Deduction of Excise duty of Scrap Material in Depot

Hi,
Can anyone suggest how to reduce the excise amount of scrap in the depot scenerio(from mm point view)
Regards,
Ru

We need to maintain the movement type for SCRAP for RG1 ragister. or whaterver ragiser as per ur scenarios.
and those entried and prod entried will nullify each othere,
or you can avail excise retrun on total scrap, by having the entris in the register (for that perticular movement type)

  • Excise posting of scrap material in subcontracting process

    Hi expert,
Suppose we have send 10.000 mt of semi finished material having material code xxxx for job work to AAA Vendor and will receive back 9.500 mt of material having material code yyyy with the invoice of job work charges.  The difference of qty (10.000-9.5000=0.500) in material is due to the wastage in the form of scrap. Now we have to deposit the excise duty on scrap (wastage) to the excise department because the vendor is selling this scrap to another customer, where as we have not charged any excise duty while sending material for job work. For depositing excise duty to the dept we have to issue invoice for the same qty to the vendor whereas scrap is already with the vendor. Also we have to book the vendor invoice for job work charges on the material received.
    Regards,
    Santosh

    hi,
there are some ways to solve this issue
if u know the scrap qty before sending the material to vendor, put -ve qty in BOM in the name of scrap material number, whenever u receive the parent material scrap also get into account of our inventory as well as excise books in terms of value. further you need to do 542 for scrap material alone for qty updation in excise and inventory.then we can raise the sale invoice against that vendor and sale the scrap with TCS (Tax collecting from source)
try this iam sure it will work

  • How to capture the excise duty on free material purchasing?

Scenario is like this if we purchase a lot of material then vendor gives free on some qty. then we make a purchase order for free material with tax code zero. Vendor supply that free material with excise duty. Now we do GRN & take part1 entry. How to capture part II entry. This is capital item.

If you are following J1IEX route , then Tick MRP indicator & enter Excise duty values & take Part2.
It is assumed that all other master data like chapter heading etc are set.
    Hope this will help.

  • Excise duty for some line item of material document is not posted

    Dear CIN Exerts,
In my Scenario user is Posting Excise invoice for every GR (105) by J1IEX to generate Excise invoice.
In some Past cases, if there are more then one line item in a GR then Excise value for some material is not showing (May be that time user not Did J1ID (Excise rate maintenance ).
Now the problem is that we wants to post excise Duty for those material WRT  material document for whom it was not posted.
Please let me know that how can we do so (excise posting against Material document) so that it get reflected (for those line items for which Excise deuty is not posted)   in MIGO > Document Display> Excise items tab .
    Regards,
    Ashutosh

Excise posting is not recommended by sap for movements 103 or 105.

  • For STO with billing how to take material in plant stock without cancelling excise duty

    Hi,
Please suggest for STO with billing how to take material back in plant stock without cancelling excise duty.
    Scenario is
Material transffered from manufacturing plant to depot, material is in transit now, but due to some reason material calls back to manufacturing plant.
Since the excise invoice is raised and material move out of factory client can not cancel excise invoice from legal point of view & client has to pay excise duty for the material movement.
Please suggest how to take back goods to manufacturing plant without cancelling excise invoice.
We have suggested client as there is no provision to take back goods to manufacturing plant without cancelling excise invoice
and to take back material to manufacturing plant stock they have to cancel excise invoice and other related documents.
But client is asking for another options. So requesting you to please suggest any alternative ways for same.
    Thanks,
    Amit

client can not cancel excise invoice from legal point of view & client has to pay excise duty for the material movement
I don't think, there is a statutory rule which says, manufacturer should not cancel the excise invoice generated on their Depot plant.  Justification can very well be given to Excise authorities and hence, ask your client to follow the normal process by treating this as Depot returns.

  • Inventorized Excise duty

    Dear Experts,
i am facing following problem during part 2 posting of excise invoice -
Material is assigned with Chapter ID
The material cenvat determination has been maintained
Excise tax rates have also been maintained
System has loaded Excise duty amounts on material at the time of GRN and no amount is available towards Excise duty for part 2 posting of Cenvat.
Kindly suggest  the reason of such system behaviour
Over and above this if vendor excise indicator is not 1 in j1ID, still system allows to post excise duties in part 1 capturing within GRN. pleaseclarify whether this is a standard SAP behaviour or some thing is wrong in our system.
    Regards,
    Pawan Khurana

    HI Pawan,
The condition types JMIP for the BED is an inventorized condition types ment for duties to be loaded on the material value at the time of GR (MIGO), and JMOP also for BED is an non inventorized condition types ie to say while doing GR (MIGO) system will not load the duty value on the material with the aid of the account key VS1 it will be post to seperate Gl acc ment for excise posting.....
The way i see the person who has cretaed the PO has selected the wrong tax code while creating the PO by mistake so this tax code which is linked to the condition records containing condirion types which are meant for nondeductible taxes therefore while doing MIGO the values are getting loaded on the material in spite of hitting the excise accounts.
Remedy is to reverse the GR done and change the PO in ME22N and now this time select the correct tax code which will pull deductible condition types from the records.

  • No excise duty for exports

Just so that I don't violate forum rules. I searched this forum for the keywords "Exports Excise Invoice". Did not find a question in the first three pages. So, I am posting mine.
    Hello,
I'm working on a export scenario, I want the excise invoice NOT TO capture excise duty (none of these BED,AED,SED). I am not sure but I think it's called ZERO Duty Excise invoice. In exports, as we all know exports are excise exempted.
There are several items in the invoice(approx 15 items), unfortunately in my case the excise invoice is capturing all of BED,AED,SED for each material and my Excise Duty total is exceeding the total invoice(VF01). Which should not be the case.
Simply put my excise invoice should be similar to my commercial invoice in terms of Net value and each material value and it should print Zero Excise duty for each material.
To achieve my objective can I go to FTXP and for the TAX Code maintained for UTXJ put zero for BED,AED,SED and also make the excise condition types statistical in my pricing procedure.
    Is this the right approach?
Edited by: SAP SD_Newbie on Sep 11, 2011 7:30 PM
    btw, I am using TAXINJ
Edited by: SAP SD_Newbie on Sep 11, 2011 8:01 PM
To make my life miserable, they are using the same Document and Same pricing procedure for other exports scenario where it is mandatory to capture excise and other taxes(can't argue it's their requirement). So the second option of making the tax condition types statistical is ruled out. So, apart from FTXP do I have any other options.

Same pricing procedure for other exports scenario
where it is mandatory to capture excise and other taxes
It is nothing wrong capturing ED in export invoice but it should be statistical.
my Excise Duty total is exceeding the total invoice
Check in J1ID > Excise Tax Rate as to what percent has been maintained for those chapter ids.  System will calculate based on this assignment only.

  • Debit memo excise duty calculation is wrong

    Hi,
Basic excise duty is wrongly picked in to debit memo as explained below
    1) Depot sales order: creted for qty 1
       Basic excise duty 80
    2) delivery created:
3)depot excise invoice creted: Adjusted depot stock aganist plant excise invoice 123 and basic excise duty is 100
    4) created depot invoice; CAPTURED BASIC EXCISE DUTY IS 100 which is correct (356 movement type assigned to basic ex duty in pricing procedure)
    Depot returns:
1)returns sales order created with referance to depot invoice
copied basic excise duty as 1000 (which is correct)
    2) cretaed credit memo request: Here basic excise duty is 80 wronly copied from depot sales order instead of 100
    Please provide the solution
    Regards,
    ramesh

    Dear Lakshimipathy,
    Thanks for your response
The excise duty combination is same in both returns order and credit memo as mentioned below
    Variable key
    country
    plant
    control code
valid from 2010/02/27   valid to 2010/02/27
    condition supplements
Country         name                                amount        unit       delition  id
    JEXP     IN: A/R BED %     10.000      %     flaged
And in pricing procedur6e of the returns order is neccessay 356 alternative calculation type
as i mentioned above valid date has been expired and marked for delition how system is determinng excise duty for retuns order. please suggest
    Best regards,

  • Excise Duty Calculation on Depot for Trading Material

    Hi,
Following are the details about my client requirement:
    1. My client has a depot plant dealing with trading material and no manufacturing activity.
    2. Present Scenario:
    Material Purchase price: 100
    Excise Duty: 14
    Sec E.D: 2
    Hr.Sec E.D: 1
    Material Sales Price: 200
    Excise Duty: 28
    Sec E.D: 4
    Hr.Sec E.D: 2
    3. Expected Scenario:
    Material Purchase price: 100
    Excise Duty: 14
    Sec E.D: 2
    Hr.Sec E.D: 1
    Material Sales Price: 200
    Excise Duty: 14
    Sec E.D: 2
    Hr.Sec E.D: 1
For the above the price will be changed at a Condition record level.
There are no standard functionality available in standard SAP kindly advice on some workaround for the above requirement.
    Thanks in advance.
    Madhan

    Hi Prakash & Sandip,
Let me thank you for the response. The excise calculation as pointed by you is right. For material price of 100 (BED = 14; SE Cess  = 0.28 & Hr.Sec Edu Cess = 0.14).
Now my query is when there is a Material price increase in case of trading material Which is 200 (BED = 28; SE Cess = 0.56 & Hr,Sec Cess = 0.28). Presently system calculates Excise duty on 200.
Since it is a trading material there is no value addition to the material Excise duty should calculate on Rs. 100.
    Is there any workaround available?
    Thanks & Regards

Which they are not availing the credit and is getting inventorised that is the excise duty is getting uploaded on the basic price of the material.

    Hi,
Which Tax procedure you are using? TAXINJ OR TAXINN?
If TAXINN then maintain condition records in FV11 for the inventorised condition types like JMIP.., etc.and use that tax code in your PO.
If you are using TAXINJ, then crete Tax code in FTXP,maintain 100% against inventorisd BED condition type and maintain rates in J1ID.Use that taxcode in PO.
Then when you make GR your BED,ECess will get loaded on material.
    Hope this clarifies you.

  • Excise duty and material coding

    hai all
how will you map excise duty in sap R/3 ?
clearly explain whether we can maintain it simply in condition type and assign it to a calculation schemas while raising PO?
how is material coding done in MM?

    Hi,
You will have to maintain the material number in Excise Rate Maintenance Table (T Code - J1ID). Here, maintain proper material & chapter ID combinatinon & if you want to avail MODVAT benefit, also maintain Input Output mateial at CENVAT details. Then the proper excise duty will be populated in conditions tab of PO depending upon your plant & vendor details. The excise duty fields also have to be maintained at your tax code.
Material coding is done in MM as per your business requirement

  • Change Excise Duty Group on the Material Master

What are the steps to change the excise duty group in the Material Master (MARC- OITAXGRP)? I am getting a message 'Excise duty tax group cannot be changed due to posted stock'.
We realised some of materials have been setup with incorrect excise duty group at a few plants and there have been a lot material movements posted (101s, 301s). But is the best way to fix this?
Do we have to reverse all the documents or is it good if we zero the inventory and then it will allow us to change?
Is a direct table update of the table an option?
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance
    Srini

you can't change the excise duty group if there is a stock for the material.
there is a steps that you need to follow if you inisist to change:
    - zerorize the stock in the current period (all stock types)
    - zerorise the stock in previous period (all stock types)
    - then only you can change the excise duty group.
these steps can only be carried out when the two posting period are still open, so normally you should do it at month end.
