DDIC_ACTIVATION

Dear All,
i have checked in TRBAT and TRJOB no entries are there.
when i am applying  Basis Patch SAPKB70008. Throwing the following Error:
The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve
without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial
screen of the Support Package Manager.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
    -   Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION
    -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
    -   Return code: 0008
    -   Error message: OCS Package SAPKB70008, tp step A, return code
        0008
Regards
SNB

Shankar,
DDIC activation is the first step in the RDD* jobs scheduled by the job RDDIMPDP.
by refering to your transport request number, go to the directory  TRANS>log>ALOG
here open the file in notepad.
ALOG gives you details of what went right/wrong for each RDD* step executed during transport.
This might help. You can also check SLOG but that give only an overview of the import process for a given transport request number.

Prashant

  • Error in Spam / saint update TP_STEP_FAILURE and DDIC_ACTIVATION

    Dear All,
While updating spam/ saint update I am facing  this error
    Details of Error:
The installation was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Add-On Installation Tool is unable to resolve
    without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Continue in the queue display.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
        -   Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION
        -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
        -   Return code: 0008
        -   Error message:  tp step A, return code
            0008
    Notes on phase DDIC_ACTIVATION
In this phase the system activates the imported Data Dictionary objects.
This phase may terminate for several reasons:
o   TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: The system was unable to call the tp
         interface.
o   TP_FAILURE: The system was unable to execute the tp program. For
more information, see the SLOG or ALOG log file.
o   TP_STEP_FAILURE: The system was unable to perform the tp step DDIC
activation successfully. To see the cause of the problem in the
        activation log, choose Logs.
If you import two or more OCS packages in one installation queue,
and activate the Data Dictionary objects in the incorrect sequence,
this can cause errors. In this case, the activation errors disappear
if you repeat the activation run. To do this, choose Continue.
The Add-On Installation Tool requires that the Change and Transport
System (CTS) be configured correctly. For more detailed information,
read the online documentation available from Help -> SAP Library ->
mySAP Technology Components -> SAP Web Application Server -> BC Change
    and Transport System .

  • Error in DDIC_Activation while updating SAP_APPL

    Hello All,
I'm getting following error while executing SAP_APPL component. Please guide me on this.
    - Error message: OCS Package SAPK-60016INFICA, tp step "A", return
    code 0008
In this phase the imported Dictionary objects are activated. This phase
can terminate due to the following reasons:
o TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: The tp interface could not be called.
o TP_FAILURE: The program tp could not be executed. For more
information, see the SLOG or ALOG log file.
o TP_STEP_FAILURE: The tp step DDIC activation could not be performed
successfully. To see the cause of the error in the activation log,
choose Goto -> Log -> Queue.
If you import two or more Support Packages in one queue, and you do
not activate them in the correct sequence, activation errors may
occur. In this case, the activation errors disappear when you repeat
the activation run. To do this, choose Support Package -> Import
    Support Package Queue.

  • The Add-on installation is currently in phase DDIC_ACTIVATION

    Dear All,
I am applying the addon "ST-A/PI" on SAP ERP 6.0. The status "The Add-on installation is currently in phase DDIC_ACTIVATION" has been there for a few hours now whereas the sap note says it should end in 12 mins approx.
Could you please help in resolving the issue. This is very important.
    Thanks
    Best Regards,

    Welcome to SDN,
You can't change the existing queue if the SPAM status is DDIC_ACTIVATION.
Can you please check the SPAM --> goto --> import logs.
You need to raise an OSS message if you want to reset the SPAM queue.

This is the information which I am getting in the system--
The view to be activated must still be adjusted in the database to the new definition in the
    ABAP/4 Dictionary.
    Procedure
Generally the view is adjusted in the database system by the activating program itself (or
in the release upgrade by a subsequent step of the upgrade process). If this is not
successful, the view is not activated so that there are no inconsistencies between the
ABAP/4 Dictionary and the database system.

  • The import was stopped, an error occurred during the phase DDIC_ACTIVATION

    Dear all,
When I import the SAP_BASIS support package SAPKB70019 , it appears the error as below :
The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve
    without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial
screen of the Support Package Manager.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
         -   Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION
         -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
         -   Return code: 0008
         -   Error message: OCS Package SAPKB70019, tp step A, return code
             0008
    Notes on phase DDIC_ACTIVATION
A prerequisite of the Support Package Manager is that the Change and
Transport System (CTS) is configured correctly. For more detailed
information, read the online documentation available from Help -> SAP

  • SAPKH47028 DDIC_ACTIVATION phase

    Hi,
I'm trying to patch SAP_APPL level 28 on my 4.7Ent ext 2. During the DDIC_ACTIVATION phase I got some error. On the log it mention:
View /1SAP1/CNV_C0087 could not be activated
(E- Key field KONDN-KNUMH missing. Specify maintenance status 'read only'. )
View /1SAP1/CNV_C0090 could not be activated
(E- Key field LIPS-VBELN missing. Specify maintenance status 'read only'. )
View /1SAP1/CNV_C0101 could not be activated
(E- Key field REGUH-XVORL missing. Specify maintenance status 'read only'. )
View /1SAP1/CNV_C0114 could not be activated
I couldn't find a single SAP note on this. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    BR,
    Eida

I found out that the cause of the problem is due to the SAP conversion tables/view (/1SAP1/CNV_CNXXXXX) which are created for the conversion project that the company did with SAP previously.
From some other system, I can see that the table was deleted from the system. I'm not sure if this the right things to do. Can anyone confirm that we can delete the conversion table/view in a system?
    Please advice.
    Best Regards,

  • DDIC_ACTIVATION Error during application of Support Pack SAPKH47007

    Hi All,
We were trying to apply Support Pack SAPKH47007 and it gave us an error in DDIC_Activation Phase and when i checked the logs it gave us this error
Relationship TMFK-TDID for table TTXS does not exist
    Check dependent search help S_TMFK_SETTLE
    Search help S_TMFK_SETTLE is consistent
I searched and found one Relevant Note for this SAP Note Num : 625098 and it tells us to delete the following fields
Delete the fields FLG_AK_PAYM_FICA and FLG_AK_PAYM_FIAR from the table
I went to SE11 and i dont see this fields there, and even though if i see them i dont think i can delete them coz it is asking Developer Key.
Upon further checking i found that if we delete the Contents in  Pat01 and Pat03 we can go ahead and redo the support packs from begining. Can anyone throw some light on this as to how safe is this?
    Regards,
    Ershad Ahmed.

Did you read the note I gave you?
    The note says:
Symptom: An error occurs in the DDIC_ACTIVATION phase when you import Support Package SAPKH47007. The DDIC activation log records the following error messages:
Relationship TMFK-TDID for table TTXS does not exist
    <...>
Solution: A general solution to the problem is available with R/3 Support Package SAPKH47010. To avoid the error, import the Support Packages SAPKH47007 and SAPKH47010 together in a queue.
If you have already encountered this error, the queue must be reset and extended to include Support Package SAPKH47010. Since you cannot reset the queue from the DDIC_ACTIVATION phase using normal means, this must be done by SAP Support (Component BC-UPG-OCS).

  • SYSTEM_NO_TASK_STORAGE DDIC_ACTIVATION upgrade to EHP4 SPS5

    Hello,
When want to upgrade our system from SAP ERP 6.0 EHP3 SPS5 ( Windows 32 Bit with RAM 3Gb )  to EHP4 SPS5 with SAINT  we encountered the following Error in  DDIC Activation phase :
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
         -   Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION
         -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
         -   Return code: 0012
         -   Error message: OCS Package SAPK-60401INEAAPPL, tp step A, return
             code 0012
In ST22 we have the following message :
    Runtime Errors         SYSTEM_NO_TASK_STORAGE
    Date and Time          20.05.2011 19:51:09
    Short text
Unable to fulfil request for 3897444 bytes of storage space.
We have adjut the following parameters but we still have the error :
    tta/roll_extension = 2000000000
    ztta/roll_area = 1000000
    ztta/roll_first = 1
    em/max_size_MB = 20000
    em/initial_size_MB = 2048
    abap/heap_area_dia = 2000000000
    abap/heap_area_total = 5000000000
    abap/heap_area_nondia = 2000000000
We have also applied  /3GB in boot.ini for windows (recommendation Note 1275873 - Memory bottleneck during DDIC activation during EHP import ).
    Thank you for you help.

    The short-dump issue you are experiencing is a well known problem which uses to occur on 32-bit architecture system platforms;
those short-dumps are a clear indication of a 'lack of memory (address space) issue'.
When a program (or a transaction or a job) is running, the work process
follows this memory allocation sequence (valid for Windows platforms):
       a) Roll memory up to the quota "ztta/roll_first"
       b) Extended memory up to the quota "em/address_space_MB"
       c) Roll memory up to the quota "ztta/roll_area"
       d) Heap memory up to the quota "abap/heap_area_dia"
Short dumps like these ones arise when additional memory
is required to extend the internal table, but none is available.
    Check these points :
    - make sure parameters values are set as indicated in Note 88416
read the document "Optimizing the Memory Settings for
SAP Systems on 32-Bit Windows" that you will find at:
        http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700006425762006E
    Also,
    - Enable the Windows startup option /3GB, as per Note 110172
    - Reduce the memory parameters rdisp/ROLL_SHM and rdisp/PG_SHM to
6000 and check that other memory buffers like abap/buffersize have
not been increased from default values.
Note 110172 : Windows: Transactions with large memory requirements
    - Niraj

  • DDIC_ACTIVATION ERROR

While applying support package for SAP_HR, I am getting the following error..Please help me..My system is just upgraded to ECC6..
    ERROR in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION
    Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE
    Return code:0008
Error message OCS pkgSAPKE60023,tp step A return code 008
    Regards,

    Hai,
To view the cause of the error in the activation log, choose Goto -- Log -- Queue.
    Please post the logs.
If you import two or more Support Packages in a queue, activation errors can result from an incorrect activation sequence for Dictionary objects. If this is the case, the activation errors disappear if the objects are activated again. To do this, choose Support Package -- Import queue.
Check in SAP Market place for some SAP Notes for known problems.
