CS4 update to 4.2 - problems remain

I am very disappointed that the latest update does not fix the Multicam windows colour error when running Premiere with Matrox RT.X2. The boarders on the multicam boxes remain green, whether playing or recording, rather than turning red when recording. And when re-mixing the boarders incorrectly follow the previous edit, rather than the new edit, even though the new edit is correctly recorded on the timeline. This issue only seems to happen when running with RT.X2, so does it indicate that Adobe and Matrox are not working together? There must be a lot of users of the RT.X2 system. The problem occurs on my 3 different video computers, which all run Windows XP and RT.X2.
Any sign of an update or help would be much appreciated.

Harm is generally spot on here and one thing you might try is to test Premiere Pro multicam with a native Adobe project, though I'm not sure that the Matrox system doesn't insert itself even then (I don't have an RT.X2 to play with). Others here might be able to tell you what folder to drag out to definitively remove the Matrox hardware temporarily to test.
To address your question about Matrox as a partner. Indeed they are a partner and a very good one at that. The pro's of Adobe's open SDK and emphasis on partnership is that our users have more choice about what kind of workflows and hardware they want to embrace. I think this is a huge advantage - Choice is always good in the area of video editing. The cons of this approach are that hardware and software occasionally have conflicts - sometimes the needs of Adobe and our partners can not be 100% aligned. CS4 is a great example. We made some choices that were important for our customers but it had an adverse affect temporarily on our hardware partners. We're always working to make sure our partners are in lock step with us and 4.2 is a step towards that, though I don't know if the problem you outline is a Matrox one or an Adobe one. Trying to do a multicam without the RT.X2 will be a great first step. Let me know.

PS CS4 after the patch...problems remain....

Some Months ago, Photoshop CS4 was useless for me due to many problems that occured on my system (and as far as i can see, many other user's systems).
Meanwhile i installed the Patch to Version 11.0.1 and updated to new NVIDIA-driver Version 182.03.
I gave PS CS4 another try and realized, that some of the problems are gone. The OpenGL Features stay activated, rotating and smooth zooming are available and work fast and stable, graphic glitches and wrong menu-drawing are gone. That is most of the time...
Some problems remain:
- My long trusted wacom driver Version 493-3 (the only driver i had no problems with) does not grant me pressure-sensitivity in Photoshop CS4. It works well with CS3, but in CS4 theres no pressure at all. So switched to ne newest driver version. But even the newest Wacom-Driver does not work properly. If I close photoshop and reopen it, some pressure sensitivity of the brushes is gone. Sometimes ALL pressure sensitive functions are gone. Sometimes it helps reloading my brushes, sometimes this has no effect at all. Driver Version is 610-6 in combination with an Intuos3 Tablet.
- I have many cases where Photoshop just disappeared. It closed without warning or error-message.
- the OpenGL Features STILL deactivate out of nowhere. This happens mostly with layer-intensive documents and in combination with taskswitches. I only realise this when zooming becomes jumpy and the smoothness is suddenly gone. Then the rotate feature is greyed out. Strange thing is, all openGL features are still marked as active in the preferences. There's no warning or error message, the features simply vanished for this particular document. (It stays active for other open documents at the same time)
I am completely helpless here. For me it is AGAIN back to CS3. Working with Photoshop CS4 is really not possible with the above mentioned things happening all the time.
I use the most recent drivers available. My system is still fresh and nothing of this ever happened with Photoshop CS3.

I also still have many OpenGL problems (Geforce 8600GT/512MB latest driver, Intel Q6600, Vista 32 Ultimate, PS CS 11.01)
- OGL sometimes just stops working without any message (like Pickman said)
- 66,66% view eats up about 60% CPU usage (just for viewing the picture, nothing else)
- GPU accelerated HDR view produces strong shadow banding
- when drawing a path, the hand tool via spacebar is sometimes not available and sometimes it is, but flick-panning is not working
- when in 66,66% view sometimes tiles of the image only show a flickering checkerboard (again, I`m not moving the image)
-UV-scaling of textures does not work with raytracing (I can definately reproduce this again and again)
- zoom tool is sometimes not working as it should and only resetting preferences helps (imagine a huge skyscraper (great hight, small width). YOu set your zooming rectangle exactely around the edges of the skyscaper and PS of course should zoom in so that the whole building can be seen. But instead it zooms in that the width of the building fills the entire screen. Resetting prferences helps.....for some days. Then it starts again)
- When making changes to a 3D model it happens from time to time that if you go back one step in the history panel the whole 3D model dissapears! Go forward one step again and it reappears.
And then this strange behaviour:
-Create a new document
-create a new layer
-go to "3D-new form from layer" (winebottle for example)
-zoom to 50%
-go to the 3D panel and change surrounding light or diffuse light -while having the color picker of one of those dialogs open (in order to change light color) change zoom view to 66%.
Then the whole 3D model disappears! Zoom to 50% and it`s back again!
I can reproduce this every time!
I really love those GPU features and they were one of the reasons for me to upgrade, but there are still bugs all over the place. I worked very much with 3D in the last couple of days and there really are annoying bugs every couple of minutes.
All in all, PS CS4 11.01 is MUCH better than 11.0, but still very buggy.

Problem installing CS4 update

I've been emailing back and forth with Adobe support but no solution to this yet.
I don't think the person I'm speaking with quite understands my problem (!)
After not being able to install the CS4 updates, I uninstalled all my adobe programs, and searched thru registry to remove any adobe refererences
I can install the CS4 programs (I have the Production Premiere package), but my monitor card says I need to update to the latest version of CS4 premierePro 4.0.1 (If I'm not mistaken)
I downloaded the update zip file on my "internet computer", transfered it to my "editing computer" via a memory stick. When I open the zip file, I see a setup.exe file, which I would think should get things going. But it freezes (this program has stopped responding).
anyone else have this problem??? am I going about the installation wrong? do I need some kind of Updater Program (which I've read on here may also be causing some problems)
any help is appreciated.
I'm using a Dell winXP SP3 with plenty of Ram, speed and hard dirve space.

That was it! when I first transfered the zip files, a folder with the same name as the zip file was created - full of files, and I assumed everything had been extracted correctly.

HT4561 10.6.8 printing results in paused printers. Have applied 10.6.8 supplemental update but problems remain. Are there other known fixes?

After applying 10.6.8 Supplemental Update a network printer status turns to paused after a printing attempt. Have deleted and reinstalled printers after the 10.6.8 update but problem reoccurs. I have also installed the Repair10.6.8.dmg package but that suggested fix did not work either. Any other suggestions?

Let me first correct myself. My aunt had bought the MBP from apple store USA for me 1 year ago, but she could have only delivered it to me 2 months ago. Its' a brand new computer. I run OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.7 and keeps warning me to update to 10.6.8. As I said, by the time I have received my computer, I tried to learnd and update it but created problems. So I had to go back to the original version which is 10.6.7. Now, for Mountain Lion I am expected of updating to 10.6.8. I am scared the problem would repeat again.
What can I do? Did Apple release any patch/update to fix the problem?

New memory leak with CS4 update?

I just downloaded the CS4 update last night, and was doing my normal photoshop work when I had to re-start the application due to what looks like a memory leak.
Windows XP, 3GHZ dual core ( 45 nm one ), 4 GB RAM, NVidia 9600 GT, no GPU enabled ( still comes up with that error even with newest drivers ).
128MB TIFF file was my source.
I had 3 layers, then copy merged all to another layer so I could liquify.
Liquify was getting REALLY sluggish when trying to zoom, but was usable.
After 10 minutes here, I clicked "ok" to return the results, then it said there wasn't enough memory to do it. So I had to cancel. Process was using right around 2 GB. I saved my PSD file ( around 256 MB ) and closed it. CS4 was still using around 2 GB with no documents open. So I closed CS4 and I had multiple errors pop up saying couldn't export or copy from clipboard because not enough memory.
Brought CS4 back up and loaded in that 256MB psd file, everything was fine.

I've been told by support that I need to un-install CS4, and re-install it and the patch in order to rectify my problem. The cause of the problem they are saying is a failed application of the patch.
Is this a bunch of BS to keep me busy for a while? How do I know that the next time everything will install correctly?
This will take some time to do, and I'll have to figure out how to backup all my settings/scripts.

We are using CS4 on Windows & having download problems

We were told to download Photoshop CS2 9.0.2 update to fix a problem we are having with correcting images in Acrobat Pro by going directly to Photoshop. Our problem is that the download gets as far as the installation wizard & then we get this message: "A qualifying version of Adobe Photoshop CS2 was not detected. The installation will be canceled.” and the installation is canceled. We are running CS4 on Windows XP & Vista.
Can anyone help us?

We received the advice from Kevin Slimp after viewing a webinar he had on through telspanexpress & the Hoosier State Press Association.
Here's our problem:
We used to be able to right click on an image in a PDF file that had been sent to us & make adjustments directly in Photoshop to just that image.
Often times we would have to make changes in the file by going to Advanced, Print Productions, Convert Colors & change the settings before we could open it in Photoshop. Since we got CS4 we continue to get this message, but have been unable to make any changes that solve the problem and allow us to go to Photoshop. Kevin suggested that we try installing this update to be able to make the changes we need to fix our PDFs & make them printable using our old process of lay-up to film to aluminum sheet to press. Our problem is that people send us magazine-quality ads & the dot gain makes the images nearly black. If we take the PDF into Photoshop to make the adjustment & there is text over the image, then the text edges are no longer smooth.
What would you suggest for rectifying the problem?

Photoshop CS4 update in development
In the time since Photoshop CS4 shipped, we've heard from some customers about various things not working as designed. In particular, various Windows XP configurations can exhibit slowdowns. A number of problems can be traced back to problems with video card drivers, but there are changes that Photoshop needs to make to improve the situation, and we're working on an update that'll be released soon.

2.0.1 update does not resolve problems with contacts

I was glad to see there was an update for the iphone 2.0 firmware.
I was pretty tired to wait for 10 sec for my accounts to open.
Unfortenately, problems remain after update, and opening and searching for contacts is embarresing slow

I found out, that if you reboot the phone and don't use any third party applications it stays fast. It only get's slow if you use installed applications, of course that's not what I bought the iPhone for, but I still have hope for the next update. But they shouldn't have to let us wait tooo long...
The source of the problem might be, that while hitting the home button the application is only freezed and so still in memory. After collecting some programs the OS has to swap to make room for the new one.

Flash CS4 update failing.... why?

I have fully operational and registered versions of many of the CS4 programs, but lately any attempts to update them are failing, using either Adobe Updater, or by downloading the update itself. For example, today I wanted to update Flash CS4 10.0.0 to 10.02, and just after the download is completed and set-up begins, the operation immediately fails, and generates a lengthy errors report. My computer is well tuned, I have 4 GB of RAM, a quad processor etc. and all the originally installed CS4 applications are working as they should...I just can't update them. I have no problems with any of the other software on the computer. Even the update for Adobe Media Encoder fails in exactly the same way. Acrobat Reader is the only update that has been successful. My o/s is XP/SP3. Is this an Adobe problem? Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas as to why a simple update is failing or what I can do to 'fix' the problem and complete the Flash CS4 update? ......................frank

The problem has been solved. The culprit was Adobe Acrobat speed loader (Acrobat_sl) running at Start-up. When this was disabled via msconfig> Startup tab etc., all Adobe updates were run successfully. When it was NOT disabled, all updates would immediately fail after setup.exe was initiated.

When you get the SF Compatibility plug in message something in the installed iWork part is corrupt. You ned to uninstall and install iWork again
You cannot completely delete iWork by moving the iWork '09 folder to the Trash. Instead, use Yvan Koenig's script:
          •          Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
          •          Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
          •          Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button
Restart the computer and install from the iWork disc. Do the Software updates too.

After all you've tried, Dah*veed is probably right about needing warranty assistance.
But first check to be sure Settings-Airplane Mode is set to OFF, and Settings-WiFi-WiFi is set to ON.
Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect to your WiFi.

I am having the same problem. I even changed my password and updated all of my security information. Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work. Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00. So I chose the option to call later, which was the exact time suck I was trying to avoid. Why wouldn't the new operating system also update the apps that were already part of my old platform?

I have been experiencing the same problem. My mail app won't even open on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro. It will show as open, but the app will never actually show up.
