Customizing MSS

Hi,
We are trying to customize the ESS MSS screens. It includes approval and reject kind of thigs.
For this process we developed some application. This application we need to integrate with the standard MSS application.
When i try to import the MSS appication (GPS_ACNCUST_Dmsspcr~sap.com).
After the import i am getting the errors.
These type of errors i am getting.
Error:
ViewUsage com.sap.xss.ser.oadp.ExplorerWindowInterfaceViewVcOADPUsage1: Embedded View/InterfaceView is missing (Hint: Repair Window) IVACWindow.wdwindow GPS_ACNCUST_Dmsspcr~sap.com/src/packages/com/sap/xss/hr/pcr/selectemployee
The import com.sap.xss.hr.pcr.selectform.wdp cannot be resolved
I think some of the Dependent DC's are missing.
Please help me to import the standard application into my local developement.

Assessment - Planning Page will not show in Custom MSS Role

I have gone through the Notes/Docs for setting up OBN for Performance Management and have implemented the same.
Now if I go to the Standard MSS role and try to open up Assessment > Click on 'Create' for Succession Planning, it works fine by showing up the Talent Assessment window where it can be completed.
Now, we have a custom MSS role copied from the standard one and I have included the same Talent Management workset (with the page, folder inside - just like the standard role).
But when I try the same scenario as above (Z_Manager_role > Talent Management > Assessment (from Service Map) > Click on Create under Succession Planning), I get the following error.
There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_HumanResources": object "employee". For more information, contact your administrator.
Why would it work on the standard role and not the copy? Any directions highly appreciated.
FYI. We are on 7.01 SP8, SAP_MSS 600 SP18

Sorry for not getting back earlier. I had opened a message with SAP. It looks like the problem has to do with Navigation Targets in my custom MSS role - so that is narrowed down now.
The following prerequisite applies: You must include the navigation targets (for the portal pages mentioned below) in your role.

Trigger WF when updating entries through custom MSS screen

Hi can anyone tell how to trigger a workflow when entry in 2007 infotype is updated using custom MSS screen.What are the steps need to follow.

Hello,
For HR, you can do it using transaction SWEHR1 to define infotype 2007 as "triggerable". Then, use transaction SWEHR3 to link that object with an event.
I got this from a website called SAPTechnical and I could not post the link here. Go to that website, then, click tutorials and select Business Workflow. Search for the word HR and you'll find an article on this.

Error while pointing to Custom MSS Component

Hello,
We are implementing MSS on Portal. I have Z copied the standard MSS Webdynpro Component HRMSS_C_CATS_APPR_DASHBRD. To point to the custom one in the Homepage, I have the Custom Component Configuration ZHRMSS_HOMEPAGE_OVP, in which when I refer to the Custom Webdynpro Component created, I get the Error : 'Component <z component name> of UIBB (Window Name) implements an Invalid Interface'.
What can be causing this?
Any help would be highly Appreciated.

Try closing and reopening the project. This is a common issue with Web Dynpro projects and closing and reopening tends to fix it.

Custom MSS PCR scenario & fields

HI ,
I have successfully copied the Standard MSS pcr scenarios to Z scenario & forms , as per the guidelines in Development guide for PCR .All the form elements & PCR flow is working fine for Z scenario &
forms .
I need to add some new textfields/dropdown fields to the Z form & scenario.
Is there any sap document that provides deeper understanding of custom fields addition to Z forms /scenario or the only way out is to go through coding .

Custome MSS Webdynpro form and update & approvel process.

Hi,
I developed MSS form using Webdynpro Java and want to add the submit (not for actual update) as well as approvel / rejection process.
what is standard process is to route the PCR Notifications through the HR Administrator who will then process them in the backend, to facilitate any audits & validations before actual update.
so where to store the data , before actual update? we i need to use xml ? how to get the notification no in this case ?
is the are way to store data directly in r3. and get those data from iqs_special_data_get, if it is good practice.
what is solution of my requirement, please guide me.

To study the standard MSS PCR process , please study the development guide for PCR available at SAP
Service marketplace .
Standard MSS PCR forms are designed at SFP in ABAP and are processed through BADI QISR1.
for PCR workflows refer -
WS31000009 ISR_CONTROL
WS31000010 ISR_APPROVE
WS31000011 ISR_PROC
I would suggest to study the standard process first before doing any customizing .

Customizing MSS reporting selection period dropdown list

We have diffrent ABAP programs that uses the PNP logical database and we want to customize the period selection dropdown list on the MSS reporting iview. In same scenarios we want to display only 'Today'. In these scenarios we use the report together with a variant.
When the user execute the report, the selection period on the variant is used and that is 100% correct. The problem is that the user change the selection period on the frontend (on the Iview) and this is not what is reflected on the output of the report, becasue the report uses a variant.
Therefore we want to customize the period selection dropdown list on the Iviewin the scenarios where a report uses a variant.
I know that we cannot customize the perido selction on the Iview, beacue we cannot set the properties on the Iview.
Is anybody familiar with how we can accomplish this.

We do have a property in the iview for which you can set the period. You need to know the name of the property. Give us the iview name so that we can have a look.

Customer Mss Upload with non ENGLISH language

Hi,
I have a BDC program which uploads customer Address data into the system.
Now I have some customer data with non english characters like chinese and Japanese. If I try to upload this data with english language LOGON then data doesnt updates correctly but if I use the corresponding language logon and upload the same data then it works fine.
Is there any ways I can upload these non english customer data with english system logon using BDCs or do I need to use any other approach?

Customizing MSS reporting period dropdown

We are in the process of upgrading our portal from EP6 to EP7 (NW04s). We have installed the updated business packages for MSS which are now web dynpro iViews. In the previous selection criteria iView that we utilized, we could set a property "Selection period values" to customize the entries available in the period dropdown. I do not see such a property on the new reporting iView I am using, mss~rpt. Is anyone familiar with how to accomplish this?

Customizing MSS UWL

Hi Experts,
I want to customize the MSS UWL as per the client requirement. they want to hide the three buttons
(Resubmit, Forward, Assign To Me) * from the UWL.
Could you please give some start on how to start the customization of the SAP delivered IView. And also belive that as a XML IView though not sure of it.

Customizing MSS Business Package

We have implemented MSS Business Package in the Enterprise Portal 6.0. Now we want to know how to customize the iviews. For example change the look & Feel for an iview.

what do you mean by look and feel? What do you want to change? Do you mean changing the Iviews etc?
I suggest not to go for it as this package and content is provided by SAP and just configure the items necessary for you and leave the rest of them. If you intended to use only few Iviews then create your own role and assign these iviews as delta links in your role and have your own way of presenting the MSS.

Customizing MSS ADDON Launchpad

We would like to add Leave Request funcionality in MSS launchpad (MSS ADDON). We are running SAP ECC 6 on EHP5.
I have created a new link on MSS launchpad. I configured the parameter PERNR_MEM_ID on Application Parameter option, but after selecting a user and clicking on "Leave Request" option, the "Leave Request" window opens but the parameter PERNR_MEM_ID is empty. With this parameter empty, the manager can´t create a leave request for his employees.

Well.. So I don´t know...
I have configured as you told me and PERNR_MEM_ID is still empty.
I think the "Application Alias" is the "key" and there is something configured behind it, because if I setup Leave Request as bellow, it works:
Application Alias = CLOCK_IN_CLOCK_OUT
Application Parameter =
Configuration = HRESS_AC_PTARQ_LEAVREQ
Namespace = sap
Application = HRESS_A_PTARQ_LEAVREQ_APPL

Publish Customer Report in the page Overview of MSS

Hi,
Do you have the homepafe framework created for MSS too?
If yes, you can make a service with the Customer report from img and then add it to the Area (suctom area) and then add the are to the custom MSS area group page.
If not, then you can create a separate workset with attached page and iview and the iview can point to the customer report.
Attach this workset to the Custom MSS role.

MSS IAC reporting error?

We created custom MSS role which has limited services from standard MSS role. So we didn't want to make any change to the standard MSS role. One of the service under custom MSS role is reporting we made it to point to reporting page(PCD as below) instead of standard LPA reporting.

When we assign custom MSS role to a user, user could see the report but there is a button on this report "Report status" which pops up a new window pointing to IAC reporting iView(PCD as below), this one fails because of permission denied.

The permission is denied because the user do not have standard MSS role, but he only has custom MSS role. If I assign standard MSS role, the above PCD works perfectly. The above PCD is located under the standard MSS role.
How and where do I change to point to different PCD instead of standard PCD as above?
We copied the IAC reporting iView to the custom MSS role, new PCD location is as below
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/company.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/company.pct.erp.mss.iviews/company.pct.erp.mss.hcm/company.pct.mss.hcm.rpt.iac
How can I change to this PCD for this report?

I cannot see any property for iView PCD?
I found thread with similiar issue but it was to do with runtime error, for me I get permission denied because new MSS role is trying to access standard MSS role PCD object as said in my first post.

Just more info on this issue, the actual PCD of the iAC report is
portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm/com.sap.pct.mss.hcm.rpt.iac
Where as when clicking on the "Report result" button it's looking at below PCD which is inside standard MSS role

MSS Work Overview issue "There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_HumanResources": object "employee"

Siddharth's response and the SAP Note he mentioned were both very helpful. I received the exact same error message in a different scenario. While the fix was likely different than the one needed in this specific case, it occurs often in custom MSS and HR Admin roles and I hope this helps someone else out. In my case I needed to add the Pages shown below to my Workset and mark them as invisible.
