Default sip: adress when sending mail through scsm 2012 console

As the title states, if i attempt to send email to a user by using the "people picker" option in a work item, Outlook opens and writes sip:[email protected] in the adress field.
Im using SCSM 2012 sp1 and the Exchange connector 3.0. Notifications and so on seems to work but my analysts are quite furious about having to erase the first four characters before sending a mail..
Is there some part of configuration I have missed?
Would greatly appreciate any feedback!

Hi,
For me all is ok.
Can you check if the SMTP Channel is ok to the SCSM user ?
You must verify this also on your Active Directory if the field email is ok.
SIP adresse is to use with Link or MOCS.

I am not able to figure this out. Can someone help? For HTML output you need to send it using the <tt>p_body_html</tt> parameter, not <tt>p_body</tt>.
PLEASE NOTE: I have intentionally removed the starting tags (&lt;) of ul and li so that the post will not be formatted.Posting code wrapped in <tt>\...\</tt> tags eliminates the need to resort to these bizarre circumlocutions.

I would try to telnet to the SMTP host first from your OS, to check that you have the correct host and port.
The AOL SMTP server may be blocked by a firewall, if you are not on a dial-up connection to AOL.
    try:
    telnet aol.com 25
You should get ' connecting to aol.com...'
    1-----------------------------------------------------
and if the SMTP server is accepting connections you will get.. somthing like..
    Connecting to aol.com
220 aol.com ESMTP Server (Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service 5.5.2653.13) ready
type 'HELO' and hit return, it will not apear on the screen you shoud get 'OK'
    2-----------------------------------------------------
if NOT you will get something like
Connecting To aol.com...Could not open a connection to host on port 25 : Connect failed
Hope this helps, Best Regards Gareth

  • I want to bcc myself when sending mail from one account but not another. When I check "automatically bcc myself", it bcc's me from both accounts.  Can I set this to work with only one account?

I have two mail accounts on my Mac.  I want one account to bcc me when I send emails from that account.  I checked "automatically bcc myself" under mail>preferences>composing, but both accounts bcc me when sending mail.  Can I set this to only bcc myself from one specific email account? Thanks.

It does not make sense that your ssh does not have a dash capital Y (-Y) option. It is in "man ssh", and my 10.6.6 has the -Y option, and I've had a -Y option since at least Tiger (10.4) days.
    My ssh is in /usr/bin/ssh
I'm not very good at X11 issues, so I'm just throwing ideas out there.
Does your broken account have a $HOME/.ssh/config file, and if so, what is in it?
Does the broken account have any $HOME/.x* or $HOME/.X* files that X11 might be reading to configure your X11 behavior differently from the new test account?
    $HOME/.Xauthority
    $HOME/.Xdefaults-<hostname>
    $HOME/.Xresources
    $HOME/.ICEauthority
    $HOME/.keymap.km
The above are a few names I found looking through "man X"
While I'm thinking about it, I assume that when going to the server, you are using the exact same user account on the server, so that you have a constant at least at that end.
    Have you tried trashing your
    $HOME/Library/Preferences/org.x.X11.plist
file, to see if that is affecting the broken account?
Again, I am just throwing out ideas to see if anything sticks.

If you are using Custom Notification XML, make sure to have StaticData element in it. StaticData defines the entitites that can be used in the notification template, and these entities attributes are used to define substitution tokens in the template.

  • "smtp error" in webmail when sending mails

    Hello,
"smtp error" in webmail when sending mails
    why?

With the very little data offered, I can only give a general idea.
"smtp error" usually means that webmail isn't pointed to a smtp server for sending out mails.
Webmail normally (by default) points to the same box it's on for sending mails out. You can change the host and port with configutil.
Some versions of webmail must point to iMS, and other mail servers won't work. Since I have no idea what version you have, I can't tell if this is a problem.
    Did it ever work?
    What version are you using?

I navigated to the location C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_13\bin in command prompt and typed the following command to create the keystore
keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias root -file mail_test_com.crt -keystore keystore.jksI was asked to set the password for keystore and then i was asked the question "Trust this certificate? [no]:" for which i gave yes.

Yahoo's been having persistently random issues for months. You can try just waiting it out, or delete and readd your yahoo account. When my accounts were affected I just used webmail to access my yahoo accounts until it cleared up.
Chances are it's all on their end and really all you can do is wait it out.

  • Sending Mail through Outlook using PL/SQL

I have installed Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1) on Windows Xp with SP 2 platform. My MS Outlook has been configured.
How could i send mail through Microsoft outlook by using PL/SQL Program.

How could i send mail through Microsoft outlook by using PL/SQL Program.Nonsensical question. MS Outlook is a mail client. A PL/SQL program is also a mail client.
Both these need to talk to a mail server. It does not make sense for one mail client to "+talk+" to another client for passing it e-mails that need to be send.
The mail client talks to a mail server using the SMTP ( Simple Mail Transfer Protocol ). There are also other protocols such as IMAP (open standard) and MAPI (Microsoft proprietary).
Oracle's PL/SQL environment by default supports SMTP via the UTL_SMTP, and UTL_MAIL packages - these provide the PL/SQL developer with an interface to use to send e-mails.
MS Outlook (client) does not feature anywhere in this regard, whereas MS Exchange as a mail server will (assuming it is being used on your network).

    > May be silly for you, but i like to know,
Anybody (different provider/domain) can send mails through his mobile to my
mobile (different provider/domain). How it is possible ?
I send an e-mail to you. My mail reader contacts my e-mail server. The e-mail server sees that I'm from the same domain. It accepts my e-mail - it ignores (for now) what the recipient's domain are.
My domain's e-mail server looks at the recipient and sees your domain. It now attempts to contact your domain's e-mail server. If it fails, it sends me an e-mail telling me of that failure.
If it succeeds, it tells your e-mail server that it has an e-mail for you from me. Your e-mail server sees that the recipient is on its domain. It therefore accepts the e-mail and delivers it to your post box. Your e-mail server is not concerned about the originator (me and my domain) as the delivery is for someone on its domain.
Only when the recipient and sender are both "unknown" to the mail server, it will/should refuse to accept that e-mail and try to relay it between one and another domain.
Bottom line - when sending an e-mail the SMTP server expects that you are either on the same domain as it (in which case it is there to service you), or that you are delivering an e-mail for someone on its domain (that someone being serviced by the server).
