Dataguard : redo transport service

Hi,
I have a question regarding dataguard: I have a primary database (oracle 10.2.0.4 win 2003 x64 R2 SP2) communicating with a standby and everything was working like a charm up to the moment where the primary starts creating a lot of session with the user PUBLIC on the standby.... At the end, the standby exceeded the maximum processes and the redo transport service stopped.
So I stopped/restart the standby and as soon as the primary sees the standby, there are 7 sessions with user PUBLIC that are created. Then few seconds, after another one was created and another one and it stoppes at 9 this time.
I would like to know what drives the creation of a new session and what is the purpose of those sessions (I thinks it maintains the synchronisation information....) .... What could be the reason for so many sessions to be created... Could it be network failure...
Thanks
Christophe Lizé

Hi Ogan,
Thanks for your answer. This is a windows box. SAP is the application that consumes the data.
In the standby alertlog, we can see the session that is started:

  • Quick Redo Transport Services question

    Hey All,
I'm just testing Data Guard out for the first time. To make sure I understand this properly, physical archive logs are not copied from the primary to standby (LGWR or ARCH). Rather, the redo is copied into the online standby redo logs, and then the standby archives them when switches occur (which would be when the primary does a switch). Is this correct?
    Thanks!

    Hi
It depends how you have configured your data guard set-up, assuming you have created standby redo logs then yes this is roughly what will happen.
Have you read: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14239/concepts.htm#i1033862 ? It does explain all of this.
    Thanks
    Paul

says that your network setup is not correct. You need to resolve that first.
As for Broker setup steps how about the doc or our Data Guard 11g Handbook?
It's 3 DGMGRL commands so I am not sure what 'steps' you need?

    Summary
OK, this is way off. I don't in any way want to be unprofessional or rude but I'm not sure how to help without wasting you time or mine. So I'm going to take a few educated guesses and hope I'm helping you.
First I have a short note on how to do this here :
    http://www.visi.com/~mseberg/data_guard_on_oracle_11_step_by_step.html
Second, you really need to understand the Oracle parameters needed by Data Guard so I would ask you read :
Data Guard Concepts and Administration 11g Release 2 (11.2) E10700-02
The section in chapter 3 "Set Primary Database Initialization Parameters"
Third, you say vmware. By that do you mean two separate vmware servers? A Primary and a Standby of something else?
More details here might help. Vmware is fine, but if I'm setting this up I want two Servers, one for the Primary and one for the Standby database.
Will still post the details of Standby INIt ASAP
    Best Regards
    mseberg

  • Exchange 2013 - The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the configured threshold

Noticed at about noon that no emails had been received all day. Began to investigate and found that the MS Exchange Transport service had been set to deny email submission because it was using too much memory on the server (91%).
The error message makes me think that we may have been getting used by malware or something similar.“The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the
    configured threshold.”
There are also several warning messages that list particular IP addresses and say that a connection from that IP was denied because there were already the maximum number of connections (20).
From what I can tell, all of the IP addresses are from Taiwan.
The time period for which some emails may be missing is from close of business yesterday ( 4/3/2014) through about 12:45 today (4/4/2014).
From the time I spent reading and trying to figure out the error, I think we may need to readjust our throttling policies to prevent this from happening.
The exchange server is currently running at 90%+ CPU and 50%+ memory usage the majority of the time, and I’m not sure how to fix it.
Also, I cannot get into EMS I get a access denied message from the destination computer. (Exchange server) I want to get into there to change the throttling policy back to default, since we disabled it.
    The Error reads:
The WinRM client cannot process the request. The WinRM client tried to use Kerberos authentication mechanism, but the destination computer <Exchange> returned an 'access denied' error. Change the configuration to allow Kerberos authentication
mechanism to be used or specify one of the authentication mechanism supported by the server. (How do I do this?) To use Kerberos, specify the local computer name as the remote destination. (I'm trying to use EMS while logged into the local Exchange server)
Also verify that the client computer and the destination computer are joined to a domain. (Exchange is on our domain, and the computer trying to connect is the same computer) To use basic, specify the local computer name as the remote destination, specify
Basic authentication and provide user mane and password. Possible authentication mechanisms reported by server.

I assumed control of this exchange system already in place and I do not have much experience with exchange 2013 or server 2012. I do know 2008, but that doesn't help very much in this situation.
    Recent changes to the system:
About three days ago we switch our sessions policy to allow many more connections, and I believe this caused the issue. This is what I changed it to:
Made the registry DWORD (32-bit) "Maximum Allowed Sessions Per User" and modified the value to 1000. Location of registry change @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
I just changed it to 10 from the 1000. I'm hoping this solves this. So far no.
Also, I am not the best in the shell or command line interfaces. Any help would be wonderful!

    Hi,
Yes, could be hardware performance issue. Try recycle the Transport process and see if the issue persists.

  • GOODS TRANSPORT SERVICE TAX

    Hi
    the scenario is
As per Notification No. 35/2004, in relation to the transport services, the onus of collection and payment of service tax has come to the recipient of the services unlike the provider of the services in other cases. Hence organizations are required to collect and deposit the tax with the govt. authority on behalf of the transporters.
here the mapping is to be done in sucha a way that postings must be as follows
    x G/L  freight clearing A/C - Dr
    y G/L  Freight vendor A/C - Cr
    z G/L  Service tax input  ( 12% on 25% of Frieght)  Dr
    a G/L  Ecess tax input ( 2%on 12 %)                    Dr
    b G/L  SHcess input     ( 1% on 2%)                     Dr
    c G/L  Service tax Payable  ( 12% on 25% of Frieght)  Cr
    d G/L  Ecess tax Payable ( 2%on 12 %)                    Cr
    e G/L  SHcess Payable     ( 1% on 2%)                     Cr
I had defined a Tax code with JSTX, JEC5 amd JEC 6
I had assigned the Accont keys VST, VS6, VS7 in the tax proceedure, and G/L accounts Input for each act key in ob40
but how to map the G/L acts payable
i tried to enter the payable amount MIRO, but for the client this is a lengthy way
i have one other way in OB40 ,go to rules iam seeing the debit/credit flag is locked , if iam able to  check the flag  for debit/credit,  i may abl to assign the debit and credit G/L accounts.
If any one had gone through the same config
Hope some one might have mapped this business process.
please help me out how to do it.

  • Transport service does not start automatically after upgrade to exchange 2010 SP2 from Exchange 2010 SP1

    Hi,
I am trying to upgrade Exchange 2010 SP2 from SP1, but Transport service does not start automatically.
Tried manually start services, it started successfully but again goes down within few seconds automatically.
    Reboot server. but no luck.
    Any help.
    MD

    Hi,
I recommend you use event viewer to check if there are any relate event logs. This may help us to find the cause.
In addition, as Amit mentioned, Exchange 2010 SP2 isn't supported by Microsoft, I think upgrading to SP3 is a much more sensible approach.
    Thanks.

I installed Exchange Server 2013 SP1 in my test environment. After that mail flow between internal and external mail servers completely stopped. In the end I discovered that Transport Service on both of the mailbox servers refused to start (or, to be more

The reason for that behavior was TrendMicro ScanMail for Exchange 11. Seems that it was unable to work with the new SP properly and prevented the entire Transport Service from starting. Uninstallation of the antivirus eliminated the issue.

Actually, you can just disable the agents until TrendMicro releases a patch and then enable them again:
    http://community.trendmicro.com/...
BTW, a similar problem (high CPU utilization and services not starting) is hitting the AVG package:

  • MS Exchange server 2010 messages will be placed in the poison queue and the transport service will crash

    Can any1 please help.
We have Exchange server 2010, we just upgraded it with SP3 and then the issue occers that we were unable to send n receive mail outside of our LAN...i mean from gmail or hotmail..

We have disabled the antivirus also but issue remains same.
We have CAS 1 n 2 as of Clustering environment and we upgraded sp3 for both. but we did CU4 on CAS1 to see the results to resovle this issue but no luck

  • Exchange 2010. Unable to access block list IP's in Hub Transport Service.

Just started today as I was getting ready to add an IP address to the IPBlock list.  Box pops up that says 'failed to enable key constraints.  One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique or foreign-key constraints.' The only
thing I have seen mentioned running the Get-IPBlockListEntry command because there was a duplicate IP address in the list.  When I ran the command, there were 600+ entries, but I can only read the last 350 of them.  There are no duplicates however
in the entries I can see.
    My questions are:
is there a hard limit to how many ip addresses can be added into the block IP list  box?
Is there a  command that would search for duplicate addresses, and if not, is there another way to take care of the issue besides uninstalling and reinstalling the exchange anti spam agent?
How do I get to see the first 250 entries in the results from the exchange management shell?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
Please refer to the following steps to reinstall anti spam agent:
    1. Open EMS, type:
    cd "c:\program files\Microsoft\exchange server\v14\scripts"
    ./uninstall-antispamagentss.ps1
    2. Restart the Exchange transport service.
    3. Go back to EMS, type:
    ./install-antispamagent.ps1
    4. Restart the Exchange transport service.
If the problem still happens, please restart Exchange hub server
    Thanks.

  • How to cancel and redo a service confirmation?

Here is the scenario (Service management):
A Service confirmation has been created with status "Completed".
As a result the status of the originating service order is set to "Confirmed" (standard behavior).
Say the confirmation data was wrong and postings in R/3 needs reversing (for example for a spare parts goods issue).
Standard SAP allows you to Cancel the items in the Service confirmation which will automatically reverse all the postings in R/3. So far so good!
The problem is that I can't see how to recreate a new service confirmation. The status "Confirmed" on the Service order prevents you from creating any new follow up service confirmation.
Does anybody know the answer to this puzzle?
Thanks in advance for help !

    Hi
to redo the service confimation, you need to change the status of the service order to "released'.
    Permanent solution:
The way service oder status changes automatically when service item is confirmed, trigger a action when a service cofirmation is cancelled so that the status of that service item changes back to released.
