how do i achieve the same

SE03 and then Include Objects in a Transport Request , then remove Maximum Number of Hits = 1.000 and give 9999, then give Person Responsible i.e. SAP Id and then execute it will display all Packages, you identify your Object and then select it and click on In request Button, it will ask Package name and Req, so create it.

Datasource transport in BI 7.0 in SCM 5.0 fails

System Specification - SCM 5.0 with BI 7.0 SP10.
Is there a way to transport a new datasource created from a planning area from Dev -> QA. Right now I have tried many times to transport datasources and all of them have failed. In the past we had to either open the system or use a User with SAP_ALL and manually activate these datasources and then transport the remaining objects DTP's, TRNFMs etc.
Any other way to activate datasources, other then manual method.

Hi Satish,
You want to transport transformations. This transformation can be between datasrc and the infocube or any such 2 objects.
The target system where you want to transport this should have these 2 objects. They must be active in the target system.
If not then the request which you will transport should also have these 2 activated objects along with the transformation.

DataSource Transport to another system

I have transported the DataSource from Development system to Quality system. The datasource is showing under the source system of Development system in Quality system. How can I change this Datasource to source system Quality system.

Have you checked the source system assignment and conversion of logical systems names after the transport?
RSA1 --> Menu bar -->Tools -->conversion of logical systems names
Enter the original source system (Dev) and Target source system (QA) save it...

DataSource-Transport in R/3 does not work

Hello everybody,
we're currently having some trouble with transporting DataSources in the SAP R/3 out of the transactions RSA6 (for standard DataSources) or RSO2 (for generic DataSources).
system environment:
We're using three R/3-Systems (deployment, integration and production) and two BI-Systems (deployment/integration as one and production) with the folowing connections:
BI-production <- R/3-production
BI-deployment/integration <- R/3-integration
nothing <- R/3-deployment
This problem only occurs in the R/3-deployment-system.
problem:
Usually a transport request pops up if you edit a DataSource. In our case nothing happens. We can transport the ExtractStructure without any problems. But the DataSource itself cannot be transportet. So we have to do every single change in the R/3-integration-system again. This is leading to the issue that the two elements of a DataSource (the ExtractStructure and the DS itself) have two different original-systems.

Maybe its helpful to say that the key-problem is that the system doesn't create an a-version (object type OSOA) of the DataSource.
If you activate a content-DS in RSA5 you normally add an a-version of the DS to the already existing d-version (object type OSOD) of that DS. And if you create a generic DS you normally also create an a-version of that DS.
In our case that doesn't happen. And that's the reason why we cannot transport the DS.
But - as I sad - this problem only occurs in our development-system.

DataSources transport from development to QA TESTING???

I developed some objects in my D system using a generic extractions. I used 3 DataSources .
Ii transported all my SAP BW object in the testing system. now I need to collect my 3 DataSource in the R/3 development System to the R/3 system. Please can anyone show me the steps. I tried all day but no result. Please help me, I need the steps.

You are using Tbales, so collect Table if it is Z/Y table, if it is SAP table then not required.
1.Collect Tables and DataSources in request and transport from D ECC to Q ECC.
2.Replicate DS in Q BW system.
3.Collect InfoObjects and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
4.Collect Cube/DSO and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
5.Collect Multiproviders if you have any and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
6.Collect Transfer/InfoSource and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
7.Collect Update Rules and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
8.Collect Reports and Transport from D BW to Q BW.

BI Content Remote Activation of Datasource - Transports

During the process of installing BI content in the Dev BW Environment, I am promted to login to the source system (CRM DEV in this case) so that the BI content datasources can be activated and replicated remotely. This process works fine.
The question I have is the following.
When I tranpsort all the BW BI content objects from our DEV BW environment to the BW QA environemt, do I still need to collect the activated datasources in the source system (CRM DEV ) and also transport them to CRM QA ?
Or does the remote activation and replication of the datasources(in the source system-CRM QA) happen automatically when i transport the BW BI content objects from DEV BW to BW QA.

I don't think, the remote activation and replication of the datasources(in the source system-CRM QA) happen automatically BW QA.
In BI 7.0, the general practice is, first u have transport datasources from ECC Dev to ECC QA...Then replicate these datasources in BI QA.
In most of the cases, these replicated datasources becomes inactive in BI QA.
To over come this, after the replication, u should transport Datasources from BI DEV to QA, so that this DS overwrites replicated (inactive) ones from ECC.

Urgent : CO/PA Datasource Transport from R/3 DEV to R/3 QA

Hello!
I am trying to transport the CO/PA datasources that show up in RSA6 in R/3DEV to R/3 QA. All the transports have been moved. Nothing shows up in RSA6 of QA. I can display the datasource in KEB0 but cannot do the extraction in RSA3, as it gives the error 'It is not defined in the system".
I have already executed the program ZCOPACLT and that is how I can display the datasource in KEB0.
Am I missing something somewhere?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Sonal,
1) check in DEV if the extractstructure was generated there.
2) check the object list of the transport to see wether the extractstructure was included.
if the structure was not generated in DEV you might have to recreate the Datasource, unless anybody knows a better way.
if the structure is inactive (e.g because Description is missing) try to activate the structure and recollect the transport.
If the structure is available in Dev and active annd was not in transport you should recollect and retransport.
Sorry, thats all I can think of right now.

I made a mistake on my end, and I thought it is fixed but it isn't.
What I am trying to transport Datasource to QA. It did went successfully but somehow it didn't activate on the QA. It is showing modified in QA. I am trying to make it active version. I did tried to replicated but no success on it. Any idea on how to make it work or what step I need to do?

DataSource Transport error

Hello Gurus...
We are getting an issue while transporting the Ds's from D to Q system.
error msg is " Object requested is currently Locked by user DDIC"
Could anyone help me to voercome this.

Well do the following:
rather than uncloking the request, unlock the object from all request. For this, go to SE03 again --> give RSDS as type and <datasource name> --> select the check box and execute. This should surely remove your DS object from all request.

Question to Datasource transport

I repulicate one datasource from R/3 to Production BI system using 3.5 version. However I used this datasource as 7.0 version, also created transformation based on the datasource in BI development system. Quesiton is if I transport request from BI development to BI production system, does this datasource with 3.5 verison will be changed automatically to 7.0 version? Are there any risk on it. Thanks!

Once u migrated Datasource to 7.0 in Dev, after transport it will appear as 7.0 datasource.. No need to migrate there in Production...
in prod system, after replication datasource will have the inactive status..
Now U have to transport same datasource from BI DEV to BI PRD... And this will overwrite the replicated inactive datasource

RSDS 197 error in datasource transport

Hi Guys,
I am transporting a datasource and i am receiving next message:
rsds197- Field name use two underscores reserved for navigational attributes.
However, the transport was done, i saw the changes, but when I try re-transport the message remain.
Have this some other impact in the datasource?

Hi,
Have you tried to replicate DataSource (on RSA1, right button over data source and choose replicate data source)?
If does not work you can try to activate InfoSource using program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL (on SE38 run this program, fill the available fields and run).

For R3 DS
1)Create DS in R3 and Replicate in BW-Dev
2)Transport it R3 Qualty
3)Replicate in Bw-Quality
if it is LO datasource rthe Procdedure is Slightly Diff............
1)Goto LBWE or SMQ1 and clear the Queues
2)Clear Delta Queues in RSA7 and
3)then Transport the DS to Qualty.
4)Check whether the DS is iin active version in Quuality
For FlatFIle DS
1)Transport it to BW-Dev to BW -Quality and Activate.--No dependecy of R3.
Creation of Infopaks ........As a Standard Procedure ,Create in Dev and Transport from Dev to Quality or Production.
Else u can create the INfopaks in Quality and Prodcution too.

BW DataSource Transport

Hi Gurus,
We are in the process of transport of BW objects from Dev box to QA. We started with R/3 datasources and got that replicated in QA BW system. Now the next thing in the line is the transport of BW DataSources (not available in R/3 box) like 0REGION_TEXT or 0COUNTRY_TEXT that needs to be made available in QA before we transport requests for InfoObjects, InfoArea, etc. We have created a single transportable package ZNEW for all the BW objects. However, these DataSources have the package BUPA_EXT (not $TMP or not Blank) assigned to it. I am not sure, if BUPA_EXT is a standard package.
We also have assigned few of these BW datasources to ZNEW.
On transporting these to QA (and of course, importing it later), we dont see those in QA except is RSA5. I checked in the QA. This is not even available under the DataSource tree for the BW logical source system. How do we have them activated or transported in QA?
Just to add to the above, the Data files and co files were not created in the OS level during transport.

Hi,
One other thing you can try to do, is to goto your infosources, and try to assign a DS to that. See if you get the value of the DS you are looking for, for the respective info source.
Also, check the transport request itself, if it was successful or whether it failed with some error or had any warnings as well.

Replicated datasources transportation

i have created TR for all the datasources (3 generic and 1std(3.5)) in ecc DEV.I ahve also created TR for replicated datasources for the above in BWDev.
so, once the ECC DEV to ECCQA moves , DO I NEED TO REPLICATE THE DATA SOURCES AS I HAVE GOT REPLICATED DATAOUSRCES IN BWD ev?
2. what would happen if i manually replicate the datas soruces in BWQA, then transport replicated datasources from BWD evto BWQA
3. if i need not activate manually the datasoruce in ECCQA, then i should wait for the replicated datasources to reach BWQA, and then only transport other request?
4. how to transport ONLY PSA? what are the necessary steps to be taken?

There is no harm in replicating the datasource in BI QA box...once you replicate them to get them activated you can send the transport request...
ARE u saying that after manually replicating in BIQA, the replicated datasources request from BIDEV to BIQA would activate the dataosources in BIQA?
Even if you dont replicate and send the replicated request it will do.
What i understand is that i can simply transport the ECC request to ECCQA , then just transport the replicated datasources from BIDEV t BIQA for replicating the datasources and then after this all the other BI requests should be imported?
my concern is that if i manually replicate the datasources in BIQ, then start importing all the BI request and i ahve got first 3 replicated datasources followed by other requests. so ,after the manual activation, once these replicated datasources moves, should i wait for reactivation of all the datasources and only then transport request of the transports?

Hi,
Which Source System (DB-Connect) is connected to your BW QA system. You have maintain Source system mappings for datasource transports
AWB --> Tools --> Mapping of the source system names..
Once you have configured this screen, you would be able to transport your datasource.
