Date-Variable shows weird values in CR

Hello there.
Executing a Crystal Report based on an SAP Query from Infoview, a variable to restrict the dates is shown in a very weird syntax:
%5B%2FGSD%2FZM_DATENT%5D.%5B20090701%5D
This is shown in the input field. The variable name is /GSD/ZM_DATENT which can be partly recognized. The value 07/01/2009 (MM/DD/JJJJ) can also be found. The variable itself is defined in SAP Query as an mandatory interval under characteristic restrictions.
Can anyone provide help?

Hi check the varaibles by giving ur tech.name of report input parameter to the below program,
RSRQ_QUERYDEFINITION
it will all the query details. So you can find ur varaibles where it is used exactly.

Hi Experts,
I have a variable screen,
User can key in Target Currency, and Month.
Say,
(Scenario 1) User keys in Target Currency "MYR", and Month "4"
The report will show
Jan| Feb| March| April| May| June| ...
2| 3| 5| 7| 0| 0| 0 ...
This is correct.
(Scenario 2) User keys in Target Currency "USD", and Month "4"
The report will show
Jan| Feb| March| April| May| June| ...
2| 3| 5| 7| 3| 5| 7 ...
This is wrong, should not show figures for month May and onwards.
(Scenario 3) User keys in Target Currency "SGD", and Month "4"
The report will show
Jan| Feb| March| April| May| June| ...
1| 2| 3| 4| 0| 0| 0 ...
This is correct.
*In the infoprovider, the key figure is tied to currency "MYR".
In developement system, i replicated the exchange rate table, and the problem (Scenario 2) is solved.
In test system, i replicated the exchange rate table, and the problem (Scenario 2) is still there.
I am not sure what is happening here.

There appear to be two factors happening here.. one is how you have your query restrictions set up, and the other is the currency translation method that you are using. What results a currency translation provides depends on both the translation key definition AND the availability of a valid currency translation for the appropriate period.
First, review transaction RSCUR and see how your currency translation is defined.
Then review transaction oB08 and see if there is a valid currency conversion factor during the affected time.
Once you're certain all that is correct, review your query and how it is functioning. The fact that you wish to display months for which you do not wish to return data seems to indicate your 0CALMONTH2 restriction is not set up properly.

Data Viewer Shows Most Values as "Missing LineageID"

I suspect that this happens after a lot of editing of the package and automatic re-mapping of columns by name. It can render the data viewer almost useless. I tried the obvious, deleting and re-creating the data viewer, expecting it to fix the problem, but it didn't.
Also, on my computer at least, the package no longer pauses at a Data Viewer. The data is shown but the package keeps executing, I assume that there is a property somewhere that changes this behaviour but I don't recall changing it.

Well, that seems to be the case with me. My dataviewers are in child packages (that are controlled by parent package variables).
If I run the child package on its own, then the flow stops at the dataviewer as expected and the contents are all dislayed properly.
If I run the parent package, the problem manifests itself in the child package. This does not matter if it is the only child package being run or if it is one of several.
Very disappointing. It's a shame these forums don't have another button instead of answered. Such as "problem identified". There's a lot of difference between "answered and workaround/solution identified" and "answered; yes it's a problem and you are SOL

Query on virtual cube showing incorrect values

Experts,
I have create a virtual cube on a base cube using services (info-source). both virtual as well base cube are z-development and are in BI.
Base cube has 6 records, now when I check data in virtual cube using display data it shows correct values based on routine written in virtual cube transformation.
Problem is when I created query on this virtual cube it doesnt show correct data or sometime no applicable data. After debugging I found, in end routine itself result package contains records with blank values in it on which I have written routine. But it does this only while executing query not when I display data in cube.

LSMW - Read Data not showing in Converted Data

Hi,
I am using LSMW to load data from a flat file (via recording). I have it working except I have one issue. When I display the data in read data all fields are showing. No errors popup when I select convert data. When I select display converted data the last few fields are missing. Any ideas why or how to fix this?
Any help is appreciated as I do not know how to proceed.

Currently I am also facing the same problem. In "display read data" it is showing all the field values. No error msg in "convert data". But only 2 fields are displaying in "display converted data". not showing any values in rest of the fields. Kindly suggest me how you fixed this problem

Show date variable in WAD Template.

HI,
I want to be able to show the date variable in WAD template. To do this I used the info field web item. This web item has the option to show variables which is great, but unfortunatly for me it also shows all the other variables I am using. I can not see anywhere where I can restrict it to only show the date variable.
Does anyone know how I can do this or is it something I would have to do query side.

Hi Forhad,
Yes you can show the date var alone, for this you would have to choose the specific date var under Data Binding -> List of Text Elements to display -> Text Element Type = Variable Value, Variable = (select the date var from the available list).
You may also turn off the Static Variables & Dynamic Variables if required.

Calendar Year variable is not showing listed values

I have a query which I am running based on the standard variable ( 0CALYEAR ) input. When I run first time it shows the list of values in the selection editor and displays the result. But after executing when I am trying to change filter values in the output, it doesn't show list values as well if I enter manually, I am not getting the result. I am getting out put no data available....
I created new variables on 0CALYEAR info object, but same problem. My query structure is
In rows I just defined Calendar Year / Month ( so that I can get all months for that user entered Year ).
In Columns I defined one Key Figure.

explain the exact problem..? as you mentioned you want to create query to show values for current month and last 12 months.. so I think you want to show values for 12 months from current data.. you can achive this by multiple way..
you can have selection screen and field with date .. and restrict based on system current date and 12 months before or you can handle this at your target.. .. I mean there are multiple ways to restrict data by date range..

the above code shows reverse values of date on date axis i.e it should show 01/05 2/05 3/05 4/05 but its showing 10/05 09/05 08/05 07/05 on date axis.
Please help.

I've seen this bug in Adobe's JIRA so nothing much you can do for now DateTimeAxis is quite bugged.
By the way, is it me or mx:datavisu is on low priority these days ? Maybe the team is working on a spark version ?

In my trace file and output file showing bind variable instead of value.
in my trace file 20 queries.
I alse set this parameter in session level.
alter session set events '10046 trace name context forever, level 4';
but still showing traceoutput file bind variable.
Pls help its very urgent

Can you post the query for which the bind variable values are not being shown and the trace output for the same?
Probably it is listed down somewhere when you actually executed the query among the others. Try completely analyzing your trace file..

Formula is showing wrong values for dates

Hi i have document date and clear date
number of days is clear date -doc date
my doc date : 10/28/2008
my clear date : 11/24/2008
i have create 2 formula variabes ( at columns i want bring my characters)
nexti have written formula ( variable for clear date- variable for doc date)
but this variable are shwoing data format like
c1 (variable for clear date) : 20,081,124
c2 ( variable for doc date) : 20,081,028
formula c1-c2 is shwoing 96 days actaully original date format (11/24/2008-10/28/2008) i will get less than 30 days.
please let me know how to solve this issues

I m giving you the detailed steps here so as to clear any doubts...
1. In the new formula window right click on Formula Variable and choose New Variable
2. Enter the Variable Name, Description and select Replacement Path in the Processing by field.
Click the Next Button
3. In the Characteristic screen, select the date characteristic that represents the first date to use in the calculation
4. In the Replacement Path screen select Key in the Replace Variable with field. Leave all the other options as they are (The offset values will be set automatically).
5. In the Currencies and Units screen select Date as the Dimension ID
Repeat the same steps to create a formula variable for second date and use them in the calculation.
Follow these steps and your problem will be solved for sure.

Env variable for custom top showing diffent values

hi,
we cloned the prod to UAT then the
value for env variable for custom top showing different values.
ie,
backend it is showing
echo $XXECO_TOP
/oracle/UAT/apps/apps_st/appl/xxeco/12.0.0 (this is the correct value)
from the front end when we submit the "print environment variable" concurrent request it shows the following incorrect value
/dev/oracle/app/oraprod/apps/apps_st/appl/xxeco/12.0.0 (this is prod value)
please let us know how to correct the value

Hi,
it depends if your input is already parsed and how you want to set the time (hours, etc.).
Two sample ways :
        String s = "09/22/2006";
        SimpleDateFormat sd = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yyyy");
        Date date1 = sd.parse(s);
        Calendar c = Calendar.getInstance();
        c.set(2006, 8, 22); //month is zero based
        Date date2 = c.getTime();
Btw for basic java programming I would suggest searching for some java tutorials on the net and reading on your own instead of posting in forums. At least for me that is better way to learn.

'Show Null Values as' variables not replaced

I need the null values to display as small as possible so there is an image in my image repository, 1x1px, transparent, that I wanted to display in these null places, but when I inserted something like <img src="&COMPANY_IMAGES.null.gif"> or <img src="#COMPANY_IMAGES#null.gif">, the COMPANY_IMAGES was not replaced with the usual long call, it was just like inserted in the 'Show Null Values as' field.
I have workarounds
1) use a static image, that is publicly available - making the app's appearance dependant on that publicly available image.
2) select columns with nvl(NULLABLE_COL, '<img src="#COMPANY_IMAGES#null.gif">'), which is just a thing, that could be easily forgotten in some place and makes the query even more obscure than it already is.
I really like neither of them. Is there some other way to call COMPANY_IMAGES in that field or is it just a place where isn't the substitution string available?

wow. you're right about that substitution not being made in that "Show Null Values as" field. i'll log that issue in a sec. you can work around the issue for now by simply doing that substitution yourself. so if you run this...
select :WORKSPACE_IMAGES FROM DUAL
...from your sqlWorkshop, you'll see that WORKSPACE_IMAGES is substituted with a call like...
wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=123456&p_fname=
...(where 123456 is my :WORKSPACE_ID). if you wanted to call an image called my_image.jpg in that "Show Null Values as" field, you could just enter the string...
wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=123456&p_fname=my_image.jpg
...right in there, and you'd find your images rendered correctly. the only thing to watch out for is the hard-coded :WORKSPACE_ID in your field. you'd have to mind at number if you deployed your app in a different workspace.

Looking for Calendar functionality for a Date Variable

Hi Experts,
Currently iam creating a WEBI Report where the source system is SAP BI System. I have a BEx Query with some characteristics at the row level and keyfigures at the column level. I have a Date Interval Variable (Based on 0DATE and optional), where the user will input the From and To date to execute the query. I have created the universe on top of this query, but date inteval variable appears as a character in the form of LOV. When i use this universe and buid the report in WEBI, the User Prompt for date is appearing as List of date values for this date interval variable, where as my requirement is to have date calendar for this date interval variable.
I did some r&d on top of this, when the date varibale as single value and optional, iam able to get the date calendar, but when i use the Date interval Varibale it takes as a character. I searched the forum, but i didn't find any solution.
Is it possible to have a date calendar for a date interval variable in BEx?? or its is only for single value date varibale.

you stated it correctly that the calendar shows up in case of a keydate and in case of a single value but not in case of a range.
in addition the underlying characteristic needs to be type DATS
