Dear Nokia C3-01

I have just got this phone and I like it but there are a couple of gripes.
If I go to Ovi store it's like the phone doesn't exist, there is nothing there for it, is Nokia really that embarrassed by this model?
When the Nokia boffins are writing the next updates can we please have a second alarm setting and can we please please please have a way to create our own ringtones from our music files.
Any one else want to contribute some ideas feel free, hopefully big brother Nokia is watching.

It's a desert in there, do other people see things?  Maybe it's a location thing as I live in that well known black hole the Channel Islands, sort of U.K but not really.  Only really interested because the standard games don't appeal to me, but hey-ho doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things.

  • DEAR NOKIA

Dear Nokia, my name is Bach. I am from Vietnam, a small country in SEA. In here, Lumia devices are one of the most popular devices after iOS and Android. I am using a Lumia 520 device and i ve nothing to complain about it. It´s cheap, good. It has all features that i need. When i bought this phone, i was very excited. After using for about a month, i received news about AMBER update, which is a big update. I heard that my 520 will have Double taps to wake up, FM, Flip to silence, Bluetooth 4.0, Files manager, and many others things that i expected. After that, there was a video about a Lumia 520 of AT&T with Amber update. It had all the features and i was getting more and more excited about this update. But about 2 or 3 days ago, 1 of your Community managers said in his topic that 520, 620, 720, 521, 625 wont have TAPTAP. I was shocked and thought:" This is rediculous." I couldnt believe it. So what about the video of AT&T. No Glance for some Hardware LACKS. No Double taps now. Even the 501 has it. Well, this might not be a big problem if your buttons didnt died and we had to use the camera buttons to unlock the phones. I hope that topic will be one of your tricks before launching the amber for 520. Rep to me as soon as possible.
PS. My English is not very good so forgive me if i had made any mistakes.

Once again a different OS your wasting your time arguing this, the 520 is not the 501 its the entry level WP8 DEVICE thats a top seller.
You may have to sacrifice one or two things for the price you pay
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
    Now using the Lumia 1520

  • DEAR NOKIA II

    DEAR NOKIA,
WE YOUR AVID CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN WAITING WEEKKS UPON WEEKS FOR THE UPDATE OF NOKIA N93.
WE ARE THANKFUL FOR THE V11. WHICH SOLVED THE LOW MEMORY PROMPT(BUT PERSONALLY, DID NOT FIX ANYTHING ELSE)
THEREFORE WE HAVE WAITED....AND WAITED...AND WAITED.....
WE HAVE WAITED WITHOUT ANY IDEA,RESPONSE OR EVEN A SIMPLE LINE TO TELL US YOUR "HIGH END BUYERS" WELL THE UPDATE IS COMING ALONG BUT WE ARE NOT 100% SURE WHEN IT WILL BE RELEASED. JUST A LITTLE LINE TO AT LEAST GIVE US AN IDEA.
THE LAST PROMPT WE GOT FROM NOKIA WAS THE 16TH NOV. TODAY IS THE 4TH DEC. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT NOKIA COULD HAVE SAID WITHIN THAT 2 WEEK PERIOD?
WELL HAVING WAITED SO LONG FOR A REAL FW UPDATE(AS V11 PERSONALLLY WASNT A REAL UPDATE AS I STILL GET LOW MEMORY PROMPT WHEN USING THE WEB.....WITH NO OTHER APPLICATIONS RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND)I HAVE SAT AND LISTED SOME LITTLE IMPROVEMENTS THAT SHOULD COME ALONG WITH THE WAIT:
    1. NO MORE LOW MEMORY WHILE ON THE INTERNET(USING GPRS OR ANY OTHER CONNECTION)
    2. BLUETOOTH CONNECTION SHOULD WORK WITH THE HEADSETS
    3. STILL PICTURE IMPROVED(I KNOW NOKIA DOESNT LIKE TO COMPETE THEIR PHONES N93 STILL PICS VS. N73 STILL PICS BUT WE WOULD LIKE SOME STILL PICTURE IMPROVEMNTS)
    4.BETTER CONNECTION TO WIFI
5.THE LENSE MOVEMENT NOISE WHILE ZOOMING IN/OUT WHILE CAPTURING A VIDEO ELIMINATED
THESE LITTLE SUGGESTIONS GO ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER IMPROVEMENTS THAT NOKIA HAS ALREADY IMPLEMENTED
PLEASE NOKIA AS WE HAVE WAITED SO LONG FOR A FW UPDATE THESE LITTLE ADJUSTMENTS SHOULD NOT RADICALLY CHANGE THE WAITING PERIOD....AND I GUESS WE ARE WILLING TO WAIT IF WE CAN GET A REALLY GREAT FW UPDATE...
    YOUR TRULY,
    N93 USERS

  • Dear Nokia: MY E71 KEEPS TURNING OFF!!!!

My E71 is only 7 months old and for the past 5 of them my Nokia E71 has been the most frustrating thing. I wish I had got an Apple iPhone. I never want to use  Nokia again!
It powers off and, until I realize, it stays that way. COMPLETLEY  USELESS!
Since using it for a main business mobile phone I have missed far too many phone calls which annoys me greatly.
I have taken it to Carphone Warehouse and got told it was a firmware bug, so I updated it and it made no difference. I took it back and still when I use it does exactly the same thing. I have also taken it to a Nokia repair centre who apprenlty fixed it, but when I got it back it did the same thing again and again.
I would like to know what to do to get this sorted. I have had enough of it.
I hope Nokia actually moderate this forum and do take note of this problem, it sees that I am not the only one.
If any one from Nokia is reading this please contact me at.........[email protected] .......I won't hold my breath, it is clear that they dont really care about the customer and is proven with their aftersales service.

Thought i was the only one but clearly not... what's the point of being so called number one phone company in the world when one of your top phones just randomly turns off all the time... i love my phone but slowly starting to hate who made it...
I got the phone from vodacom SA and still have a warranty... i hope they can fix whatever is wrong with it... i loose money when my phone goes off...

  • Dear Nokia, From N95 User

I just have a few questions - and I am hoping that you can finally answer them on your own forum.
1.) Can the N95 users expect a firmware update in the near future?
2.) Will the firmware update address the memory handling problems of the phone that limit its functionality?
    Thanks,
    Nicholas

    $20 nokia won`t reply
hope they`ll release a new FW (including N-Gage, ODP, new Maps, bugfixes, maybe smth else) after they finish N-Gage testing. nokia promises to complete such a complicated task by 02-nov, so we may hope to get new FW in a couple of months. I`ve read somewhere that nokia is going to include N-Gage in the list of N95` services, but as I understand that`s impossible w/o releasing a new FW.
I believe everybody has seen a movie demo of ODP (I`ve found it somewhere on YouTube). That`s one more reason to believe in the new firmware release.
but there is one more question - when?
I`d pay $20 with a pleasure if any nokia representative replies

  • Nokia OVI Suite and Nokia Care Support

Today I called Nokia Support, because I could not download maps with map loader.
The guy asked if the ovi suite is installed. I told him, that the Ovi suite keeps on crashing on start-up on my machine, and that all other software is running fine, e.g. the PC suite which I am using instead.
For a price of 14 Cent/Minutes this "Nokia-Care"-guy had the nuts telling me that probably my computer needs to be fixed. After telling him that my computer works fine with all other software, he finally told me that I need to call Microsoft, as it would be their fault that Ovi Suite is not running on my machine.
This is a poor joke called "Nokia-Care". Dear Nokia-people, that is no-support and no-care-at-all. Providing something that crashes for free, and charging money for providing rudeness on the phone.

    Hey,
Hw did u instlld ur latest version, w/o installing previous version, if yes, unistall and reinstall NOS, it will work

  • OPEN LETTER TO NOKIA: Fix Bugs Now or We're Ditchi...

    Dear Nokia
After many years struggling with Windows Mobile's constant bugs that Microsoft are reknowned for, I finally bit the bullet and bought an E71 made by the king of mobile phone manufacturers... or so I thought... Nokia.
I have been utterly astonished and devastated by the number of extremely obvious bugs with this device and am shocked beyond belief that Nokia is allowing itself to tarnish its own previously good brand image by putting out untested phones with software that seems to have been written by a 12 year old boy as his first project.
I have tried posting the issues on these groups, but no solution. 'Wait for a firmware update', or 'hard reset your phone and lose all your hours worth of customisations', seem to be the standard replies. I have emailed your support, who cannot even read and send irrelevant replies. It is no wonder the bugs do not make it past them and get forwarded to you, and therefore no wonder you are not fixing them.
Worse still some of these bugs go back to phones before the Eseries according to my Google searches. You have knowingly carried forward bugs from old phones to new flagship ones. It is utterly unbelievable.
This is an open letter asking you to resolve the following bugs within 30 days via a Firmware update for the E71, or I will be returning my Nokia E71 under the UK Sale of Goods Act 1979 as it is "not fit for the intended purpose" (such as making a simple Bluetooth call or using WiFi), and "not of satisfactory quality". I urge other users to also return their Nokias if they are forced to endure such bugs beyond 30 days of this notice.
Here are the bugs I am experiencing, which I have seen multiple other users report, and I am sure other users will reply to my open letter confirming they will also be abandoning the Nokia brand in favour of something more reliable.
    1) Bluetooth Disconnects - see http://tinyurl.com/3q9hmk
Excerpt: "My headset (Plantronics Voyager 510) disconnects every 10 seconds, then reconnects, then disconnects, then... I can leave them just inches from each other and they'll go through this strange dance.
Furthermore you cannot answer an Internet VoIP call using the headset's answer button, but CAN answer a cell call.
Then I get in my car (JVC KD-BT1) and make a call, and 2 minutes into every call the Bluetooth connection is dropped and the call transfers to the handset. Very dangerous."
    2) WLAN Ghost Access Points and clunky behaviour
The WiFi integration is a mess. There are so many different ways to connect, via WLAN scanner, via Tools, via Internet Phone, and the outcome is that even though you are only within one access point, multiple access points get created. E.g. if I connect to 'WiFi' and define an access point, if I later connect via a different route, I get a ghost access point 'WiFi(01)'. Do this for a week or so at home and you end up with these access points:
    WiFi
    WiFi(01)
    WiFi(02)
    WiFi(03) and so on...
Try to delete one of them, and all 4 disappear. Experiment too much further and try to tidy up, and suddenly anything to do with WLAN access slows the phone down 1000%:
    - Click WLAN Scan and the Home Screen freezes for 3 minutes
    - Try to enter Internet Phone and the status bar freezes
    - Try to connect to Email and it fails to ask for an access point and just gives up
Then you have to work out how to restore WiFi(01)... etc. to how they were before, and only then does the freezing stop.
Hard reset is not a solution - it just happens again before long. I have better things to do with my life than constantly configure my phone settings after each hard reset.
    3) View Interrupted Downloads, if only I could - see http://tinyurl.com/6jeuvt
After a failed download, every time I reboot the phone or close Web, the phone asks 'View interrupted downloads?'. If I click yes, it just takes me to the Bookmarks. There is no 'Downloads' option in Web's Options menu in the E71. It is impossible to make this annoying popup go away. Unless you hard reset and lose all your settings and data.
    4) A2DP is always on - see http://tinyurl.com/5nat3r
Excerpt: "I get in the car and the phone connects to my JVC KD-BT5 stereo. All audio is again routed through the stereo's A2DP source. But if I listen to the radio, I don't hear the phone audio, and again miss out on SMS alerts and more!
This is the only A2DP phone I know that doesn't let you choose whether each Bluetooth headset is also a 'Bluetooth Audio Device'! Even Windows Mobile had a checkbox for that!!"
    5) Diabolical Camera Quality
The camera quality is appalling. The amount of grain must be a bug. Nokia will lose sales on this compared to the Blackberry Bold which has a lower-res yet better quality camera. Also AutoFocus should be Auto (!) not require pressing the 't' key.
When I try to find a repair centre at http://www.apps.nokia.co.uk/clubnokiaservice/ your website is down. Even the link to find a solution is bugged!
I am amazed that some of these bugs relate to older Nokia phones like no. 3 and that a customer has to go to these lengths to try to get Nokia's programmers' attention.
If other users agree, they will reply here and let Nokia know.
    Yours frustratedly,
A new (soon to be ex-) Nokia customer

I have no comments regarding the above issues, but have a few of my own. I know some 'features' with some of the phones are hard to distinguish from 'bugs', so I'll just list a few glitches I feel are obvious bugs. My phone is the Finnish version of E71-1.
The e-mail hardware shortcut button on my E71-1 is giving me the "Feature not available. Reverting to default setting" error if the button is set to open up the Create New E-mail screen when held down for a second or two. All other settings that can be set-up in the Mode Settings work normally. Note that the default action *is* to open up the Create New E-mail screen when the button is held down. Hard reset doesn't help.
In the Gallery if I rotate a picture that I've for example shot in portrait orientation (E71 has a landscape screen), the new orientation doesn't get saved. After exiting the image viewer the image has reverted to it's original orientation. As-is, the feature doesn't make sense to me at the moment. This is quite an old 'feature' dating back to the E61 at least.
Connecting my Motorola HT820 A2DP-compatible stereo headset to my E71 is giving me grief. The audio keeps cutting off even though I keep my cellphone in my shirt pocket. To be exact, for some peculiar reason the phone either pauses the music or goes fast forward if I have my hand between the headset's receiver and the phone. After doing so, occasionally the pitch of the music has hightened, like an LP playing too fast on the turntable. Listening to music while keeping the phone at the opposite side of my body to the bluetooth headset is nearly impossible, because my own body mass is apparently enough to block the signal (I'm 80kg, 185cm). I've had no problems with connecting to other A2DP media players (e.g. Palm TX PDA, Bluetooth 1.2) to my headset.
The video camera's zoom is still jerky (a bug with my ex-E61i) and the jerkiness gets recorded to the video file. Last time I tried recording video I found out that the phone had lost about one minute from the beginning of the recording. I'm getting a feeling that the E71 is underpowered for these kinds of tasks - but is it really?
I have some old programs and themes that I used in my previous phone the E61i in my 2GB memory card. After inserting the memory card to my new E71 and starting the phone up, it tries to install the applications to the new system. The installing fails, but this isn't really the problem. The problem is that the phone suggests installing all the remaining "untrusted" programs manually, and even after successfully doing just that, the phone still attempts to install the new software after every single reset. To "clean up" the memory card of the remnant software and files that cause this behavior I had to search around the net for in-depth knowledge about the Symbian filesystem and folder structure. Asking the help desk about the problem only results to such answers as: "Do a hard reset." "Don't fiddle with the memory card folders." "Format the memory card and your phone."
All I need is the phone to tell which files are causing the problems, or the ability to simply turn off the automatic installer at startup. The worst kind of error messages are the kinds that don't help at all.

  • Nokia e90 and polar axn700 infrared using MobileLi...

    Dear Nokia Support,
I was wondering if it would be possible somehow to connect a polar heartrate watch such as for example the AXN700 to Polar Sports software for Nokia using infrared.
The software seems to crash when trying to connect and at the polar website they say you will need the Nokia 5140i with infrared for it.

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best Regards,

oakley you seem to be under the impression that Nokia support will answer your question on this board.
They will not...this board is a Customer to Customer help forum.
Nokia staff only moderate the board .(if we miss-behave)...they do not answer questions.
Some of us will answer if we can...IF WE CAN...in this case..I have no idea.
Perhaps another customer knows the AXN700 to Polar Sports software...
Suggest you use this link to contact Nokia Support.

Edit ..The guys at Nokia support in the Netherlands are very good use the "which country" drop down to contact them.

  • Nokia N95 8 Gigs "The Phone that got forgotten"

    Dear Nokia Support,
After I have bought this phone, I was not as please with the price and over all service that I have received from Nokia. I didn't care that it was expensive, but the service... Lets me begin where I have bought this phone for over 24,500 baht (Central World Power Buy, Bangkok, Thailand) [new copper color, N95 8 gigs]. I've bought the phone for the look, services, GPS system, but I am sorry to say that I didn't get any of that.
Lets start from the back; the GPS system. It takes so long to get the sat. lock, not even counting the time to calculated route, I was confirm with the Nokia Customer care that it will be resolve when I upgrade the firmware to 20 something. Unfortunately, when I have upgraded my phone, the phone act very weird and GPS function take even longer than it was before; even with the aids of GPRS where it should have taken only a few mins if not less. It would taken over 5. (this function become obsolete for me, as it is not helping me in anyway)
Secondly, as it was claim on the website of Nokia that Nokia have the best Care service. It was not for me, at first it was ok, as I was in the shop to get my phone firmware update, i got premium services and being taken care off right way. The reason that I was in the shop the first time was because I was using the Windows Vista at home, Nokia Care software was not support it (talk about up to date??) The second time however was different (MBK, Bangkok, Thailand) I didn't show my phone like the first time, I simply told them that my phone need fixing. My N95 screen went blank all of the sudden, I could make call normally but I could not see anything on the screen. One of the customer rep. told me that it would take 3 hours to fix the phone. So I was very please that I was being taken care off. Before I am going further, I would like to add that I have only use this phone for little over 3 months, I have never drop the phone or expose to any wet condition, and I have always keep the phone in the leather pouch that I bought for it. Now, back to the story. One of other rep, came over and told me that she could not find me on the system and I would need my recipt to get my phone service... (wait.. I bought this phone to 3 months, yet already have service here once.. and I still need a recipt??? I was very **bleep** at that point as the way they are saying that I would not get my phone services for I have not have my recipt... eventually she went to the back and finally saw me on the system. At that point she gave me a different answer than the rep. that he was handle me before, she said this phone need to be send to the center and it will take over 2 weeks for it to be fix. After argue for a while, she said that she will need to ask the tech. and she got back to me and say that she will have the tech. try to do something to the phone (I guess replacing some hardware) for 3 hours and she will either get back to me or I have to come back in 3 hours. After 3 hours has passed, I came back to the Nokia Care Shop and ask for the status of my phone, and found that they were waiting to talk to me about the phone. She said the phone have some water stain inside, and it will not be handle by Nokia as it is void the service agreement (well, my phone have not been anywhere near water or drop anywhere, the only reason this happend is only maybe from the my sweat.) and it is going to cost me over 2,200 baht to fix the phone as water mark void the service agreement.... well my phone was void because of normal use.. and it has only been 3 month. I guess Nokia is not for me, as I can't even sweat when using the phone. and I am not talking about a lot of sweat either, because my office is always in the air conditional Building. It was not as bad if she have called me faster to lets me know this other than letting me hang around for 3 hours and ask for the status. Now I have to wait 2 weeks. This is what I got from the best of service care in thailand. Furthermore, I know I could have just walk to the other end of the mall and get my phone for maybe half the price and possibly in less than an hour. Maybe I was stupid....
That was it, maybe it was my mistakes to even pick this phone from the begining, it wasn't cheap, changing it to a dollar is over 700 dollars phone. I was left with no choice, the phone is in parts in their hand. In order to fix my phone I will have to pay for the repair... or else I would just lost that 24,500 baht that I have just invested on the phone for merely 3 monthes. I will mark that Nokia is not for me and I will never buy anymore of Nokia Product. Expensive yet not user friendly. As soon as I got my phone back from the service, I am just going to sell it.
    Soravis,
    very disatified customer of Nokia

    Check these:
    (1) Phone software version - v20 and up have better GPS handling than earlier versions, if you have earlier than that then update.
    (2) Maps application version - if you have v1.2, update to v2.0 (this version will be inbuilt if your phone can update to software version 30 anyway) - this version is much improved.
    (3) This model has its GPS receiver positioned beneath the keypad, rather unusually, so make sure you have the slide open when using GPS.

  • A Thank & A Complain to Nokia

Dear Nokia Cutomers Support, Here I should thank you alot for the very strong step as updating mobiles through the internet( a dream come true), which almost imtating the updation manner to i-mate mobiles and over that it prevents the mistakes that might happen if a user tried by him self. but the problem is that updation through the internet is ignoring the country which this user is resides right now or while the update process is requeried. • How Nokia Lost Me as a Customer

    Dear Nokia,
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this message, but I am tired of not being heard by any of the other means of communication with the company.
I bought a Nokia Lumia 900 around April 2012 (right after release) for full price and off-contract. The phone works great and looks even better. In terms of functionality, wp7.5 is great and in my honest opinion way better than iOS and Android. In fact, I was thrilled to hear Nokia had gone with Windows Phone, which definitely factored into my desicion to buy the Lumia originally.
However, what I did not know, was the extent of neglect that Nokia would put me through after that. I am a student, and about 3 months after I bought the phone, I left the US to begin a study abroad program in Spain. When I tried to unlock my Lumia 900 for international use, I hit a brick wall. As it turned out, the Lumia 900 is an AT&T exclusive, so while Rogers users (in Canada) and in other networks around the world could unlock theirs without an issue, AT&T users were STUCK until the magical date of October 8th (the date at which the phone would become eligible for unlock).
We are now at October 17th, and despite my numerous attempts to obtain an unlock code, my phone is still locked. This is what my experience has been: AT&T asks for my IMEI #, then claims that the phone is indeed eligible for unlock, but they cannot for whatever reason find the code. After HOURS on the phone, they "opened a case" for it, for which I never received an answer. AT&T also recommended calling Nokia. Off to call Nokia. Nokia says that they do not have the unlock codes, and that I should call Microsoft. Off to call Microsoft. Microsoft says that they do not have the codes, and that I should call AT&T. Needless to say how much time has been wasted on this and how stressful, frustrating and futile the effort has been.
This entire issue is not even to mention the fact that my phone will not be able to support Windows Phone 8. Which essentially means that I am stuck, overseas, with an obsolete phone that I can't use and can't sell.
Thank you Nokia for at least venting my frustration. Unfortunately though, you have lost a previously passionate customer.
    Best,
    Max S

    Hi maxisultan,
Thanks for your post and welcome!
Sorry to hear about your experience obtaining an unlock code. Providing unlock codes is the responsibility of the carrier and Nokia Care will not be able to assist you with this. Besides that Nokia Support Discussions is a user to user support platform and not a 'direct to Nokia' support channel.
I understand that being in Europe will make it more difficult to communicate with AT&T but unfortunately there is no other option. I will however forward your post internally and ask for this to be looked into. You are obviously free to contact Nokia Care USA directly to voice your opinion on this to them as well. You could ask them to also forward this. You can reach them through voice, mail or chat using the 'Contact us' link on this page.
