DB link related

In database b, I have a synonym created as below
CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM SCHEMA1.T_H FOR SCHEMA2.T_H
In database A, I am accessing the table of database b using a db link BTR as below
create database link BTR
connect to SCHEMA1
SID=122
etc...
I am accessing the table using the below query as follows:
===========================================
select * from T_H@BTR
Will there be any error for the above query in the database A
where SCHEMA1 & SCHEMA2 are present in the same database B
Thanks in advance

There shouldn't be an error.
Have you tried it? Are you actually getting an error?

  • Links relative to HTTP address ?

I'm using DW8 and I'm trying to find a way that DW8 can
create links relative to an http address.
For example, if I move an image in the local site to the html
page the html code will show something like the following:
    <img src="/images/image1.gif"
What I need is that when I move the image it creates a line
    like the following:
    <img src="
    http://mywebsite.com/images/image1.gif"
I checked everywhere and I cannot find how to do this on DW8.
Inside the site settings I have the http address specify but that
dopesnt work. That only works for site relative links.
    Any inputs?

    No way, Jose. Sorry....

  • Moving a site with links relative to site root

    hi:
we have a dedicated server (Linux, Apache) with several
    virtual hosts:
    /vhost/site01/home/html/
    /vhost/site02/home/html/
now, i need to add some sites (developed by other people and
    working in
their own servers) as "microsites" inside site01. so i
    created a folder
named microsites and a subfolder for each one:
    /vhost/site01/home/html/microsites/xxx/
    /vhost/site01/home/html/microsites/yyy/
and a FTP account for each developer
the problem is that one of them (HTML, Flash & a lot of
    Perl scripts)
was developed using links relative to site root so, they
    don't work anymore
besides changing every link to the new path, any other way to
    solve the
problem? perphaps on server sidewith a directive on a
    .htaccess file or
    in httpd.conf?

Haven't used it since the DWMX time frame and that was only
for some quick testing, but an extension named Relativity can be
run site wide to change from one type to another:

  • "Link relative to" can't be changed.

I can't change only "Link relative to" setting in Site Setup window. Any changes in other settings are applied, but this setting is restored after saving it.
I asked adobe support, and tried all FAQs, reinstall by installer.
    Nothing has been changed.
    This happened few weeks ago.
Before that, I could normally set this (I usually set this as "Site Root"). Now I have to change file pathes manually.
I almost gave up this problem, but I hope anyone have clue for this.
    I even tried editing the file "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CC/cloudpref/AdobeDreamweaverSettingsSiteDefs.xml".
I changed "relativeTo" in localinfo directive, but DW ignores this or overwrites the file after launch.
I guess this has been caused since Cloud Sync was implemented.

    Thank you for your advice.
I provide correct http adress the field under "Link relative to".
I have been using this feature / setting for a long time and had nothing wrong in my lots of site settings before.
In other site settings which were set as "Document", those also can't be set to "Site root"...
Only this setting is disabled now.

  • Linking relational data to folders in XMLDB Repository by using metadata

    Hi,
We want to use the XML DB Repository to store documents (PDF, Word, etc) belonging to customers, dossiers of customers, invoices of customers, etc. To accomplish this we are thinking of a folder hierarchy with the first level being customer folders, the second level dossier / invoice folders and within each of these folders the relevant documents / other folders. When querying a customer by sql, we want to determine the correct folder in the repository by storing the primary key of the customer row as user meta data to that folder. After this we get the folders and documents under this folder with the under_path function. Some folders represent a dossier / invoice folder and with this folder the primary key of the dossier / invoice is stored via meta data. While querying these folders by using sql we want to retrieve additional info which is stored in the relational tables: Customer info within a customer table, dossier info within a dossier table, invoice info with an invoice table, etc. Theoretically all available info must be retrieved, so this info preferably must not be stored as metadata (only the primary key and type to these rows and tables).
My question: Is this the right way to go or are we going to face problems with this architecture? Is there a need to store all info as metadata or can it be done as I describe? So we want to link info from different tables to folders / documents in the repository. Because each folder can have metadata pointing to different tables we are facing (even with a small data set) performance issues. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Here's an example, tell me if this is what you need.
Setup : the following creates a table to store a specific type of metadata, two folders, and finally creates a resource (JPEG image) and its associated metadata :
    SQL> create table character_metadata (
      2    character_id   number(6)
      3  , character_name varchar2(80)
      4  , origin         varchar2(80)

      4    v_metadata_id  character_metadata.character_id%type;
      5    res            boolean;

  • External Link - relative url

We recently upgraded from CM Patch 4 to Patch 28.  We have some KM External Link the point to iViews and we used the syntax /irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/etc ....
This worked fine in Patch 4, but now is expecting the http://server/ name to be included?  Has anybody else encountered this?
Does anybody know of an alias I can use, e.g. - http://servername/irj/etc ...?

    HiJulian,
Sorry I didn't explain the problem well enough the first time.
An example is that I have an iView to an ESS transaction, but we wanted to be able to view it among other KM content.  We did this by geting the URL of the iView, creating an external link in the KM folder pointing to the iView on the same server.  To make it easier to move content bewtwen Dev,QA,and Prod, we used the relative URL's starting with /irj/etc...
In Patch4, this worked fine and it picked up the http://servername just fine.
Now in Patch28, the resulting URL looks like http:///irj with the servername missing.
    Thanks,
    Mike Shroyer

  • Listing product numbers and linking related pdf

I need to create a web page that just lists our product
numbers and link a pdf for each. We are having problems with our
original website where no changes can be made (including pricing).
I am building a new one and although I have our shopping cart 90%
complete, this company wants a list to go up with the home page so
we can take the other site down while I continue building the
proper remaining pages for our site. I can copy and paste my
product numbers into DW, though I will have to go in an link a pdf
to each. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

You're right the copy and paste is easy, but I don't know how
to get the PDF's linked without doing each one individually...
which isn't difficult, just time consuming and mind numbing. I was
hoping for suggestions as to the easiest way to bring the data into
DW, whether it was copy and paste or to import a .csv or another
avenue that I'm not aware of. Additionally, if there's an easier
    way to link 150+ PDF's.
Because I'm new to DW (building my first website), I also
don't have the knowledge of the best way to set up that temporary
page. At this minute I merely created a blank HTML page and created
a table, then I imported a product .csv file to fill that table.
When I launched both Safari & FF, the products look fine in
their columns and rows along with the few PDF's that I linked.

  • How to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both?

See details on buggy DW image link behavior, below. My question is:
    1) how to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both? Or…
    2) how to reliably automate the change of several hundred legacy root-relative links of the form
    /images/image.jpg  to document-relative?
    That is, to
    ../images/image.jpg or
    ../../images/image.jpg or
../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
/public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link?  I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.
Summary of buggy behavior: (see test with images here)
    "old style" site root link
          /images/img_book/WScover120x150_NEW.jpg
Design veiw in DW: broken (grey w/ broken icon)
Link check in DW: "external link" (i.e., uncheckable, + file could appear orphaned)
          Browser: good
Ease of switching: n/a (existing format)
"new style" site root relative link
          /public_html/images/img_book/WScover120x150_NEW.jpg
          Design veiw in DW: good
          Link check in DW: good
          Browser: broken
          Ease of switching: easy
    Document relative link
          ../../images/img_book/WScover120x150_NEW.jpg
          Design veiw in DW: good
          Link check in DW: good
          Browser: good
Ease of switching: hard (how to automate?)

    Similar discussion on "/"

    Hello again Jon!
    Thanks for jumping on this.
All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
"/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url,  which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!
    Art
PS--don't  have a local testing server...don't think this will solve the GUI broken link/ link shows as external problems.
Is there an easy, automated way to change links sitewide from document to root relative?

  • Templates and document relative linking.

Im trial using DW cs5 and find that if i make a template and then
use that template to make pages it doesnt make document relative links.
Instead it makes links relative to my local drive. ie c/documents/foo.
Even if I have the template file with document relative links, when I make the page it turns into local relative and to upload this to a server wont work.
    Am I missing something ?
    I can figure it out.
    CS4 did this fairly easy.
    Cheers

I dont know how to fix this.
My site is set to relative document linking and the template is linked that way but when I make a new page from template it reverts to local linking.
    instead of ../../ images , I get c://documents/ etc.
I dont know whats going on.
