DB_VERSION_MISMATCH error every day

Every day when I run my test.pl program for the first time, I see this:
DbEnv::open: DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatch in test.pl,
line 35
The docs say that this error means "The version of the Berkeley DB library doesn't match the version that created the database environment". But I haven't changed my BDB XML installation.
If I delete all the files in my test database directory and reload my test data, everything is fine. I can run my test program again and again all day long. But when I come in next morning, I get the error! This is the code I'm using:
    my $ENVIRONMENT = 'test-env';
    my $ENV_FLAGS   = Db::DB_CREATE | Db::DB_INIT_LOCK | Db::DB_INIT_LOG
                        | Db::DB_INIT_MPOOL | Db::DB_INIT_TXN;
    my $env = new DbEnv;
x eval { $env->open($ENVIRONMENT, $ENV_FLAGS, 0) };'x' is just a function that traps the exception. Line 35 is the line with the open() call.
Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks, Dave

Could your installation be picking up another version
— probably preexisting — of the Berkeley DB libs?Good thought. I've done some digging.
There are two versions of Berkeley DB already installed on my system, according to YaST: 4.3.27-3.1 and 1.85-89. I don't want to interfere with those because I don't know what might be using them. Then there's the version which came with the dbxml I downloaded: 4.3.29, which is presently under /opt/berkeley
I seem to be picking up 4.3.29. When I run /opt/berkeley/bin/db_verify -V it says "Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB 4.3.29: (September 6, 2005)". While if I run /usr/bin/db_verify -V it says "Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB 4.3.27: (June 1, 2005)" but both are supposedly compatible with the current dbxml release, according to the release notes.
If I run /opt/berkeley/bin/dbxml -h test-env-old (i.e. using yesterday's data) it says
Program version 4.3 doesn't match environment version
Error opening environment test-env-old: DbEnv::open:
DB_VERSION_MISMATCH: Database environment version mismatchbut rather annoyingly doesn't tell me what version it thinks the data is!!!
dbxml is happy with a new test-env database that I've created today in Perl.
I haven't found any way to find out what version the data in test-env-old thinks it is. Is there some utility that will do this? I tried looking in the files but didn't spot anything.
That dbxml behaves the same as my test program seems to eliminate some Perl artefact as the source of this problem but in case it's useful to you or some Sleepycat person, I added a call to DbXml::printVersionInfo() to my test program, which duly reports:
perl  : 5.008006
dbxml : Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB XML 2.2.13: (December 19, 2005)
db    : Sleepycat Software: Berkeley DB 4.3.29: (September  6, 2005)
xerces: whateverso it seems to be finding the right db library.
I've seen that happen elsewhere. Usually it results
in a library compatibility error though, rather than
a database version error.Any other ideas? I really appreciate all the help you're giving me.
This is a minor nuisance while I'm testing, but it's a complete showstopper for using dbxml in production, of course.

  • HT4528 get a no sim error every day

after updating to 6.1.4 about once per day y iphone loses its SIM the carrier area says "no sim" and the screen says "no sim found"
when I reset it I get to verizon and all is fine for another day.

Take out the SIM and clean it (a pencil eraser is the best tool, but get all of the rubber particles off), then re-insert it. If that doesn't resolve the problem get a new SIM from Verizon.

Been getting rdk 03032 errors every day for the past week multiple times a day. I've had to reboot the X1 box multiple times each time, sometimes reboot the cable modem.  This is getting crazy. I had a tech come out and do the install of the X1  back in July and the signals were checked then so I don't think the signals were bad.  Any advice as to what I need to do?

Signals change, weather changes, equipment breaks down...  your best bet is to get a TECH back out to take a look at why you are losing connectivity so often... You can take a snapshot of your signal levels when the system is running poorly by going into System Diagnostics and finding your Upstream Power level, Downstream Power level and SNR...   Post those levels here for others to see and comment on.

Why does my itunes crash after start up with an "APPCRASH" error every time i open it?! I have been trying to fix this for weeks but all i can do it re-install it every other day which does nothing! I am desperate to get access to my itunes to get music on my phone and all of this just makes me want me to sell my iphone since there is no other way to add music to my phone. If things go get sorted soon you can say goodbye to my support.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I have CS2 and I use it almost every day.. Today when I tried to launch it, a prompt came up saying my Activation was no longer valid and it closed automatically.  Then when I tried to re-open it, a prompt came up saying "A serious error has occured"  Please re-install the software...  I have no idea where my software is... That was many many years ago?  HELP!!

When you go to the download page, you must do two things:
Download this file: PhSp_CS2_English.exe on the download page.
Use the serial number on the download page in order to install your non-activation copy.
Do not use your old CD or serial number. It no longer works.
If you have Windows 7, the advice is to turn off UAC and run the installer as Administrator.

Every time I try to shut down my computer Firefox prevents it. I haven't updated Firefox yet, so it's an older program, but only by a month or two. What's going on and how do I fix it?

This is the first time it's ever happened. I downloaded the new operating system for Firefox but I can't install it until the Firefox currently running on my laptop quits, which it won't.

  • Process chains problems : Working every day with error (red)

    Hi All,
I have a next question, about process chains problem.
When I start my process chains immediate, then working without errors,  but I want this process chains work every day and chainged properties, selected date/time and periodicaly (every day) but now it work with error.
How to I find problems? What are yours offers?
p.s. I see logs, but every day have diffence between errors.
    Regards,
    Mahir M. Quluzade

    HI,
just check the time which you have given is OK or is overlappintg with some other job which is locking your table in process chain
or is colliding with attribute change run
or it fails because of lack of background processes.
There could be numerious reasons and you need to analyze the log for this.
But as you said the job is failing everday for different reasons..try to find the most common errors and try to remove it or mention that here.
    Thanks

  • Mac Pro turns itself on every day at the same time

My Mac Pro suddenly decided to start turning itself on every day at 6:00:12pm local time (12:00:12AM GMT). It turns on at exactly 12 seconds after 6:00pm every day.
I recently upgraded to OSX 10.5 and installed the point update. It did it before the point update and continues to after the point update.
I have had it since April and it has never done this before. It did NOT do this under 10.4.
I have the options in system settings to NOT wake on LAN event and NOT restart after power failure. It is NOT set to automatically turn on but it is set to automatically turn itself off at 1:00am.
These settings have not changed since 10.4 and I have verified them. No other software has recently been installed since the update to 10.5. I did update the Wacom driver to the new Leopard driver. That is all. I have the Wacom tablet unplugged from the computer.
    Any ideas?
Here is the console log from yesterday. It pretty much looks the same every day.

Updates installed by Software Update are "delta" updates - they go from 10.x.y to 10.x.y+1, and are customized for a particular Mac model. It appears that in this case they also patch some files instead of replacing them fully. The "combo" update will update 10.x.anything to the latest 10.x.y, it'll update any Mac model, and in this case it appears they contain full files instead of patches. The delta updater for 10.5.1 is about 39 MB; the combo updater is about 110 MB. You can download the combo updater from the Support site. Sites such as www.macfixit.com often recommend installing the combo updater instead of, or after, the delta updater, as it often solves mysterious problems. One specific example is the numerous "SUID" messages when doing a "repair permissions" - the combo update gets rid of all but one, and that one is specifically stated by Apple to be okay. Of course, no guarantees, but the combo updater is a reasonable thing to try.

  • Outlook and owa freezes every day, sometimes at the same time

    Hello,
I have very strange problem! 2 users complain that the outlook hangs every day, approximately at the same time. But other 200 users work fine. I can't see any error on the mail servers ( two servers exchange 2010 sp 3 with dag) Outlook can hangs for 15 min
with user, who has mailbox 1,5 Gb and about 3-5 min with user, who has mailbox 150 Mb.
When outlook hangs, owa logon also hangs and then they start working simultaneously.
It doesn't depend on the server where I try to run owa. I tried to move mailbox to new database, but it didn't resolve my problem.
There are no any scheduled tasks on exchange servers at this time. No performans issues. Maybe some problems of connectivity with AD, but I don't see any suspicious event.

    Hi,
It sounds like mailbox curroption. I'd suggest you move those two mailboxes to another mailbox database, and then try againt to see if this works.
We may also try New-MailboxRepairRequest. For more information, please refer to:

  • What's the power of spending more time every day in your IT career ?

What's the power of spending more time every day in your IT career ?
When you do the research to find the factors of the successful people, you'll find that they ALWAYS spent a lot of time every day in their businesses.
The IT technologies change so fast and explode. The performance of IT people with 20 years experiences can be EASILY catched up by a IT people, maybe you, who has only 6 or 7 years or even less if you spend over 80 hours or even more every week on your job and on the latest technologies.
    The reasons are listed below:
    1. The out-of-date IT technologies is no use anymore. It's like the out-of-date IT books. The people with 20 years experience can't rely on his last experience any more.
    2. If you spend 80 hours every week, you'll absorb doubled the knowledge and experience than the people who spends only 40 hours every week. You may catch up with him who has 20 years experiences with your 10 years experiences. Not only this, most of your knowledge and experiences are newer and useful than his.
    3. Because you spend 80 hours, you have plenty of time to focus on your tasks. When the task comes in, you may finish your tasks many times faster than him and you may be the only person who still has the time to do any extra or urgent tasks. Because you have more time, you may prepare your next task to be ready to finish your next task even faster and you may absorb the latest IT technologies from a learner level to an expert level while other people is still doing his tasks. And due to your more spare time to learn the technologies all the time needed to do your task, you have much more knowledge needed to do your task and can finish your task much faster than others.
According to my experience, if the comparison of the knowledge the worker has is 1 to 5, the real hours needed to finish a task may be 1 to 10. In IT field, if you know how to do it, you need minutes, but if you don't know how to do it, you need months to do the error-try or starting to learn it and do it. Please notice that the knowledge can be used for many times and the 1 to 5 and 1 to 10 comparisons will repeat again and again. Without spending more time on getting more knowledge, the comparison of 1 to 10 is still happening.
    4. Like trying to save the money, most of his 40 hours will be spent on his tasks. He may have only 5 hours left to learn new IT technologies. If you still need to spend the same time to finish your tasks like him, you still will have 45 hours to learn new technologies. You grow 9 times, 5 hours to 45 hours, faster than him. If you keep working and learning the new IT technologies 80 hours every week, you'll find that you'll need much less than 35 hours like him, you may have 60 or even more hours every week to do more tasks to get more experiences and to learn more latest technologies.
----- Someone asked me after read the above "You're absolutely right, but, what motivation can make people do that ?". I told him that "Don't ask me. Ask your boss" -----

    1) LabVIEW is a graphical based programming environment and
LabWindows/CVI is a C based programming environment.  Both can be used
for similar tasks.  Users familiar with C may prefer CVI.  LabVIEW is
typically easier to learn if you are unfamiliar with both.
     2)
The Run-Time Engine is a separate component that can be installed to
execute LabWindows/CVI programs and LabVIEW programs.  It is free of
charge for both LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI.
    3)
LabWindows/CVI does not convert any LabVIEW programs into C code.
LabVIEW programs are already compiled as you write them, so you won't
need to convert them to C to use them.  You should see similar
performance in similar LabVIEW and CVI code.

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Exchange Correlation Service , we receive almost at every day in the Event log Application the Event720

    HI
Since the SCOM was Upgrade to R2
Almost at every Day, we receive in the Event log application the Event 720 from the correlation service Source MSExchangeMonitoring Correlation
This arrives always around 7:20AM, someday is at 7:19, other at 7:21. It is always approximately at the same hour, but we never have any problem during weekend
    The description of the Event
Exceeded maximum time (15 minutes) to wait for completion of all CorrelateBatchTask threads.
After that the correlation stop to work. At the Same time if we tried to open the SCOM Console on that server we was unable to open it. Also we was not able to open the SCOM PowerShell
And also we cannot from that server to get which server is the RMS if we run get-SCOMRMSEmulator .  (This the RMS Server)
When this arrive, the only thing we found, it to reboot the server or restart de SCOM service, after the Reboot the Correlation begin to work
We got also many Event 714 Critical and after this Event 711 Warning
    Thank

    Have a look at: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/e75e84d9-0c9e-4d83-b3da-45a143757f85/exchange-2010-monitoring-with-scom-2012-correlation-service-issue
One user reported an issue with the exchange correlation engine after upgrade and said that:
I had issues with the corellation engine after upgrading scom 2012 to R2.
The MomBidLdr.dll version changed in the SCOM directories, and needs to be updated in the:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\v14\Bin directory.
That seemed to stop the errors for me.
Some troubleshooting steps listed here also:

The new firefox twitter app (mini tab on left of page) is great - except it disappears every time I shut down the computer and I have to remove and then reinstall it every day!?? It won't appear on the page until I do. I am working on an iMac - if that is causing the problem ...? Thanks.

Eustace, thank you so much for writing back.  I will try what you suggested!!
thx for your reply - apparently when I went to the Apple store a long time ago, they restore maybe photos and itunes etc from my external hard drive (passport).  I guess at that time they reinstalled an earlier operating system than my macbook came with and that somehow corrupted FileVault.  apparently there was no sparse bundle (whatever that is) for my old admin account and they said that ever since the install of the older OS that it was actually NEVER backing up anything in my admin account.
Then, I bought Time Capsule and starting backing up to that instead.  I started having problems with it being slow etc and then StartUp Disk full errors and didn't know what to do, so I "Restored" from Time Capsule and that's when I lost everything in my Admin account and was locked out when I tried to log in - it said File Vault error ..."
anyway - that's THAT sad story.  I was told to create a new admin account and I've basically been trying to start over - even though I have a partial save of my computer in Crash Plan and I DO see a sparse bundle listed in there, but I just don't know enough about computers to know if it's something I can get back or if I am just totally doomed.
I'm afraid to reinstall anything because if there is even a remote shot that the other files are still floating around in my computer, I feel like that chance will be shot forever.  I need to hire McGee from NCIS, I just KNOW he could get those files back for me!!!
