Crystal report 9 supports frame work 2.0

Hi experts,
we are using Crysatl report 9 and build the reports using VS2003 with the frame work 1.1.4322.
We are fetching the online report by deploying the same in the IIS server which has the frame work [1.0,1.1,2.0].
When we use Asp.net frame work 1.1.433 in the virtual directory, we have are not getting any issue.
If we go for Asp.net frame work 2.0.50727 in the virtual directory, we are receiving an error message in the event log as below:

Hi,
As you must have guessed, Crystal reports 9 is not compatible / tested / supported with .NET 2.0.
Take a look at below wiki.

  • Crystal Reports Supported on Windows Server 2008?

Right now, we have it running on Server 2000, but server is being replaced. Would like to go with Windows Server 2008, but, making sure application compatibility first. I have searched the internets, have even called, and cannot get a straight answer.
What Windows OS does Crystal Reports support? And by support, I mean "work without glitches".

Well, there's both gated and ungated content, but Crystal Reports, Crystal Reports Server and Crystal Xcelsius should all have ungated equivalents.
It's just that not everyone on this side of the web browser has got the message.
    I do regret this.
The CR2008SP1 supported platforms (ungated) is found here:
Windows 2003 is supported, and Windows 2008 is supported starting with SP1.

  • APPCRASH - "Crystal Reports has stopped working"- windows message

    Hi,
I had installed Crystal reports 2008 using valid license keycode on Windows Server 2008 machine ( crystal software not registered it in Sap portal for additional support)  This was used for crystal reports development in .Net for few days, After 1 month or little more , the crystal reports stopped working and when launched from Start -> Programs -> Crystal Reports 2008 displayed a windows error message " Crystal Reports has stopped working ".
Following is the details about Problem from windows message
    Problem Event name: APPCRASH
    Application name: crw32.exe
    Application version : 12.0.0.683
    Fault Module Name: x2rpclB5.dll
    Exception Code : c0000005
    OS Version : 6.0.6001.2.1.0.274.10
I Uninstalled and reinstalled the application with valid license keycode and registered as well, but still the error remains same when the application is started.
Kindly suggest on how to resolve this issue.

Please note that this forum is dedicated to topics related to custom application development or deployment with Crystal Reports in .Net. This includes full versions of Crystal Reports as well as those versions of Crystal Reports bundled with Microsoft Visual Studio .Net.
    Reports design, Crystal Reports (exe) installation and other issues should be posted to the [Report Design forum|SAP Crystal Reports;
Now, looking up the DLL,(x2rpclB5.dll) it appears to be a Xerox printer driver(?). You mention that this started to happen recently, so the question would be; was a Xerox printer driver installed? Also, see if either uninstalling the printer driver or installing any available updates fomr Xerox will resolve the issue.

  • Crystal Reports XI crashes says "Crystal Reports has stopped working"

I'm on Crystal Reports Xi release 2 sp2, with windows 7, I also have visual studio 2008 installed.
When I try to add any fields or objects to a report in crystal reports it crashes and throws up a windows generic error message that says "Crystal Reports has stopped working"  There is no additional error information besides that...  I've tried a number of fixes, too many to list here, but no go, and apparently calling for tech support requires me to pay more money! ack.  We've already paid for the product, I just want to use it..
Does this version of crystal reports even work on windows 7?  if I could get a straight answer on that it would be a start anyway...
Sorry to be snippy, I'm just frustrated!!!

Upgrading to SP6 solved the issue.  I originally thought sp4 was the newest because of this page: http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/service_packs/crystal_reports_en.asp
    which is out of date...
    Thanks for the quick fix.

  • Crystal Reports has stopped working

I just installed Crystal Reports 2013. I am using Windows 7. The program opens up and everything looks normal but when I open a blank report and try to create a new connection, it immediately gives me the error "Crystal Reports has stopped working" and closes me out of the program. I talked to support and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the program. I tried that but still get the same exact error. Another support rep sent me an update to try. I tried that with the same results. Can someone please help me with this?

    Hi Try setting the DEP.
    1) Click Start > Run, > type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
    2) On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
    3) On the Data Execution Prevention tab, click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select > then click Add to add the CRW32.exe (You need to browse to the executable file)

Hi, did you get this working? I'm really struggling to get up and running on 2008 R2, the CMS service just refuses to connect to the database. It also looks like the database wasn't created properly during the install. I set it up on an MSDE database, and when I look at it with sql management studio the database is there but there aren't any tables or anything else
Can anyone either confirm or deny that its possible to run Crystal XI on 2008 R2?
The error I'm getting when trying to start the service is:
The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: Unable to connect to the database using the provided connection string. Reason: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified).
I've confirmed that the ODBC connections work (both 32 bit and 64 bit) via the built in test, but Crystal for some reason isn't happy

  • Crystal Reports 8 stopps working when printing

I recently upgraded to CR 8 along with several other co-workers. I am able to launch the app and create reports just fine, but when I attempt to go to anything that has to do with printers, the app errors out.
When I attempt to print directly from the app, I get a message saying that Crystal Reports has stopped working and it asks if I want to close or debug.
When I attempt to go to the Page Setup, I get an error message saying "Out of Memory"
Other team members do not have these issues.
I have tried re-installing the app, but am still getting the same problems.
I am able to export the report and print from there, but not directly from CR 8.
I attempted to instal Service Pack 3 and got an error message saying that I did not have a recent enough version of the app.

    Hi Dave,
First off, please minimize any version confusion.  You keep referring to Crystal 8 which is over 10 years old but you told Don you are using Crystal 2008.  That would definintely cause problems.
If you are upgrading from XI r2 and you are getting that upgrade message, that leads me to believe Crystal XI wasn't properly upgraded on your machine.  I think the 2008 sp3 upgrade is still seeing XI r2.  This may also be the reason 2008 is crashing when you try printing.
When you open Crystal 2008, go to Help | About Crystal Reports.  I'm interested in knowing the version number.
When you uninstalled Crystal, what version is listed in the Add/Remove Software?  What version did you uninstall?
Did you get any error messages when you uninstalled?
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Error - Crystal Reports has stopped working

I have downloaded the CR 2011 trial, and I am trying to open a Crystal 7 report.  The strange thing is that it was opening OK before, but has now stopped opening.   Some of the Crystal 7 reports I have are able to be opened, and others are not.
The error is not helpful - Crystal Reports has stopped working.  Windows is checking for a solution to the problem.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled the CR 2011 trial, but this has not helped.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Thomas,
Can you create a brand new reports against those Stored Procedures?
Are the .rpt files from CR 7 still have the old "last modified" date?
What if you try a middle CR version, like install temporary CR XIR2, open and save the reports and then try to open in the latest version?
Do you know if failing reports have any external links like Linked pictures, OLE objects, etc.?
Have you ever used Process Monitor utility? It may be helpful to identify what CR is trying to do.
    Vitaly.

  • Which is the lowest version of Crystal reports that shall work on BW 7.3?

    Hi,
Can you tell me which is the lowest version of crystal reports that will work with BW 7.3?
If given any reference document also it will be useful.
    Regards,
    Vignesh

Just adding to Vitaly's point that when you load CR 2008 Sp4, you also need to upgrade SAP IK to the same patch level i.e. SP4
You also have to load the respective transports for the service pack that you are loading.

  • Crystal Reports 2011 not working in windows 2008 server CITRIX

    Hi All,
We are using  Crystal reports 2011 in windows 2008 server which is CITRIX farm., having crystal reports 2011 runtime in it..
We are using .net applicationton to run the reports.
The crystal reports parameter popup is getting opened. But the calendar icon is not fuctioning ..clicking on the calendar control no pop up appears. no error too..
OK button is not responding. Cancel button too.
Can you please help us why we are facing this issue in CITRIX only. When we are using the same version in desktop, Crystal report is working fine.
Please feel free to ask if required any more details about my problem.
    Regards,
    Venkat.K

Ido's idea is excellent, only addition I'd like to make is the following:
You are trying to run a .NET app. However, CR 2011 does not install any SDKs. So, the directory specified by Ido is not correct. Assuming that by CR 2011 you actually mean "SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET", then the directory would be:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\Crystal Reports 2011\crystalreportviewers\prompting
If that does not help, use Process Monitor and see what the logs tell you (look for Access Denied messages).

  • Crystal Report Export not working in Server 2008

    Hi
    Please Help..
I am Using Crystal report Report 9 with VB 6 and SQL Server 2008. All my Client PC s (Windows XP SP3) are able to export the reports in any format but with my SERVER - (Windows Server 2008 (32 Bit)) it isn't possible. The Button is very much enabled
but when I click on it, Nothing happens.. Please Help...

    Hi,
I would like to suggest you try to run SAP Crystal Reports under Compatibility Mode to check if it works.
Run in compatibility mode with administrative privilege
    ================================
    1. Right-click the .exe file of the SAP Crystal Reports program and choose
    Properties.
    2. Switch to the
    Compatibility tab.
    3. Please check the
Run this program in compatibility mode for and choose
    Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
    4. Check the
Run this program as an administrator box under the
    Privilege Level.
    5. Click
    Apply, click OK.
Note: If the option is unavailable when running this program as an administrator, it means that either the application is blocked from always
running elevated, the application does not require administrative credentials to run, or you are not logged into the computer as an administrator.
If it does not work, it is high recommended to contact your local SAP Support Engineers for further assistance. They are more familiar with their own
    product.
    Regards,
Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Crystal Reports has stopped working with Windows 7 and demo database

I'm trying to get back up to speed on Crystal Reports after 10 years away. I'm running Crystal Reports 2008 Standard with the just-released Service Pack 3 (same symptom with SP2).
So I downloaded the demo database and tried creating a new report. No problems creating a simple customer list. When I add the Orders table and link the CustomerID columns and then add the OrderDate column to the report, everything works fine. But as soon as I add the OrderID or OrderDate column, the application crashes.
Culprit seems to be MSVCR80.dll. Here's the log:
Faulting application name: crw32.exe, version: 12.3.0.601, time stamp: 0x4bd05d31

    Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
It may be that something was "fixed" and our default xml file falls out of the Standards now.
Are you wanting to connect to SQL or XML?
Go to Microsoft's site and search for C++ distribution and download and install the recommended one for windows 7. It may be that part is corrupt or our installer thinks it is there. Try doing a Repair install and custom options to select all of the DB drivers and exports types to see if that resolves the issue.
    Thank you

  • Crystal Reports SAPToolbar should work with BEx 7.x without needing BEx3.5

    Hello,
first I would like to begin with the used versions in our landscape:
    Clients:
    - Windows 7
    - Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 FP3.3
    - SAP 7.20 Patchlevel 9
    - Bex 7.x SP5
    Servers:
    - BOE XI 3.1 SP FP 3.3
    - BW 7.01 SP5
Our problem is that the SAPToolbar in Crystal Reports requires Bex 3.5 and doesn't accept Bex 7.x. The start aborts with the following message:
COM exception caught in CExtToolBar::GetRemoteFileCookie(). HR = 0x80004005
COM exception caught in CExtToolBar::InitOpenSaveDialog(). HR = 0x80004005
You are connecting to BW server version < 702, please install BEx3.5 to use SAP Toolbar functionality.
Since the installation of SAPGUI 7.20, due to the fact that SAPGUI 7.10 is out of maintenance, BEx 3.5 is delivered as separately installable package and therefore not installed with SAPGUI 7.20. Further please note that full PAM support of BEx 3.5 cannot be granted by SAP - as Microsoft has removed, e.g., support for some components within Windows 7 that had been used by BEx Web Application Designer 3.5.
For further details please check the notes: 1322923, 1410878, 1424366 and 1391689.
Is there a solution for SAP Toolbar not supporting Bex 7.x? I know that the note 1196843 referencing to this issue and the support of SAP says more or less, that this is known and tracked but can't say when it will be solved. For me it's hard to understand, that BEx 7.x isn't supported.
Do other have the same problems? If yes please vote for the IDEA: https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/8186
    Best Regards,
    Michael Raab

    Hi,
If i'm not mistaken, the 3.5 add-ins are still part of the SAP GUI 720 installer, but they need to be selected (ticked) to be installed.
Unfortunately, Crystal 2008 is considered a legacy tool, and as such, it still uses the old integration points. That add-in is also required for the Dashboard Design (xcelsius) SAP toolbar.

    H
