Cs6 Monitor Issue Question

OK I just bought a new monitor and I love it however the graphics seem much darker viewing in web than in photoshop,
the monitor I got was LG IPS LED 27EA63 now my question is I have tried calibrating to no avail and I also looked on a tablet and its dark also does anyone have a profile I can use or can what is the best monitor profile right now i have it set to color match RGB but i want photoshop to be accurated

Web browsers are not all properly color-managed.  Photoshop is, but your monitor color profile (associated with the monitor at the operating system level) has to match the monitor's capability.   From what I have read, that monitor has an sRGB gamut.
You don't say what browser you're using.  "Viewing in web" isn't sufficient.  They're actually all different in the way they handle color-management.
If consistency between applications is your goal, here's one possible zero-additional-cost approach you may take...
1.  In your Windows Color Management dialog, ensure the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile, specifically, is associated with the monitor, and ensure "Windows Calibration" is disabled.  Add it and make it the default in the Devices tab to be sure.
2.  Set your on-monitor controls generally at center-scale, but you might want to turn the brightness down.  Usually for photo work a brightness lower than default is preferable.
3.  Go to a page like this one and use the controls for Gamma/Brightness/Contrast in your display driver to calibrate the output to get your gamma response close to the ideal value of 2.2:  http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/
At this point, a browser like Internet Explorer - which always ASSUMES your monitor is displaying the sRGB color space - won't be far wrong, and images will exactly match what you see in Photoshop.
Regarding what color space to choose as your preferred setting for editing, I'd suggest using the defaults (e.g., sRGB IEC61966-2.1 for your RGB working space) until such time as you learn why you might want to edit in a color space that has a larger gamut (i.e. for printing on systems that offer a wider gamut).  I do suggest checking all the "Warn if" boxes, so you know if you're opening an image that doesn't match your preferred setting.
The above approach will net you the greatest consistency between applications, some of which are partially or not color-managed.  In short your images will stand the greatest chance of looking the same in Photoshop as they do on your web browser.
There are other possible approaches, including using a calibration and profiling device to measure the differences between ideal, accurate color and what your system actually delivers.  I encourage you to read up on color-management.  It's not a simple subject, but it's necessary if you really do care about what colors are in your work.

Nope, you can install it on your new computer with no issues. The disc contains both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

  • Multiple Monitor Issue

Alright, so I have a 15" Macbook Pro with the dual graphics cards (GeForce 9600M GT and GeForce 9400M GT 256 version). It's the 2.66 intel processor one. Anyway, I've been trying to figure out this dual monitor issue that I've been having for a few days now. When I'm using the 9400M card and I plug into my mini displayport everything works just fine. This includes the VGA cord, the HDMI, as well as a standard Apple monitor. Now, when I switch over to the higher end graphics card, as soon as I plug into the mini displayport my screen goes black. And that's it. I can't do anything. I have to hold the power button down until the computer turns off.
I've been searching for days in order to find an answer to this question or if anyone has ever had a similar problem and no one could help me. I even went to the genius bar and no one could help either. Keep in mind I've tried this in a variety of ways. I've plugged the monitor in after the computer was running, I've had it plugged in while the computer was turning on, and each time after the initial boot up everything goes black.
To make matters worse, I originally came across this issue because I use Windows 7 on bootcamp and I wanted to use dual monitors within Windows. Bootcamp is only set to use the 9600M graphics card which is the one giving me all the heartache and apparently there's no way around it. If anyone has the slightest clue as to what's going on here or why it would be doing such a thing, let me know. Thanks.

Jon: Thanks for answering those questions. Run the Apple Hardware Test that you'll find on one of the DVDs that came with your MBP. If any errors are reported, go back to the Genius Bar with the error codes reported by AHT and ask to have the machine repaired.
If you have extended AppleCare protection, you have a TechTool Deluxe CD/DVD. You can also use that to test your hardware. If it reports any errors, take the exact wording and error codes from that report along with you to the GB, too.
The problem is not with your three external displays or your cables, adapters, or your MBP's mini-Displayport, because they all work fine with the 9400M. The problem isn't some wrong contact that's being made momentarily as you insert the mini-Displayport plug into the port, because it occurs even when the cable is securely connected before starting up the computer. It seems to me the problem must reside either in your 9600M GT or in its connection to the mini-displayport.

  • Trouble with color on Presario, No red tones on display. Not a monitor issue.

Am experiencing trouble with color on Presario, model no. CQ5500F. Purchased a couple of years ago, and trouble was present immediately. Am getting no red tones - red items appear black or sometimes blue. Was told by HP that it was a monitor issue, and let computer slide out of warranty. installed new monitor today and problem still exists. Is this merely a display adjustment of some kind? Or will I have to pay HP their $99 for a one time fix? Any suggestions appreciated.

    Hello UncleBob62,
It could be the display driver that is not properly working
    1. Click on the start icon
    2. Right click on computer and go to properties
    3. Select Device Manager
    4. Expand display adapters and right click on the video card driver and uninstall
The computer screen will go blank
On the keyboard press the windows key the right arrow key twice and then the letter R.
At this point your computer is going to reboot. After the reboot Windows will install generic drivers for your video card. Do you still see a lack of red tones?

  • Graphics card issue or monitor issue?

    Hello, i have a MacPro 2.66 w/ an ATI x1900 and a MacBookPro with th nVidia 8600
i recently purchased a 28" Hanns-g Display which i upgraded from my 20" apple cinema display, im curious if this could be a graphic issue or a monitor issue:
When i connect the 28" monitor to my ATI card (port 1) and boot into 10.4.10 (macPro) i noticed diagonal lines that seem to "scroll" (like an overscan line or something) on greyish and lighter backgrounds.
tried it with the second port, same thing, it does it on all resolutions
    (it runs @ 1920x1200).
when i boot into XP and try the same sites i did in 10.4.10 it doesnt do it at all, its as it should.
I tried both VGA>DVI and HDMI>DVI to the ATI on OSX but it only does it with the HDMI>DVI connection under OSX, VGA looks fine.
(btw my ati card is clean as a whistle, no dust or anything)
However if i plug it into my MacBookPRo with hdmi>DVI it doesnt do that at all.
so im wondering probably incompatible monitor or what?
im looking to getting a 30" Apple Display but not if its gonna act up like that on my macpro, none of this appeared on my ACD 20".
    any suggestions or tips?
    thanks!

im not experiencing scan line son my 30" ACD display under OSX or XP with my ATI, could be the monitor you are using, but if its not doing it with your MBP than.....idk
sonds strange, try another gfx card or another macpro if possible.

  • Playing off the Timeline via firewire( XdCam pal) Monitoring Issues

    Hey,
I have just switched to FCP and have found that when recording the from the FCP timeline manually via firewire into a Sony XDCam PDW530 I experience 4:3 flashes in the Camera monitor and viewfinder as the timeline plays down Video Transitions. All effects have been rendered (Blue line above transition)
However the Camera appears to record correctly to disc. I played the recorded material from the camera via an XD deck into a wide screen monitor and all appears fine the 4:3 flashes are not present on transitions. play the disc back in the camera and the 4:3 flashes for the duration of the Video Transitions return????
when playing out of the Camera via SDI and Analogue Composite outputs into a wide screen monitor all appears ok as well.
It's a little odd that you cannot monitor the output correctly on the XDcam. If i change the pull down settings from 2323 to 2332 it monitors the transitions correctly but the video aspect is somewhere between 4:3 and 16:9.
Shoot in 16:9 Capture DV Pal, Edit DV Pal, Playback Output Apple FireWire Pal (720 x 576)
    Any ideas????

    Thanks Shane,
We have been down the PRINT TO VIDEO road with the same playback issues in the XD Camera's LCD screen. We still see the 4:3 transition on the 16:9 image when playing off the timeline / playing back the recorded media in the camera and viewing on cameras screen .
I guess this is only a monitor issue. If you don't include any video effects it plays down 16:9 perfectly in the cameras monitor
What is recorded onto the disc is fine.
Also my understanding is the what's coming off the timeline is a DV stream so not sure how the GOP format comes into play. Recording onto a XD Cam off the timeline thru other edit programmes has never been an issue. I have come from Avid Pinnacle and the monitoring of transitions was never an issue when streaming back to the xdcam.
    Thanks

  • WiSM Design and Testing Issues / Questions / Queries etc......

Hi all. Heres hoping you can help........
I hope you can grasp the following description of the test network I have. I admit a diagram would have been better but it's hard to send a whiteboard over the web : )
I am currently in the process of designing and testing out a wireless solution and am having a few issues / queries. I have a 6509 with a Wireless Services Module (WiSM) installed in slot 3, one Cisco 1240 AP on a remote LAN and a DHCP server on a remote LAN (not the same as the AP)
I am using LAG on controller 1 with port channel 1 and native VLAN 20.
    VLAN 20 is 10.1.1.0 / 24
The management interface has IP address of 10.1.1.10
The AP-manager interface has IP address of 10.1.1.11
    VLAN 11 is 128.88.1.0 / 24
The service port has IP address of 128.88.1.10
The Cisco 1240 AP on the remote LAN is picking up a IP address via DHCP (from a remote DHCP server) OK and can route to both the aforementioned VLANs 20 and 11.
    Issue/Question 1
I can ping the management interface locally on the 6509 and also remotely from the AP so all looks OK there however I cannot ping the AP-manager locally or remotely.
Is this expected behaviour? I would expect that if I can ping one I should be able to ping the other or is the AP-manager interface not routed and only used in some way to create the LWAPP tunnel>
    Issue/Question 2
    As previously stated the AP is picking up and IP address but it is not being passed the Option 43 parameter from the DHCP server (not yet ruled out the DHCP server as the cause of this). Due to this I have amended the DNS entry of the management interface (10.1.1.10) to CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER as a last resort. With a console on the AP I can see that the AP tries to join by the "%LWAPP-5-CHANGED: LWAPP changed state to JOIN" output but then get;
LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG: spamHandleJoinTimer: Did not recieve the Join response
LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG: No more AP manager IP addresses remain.
Is this related to the fact that I cannot see the AP-Manager interface on the network?
    Issue/Question 3
I have chosen to hard code the IP address of the Service port rather than leave it to DHCP. I am more comfortable having static addresses for management. However, there is no option for a default gateway for the service port.... If I try to get round this by applying a static route via the CLI on the WiSM controller to point traffic out via 128.88.1.1 on VLAN 11 this seemingly overrides all routing on the controller and causes my management interface (10.1.1.10) to fall off the network. Is the routing table applied "en masse" to the Controller? If so this surely means that to use the Service Port you have to be on the local LAN segement?!?!
Thanks for reading my ramble and heres hoping you can shed some light on my "niggles" !

    Hi
I am having exactly the same problem.
Getting the same error message "No more AP manager IP addresses remain."
    I'm deploying 200 AP's that will connect to 2x WiSM (4 controllers) in 2 seperate C6k Chassis
    (Controller 1a & 1b = wism 1, 2a & 2b = wism 2)
I have had 1 out of the first 5 AP's physically connected, come online and register with Controller 2b (btw: this was not the master controller, it should not have registed with 2b). All others fail with the same error message as above.
I have all Management and AP-Manager interfaces in the same vlan/subnet as my AP's.
I place a console cable onto the failed APs and see the AP cycle though the motions of trying to find the controllers, download new software code from a random controller, then it reboots, gets DHCP assigned, then get the "No more AP manager ip addresses remain" and then issues a "Reload requested by LWAPP CLIENT.
Then the AP does the whole cycle all over again.
Not sure why the AP's don't register with the controllers when they are all in the same vlan.
I have a couple of extra questions.
    1. what address do you bind to the dns entry cisco-lwapp-controller.localdomain, is it the management address or AP-Manager address ?
I have bound it to the Management address for WiSM 1a.
Also I have 4x controllers (2x WiSMs, 2 controllers per WiSM). Do I just bind controller 1a's address or do I have to put 4x DNS entries into my DNS server for all my controllers?
    2. DHCP option 43, Do I place all 4x management ip addresses in the option or do I put in the AP-Manager Ip address?
I followed this guide but was still a little unsure http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp125304
    2. This final question is more around Dynamic Interfaces for my 4 controllers once I get the AP's resisted,
Do I have to set up a dynamic interface ip address on every controller?
    e.g.
    Ssid = data, VLAN=10, VLAN10=10.0.0.0/24, I will bind AP's 1-8 to VLan group 10.
Do I have to setup 1 dynamic interfaces per controller in the 10.0.0.0 subnet, taking up 4 addresses ?
And if I only have to set up 1 or 2 dynamic interface, how does this work if the controller fails?
    Cheers

  • CS6 Downloading Issue and question regarding Serial Key

I purchased the CS 5.5 Master Collection from a reseller during the period that allowed for a free upgrade to CS6. On 5/7/2012 I submitted the necessary documentation at the Customer Service Portal. On 5/17/2012 I received an email that the upgrade would be available for download in my Adobe account in 24-48 hrs. Under "My Orders" within my account it shows CS6 (it's been there since 5/17). When I attempt to download the file it directs me to the following page-
Any suggestions on how to download the file?
I also have not recieved a serial key. Will this be emailed?

  • Indesign CS6 display issues on macbook retina

    Hi
Can anybody help? I have recently got indesign cs6 for my macbook pro retina and to my horror discovered it is not capable of displaying properly on the reitna. I also understand there is no quick fix for this, in fact it wont be fixed. So the display is pixilated, does anybody know whether or not plugging the mac into a non retina display monitor will overcome this issue or is it the way the retina reads the software? Basically will it still look pixilated on a monitor? Please help me

that's why i am asking, i'm not tech savvy (cleary) but i wondered if it was the screen on the mac or the way the mac manages the software. It sounds like a silly question (to you) but i thought a seperate monitor that isnt HiRes may display it better or does a monitor just replicate the screen of the mac....see this is how little i know!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 playback issues & graphics glitches

    Hi everyone.
For a few days now (not sure whether it's been like this since the latest update) I have been experiencing serious playback issues and graphics glitches with Premiere Pro CS6. I'm on a Macbook Pro Retina.
Please see attached screenshot for reference. What happens is, I start Premiere - it works fine for a few minutes, but at some point things start to go wrong. The program monitor doesn't show anything anymore, even though the playhead is moving and I get audio.
Sometimes, either the program monitor or the source monitor displays some other part of the Premiere UI or even OSX Finder windows/ other applications like safari. What you are seing in the screenshot is a glitch showing a part of the source window within the program window.
Once this happens, there's nothing I can do but to restart Premiere.
Does anyone else have these kinds of issues?
Premiere is becoming unusable for me at the moment, which is a serious issue since this is my primary NLE.
What also happens from time to time is the following: i start up my project, and once i do anything like moving the playhead, i receive the following error message "a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down" which then does exactly what it says. this will happen repeateadly until i restart my computer.
    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to the forum.
Make sure you have the latest driver for your video card, and if you're using hardware mercury playback, then make sure you have the latest CUDA drivers from nvidia.  If that doesn't work, then please answer the questions here as completely as you can:

  • CS6 installation issues on my desktop, but not my laptop?

I recently purchased CS6 Production Premium, and am attempting to install it. I've installed Premiere on my laptop, as that and Affter Effects are the only programs I would conceivably need on it; the bulk of the programs are for my desktop computer.
However, upon attempting to install, I get the "Installer failed to initialize" error. I know that there are questions relating to this already, but I feel that the two-computer scenario gives me enough info that the issue should be significantly narrowed down.
If it helps, here are the potentially-relevant differences between the two computers:
    1) The desktop is 2009 and originally ran Vista, but now runs 7. The laptop is newer and runs 7.
    2) The desktop already has Adobe Flash CS3 installed; Flash CS6 is incidentally included in this new package.
I'm kind of expecting that the presence of Flash CS3 is the main impediment to installing, but that's speculation on my part. Any thoughts on the issue? Would uninstalling Flash CS3 resolve this?

I checked my specs, and everything seems to be fine. The only things it doesn't meet are the recommendations for Adobe SpeedGrade, which I don't plan on using.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 File Issues

Hello all, I just upgraded to the Creative Cloud on my PC, downloaded PS CS6 - Bridge and Camera Raw.  I'm configuring and working with CR2 files, no problem, however, Bridge will not let me delete, rename or update the metadata of my jpgs.
    Any suggestions?
    Captain

Curt, I'm running Windows 7 with 4 GB RAM - mother board won't support more than that.  I don't think permissions is the problem - same internal drive and the .CR2's work fine.  I can delete bad ones, batch rename and update the metadata no problem, it's just the jpegs.
OK, I have the same setup on another computer - same Bridge version, no problems with the Jpegs.  Issue here is, it's the backup computer and not my digital processing one with all the necessary drives.
Both computers are running Win 7 SP1 with 4 GB RAM 3.0 GHz processors.  Only difference is the digi system has 2 monitors.
Where would I check about "Read Only" for just the jpgs?

  • 2nd Monitor issue

I've been using a 2nd Monitor (ViewSonic 1080p) with my MacBook for several years.  After recent upgrade to Snow Leopard, MacBook no longer recognizes the 2nd monitor in the Preferences.  Monitor/cables are fine and work with another laptop OK. Do I need a software upgrade?, or will I be forced to purchase an Apple monitor.  Puzzled

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2029uk Desktop Computer. According to the specs this model has Intergrated AMD HD Graphics that have been disabled by the factory installed discrete PCI Express x16 AMD Radeon HD 6450. The DVI-D port and VGA port behind the "plastic covers" will not work unless the discrete graphics card is removed.
    Assuming the discrete AMD Radeon HD 6450 card has a DVD-I port and an HDMI port, you should be able to connect the monitors as follows;
    Computer > HDMI-to-DVI cable > HP 2011 monitor
Computer > DVI-to-VGA adapter > VGA cable > secondary monitor
    Alternatively, you could remove the discrete AMD Radeon HD 6450 card and use the integrated onboard DVI-D and VGA ports as follows;
Computer > DVI cable > HP 2011 monitor
Computer > VGA cable > secondary monitor

  • Active Monitor issues with WhatsUp Gold

Has anyone here written an active script for WhatsUp Gold to monitor that your SQL Service is actually running?
I've been working on customizing a script, which was publicly available from IPSwitch, to do so for my organization, but regardless of whether my server is actually up or down, it's returning an "UP" status.

'in my actual script, this has my real tablename too
'this table always has values in it, so it should always return a count of at least 1 row

  • X61S monitor issue

Hi everyone, I'm the happy owner of an X61S Thinkpad. Well, not quite happy at the very moment I must say. I've had this laptop for quite a while already. In fact, I'm not using it as primary computer since 2012 or something. Recently I decided to convert it to some kind of HTPC.Because it was becoming slower and slower, I decided to acquire a "cheap SSD" (almost succeeded). Thing is, I'm blind. And I didn't know my laptop's screen didn't work anymore. I think I've hit it somehow. The fact is, the integrated display is dead. The up-right corner allows  one to read a few lines but not the entire BIOS menu. Definitly not. Thus the sighted friend of mine that's helping me out with the new install and I decided to connect an external monitor. ... Which did, sadly, not help. And this is my question: how can I force the laptop's output to be the external VGA monitor? We tryed both connecting it to the internal VGA and the docking station. nor worked.
My friend managed to enter the "BIOS > config > display" menu, but because of the broken display he can't see enough lines to make the change. We aren't actually certain of what's being displayed at all. It might as well be an error message of some sort... So, if one has got a solution for me, I'd be the happiest guy on Earth for a second or two! Which is wonderful, isn't it?  Thanks! Regards, Chris
