CUPC 8.6.3/Presence 8.5.2 Incoming call window does not appear

Updated CUPC client to 8.6.3 on a Windows 7 32-bit workstation.  When a incoming call is placed, the incoming call windows to answer or send to VM is not appearing.  On the Show server health from the Help menu is showing all green.  Is there a setting I am missing to get this feature back?

Logout of the client.  Removed the CTI profile from the presence user management, click save, added back the profile, click save.  Login into the client.  Error icon next to the "Use my Cisco 7945 for audio" with message "Device Error.  Please review the Server Health under th Help Menu for a possible casue. [101].  Under Server Health, Green checks, no errors.

    i have trouble with CUPC 8. Presence 8.0.4. I tested all things, but i'm unable find solution.
    Client say: Phone initialization has occured. CTL reset required.[1002]. In the core log from the CUPC is:
    provider-runner] [ConfigService] [CUCMConfigSubService.updateCTL(633)] - CTL does not match the configured TFTP servers -- need reset!
    but i don't know which CTL, and why CUPC use CTL for accessing tftp. I'm not using secure connection to the CCM.
    Solution from release notes:

    Some details for my trouble. Integration from CUPS and CCM from system troubleshooter is ok.
    CCM has device type CUSF. But CUPC is not able connect to this softphone. CUPC client show error message from my first post. And in the core log from the CUPC are messages about softphone and downloading configuration file, but tftp connection failed. Log contain messages: Supplied TFTP address 192.168.10.3 is not in the CTL. // CTL does not match the configured TFTP servers -- need reset!
    (same situation with hostname of CCM)
    From release notes and description of this situation I tried erase old configuration from PC, but nothing change - same trouble.
    Has anybody some idea, which CTL is used for authenticate tftp.

    Another common cause for Soft Phone not working is TFTP traffic being blocked.
    From the local workstation you can perform the follwoing test:
    Open Command prompt: Start -> Run -> cmd
    tftp -i  GET .cnf.xml
    For example, if my TFTP Server is 10.0.0.1 and the CSF Device name is csftest, then the command to test tftp traffic from the workstation would be:
    tftp -i 10.0.0.1 GET csftest.cnf.xml
    If you get Connection Timed out, then disable any security software such as Windows Firewall or Anti Virus and then test again and now if it works, just add exception for "Cisco Unified Personal Communicator" and "Cisco Unified Client Services Framwork" processes  and then enable the Security Softwares and re-launch CUPC.

    Not without disabling deskphone/softphone control and turning CUPC into an IM&P-only client. If you wanted to go that route you would want to disable the CTI, CCMCIP, and Audio profiles within the CUP Admin > CUPC/Jabber > User settings.

    if we are dialing an internal extension on ip phone, jabber window pops up for this user.
    at this windows, there are no information for presence status/phone status.
    I'm thinking it souled be a small step to place this information to this window!?

    Hi,
    Short answer is NO, the mobile phone it self is not integrated with Jabber or IM.
    Jabber does not have full access to the mobile device and is not integrated in such a way that it will show on a call.

    I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch early 2011.
    The new features available in OS X Yosemite like Continuity, Handoff,etc are not supported in this model.
    I did upgrade RAM to avoid any possible slowdown.
    I found replacing the HD with SSD is  too expensive for  a 4 years old model.
    Replacing the CPU/GPU is not for amateurs.
    If you think that rebuilding a Mac part by part is a viable option, please go ahead and rebuild it.

  • Lync for Mac 2011 does not update Presence properly.

    I work in a Enterprise environment, we run Active Directory and bind our Macs to the domain. We use Lync for Mac, and I've noticed that on the Mac clients, the user status does not update accordingly. When my users are in a conference call, it shows
    available, etc. It works fine on a Windows machine with that same user.
    If the event is on the Outlook calendar, sometimes it will show them as away during that time period, but it does not seem to update when on the phone/in a meeting, etc.
    Any advice would be appreciated, my user is on Mac OSX 10.9.3 and Lync 14.0.8.

    We are seeing the exact same thing at our company.   A hundred or more Macs all with broken presence.
    Its issues like this that have us looking at Jabber now - Cisco doesn't seem to have buggy OS X software like Microsoft.    That will be 40,000+ seats lost due to this and other issues.    Maybe if enough hit MS in their pocketbook
    they will start paying more attention to Macs.. or at least test them before rolling out software.
    Note a few things regarding our setup:
    1. Our Lync is on-prem 2010 and 2013 mix
    2. Our email is in 365
    3. We are using ADFS and FIM for SSO, Dirsync. 
    4. We do not domain join our Macs.  (back when Lion wrecked all our domain joined accounts we stopped with that foolish practice)
    It worked with previous versions of Lync 2011. 
    It works for zero Lync 2011 users.   Lync 2013 on-prem domain joined machines work.   We see the same thing where a Mac users also logged into 2013 on a Windows machine will help update the Lync 2011 client... but its not an acceptable work-around.
      I suspect its having difficulties with the external cert.

    I am trying to integrate Cisco Unified Presence 8.6.1.10000-34 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with the integrated Sametime Client version 8.0.2 via the Cisco Plugins 8.6.1.1185.
    Phone control is working fine, whereas the presence status is not shown (= no handset symbol next to the Sametime user). When I look in the preferences of the plugin, I can see that the plugin has connected successfully to the CUCM (8.6.2.20000-2),whereas the connection to the CUPS has not been established.
    The user id as well as the password are all the same on all systems. Here is a description of what I have configured via the ciscocfg.exe tool:
    Feature Control:
    - Enable Phone Status -> checked
    - Enable Dial Using Cisco IP Communicator -> unchecked (not required)
    - Enable Control Desk Phone -> checked
    - Default Mode -> Control Desk Phone
    Control Desk Phone Settings:
    - Voicemail Pilot Number -> left blank (no voicemail)
    - Cisco Unified Communications Manager
         - Servers -> IP address of CUCM
         - Read Only -> unchecked
         - Use as Default CUCM -> checked
         - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
              - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
    Use Secure Connection: -> not required
    LDAP Phone Attributes: -> not required
    Phone Status Settings:
    - Cisco Unified Presence Servers -> IP address of CUPS
    - Read Only -> unchecked
    - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
         - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
    - Sametime User ID Mapping
         - Use Business Card Attribute -> MailAddress
         - Remove Domain -> checked
    - Display Off-Hook Status Only -> unchecked
    At the moment I don't see an error in the configuration, but maybe I am wrong. Could anyone please tell me what the error could be?

    Servers and clients used:
    1x CUCM 8.6.2.20000-2
    1x CUPS 8.6.1.10000-34
    1x IBM Lotus Domino Messaging Express Server 8.5.2
    1x Sametime Entry Server 8.5.2 (on top of the Domino server)
    2x IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with integrated Sametime 8.0.2
    2x Cisco Phone Control and Presence with Lotus Sametime (PCAP) 8.6.1.1185
    2x Cisco Unified Personal Communicator 8.5.5.19839
    Setup:
    - CUCM, CUPS and CUPC are working fine, i.e. Desk Phone control via CUPC, as well as availability and presence status are working without issues
    - IBM Lotus Domino server is the LDAP Directory, the Sametime Entry Server is installed on top of the Domino server and uses the Domino Directory
    - User ID and password on CUCM/CUPS match the ShortName field and password in Domino
    - The PCAP plug-in has been manually deployed to both Notes clients with the following configuration:
         - Enable Phone Status -> active
         - Desk Phone Control -> active
         - no credential synchronization for CUCM and CUPS, i.e. every user must fill the user details himself
         - Sametime User ID Mapping is implemented via the LDAP Attribute uid (which is equal to the user id in CUCM)
         - LDAP configuration filled in with details of the Domino server
    Phone Control is working fine, also the connection to the LDAP server (Domino) is fine. However, when I type in the credentials for the CUPS server login, I can see (in Troubleshooting pane) that the user (pparker) is connected to the CUPS server for a short period of time and then gets disconnected. After that no connection is possible to the CUPS server, i.e. status is always disconnected.
    I have collected the Tomcat (EPASSoap00010.log and security00010.log) logs via RTMT and compared them to the logs from the PCAP plugin. The relevant time period is from 15:14 to 15:17. In the Tomcat logs I can see that the authentication is successful (see attached files), however in the log of PCAP plugin I can see the following messages:

    I don't understand why the connection is rejected although the Sametime Internal ID and CUPS User ID match. Does anyone know what the issue could be?

  • Presence not appearing in Outlook 2013

    I have a user who is running Lync 2013 and Outlook 2013 (lync 2010 server/exchange 2010). The presence for other individuals shows correctly in Lync, however they all appear as white boxes in Outlook. We have tried everything from Repair, new profile, editing
    some registry lines and made sure that the "Display online status next to name" option is selected. Nothing seems to work. We can attempt a complete reinstall of Office, but I'd like to look for other options before we take that route.
    As a side note, we've had this happen in the past, and running Outlook with the /cleanfreebusy switch resolved it. For some reason, MSoft has decided to retire that switch in Outlook 2013.

    Which registry key did you check? The registry key related to presence is:

    In addition, if the domain name in the Email and IM address fields were

  • CUPC - Unable to log in from Windows machine not on domain

    Hi,
    We are unable to login to CUPC (ver 8.5.3.192248) on a windows machine that is not on the domain, however connected to the network (e.g. we can ping CUPS IP and FQDN). We've tried pointing the client to the FQDN address as well as IP Address. We get "Login Failed" message (so no "Unable to connect to network" message). The user can log in just fine on a machine that is on the domain, so everything back end should be ok.

    I am using version 8.5.5 and that works fine on a Windows 7 that is not in the domain.
    The only thing I had to do was add the server name to the hosts file, I have both the server name and the FQDN as in
    192.168.1.1     cups     cups.mycompany.com
    You can define the server by IP address but it seems to move internally to the server name and it needs to be able to map that to an IP address

    SharePoint presence status is displayed through a client-side setting by using a dynamic link library called name.dll.
    The name.dll file is an ActiveX® control which gets loaded within the Internet Explorer that calls the Lync \ Office Communicator API directly to request and display presence status within SharePoint site collections.

  • My Mac Book Pro does not recognize the presence of a DVD or CD

    Ever since I upgraded my MacBook Pro, it does not recognize a DVD or CD of any type when I put it in. I have a store bought DVD, the Social Network, which worked fine before upgrading to OSX operating system. Music CD's were okay then, too. Now, neither is even recognized by the player. Thought maybe it needed to be reloaded, but na't figure out how to do that. This is very frustrating, and makes me start to second guess my decision to switch to an Apple product. I've only hd this computer about 18 months, did the upgrade last September (?) and have had difficulties ever since. HELP me please!!!

  • Mac OS X 10.9.3 does not detect the presence of Canon MX395 printer. Help?

    My printer/scanner was working fine before I upgraded to Mac OS X Mavericks. I now run OS X 10.9.3, the printer is Canon MX395.
    Basically mr problem is that the printer is simply not detected. I turn it on and plug in the USB cable but nothing happens. I cannot view the printer in the list of printers in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, nor can view it if I click Add. I have already spent 2 sessions of 3-4 hours following all steps provided in Apple Support pages about setting up printers and troubleshooting with printers (including reset printing system and deleting all canon related files/applications and installing everything again, meaning both drivers from canon and canon drivers from Apple) and I am sure that the printer is working and well connected.
    Need help please!

    Hi all,
    Update on my situation, my problem is solved.
    I disinstalled and reinstalled many times everything to come to the conclusion that, in my case, installing the driver from Canon PROHIBITS the printer/scanner from working. Indeed, everything is now running fine with Apple driver for Canon printers (Apple Canon Printer Driver 3.0 for mac OS). BUT, if Canon driver is at the same time installed, computer is not being recognized. Having solely Canon driver without Apple driver also results in the printer not being recognized.
    This may sound weird (at least to me) but that is how it seems to be. Hope this can help anyone.
    Final solution:
    1) disinstall everything printer related (printers, drivers, reset printing system)
         > In my case, I did not reinstall Mavericks nor reset the whole OS
    2) install the Apple driver (and ignore the one from Canon)
    3) connect the printer, turn it on, should be working

    If you're not running the latest versions & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.

    I am working on reading TDMS Index files into Matlab. So far i have been fairly successful in reading them when the data has been acquired for a short period of time (checked at 2 min). However when a 15 minute data has been acquired, in a few segments the meta information is not present but a variable in the header info for that particular segment says raw data is present. Does anybody know if sometimes meta information is not available but the raw data is actually present (segment wise) in the TDMS file?

    That means the segment shares the same meta information with the previous segment. It doesn't have any new properties. Its raw index information is the same as previous.
    You could use the meta information of the previous segment to read the raw data of this segment. Hope this helps,
