Dect phone wireless

Is the wireless link from a Dect phone cradle (base station) to the phone handset active all the time or only when the phone is off the cradle ?

Hi Del,
It's all the time.
The only reason to put the phone in the cradle, is to charge the batteries.

  • DECT Phones to Cisco 2901 Voice gateway + CUCM 9

One of our locations has 2 POTS lines that currently have DECT cordless phones. Originally VoIP phones were slated to be placed out there but they wantto use cordless phones. We do no want wireless phones as the wireless infrastructure was designed to support it.
I assume that I can connect a Cisco DECT phone to an FXS port on the 2901 and be able to integrate into the VoIP system? Are there any limitations I need to look out for?

That can be done. An analog phone will not have as much features as an IP phone, beside that it will work.

  • Hub Compatible dect phones

Is there a list of Homehub copatible dect phones anywhere ?
    Ta.

I don`t think the Hub Phone is any better or worse then any, some will disagree though, My Hub phones work very well.
Its really a matter of personal choice, I woould go for the cheapest option, at kaest as a start.
Hub Phones, and Hubs appear on Ebay from time to time at low prices, might be worth a look.

  • Skype Internet DECT phone not working

    Hi all,
I tried to get support from Creative but they have been less than useful. ?
?Can anyone answer these two simple questions:
. What is the latest version of the Dect software? I am on v.2.6.0
    2. Is there a knowledge base / support section that deals with the DECT phone. I can not locate it. According to the installer I have have access to drivers and the knowledgebase.
My primary issue is I keep getting an? "Access to skype is rejected" message on the Creative application but I have not been able to get any kind of answer as to what this means from tech support. I think I am on to 4 e-mails now. ?
I'm Running XP,? v2.6.0 on the creative software

) Boy, customer support sucks. I've been trying to get my ticket resolved and I still have yet to get any progress. I can't even get these two simple questions answered.
The end of every e-mail says, try the forums, well, no dice here either....

  • Query re dect phone and wired phone on same line

Quite long winded but wonder if someone could help please.
I had a dect phone plugged into the master socket. Due to working from home and need for better functionality than the dect phones could give me I bought a Converse 2300 wired phone and plugged it into the master socket.
I then moved to dect base unit to an extension socket in another room.
The dect phone when plugged into the master socket always showed caller ID.
The Converse which is now plugged into the master socket also shows caller ID.
However, I'm having a couple of problems with the dect phone I've relocated to the extension socket.
Firstly, I get a dial tone on the dect phone but when I try to dial a number I hear the key tones but it then just goes back to the dial tone rather than actually dialling the number.
Secondly, caller ID is not displayed on an incoming call on the relocated dect phone - instead the screen just says 'External'. Called ID is however displayed on the wired Converse phone.
I suspect there's a setting somewhere on one of the phones but I can't for the life of me work it out. Or do dect and wired phones not work together on the same line?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, it sounds like there could be a wiring fault with the extension socket, there would not he any settingsbon a phone that would solve the problem. Is there broadband on the line? If so try changing the ADSL filter.

  • DECT phone and a BT R15 answer machine

I have a Panasonic DECT phone and wonder if I can connect the R15 to the BT master socket and then connect the DECT to the R15.  Will it work or will it cause damage?
    Solved!

Hi I assume the answering machine you have is the response 15. I cannot see that it would cause any sort of damage to anything, as far as it working OK the best advice would be to try it yet again cannot see why it would not work.

  • Creative Internet DECT Phone doesn't work with Windows 7

I just updated my operating system from windows xp to windows 7 and found that Creative Internet DECT Phone couldn't work at all. It says "Please upgrade your operating system". What can I do now?

    Thanks!
I figured out how to get Creative mediasource on Windows 7 by using the 5.26.02 version but it won't recognize my Zen Touch. Further searching brought up using the Plays for Sure Plugin 5.00.36 but was warned that it wipes my Zen clean to install updated firmaware. Will the pack you linked do the same?
I'm guessing I should back up my current library in any case. As soon as I figure that out on my old XP pc, I will forge ahead.

  • DECT phone outgoing call issue

Has anyone had issues with DECT phone outgoing calls -  My new BT Studio 3500 can receive calls ok, but dialling out returns "this number is not recognised" - using my old analogue phone and it suffers no such issues.  Is there something up with my phone line - I have ADSL connected, this works fine with microfilter and analogue- even when I disconnect the ADSL line the DECT phone still has an outgoing call issue.  I even replaced the DECT phone with a another model previous, but the issue still remains.
Im not contracted to BT but go via TalkTalk, and just want to find out if I am setting the DECT phone up incorrectly!

So rather than try and troubleshoot your problem, or take the phone in to have it checked by Apple for a hardware fault, you're just going to wait for something to magically change... OK, then.

  • BT Infinity and DECT Phone BT Diverse 6350

I have just had BT infinity installed at home with the latest Home Hub (V3).
I am using a BT Diverse 6530 digital corded /cordless phone for my voice calls. Due to the location of my study the engineer wired  the telephone directly to the master socket which also hosts the broadband connection to the router and then straight out of the home to the external telephone line.
The problem appears to be on incoming calls . When answered on the corded phone on the base station the reception is fine. However when an incoming call is received on the cordless handset downstairs in another part of the house the calling person cannot hear any speech (although I can hear the other person clearly).
This problem has only surface since I have had the new infinity installed last week . I suspect it is something to do with the channel frequency separation on the BT Home Hub Wi-Fi and the DECT system the BT  phone is operating in.
Any suggestions to resolve this problem would be most welcome
    Many Thanks

If you have not already tried it move the base station and the router a few feet apart - both can interfere with each other but a few feet of air can help a lot!

  • 6.0 Dect phone won't connect with Skype or sign in

I have a GE Dect 6.0 phone.  I have tried to Sign in over and over, and the the sign in fails over and over.  I do not have a landline.  Do I have to have a landline to sign in to Skype?  I thought I could use the Skype out only with Cable connection.  Please advise of what may be going wrong.  Thank you.

It may depend on the maker of the device.  I believe in most cases, you would not have to have a standard phone line.  It would seem to me to defeat the purpose.  As far as signing in, if you have a standard Skype ID, I don't see why it would fail if it works on a computer.  If you have a Microsoft created or Facebook created id (live:/facebook:, etc.) and the device does not have a Skype login interface designed for it (as of yet), using any live or facebook prefixes will not work.  Only a standard Skype ID should.

  • Cisco 7925 Wireless Phone Wireless Auto Config

    Hello all,
My rehabilitation hospital is located right next to a large hospital connected by a catwalk.  We have had 3 incidents where our RTs have gone over to the hospital next door for patient MRIs and our Cisco 7925 wireless phones are being configured with that hospitals wireless profile.  The RTs are saying that no one from that hospital are manually configuring the phones to be on their wireless network so they can be used while off our wireless network.  We're thinking that the RTs are putting their phones down and picking up the other hospitals 7925s by accident before leaving.  My question to you is...Does the Cisco 7925s have an auto configuration tool that will automatically pick up on a particular wireless network and automatically configure itself and register with a Call Manager?  Thanks!
    Regards,
    Terence

    Leo and George,
Exactly!  It makes absolutely no sense.  All our Cisco 7925 phones are manually configured for our voice VLAN for our wireless network infrastructure.  It's the only profile I've configured for those phones.  I spoke to the other hospitals IT personnel and was advised that they use a wavelink server that sends the configuration to their 7925s after they have been entered into the server.  The only explanation I can come up with is that our RTs are sitting our phones down, doing whatever they need to do over at the hospital, then picking up the hospitals 7925 thinking they're picking up ours.  Another thing to note is that when I reconfigured the phone to be put back on our wireless, the phone performed a firmware update and then registered to our Call Manager.

  • SPA2002: supports digital DECT phones?

I have my cordless analog phone connected to the Linksys telephone adapter for VOIP and hear a lot of static. One possible solution would be to switch to digital phone for spread-spectrum capability. Does the SPA2002 (and other) adapter support digital phones or is it strictly an analog to digital device?
Any thoughts on the hissing or static? I have moved the IP gateway router away from interference sources.

  • AP1242 Excessive Transmit Discards and performance complaints

I have an AP1242 near a couple of conference rooms.  I get complaints when we have a large contingent in there
and some try to download documents.  The bandwidth consumption is meage - less than 2Mbps.  But there
could be say 50 people in those training rooms.  I see no errors at the FE interface on the AP but I do see
a good number of Transmit Discards.  A few questions from this..
Are 50 users connected to an AP1242 simply more than should be expected of the device?  802.11g is the radio.
Are transmit discards indicative of some kind of configuration problem?  The users in these cases are
generally very close to the access point - within a few feet even.
If it is indicative of a configuration problem would that be an issue of the configuration of the laptop wifi
cards or a problem at the AP?
    Thank you for any insight.
    Michael

I have an AP1242 near a couple of conference rooms.
You have a SINGLE unit serving two conference rooms.  How big are the conference rooms and what signals do the AP detect the clients?  What kind of antennas you using?  What radios are enabled?  What data rates are enabled?

50 users???  That's too much clients for a single AP.  You need to understand that wireless behaves like a hub:  One talks, everyone else stops to wait for their turn.  And this is on a 100 Mbps ethernet.
Are transmit discards indicative of some kind of configuration problem?  The users in these cases are generally very close to the access point - within a few feet even.
Discards mostly mean signal issues.  Possibly interferrence.  Bluetooth, microwave ovens, old DECT phones, wireless from nearby blasting at the same channels can potentially cause slow responses and discards.
I've got some solutions for you:
    1.  Add one or two APs;
    2.  Disable 802.11 b/g data rates from 12 Mbps and below.  Make 18 Mbps mandatory and above 18 Mbps as Supported.
    3.  Use 802.11 a (less channel interferrence).
    4.  DO NOT be tempted to use high-gain antenna.  You're inviting more trouble than solution.

  • Wireless 'on', mobile phone 'off'

This is more of a question for those of you who already have the iPhone as I'm thinking of getting one, but I am trying to avoid huge roaming costs. I do travel a bit, and the carriers roaming costs for data can be prohibitive. I have another mobile for local use in the UAE which generally gets more people responding when they see the local number rather than a UK telephone number - so I don't need telephone functionality when outside of the UK.
We use a Hosted Exchange service for our email so when I am in the UAE, can I keep the phone aspect switched off so it doesn't 'roam' but still use the iPhone for mail on local wifi networks (which are many and free).
Is is possible in effect to switch off the mobile phone wireless part, but keep wifi switched on and there by use the wifi for data without using the telephone carrier ?
    TIA

    also Graham Outsider
you can disable Data roaming so calls still work if you like keep Wi-Fi on
Any data your phone tries to access will ask you to select any found wi-fi networks first
