CS5 Apparent conflict with DPP 3.8

I have thousands of files processed with CS3 which open fine in DPP, including the 3.8 version which came with my 7D camera in December 2011.
However, I also installed the CS5 upgrade last month and all images processed using that will not open in DPP 3.8 without a great deal of
difficulty, but, there is no problem with the earlier version(DPP3.1). The images hang after the first one or two and the computer(s) hang when trying to
load the rest (computer not responding etc).
As you will gather, the problem is not confined to one computer, thus ruling out a problem with the hardware.
Strangely, all files processed by CS3 and CS5 open without problem in DPP 3.1. but it is only those processed through CS5 that produce the problem
in later versions.
I also updated to DPP 3.11 and have the same problem with that.
It looks like there's a problem with CS5.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Or could it be cannon?  Here is link for is DPP 3.8 Flawed?

  • Flash CS5 location conflict with dreamweaver

upon instaling flash CS5 is not allowing me to save changes i made on dreamweaver.  there is this msg saying it will stop my dreamweaver communicating from a remote location and when i click on settings, it does nothing.  it stop me from updating my website. did some reasearch, many place suggest to go on to the adobe  website storage settings panel.  not sure how to use it but it seems like i have to entrust every single page of my website to the list as a trusted site in order for it to work.  and i test it on one page and it didnt seems do anything.

My two A's '(Apple and Flash CS5) stopped  struggling. It had nothing to do with Indesign... it was  just a problem of permissions. Why it happened I do not know. The only constatation I  dare to make is... Guys from Adobe... you put the right diagnosis... thank you, thank you  very much....
    Permissions that's all!!

  • Unable to open Aperture 2 because it is apparently in conflict with an old trial version 3. Any tips how to solve this?

I am unable to open my Aperture2.
The following warning message shows on top of the ususl opening window:
    Quote
The libraryin "users/pedro/pictures/Aperture 3 Trial Library2.aplibrary" cannot be loaded because it is from newer version of Aperture.
    Unquote
It looks like some kind of conflict with an old trial version 3, to which I never upgraded.
Any tips to help me solving the issue?

Do you need to run Aperture 2, or do you need to open the "Aperture 3 Trial Library2.aplibrary"?
If you only want to run Aperture 2, then launch Aperture by double-clicking your regular Aperture 2 library; this should open Aperture on the correct library. In Aperture 3 you also simply could hold down the options-key while double-clicking the Aperture Applications icon in the Dock - probably this works in Aperture 2 as well,
But if you need to open your Aperture 3 trial library with Aperture 2, because you converted your Aperture 2 library to Aperture 3 format; there is no easy way to do it. The best would be to find a backup of your library from the time before you converted it. If you do not have such a backup, then the easiest way would be to upgrade to Aperture 3 at this point.
I do not know enough about the Aperture 2 library format to be able to tell you how to manually downgrade an Aperture 3 library to Aperture 2 format.

  • Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome

Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome. Works in IE. This is my first time trying to post a question - so please be kind. I am also not good with code and am finding css a real challenge after learning to design based on tables. I'm using CS5.
The "test" page with the slide show is: http://www.reardanwa.com/index-slides.html   The same page without the slide show is http://www.reardanwa.com/
I realize the images are not ideally sized - I'll fix those once I get the pages to function.  Maybe I need a different slide show? I would prefer a widget that I can modify to required size & postition. Again - I'm not good at building with code from scratch.
The problem is the naviagation links that are directly next to the slide show do not work in Firefox of Chrome. They do work in IE.
I've read about using jQuery.noConflict(); code but can't figure out the correct way to use it in my case or whether that's even part of the solution. I know my code is not well organized as I have cobbled together from various sources in an attempt to format the page the way the client wants it. Also, FYI, I will eventually try to make the page work in Surreal CMS.
I've spent sevaral days over the last several weeks trying to solve sth slide show/navigation conflict - so any specific light you can shed will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • 'Sync conflicts' with Outlook after upgrading to iTunes 7.4

Since upgrading to iTunes 7.4 2 days ago I now receive a 'sync conflict' error with entries on Outlook calendar when syncing the iPhone. It allows me to view each conflict but I cannot see any differences between the entries that are apparently conflicting.
I can continue and all seems fine, but it happens every time I sync.
    Has anyone else seen this?
    Thanks
    Rixta

It is possible to get iTunes 7.4 working with Outlook 2002, in spite of Apple saying that they don't support it. I posted it as Solution to Syncing with Outlook XP (Outlook 2002.)
Just save the following file from your current installation of iTunes 7.3 (you can copy and paste it to your Windows desktop):
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Clients\com.apple.Outlook\Contents\Windows\
    com.apple.Outlook
Then be sure you have a current backup of your Outlook.pst file.
Upgrade to iTunes 7.4.3.1, and connect the iPhone. Open the Info tab in iTunes, and check the boxes and use the pull down menus to select Outlook for contacts, calendar and mail. You should then have no problem syncing to the iPhone.
Too bad about the loss of the music you purchased, I would suggest you call Apple and have them give you a credit, as they created the loss through their either accidental or intentional modification of iTunes (actually Apple Mobile Device Support.)

  • Conflicts with Windows XP

I have an apparent conflict between iTunes (ver. 6.0.1.3)and Windows XP. With iTunes installed my keyboard occasionally jumps to all caps. The caps light does not come on. Pressing the shift key will allow typing lower case letters but not lower case symbols and numbers. Furthermore, the computer pointer will no longer highlight single items but rather only blocks of text or multiple icons. A restart will return the computer to normal operations – until the next episode. I can find no other pattern of operation that causes this to occur. Anyone else experienced this problem?

In the past, newer versions of Reader caused Acrobat to not work at all. I need the Acrobat more than I need the Reader.

Have you add any further issues with Acrobat 9 and Reader XI....?

  • Does Compressor 3.5 Conflict With FCE 4 And LiveType?

Last week my Compressor 3.5 app suddenly refused to open.
I tried all the usual remedies including deleting it with FCS Remover but to no avail.
Eventually it was cured by deleting all the FCS 3 apps and reinstalling.
This morning Compressor once again refused to open with the original "There is a problem . . . " error message.
Now I realised I had done something an hour before.
I had just installed FCE 4 and LiveType that comes with it.
I believe I had also done the same before last week's problem.
It looks as though there is something about the installing of FCE 4 and/or LiveType that Compressor 3.5 does not like.
I used FCS 2 together with FCE 4/LT for a couple of years with no apparent conflict.
I have got everything going again by deleting all the FCS 3 apps and reinstalling . . . . not FCE 4 and LT of course!
I'm wondering whether it is caused by both of them or just one . . . . maybe LT.
Perhaps installing FCE 4 and LT before installing FCS 3 would work?
I could find out by experimenting but I think I've done enough reinstalling!

    Thanks Jon.
I felt it might be something to do with the older FCE/LT installing outdated shared assets.
A couple of hours ago I successfully installed LiveType without it affecting FCS 3.
I installed it on another Mac and then simply copied the application across. I figured that FCS 3 would probably have already installed any "hidden" files LT would need and I seem to have been proved correct.
I think it will probably work with FCE but I am not feeling quite brave enough today!

  • Conflicts with Lulu

With the original release of 'Pages', there is a known conflict with www.lulu.com ( a book publishing site). Apparently .pdf files created from within 'Pages' do not embed Fonts correctly and a 'work around' is published at http://www.anvilwerks.com/pages_workaround/
Does anyone know, whether the new updated version of Pages has corrected this problem?
    Regards... Chas

Magnus, I appreciate your support of Apple. I'm a raving fan myself. But this isn't my problem. Consult the web. There isn't a single professional commercial ripping software (the software that printers use to parse PDFs and prepare them for their printers) that can parse these PDFs. Not one. And this problem began with the introduction of OS X. The only reason that you may not have heard about this is that most high end graphic designers on Apple platforms use Adobe products, like Pagemaker or InDesign now. And--of course--Adobe products can create PDFs that can be read. So those people don't ever encounter this problem. Because of course Adobe PDFs are compliant with Adobe's standards. (Unfortunately you can't even use the "print to" option to use the Acrobat Distiller from the Pages print dialogue. Somehow Pages overrides the settings and forces the distiller to create multiple redundant subsets.)
Where the problem got magnified is with the advent of Pages. Here's why. People see Pages as a layout and design software "for the rest of us." And rightly so. This, I believe, is Apple's intent. So a lot of people have started using it in the past two years.
Some of those people switched from Microsoft Publisher--which, while not a professional layout program--is a ton easier to navigate than InDesign. Some of these people expect to be able to print with a commercial service. So when they go to try, they use the native OS X PDF creation tool, and then discover to their horror that not all PDFs are created equal.
Now professionals know this, but your average user does not. They're just told that PDFs are a universal format. Everyone can open it and read it. They send of the doc to be printed and it won't work. I tell ya, Magnus, this problem is out there on the web a thousand times and thousand times.
Subsetting is a useful tool. It reduced PDF file sizes. That was critical when we were all using dial-up connections. It's still helpful today on large documents. But all I'm asking for, all these people need, is a switch somewhere that allows it to be turned off. That's all. Nothing more. Just a switch that allows it to be turned off. You need three basic options: (1) Embed the entire font whole, should the permission bit allow it. (2) Subset the fonts to save space. or (3) Neither embed nor subset, forcing the document to use a Multiple Master font (Arial, Times NR, etc.)
I've decided that I will have to re-layout my booklets in InDesign. I know the file will be accepted just fine. That solution works for me, but it isn't a good one. Adobe CS2 costs nearly $700.00. I own it, but most desk-top publishers do not. The people that Apple is targetting with iWork generally do not. I can invest the several hours necessary for this task. But it's too bad that I have to.
After a lot of research I learned that Apple switched to forced subsetting after they had a problem in their PDF generator with embedded graphics. Somehow this change fixed that problem. But it created--in my opinion--an even larger one. If you can't get your PDF to print with a commercial printer, what's the point?
While I've already started on my InDesign revision, I'd still like to see or hear a solution to the problem. There are a lot of people who love Pages (and I hope it will continue to grow and evolve to the point where I never have to use a Microsoft product again...) and want to use it for all their layout needs. Right now this is a roadblock that will keep this from happening.

  • The colour swatch 'black' has a conflict with the current document?

I have created some graphic styles and saved them as the manual explains.
When using them in a new document I keep getting the conflict window asking if I wish to merge swatches.
What have I done to keep getting this unwanted conflict message?

Yeah, *real* annoying. This is something new. It didn't happen before in CS5, at least not to me and I always work with global colors.
    Example:
No matter what object, no matter what color (even without any color!), upon paste I get the merge dialog: The color swatch "K=30" has a conflict with the current document.
When I delete the swatch and then cut something (not having that color) I get: The color swatch "Deleted Global Color" has a conflict with the current document.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
    This is driving me nuts.

  • Conflict with Linksys Wireless C

I've recently installed a Linksys Wireless Networking WMP54G card in my desktop and apparently it is conflicting with my Audigy 2 Soundblaster card (i.e. each works fine by itself, but the system keeps re-booting if they are installed together and won't boot into Windows XP at all).
I'm using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and Linksys tech support has been no help at all, simply telling me it's an OS issue and there's nothing they can do. I already tried manually assigning IRQ numbers to each of the PCI slots in the BIOS, but that doesn't seem to have done anything, since when I view "System Information" in windows, the IRQ for both the Linksys card and the Audigy are changed to IRQ 7 (instead of 0 & , as I had manually assigned in the bios).
Does anyone know if there's a way to change the IRQ setting on the Soundblaster Audigy 2 card, so that it doesn't conflict with my Linksys card? Or, alternati'vely, is anyone familiar with any XP settings that I can change to get XP to assign a different IRQ to the Soundblaster card?
At least a link to any possible information would be very much appreciated. It's been three days now of trying to get these two cards to work together and I'm about to throw the whole thing out a second story window!
    Thanks!

check your bios if the option Plug&play os is enabled.
This because Linksys is right, windows handles the irq/dma sharing automatically.
And as you experience not always the right way.
Maybe you can move one of the two cards in another pci-slot(move them as far as possible away from each other(Linksys+Creative card).
i guess you can better contact M$...(if you've a legal windows).
Or try a Linux boot cd(li've cd linux that runs from cd like knoppix). Because if you've the same problem with a linux li've cd then it must be a hardware issue, if it works fine with Linux Li'veCd then it's a Windows issue like Linksys try to explain.
knoppix li've CD: (download image and burn it to cd-r, then start computer(boot) with this cd-r in it)

oh "and I'm about to throw the whole thing out a second story window!" advise: throw the soundcard away!

  • Perl-yaml-syck conflicts with slimserver

    Hi,
last time when I tried to run pacman -Syu I get this message.
    looking for inter-conflicts...
    :: perl-yaml-syck conflicts with slimserver. Remove slimserver? [Y/n] n
    error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
    :: perl-yaml-syck: conflicts with slimserver
    What to do?
    //Burra

    Report a bug.
Apparently, last slimserver package includes an older version of perl-yaml-syck, because it doesn't work with newer ones.
So slimserver conflicts with perl-yaml-syck, but maybe it should provide it as well ?

  • Re: Sun One conflicting with Apache

I have Sun One 4.0 ASP Server and Apache 2.0.43 and Tomcat 5.0.28 and I noticed that when I added the JK Mounts to Apache in order for Apache to become the dominant Web Server as opposed to Tomcat on the Unix side, that the Sun One statements caused conflict. Specifically:
    LoadModule casp2_module /var/Chilisoft/casp/module/sunos5_optimized/apache_2.0.x/20020903/standard/mod_casp2.so
    AND
    CaspLib /var/Chilisoft/casp/asp-server-3000
** When these lines were commented out, Apache worked fine and was able to bring back the Client page as well as data. Is there a port conflict with Apache or something else that I may be missing?
    thanks!
    Benjiwolf12

    I have fixed this problem.
Apparently, the order of where the 'Load Module' is placed in Apache is very important. I moved the Load Module down to the bottom of the httpd.conf file and now the conflict is resolved.
    cheers!
