CS4 Standard Student - Can't install on a new Mac
Hi,
after purchasing a new iMac (10.9.2, fusion drive) and setting it up I'd like to install my CS4. Before I uninstalled it from my old iMac (10.9.2) and used the Cleaning-Up tool as described. First it was possible to install CS4 at the new iMac, however the updater did not work - it permanently tried to install a new updater-version and suddenly at a certain point the updater wanted to install found updates but without any success, it was not possible to 'depose' the update at the (usual) library path ... Ok once more I uninstalled CS4 and used the Cleaning-up tool - afterwards I was not able to install CS4 again - Error: I don't have the permission. I still have CS4 working on a second device, on my MacBook Air.
Thanks for any suggestion of how I can install CS4 again on my new iMac.

CS3 to CS5 upgrade - can't install CS3 on new mac first
I originally purchased CS3 years ago, then upgraded to CS5. Today, I purchased a new Mac OS X 10.10 and it says I need to first install the CS3 and then go through the upgrade again. Problem is that it will not install CS3 because it is not supported on the new operating system. So what to do?
There is no need to re-install CS3.
All installers (full and upgrades) contain the full program code. The serial number tells the installer if it's a full version or an upgrade.
Just install CS5, enter the CS5 upgrade serial number then the CS3 serial number when prompted. -
Can I install leopard on new mac pro intel machine
This machine came with Snow leopard on it but it is conflicting with a USB 3.0 card I have been trying to install.
I THINK it is conflicting because I have a similar card on a 2009 Mac Pro intel,
running Leopard and I have not had one issue since installing IT, many months ago.
So I thought I would put in a new HD (larger 2TB) and start a fresh install and go down to the Leopard so the USB 3.0 PCI card will work!
When I do the reboot to instal from the disc, it just sits on a grey screen for 15 min before I gave up.
I replaced the Leopard disc with a Snow Leopard disc and the boot from disc went as normal.
So..........Like I said, issues.

I bought Adobe creative suite 6 ( Student Edition ) for Windows? Can I install the programs on Mac as well?
Licenses are platform specific, so the Windows version will only work on the Mac if the Mac has Windows emulation software installed. The other option would be to trade your Windows version for a Mac version, but then you lose the use of it on the Windows machine.

you may be lucky, but you should expect problems if you do that.
you should properly install your adobe software using the adobe installation files.

Have a student / teacher subscription. Trying to download and install applications on new mac pro with yosemite. Old applications still work on older Mac Pro. Can't download any applications. Creative Cloud website and desktop app both fail. Very frustrating. Anyone having this problem?
Chas50 I would recommend removing the currently installed Adobe Creative software. You can then install the new versions of the Adobe Creative software included with your membership. Question: The desktop on which I had Lightroom and PhotoshopCC installed failed and I no longer have access to it. How do I deactivate the software on those machines so that I can reinstall it on my new Mac?
Absolutely - but I had no idea there were two versions. When I got my new laptop I just went to the Adobe site to download and install LR5. It never asked if I had a license; it just directed me to install CC to start a trial which I thought I could license after downloading. Several sessions and many hours of looking through the forums and Google for an answer I never ran across anything that made this distinction. I still haven't found a path from www.adobe.com that would get me to the standalone download page (it's probably there, wasn't obvious to me) and looking at the download page it doesn't make any CC/standalone distinction.
There are many places I could have gotten a hint - for instance the license could be tagged "stand alone edition", the CC-version could recognize the stand-alone key and either accept it or produce a more meaningful error message, or the download site or the CC app could ask if I had previously purchased a key, etc.
It was my error to assume this was a deactivation problem, but it looked the same as a previous deactivation problem with Photoshop.

Because when i get to the part in Boot Camp Assistant that says Start Windows Installation it says u need a disc... is there no other way??Get the physical copy (disk) this will enable you to reinstall when (not if ) it messes up.

On which operating system are you trying to install these Adobe apps?
Please specify the operating system name and version.
If you have purchased new Macbook Pro, then you should have atleast Mac OSX 10.9 or later. However, i doubt you will be able to install most of these apps on it as they are pretty old apps except CS5 & Lr4.
Still you can give it a shot and check.
What happens when you try to install them?
Do you get any error message? An error screenshot or full text of the error, should be helpful.

Thanksthat card does not have:
• EFI firmware to show a picture under Mac OS X
• at most two 6-pin aux power cables (the card has one 6 and one 8-pin, and requires BOTH which the Mac Pro cannot accomodate)
Without substantial modification it will not work under Mac OS X. -
I threw up the box before installing photoshop elements 13 and now i can not installed my brand new photoshop because i do not have a serial number
When you buy software, the serial number is really what you're buying, since the software is typically downloadable. So don't throw it away in the future.
If you registered the software before you threw away your serial number, then Adobe may have a record of your purchase.

I can't install Flash player on mac os 10.8.4 (Safari). The adobe help tells me I've installed version 11.8.800.94 - but the player is nowhere to be found...

If it won't download directly, right click and "Save as"
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)
Empty the trash
Reboot
Mount the DMG and run the installer.
BEFORE opening any Flash content in Safari, open Safari>Preferences, and check the Security tab to make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked.
