Cs3 serial number not accepted when installing cs6 as upgrade

I downloaded photoshop cs6 after paying for it as an upgrade from photoshop cs3. During the installation it asked me for the serial number for cs4 or cs5 but not cs3. It would not accept the serial number of my cs3. A look at other forums suggests the only way round this is to hack in as if I was doing an illegal download. When I installed on this computer, the help Desk took over my computer and had a lot of trouble overriding the problem. I now have a new computer and am having the same problem in trasferring cs6 to the new computer. Unfortunately I have deactivated cs6 on this computer and at present cannot use it at all.

You need to install the version that the serial number is assigned to. There shouldn't be any reason for the disc to fail, but you can try downloading version 10 and see if that works...

Serial number not recognized when installing.

I bought Acrobat Standard XI off the Adobe website. When installing the serial number is not recognized. The drop down box for selecting which product I bought has a selection for Standard X but not Standard XI.

Serial Number not accepted CS4

I have a Macbook Air and tried to install CS4 Design Standard, but the downloaded installer does not accept my serial number (marked as invalid). I purchased the CS4 Design Standard (Education) in 2009. What can I do to install the CS 4 on my Mac that has no disc drive? Why is my serial number not accepted?

J’ai acheté LR 4 il y a 1 an avec le n° de série sur la boite. J’ai acheté l’upgrade pour LR 5 et je n’ai jamais pu installer la version définitive avec ce n° de série.Ce n° de série n'est pas valide. La durée version d’essai est terminée et donc je dois retourner à LR 4 pour continuer à travailler ? Pourquoi cela ne fonctionne pas?

J'ai bien compris votre réponse qu'il fallait utiliser un nouveau n° de série. J'ai bien téléchargé LR5 le 18 mars 2014, j'ai bien reçu une facture
n° IEE2014000174985 mais je n'ai pas de trace d'un nouveau n° de série. Il n'est pas sur la facture, ni dans le logiciel?

CS3 Postscript fonts not visible when Installed with Suitcase 11.0 on Vista Ultimate 64bit.
Truetype and Opentype work fine. I have searched through all the forums here multiple times, but not found a solution. The only workaround I found was to manually put the font files in c:/ProgramFiles(x86)/CommonFiles/Adobe/Fonts.
When I put any font files in that folder, they show up in CS3 for use, but not in windows apps. I thought I would make a permanent work around by placing all of my uninstalled font files in that folder, then use suitcase to install them from there. That didn't work because EVERY font in that folder is available to CS3 and turned on. Do they get installed when you put them in there?? It didn't seem like they were installed, and windows apps didn't see them.
These are workarounds anyway. My main goal is to have suitcase work so I can organize my fonts efficiently. Extensis blames the font and CS3. I have read that there are adobe issues with other font management software as well as suitcase. Any help would be appreciated.

Got mine FIXED here is what i did:
Windows 7 64bit SP1, CS 5
Postscript fonts (comprising of *.pfb + *.pfm files) did not show up in any CS5 app, but showed OK in Word, Excel, Notepad etc.
Tried activating through Suitcase Fusion 2 and also through FontExpert 2009 - but neither of them made the fonts visible in CS5 apps
1) open Start Menu/Control Panel/Fonts
2) on the sidebar there is "Font settings" item
3) set the settings as i did
[ ] Hide fonts based on language settings
[ x ] Allow fonts to be installed using a shortcut (advanced)
FIXED mine,
now i can use Suitcase Fusion 2 to install any PFB/PFM fonts without any problems...

CS2 Premium serial number not accepted at use on Win 7 system

I have at several years old version of the Creative Suite 2 Premium. It has been licensed on a Win XP system previously, but now I try to install it on my new Win 7 computer.
But the "Personalize your software" - window will not accept the serial number that I can read on the product casette from the label named "SERIAL NUMBER CREATIVE SUITE PREM".
Am pretty sure that it is entered correctly, and in fact the same serial number is accepted during installatin.
Please advise....

Serial Number Not Valid 2nd Install CS5.5

I'm trying to download CS5.5 Design Standard Student and Teacher on my Windows 8.1 machine and receive a "Serial Number Not Valid" notification. I have already downloaded the product on my Macbook Pro a few years ago, but was under the impression I was allowed to download it on 2 computers. Anything I can do???

the serial number for a mac installation is not the same as for a windows installation. and, in fact, cs5.5 is not a dual platform product so you cannot install it on a windows machine unless you have a windows license/serial number.
you could upgrade to creative cloud. the subscription apps (cs6, cc and cc 2014) are all dual platform.

loaded a test version of lightroom on MAC. Tried to add the serial number but number was not accepted.
Installed Lightroom on Windows PC and entered the serial number and this works fine.
Why can I not add the same number on my MACbook?

Christian the version available through the Creative Cloud Desktop application is designed for subscription customers. Please run the uninstaller for Photoshop Lightroom located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.
Once you have installed the subscription version you can download the full version from Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh. Each update contains the full installation files so please download the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1.
If you do not have a Creative Cloud or Individual membership then I would recommend removing the Creative Cloud Desktop application. It is designed as an installation mechanism for individuals who have an active membership.

My FCS3 serial number wont work when installing prokit update. WHY?

I have FCS3 installed on my computer and when I downloaded and installed the prokit update I launched final cut pro, it ask for the serial number. When I entered it it said it was invalid. I have my retail serial number so why doesnt this work. now I cant launch any of my FCS3 apps.

Updates do not require serial numbers. If you are trying to upgrade from, say, Final Cut v6 to Final Cut v7, yes, that will require your previous serial.
Pretend we are not able to see what you're doing. Explain it to us carefully.

CS4 Design Premium serial number not accepted?

We are trying to move an installation of CS4 Design Premium between computers in our organisation.
It has been successfully unregistered and uninstalled from the original old computer, but we are unable to successfully install it to the new computer.
If we select the English (International) language upon install, the installation fails, citing missing components in the application directory.
If we select English (US) upon install, the installation succeeds but we are unable to enter the provided serial number of the boxed install media - even though it is definitely the correct serial number.
Has anyone else ever seen this odd behaviour and found a way past it?
