DBUA fails due to broken DBA_SEGMENTS view during 10.1.0.4 - 10.2.0.2 upgr

Hi,
I'm upgrading 10.1.0.4 to 10.2.0.2 by cloning a 10.2.0.2 ORACLE_HOME
(runInstaller -clone), running the pre-upgrade info tool (utl102i.sql) and finally
running the dbua.
Once I select the database to upgrade and then Next>, the dbua GUI reports
"ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06512: at line 2509 "
I tracked this down to the file utl102x.sql, 2509 lines down from DECLARE
which reads
" -- Get number of kbytes used
SELECT SUM(bytes) INTO sum_bytes
FROM dba_segments seg
WHERE seg.tablespace_name = ts.tablespace_name;
Within 10.1.0.4 'select sum(bytes) from dba_segments;' works but within
10.2.0.2 the same statement returns the ORA-00942 error and a message to
the effect that there is an error in the recursive SQL. Within the instance
being upgraded 'select count(1) from dba_segments;' returns the number
of rows.
Has anyone seen this or does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?
Thanks,
Darren

The manual upgrade procedure works and the DBA_SEGMENTS view is fine
following @catupgd and before SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE.

  • EAP-TLS or PEAP authentication failed due to unknown CA certificate during SSL handshake

    Hi All ,
                 I am trying to test EAP_TLS authentication on acs 4.2.1.15 running on Appliance 1120 , I have installed my server certficate along with CA certficate on my appliance box , I have enabled features of  EAP_TLS under golbal authentication setup .
                 I have downloaded client supplicant certficate file for my windows XP machine .
    When i tried to authenticated i am finding following error message under  failed attempts(EAP-TLS or PEAP authentication failed due to unknown CA certificate during SSL handshake) on my acs appliance box .
    Under certficate revocation list , I have forced my CA as CRL in use . Attached snap shot of all .
    Suggest me whether i need to enable all corresponding CA certficate undercertficate trust list , Kindly let me know were i am doing wrong on this ..

    Hello,
    I am NO expert on certificates but I have seen your error dozens of times from wireless clients on my Cisco ACS 4.2 Radius server.
    Through trial and error I wrote up this procedure for our Helpdesk for installing certs in Windows XP and Windows 7. These steps haven't failed me yet and the Helpdesk doesn't bother me as much anymore so see if this helps you:
    -          Manually install the Global CA under BOTH Trusted Root Certification Authorities\Certificates AND Intermediate Certification                      Authorities\Certificates
    -          Manually install the Intermediate CA under JUST the Intermediate Certification Authorities\Certificates
    -          Delete the wireless network from the computer
    -          REBOOT!!
    -          Open the Microsoft Management Console, “mmc”.
    -          Go FILE\Add Remove SnapIn. Select Certificates ..
    -          If promoted, do it for “My User Account”.
    -          Make sure the certificates are where you put them.
    -          If you see any of these exact certificates out of place in either Trusted Root Certification Authorities\Certificates or Intermediate Certification                      Authorities\Certificates, remove them.
    -          Redo wireless network setup again
    I hope this helps you.

  • Assembly failed due to Broken DCs

    Hi All,
    I have around 8 activities which were waiting for import on cons, after importing them (remember cons is not configured for runtime systems) in the assembly stage for all the activities assembly failed. On checking i came to know the <b>track_cons</b> has 5 broken DC's.
    One SCA has 2 broken DC's
    Second SCA has 3 broken DC's, in this sca there is one DC which is showing failed in compile state. So the remaining 4 DC's using this DC are failed in the Usages section.
    But all the above is perfect in<b> track_dev</b>.
    Its very important i need to go ahead with transports.
    Points will definitely be awarded for solution, please help.
    Regards,
    Vishal D

    I have manually synced the code of track_dev and track_cons and now all the DC's are fine.
    But now on importing the sca to test my custom sca are not getting imported, i get the following error :"Info:Error during SDM deployment:communication error: Server <server host name> did not accept login request as apiadmin on port no. - Connection between SDM client and server is broken
    But the surprising part is the standard sca are getting imported such as "sap.com_SAP_JTECHS", " sap.com_SAP_BUILDT " and "sap.com_SAP-JEE"

  • Oracle BI Office Add-In for Excel (Failed to insert Oracle BI view due to )

    Dear all,
    I receive the following error message when I change the Prompts in Oracle BI Excel Add-In:
    Failed to insert Oracle BI view due to processing query error.
    I think it has something to do with the performance of the development database.
    Is there a configuration file and a parameter the eliminate this error message?
    Regards,
    Stefan

    I've seen this error occur when the Flash ActiveX control is not installed on the machine that is viewing the Excel content because the charts views use Flash. You can fix this by downloading the Shockwave Flash control from www.adobe.com

  • Installation failing due to invalid packages

    During installation of Oracle 10G designer the repository installation fails due to invalid packages. When I examine the packages they are failing to compile based on dependencies on dbms_lock. I am running against a fresh installation of 11g on the database. I verified that the package exists and a public synonym has been created but I cannot see the package from any other user aside from sys. (system cannot see the package).
    Is there anyway I can open up sys.dbms_lock to allow it to be used in compiling these objects?

    How did you create the repository?
    Did you follow the steps of the installation guide?
    In this guide you find the folloiwing statements:
    grant execute on dbms_rls to repos_owner;
    grant execute on dbms_lock to repos_owner;
    grant execute on dbms_pipe to repos_owner;
    grant create table to repos_owner;
    grant create view to repos_owner;
    grant create procedure to repos_owner;
    grant create synonym to repos_owner;
    grant create sequence to repos_owner;
    grant select on sys.v_$nls_parameters to repos_owner with grant option;
    grant select on sys.v_$parameter to repos_owner;
    grant select on dba_rollback_segs to repos_owner;
    grant select on dba_segments to repos_owner;
    grant create any synonym to repos_owner;
    grant drop any synonym to repos_owner;
    In the statement you will see that the dbms_lock package is granted to the repos_owner. (repos_owner is the username of the repository owner, if you installed under a different user use that username)

    If anyone is is intrested. I figured out the solution. In the Weblogic Console Located in the JDBC Data Sources. Added correct JNDI Name for Name: soademoDatabase which was jdbc/soademoDatabase. Redeploy and restart server. Works fine

    I think the "," that comes in the flat file. CHange the number fields in the file from ",". If it has 1000 separator remove them. You need not have them in the file. In your case i think the decimals are coming as ",". In that case change your user settings for decimal places and then try to load.
    Hope this helps

  • Tear down of include component context failed due to an unhandled exception

    My Application was developed with JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 . one of the page has a panel collection with simple table that fetch the data from a view object.
    filter and sorting are enabled for all columns.
    this page runs correctly on the integrated WLS server and on the standalone WLS of the same Fusion Middleware package on my pc.
    I've then deployed the ear file on two different WLS server with the same version. the panel collection with the table did not displayed, and found the error below in log files.
    Also after that error, the application does not accept any request, and I have to close the browser and start a new session.
    Error Details from the log :

    COULD SOMEONE GIVE ME A SOLUTION TO OVERCOME THIS.
    YOUR SOLUTION AND GREATELY APPRITIATED.
    REGARDS,
    DHANANJAY

    Hi Dhanajay,
    Firstly check if R3trans -d is working fine.
    If so, please chek if the following parameters are set properly.
    DIR_LIBRARY=/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run
    TRANSDIR = ....\trans
    <SID>/DBHOST = <HOSTNAME>
    <SID>/DBNAME = <SID>
    <SID>/DBTYPE = ora
    Execute the below command and check the transport profile:
    tp check all pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL
    Please confirm the permission of the /oracle/ directory
    The permission of the /oracle should be 755.
    Also check if the import queue is not locked.
    Also please ensure the Kernel is of latest version, if not, please update the DBSL shared library.Please look at the note 19466.
    Finally you can try once distributing and activating the transport routes once.
    When you executed command R3trans -d logfile trans.log will be created.
    Please check this file for exact error information.
    Paste the log file here.
    Let us know the outcome.
    Regards,
    Sujit.

  • Lync server call failed due to network issues

    hi,
    i receive an error while making a lync call to an internal user
    "call failed due to network issues"
    i have two ip's installed on My NIC but when i remove one ip of the ip's from
    my nic, everything seems to work fine.
    Kindly help

    Hello Matt,
    Hope you keeping well..!!
    We are communicating with external customers lync server through federation option setup on our corporate lync server.  We have received the federation setting from the customer with SIP address which has been setup on our corporate lync servers after
    that we were able to browse the customer contact through corporate lync account.
    We were also able to chat with external customer but however voice/video functionality are not working through same session.  Whenever we try to dial out external customer lync account it ended with error message "call ended due to network issue".
    We have checked the setting from corporate lync servers and network point of view but doesn't find any issue which cause the disconnection to voice/video over lync.  Could you pl help or guide with the way.
    Thanks

  • Error: NDMP operation failed due to media error

    I scheduled a RMAN backup job on oracle 11g EM and sometime it failed when running datafile backup.  The log showed the error come from media layer and did not specify detail message. We used secure backup to transfer data to tape. There are 4 tape drivers in service, but only one of them always return this error.  Could anyone tell how to resolve the problem ?

        10:19:53 A_T:  writing marker label; here it is:

    Judging by the transcript snips that you provided, I also believe that this is caused by a bad drive or bad media.
    Start by looking at the output of the command :
      # obtool dumpdev <tape_drive_name>
    (replace "<tape_drive_name>" by the name of the drive which was used during the failed job).
    Look for any errors or warnings during the date/time the backup job failed. These message usually provide a good idea about the problem that occurred.
    Next try the same backup using the same media in another drive to see it the problem reoccurs or not. In case the problem reoccurs, there's a good chance that the media is bad. If the backup succeeds on another drive, then try the same backup using the original drive but with a new media. If the backup fails again on the same drive using new media, you should open a support request with the tape drive vendor. In that case, collect the logs from the tape library (and dump the tape drives is possible).

    Gio

  • Getting ORA-01403 in dba_segments query during a trigger

    Hi, Everyone --
    I need to set up a process which will automatically start Oracle auditing on a table when it's created on a particular tablespace.
    I've created an "after create on database" DDL trigger which will fire when (ORA_DICT_OBJ_TYPE = 'TABLE').
    In this trigger, I use the DBMS_STANDARD package trigger attribute functions in a query against the dba_segments view to check if the new
    table has been created in the targeted tablespace. Here' the query:
    SELECT DISTINCT s.tablespace_name
    INTO tablespace_name
    FROM sys.dba_segments s
    WHERE s.owner = ORA_DICT_OBJ_OWNER
    AND s.segment_name = ORA_DICT_OBJ_NAME
    AND s.segment_type IN ('TABLE', 'TABLE PARTITION')
    AND s.tablespace_name = target_tablespace_name;
    The only purpose of this query is to make sure that that table is contained in the targeted tablespace identified by the "target_tablespace_name" constant variable used in the WHERE clause. If the query runs without error, then my trigger creates a DBMS_SCHEDULER job that executes an "audit" command to start Oracle auditing on the new table.
    To test the trigger, within the trigger code, I put the query inside a PL/SQL block with a "WHEN OTHERS" exception clause that will send formatted error detail to the alert log. Then I successfully create a test table on the targeted tablespace. The trigger fires, but the output shows that the query in my trigger failed with an "ORA-01403: no data found" error, indicating that the dba_segments view contains no records showing that the new table is on the targeted tablespace.
    But when, in an already opened PL/SQL session, I immediately run the same query (with the appropriate literals in place of the trigger attribute functions) then the query works with the name of the tablespace returned as expected!
    I tried an experiment with the trigger running the same query against the dba_tables view instead of the dba_segments view. It worked without error. The only problem is that if your create a partitioned table, the "tablespace_name" column in the dba_table view is NULL (which makes sense when the various table partitions can be contained in different tablepsaces). So, unfortunately, in the case of creating partitioned tables, the purpose of the query would be defeated.
    Why does the trigger work when it queries the dba_tables view, but fails when it queries the dba_segments view? Is there a timing issue which causes a lag between the time the table is created and the time that the dba_segments view is updated? Would the trigger fire inside this time lag, thus causing the dba_segments query to fail? Or is there another explanation?
    Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

    Hi, Solomon --
    Thanks for the confirmation! I forgot to mention in my original post that I'm running this on 11.1.0.7.
    To test the hypothesis that it's a timing issue, I put a hefty "for loop" before the dba_segments query in the code of the trigger. It caused the trigger to spin its wheels for a few seconds before it ran the query. But this didn't help, because I got the ORA-01403 error again.
    So it must not be a timing issue after alll. Perhaps the dba_segments query isn't updated until all triggers associated with the table creation have completed. Just guessing.
    Anybody know the reason for this?
    Cheers!

  • Ipad2 restore failed due to cable disconnect

    Hello, I have an ipad2. I was trying to restore the ipad due to lost password. During the restore, the cable got disconnected.
    Now I have an unusable ipad. It stays on itunes/recovery screen.
    When I connect it to the laptop, it tries to do restore/update then it comes back 'The ipad could not be updated. The device cannot be found'.
    My computer's USB does not recognize this ipad due to corrupted firmware as a result of failed restore.
    What can be done?

    Hold both buttons and turn screen black again... What happens when you touch power button? does it turn back on to the  itunes/recovery screen? Or try holding power button until you see the slide to power off appear... then hold both buttons for hard restart... If nothing else call Apple.. they will still help if you schedule a phone call online.. They will call you... no $$$$ needed...
