the same error.

If all else fails, your Vista could just be screwy.
If you're willing to go that far, and you've exhausted all other options, you could try reformatting and reinstalling Vista. (Or even XP, since it's way more stable. :D)
At any rate, this doesn't seem to be the file's problem, as plenty of people have gotten it working.
Have you installed any ... "distasteful" software on your computer, or tweaked stuff like a hardcore techie? Because it's quite easy to screw with Windows. :)

Unable to enter value in editable field of ALV (set_current_cell_via_id)

In the Editable screen of ALV, I have to set the cursor on the 3rd field 'VBELN' ( which is editable ).
Using the method set_current_cell_via_id of ALV grid the focus has been set on the particular field. The field Sales order 'VBELN' is already set as editable (EDIT = 'X').
But still I am unable to enter values unless and until I click anywhere on the screen.
Please help me with the solution.

How to draw custom line in crystal report without manually entering value?

I have a bubble chart and want to represent custom lines one in x-axis and one in y-axis at the value arrived based upon an internal calculation.There is an option to manually enter value for custom line.
But i want to generate custom line at runtime without manually entering it.
Can somebody help out?
