Custom Groups in SmartView (for users of multiple forums pardon the dupe)

It was suggested I add my inquiry out here too. Simply put, I am looking for whatever method is available in SmartView for the user to create a custom grouping - say of products - which they can name and then add to their reports, and then the report will function with that group? So if they drill on other dims - the group definition is retained? What I have found so far is that I can create a custom MDX with a group - and it works great - except my users probably cannot generate custom MDX... So what options do I have? V 9 or V 11 ideas would be great. I have had 4 people tell me they saw demo's by Oracle of someone doing exactly this - it appeared easy, slick, and they have no memory of how it was done. I appear to have missed that demo. If you are familiar with OBIEE - my users want BINS in Essbase SmartView.

I think what you are referring to is the ability to create custom hierarchies and this is not available in Smart View. Users can leverage excel to do some of this but I am not sure you will get what you are looking for.

The home folder for user isn't located in the usual place......

Ok so I have trawled the internet and found this to be a known problem, however mine has an extra twist.
Ok, my Mac has a local admin account, lets call it Admin, but the account I use is a network account called PBN.
This network account does not create a home folder path to the server, as such it stores a user folder in Macintosh HD/Users/.
Since buying this mac this has been working fine, no issues, but today when I log onto the machine it gets the error "The home folder for <user> isn't located in the usual place or can't be accessed", whats more is that its created a new folder labelled "~".
Things I have tried:
1) repair permissions and repair disk while booted into SL DVD
2) Right clicking while in System Pref - Users to get to advanced options to check the home drive path (Can't do this because its a network account although the profile is stored locally)
3) xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo / on problematic machine
Couldn't do this on the PBN account as it has no permissions (although it is a domain admin)
attr file no found error the admin account
4) xattr -d com.apple.FinderInfo /volumes/users/ while booted into another machine with broken machine in target disk mode.
So, I am at a major loss and would really preciate any help

The error messages regarding network homes really don't offer any specific clues as to what's wrong. The error message you're getting means one of several things - you've done something wrong setting up your server, you've done something wrong setting up your clients, your server has hardware/software issues, or your network infrastructure is bad. I'm honestly not trying to give you a bad time here, just going over possibilities.
DNS, which you mentioned, is a good place to start. You mentioned that forward/reverse lookups work, and that's a good sign. But just to be sure, have you run sudo changeip -checkhostname
If that reports back that the names match and there is nothing to change, then it's pretty certain that DNS is not the issue. Just to be sure, your clients are using your OS X Server, or whatever server is hosting DNS records for your setup?
The next step is to double-check permissions on the shares where user homes are located. The clients should also have accurate date&time settings.
The logs on the clients and server can also offer clues, however cryptic they may be, be sure to look at them if you haven't.
Also, has this setup worked before, if not, can you describe how you set everything up? I've been stymied by OS X Server myself, so I get where you're at, but the more details you provide, the better chance that Tony, Mr. Hoffman, or other folks here can offer a few more clues/suggestions.

Exchange 2010 - Selecting display names for users with multiple mailboxes

This isn't so much of a problem, but more of a "What is the best way to handle this" sort of thing.
I have a client with Exchange 2010 and multiple domains. Because they must be able to send as each domain, I have them setup with individual accounts/mailboxes for each domain. We're at a point that they have three domains which means three accounts per
user and three listings in the GAL. Their original accounts shows up as Smith, John. The second domain added shows up as First last. I'm at a loss what to use for the third. They want each account to show up in the GAL so that other users can send account
specific stuff to them if needed, but I'm trying to figure out how to keep this relatively organized and not make the name on outbound emails too convoluted.
Any suggestions on a format I can use that will make these accounts stand out from each other in the GAL, but not be a hot mess on the recipient end either?

Is it possible to send email notification to users when unlocking or reseting the password using Su01 in SAP .
I think with workflow it can be achived . I like to know if it can be done with any inbuilt funtionality of SAP.

This is not a SAP standard funtionality... I presume you'll need to create your own custom code to achive that, talk to your abaper.

Applying custom Group policy to existing users using group policy

Hello Everyone,
i am unable to find a way to push a custom theme to client PC using group policy.
I have tried "Load a Specific Theme" Group Policy but it is only applying to a new user logging on windows.
I have a custom theme that i want it to load to every existing user's machine.
Is there any way to do it using GPO??

I then run this in a run once script when the user first logs in, this sets the theme once on new profile generation.

Group membership for users is not reflected at the client until full reboot

Ok, so I am new to this:
So I created two groups on the server g1 and g2. Created two server users u1 and u1. I have one client with three accounts: System Admin, u1 and u1.
On the server:
g1 has one member u1
g2 has one member u2
When I swap the membership on the server using Server pref. or Workgroup manager, the users on the client still have access to their original group.
I tried logging everyone out of the client. I does not work.
The only way is to reboot the client completely. However, sometimes when I change the membership it does get reflected on the client. Any ideas?
Equipment:
One (1) Mac Mini Server 10.6.3, clean install. (defaults to OD)
One (1) MacBook Pro 17" , 10.6.4
Is there a way to push?

Increase access speed for users in multiple countries

We have set up a SQL sever database that serves as the back end for an Access front end.
We have users in Australia (NSW, Victoria and SA) and in Batam, Indonesia.
All Australian users have acceptable access speeds, but the users in Batam, Indonesia are experiencing severe slowdowns, even on a clear 12meg duplex connection.
Please advise how we may resolve this so our Indonesian users have the same access speed as our Australian users.

It is correct that the geo-replication only offers readable secondaries (in the Premium service tiers). If your workload is mostly reads with occasional writes, you can consider having local secondaries for the read queries and perform the writes into
the central primary DB.
One other thing you could look into is to shard the data, if the application and dataset allows this:

However if you cannot split up the data and all your sites require constant write access and operate on the same dataset, I believe it comes down to running a single DB in the 'optimal' location.

Is there a way for users to add products in the front-end using a Web-App?

I am racking my brains trying to figure out a way to let users add products to the front-end on their own.
I am building a site for a client who needs users to be able to create there own storefront, kind of like ebay. Here is exactly the functionality I want: Supplier Frontend Products Upload - Magento Connect
There HAS to be a way to do this with a web app even if it means writing in some code...can anyone suggest a way to do this?

In short, out of box no, but is possible.
Solution 1: Hosted on BC, external interface that interfaces with BC API, requires external hosted server.
Solution 2: Wait until v3 of the API comes out... no timeline from Adobe given. This would remove the need for the external API server.
Can do both solutions for you but solution 2 wont work until adobe allows it.

Autosave for user ID and password in the web

I got a new E71 replacing a Windows PDA and I don't find the way to automotically save the usier IF and the password when accessing URL whic demand it. I need to to type once and again.
I use to have it in my windows PDA. Can anybody help me and indicate how to do it??

Create a favorite->add other object-BSP APPLICATION
enter the following
BSP APPLICATION - CRM_UI_FRAME
Start Page - default.htm
in parameter add the following two parameters
sap-user - value ishould be your user name
sap-password - value should be your password.
you can also create a internet explorer favorite by adding the same parameters to the original link. i.e.
http://sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ui_frame/default.htm?sap-user=(user name)&sap-password=(password)
save the favorite. and now when you double click on this favorite, it will launch web UI and won't ask for the password.

ACE isssue for rserver with multiple IP on the same NIC

Dear all,
I'm doing to configure an ACE with bridged mode to load balance incoming traffic to 3 TMG servers following this network diagram:
The system design require to have 4 IP address on the same NIC, and 3 VIP for each pool of the IP as presented in the diagram (rserver: 172.22.14.52 & 62 & 72 - VIP: 172.22.14.82). The attached configuration of the ACE was tested successfully, but we discover that some NIC crash after a non-specific period (Server cannot ping their default gateway: Destination unreachable). I need then to restart the server to get things going well.
After troubleshooting many things, I discover that when I remove the service policy on the ACE interface, the problem disappears and server continue to work correctly.
Is it possible that this problem is due to having on the ACE arp table 3 IP address having the same mac? and how I can solve it?

Thanks for replying.
I did the same and it was working for me even if the Type is Single.
I just gave the Group name and all users were able to see the task. This is fine with me.
I just observed one more thing.
When the task is created, all the users in the Group are able to see it in 'Me & My Group'.
But the data entered by the creator is not seen by other users.
There is an action 'Save' in the Task. If the creator clicked on it, then the task is automatically 'Acquired' by the creator.
Other users in the group are able to see the task and the saved data, but are not able to Submit.
What I expected the Save button to do is only to Save the data in the Payload. Not Claim it.
Is there a way to make the payload data only to save but not to claim the task?

"Custom" grouping and / or colored lines in ALV

Hi!
Two questions:
1. Is it possible to use colors in the ALV for a given set of rows? I'd like to mark rows with a color, which are logically belongs together.
2. Other approach would be to sort the ALV and via that the "similar" rows (i.e. some column values in the rows have the same value ) would be grouped.
The normal ALV grouping feature is too general. E.g if the ALV contains a lot of empty cells, then those cells will be grouped as well, nevertheless they are logically don't belong together -> looks quite weird.
If the custom grouping cannot be realized, then my approach would be the following:
1. Sorting the table. -> rows where the content partially equal are in succession.
2. Manually clear the cells in the second (in my business case only two lines can be partially equal, others are unique) row, which are the same as in the previous row.
3. Use coloring to indicate that these two lines are belonging together.

It is possible to assign colors to a specific row. But you need to have some work around.
You have to create an extra attribute for each column that you have in your table. The type of that attribute should be of WDUI_TABLE_CELL_DESIGN.
After Instatiating your ALV Component you have to use the following statement for the column that you have to apply the color.
ls_column-r_column->set_cell_design_fieldname( COLUMN1_DESIGN ). Assuming ls_column-r_column will have COLUMN1 as filed name.
There are 16 colors that are defined and each combination from '00' to '15' will define one color.
Look at the structure below. Its a table with 4 columns(2nd and 4th represents colors for first and third columns)

If you consider the above struture as your output table 3 rows and 4 columns then your third row will be highlighted in green color because 02 represents green. You can hide your second column and fourth column in above example because they represents colors. Use the following statement to hide those columns.

                 cl_wd_uielement=>e_visible-none ). "ls_column-r_column will have 'COLUMN1_DESIGN'

Error while adding custom group in Reciver Meta Model

I have added ZTEST_CG custom group to MOBILE in RMM and saved it.
And added a custom attribute BPNUMBER where "Adim UI Display" is chacked, No Default value,Data type is CHAR, length is 10
Once I save it, it populated success message
And the status of the "Custom group" is active
Then i have tried to generate the MOBILE Meta Model
While generating It show a pop-up box "Request terminated with error(see log)"
then "Consistency Check" tab Displays in MOBILE as below
