Delay in Shipment of Droid X

I ordered the Droid X from a Verizon store on August 1st and was told when I called customer service on the 2nd that my shipment date would be August 5th.  I called today since I had received no shipment verification and was told that the shipment date has been pushed to the 23rd of August.
I am very much disappointed with the level of service provided by this company.  I will never do any business with them again!  Had I known or at least been told initially about the delay in shipment instead of being given false shipment dates  I would of never purchased this phone.  I eagerly await receiving my phone, but I don't expect to receive it anytime soon, but I do expect calling customer service everyday until I receive the item that I have already paid for.
The least they could of done is provided some incentive to Verizon customers for having them wait on receiving PAID orders instead of placing the blame on the manufacture and expecting customers to sit on their hands waiting for an item they have already paid for in full.
As soon as my contract is up with Verizon I intend to cancel my plan with them.  Very bad experience! Will never do business with a group that provides false information to thier customers as Verizon!

This backorder crap is becoming rediculous, this is becoming a practice with all carriers... They under order (23 Devices per store on release day, are you serious) on the devices that they know should sale well and then tell you that you can order online with free next day delivery and recieve it in a day or two but after they took your order and your money they then report back that your order is on back order at least a few weeks and if you decide to cancel order you have to jump backwards through hoops to even get them to concider a refund.... This is exactly why I am not open to order a replacement for the volume issue because I would snap if I recieved a used unit with the same issue as the original device and possible other issues.. I paid for a new device and I do not want to trade my new device for a "Like New Device" after having device for so little time, and even better I will have to be on a backorder status to recieve a replacement, this is more reason for me to believe that the device I will recieve will be a used device not a new one.
And then to add insult to injury, they are starting to request customers to pay for device a second time to have a replacement sent out (And refunded after original device is returned) when the issue that the customer may be having is caused be the product that they bought that was flawed... I have no real complaints about my Droid X but the level of craziness dealing with the sales and replacement of this device is getting out of hand in my view.

  • Laptop has been delayed?

I orderred a laptop back on the 5th. it said that the pick up date for in store was the 13th. on the 13th i get an email telling me it has been delayed and to wait for an undefinide amount of time. I am just kinda looking for a time frame or what has happened? was it shipped, is it in transit? or is it on back order? just kinda want to know So i can try to plan for it, i live a good distance from the best buy an hour one way.

No one here can readily answer your question.  Most of those who read and respond in these forums do not work for Best Buy (myself included).  My guess is that there was a delay in shipment from the supplier, and that as of your date there was not yet a clear answer when more would be shipped to Best Buy.

  • ASCP should plan production of all lines of a Sales Order in the same IO

    Requirement details:
    1) We are running an ECC plan in OPM environment (Constrained Classic)
    2) There are 20+ manufacturing plants – all are equally capable of manufacturing any item
    3) Sourcing rules define the sequence in which plants should be loaded (first plant X, go to plant Y when capacity in plant X is full. Go to plant Z when capacity in plant Y is full… and so on.)
    4) Sales Orders are entered in a fashion where 1 SO = 1 container.
    5) There are 5-20 lines per sales order (for items A, B, C, D etc). Together, these items constitute a full container load (FCL)
    6) The composition of this FCL will vary from one Sales Order to another (e.g., customer 1 takes items A,B,C; customer 2 takes A,B,D; customer 3 takes A,B,C,D)
    7) To avoid transfers between plants, all lines of one SO should be assigned to same plant for production – even if that means delaying the shipment. The container will be loaded in that plant itself – instead of transferring it to a distribution center.
As per our understanding, ASCP does not support such a requirement. We attempted the following:
    1) Defined following profiles:
MSC: Maximum number of planned orders per demand = 1
MSO: Maximum Demands per Group = 1
MSO: Maximum Demands per Slice = 1
    2) Defined Demand Priority Rules:
    Schedule Date – 1
Sales Orders, Forecasts & MDS Entries Priority – 2
    3) If there are 10 SOs with the same Scheduled Ship Date, they were given Planning Priority as 1, 2, 3 … 10
    4) All lines of a sales order were assigned the same ship set.
With all the above settings, we could not achieve our goal. Any suggestions from the ASCP Gurus?

    Hi Navneet,
Thank you for your reply. To answer your queries:
    (1) We have a dummy inventory org mentioned as ship-from org in all SOs (calling it 'dummy' - as physically there is no such IO). This is done because the marketing team does not know from which IO material will be shipped (we do not have GOP in scope).
    (2) Sourcing rules mention that a demand in the dummy IO can be met by orgs X, Y, Z etc (each one with 100% allocation, ranks 1, 2, 3 etc). There are no sourcing rules for transfers between X, Y and Z.
    (3) The intent is to fulfill a SO from single org with none of the items internally sourced from other orgs.

    Parikshit

  • Device type to be used for Zebra 220XiIII Printer

    Hello All,
We are printing labels from SAP to the printer Zebra 220XiIII Printer using Adobe Print forms technology. When configuring the printer, we used the device type as PDF1. The print was fine in terms of data display and positioning of the text and barcodes but the issue is that it takes 30secs. to print each label. This was not acceptable as it is creating delays in Shipment.
To address the issue we changed the device type to LZEB3. The print was fast i.e., in 20 seconds the printer was able to print 5 labels but the font on the label is increased automatically because of which the data on the label is truncated.
Does any one have any ideas on what is the device type to be used and is there any specific font to be used?
Please note that we desinged the forms using ADOBE FORMS TECHNOLOGY. There are many notes in Service market place which are specific to Smart forms. Please come up with your ideas.
    Regards,
    Praveen T

    Hi Florian,
Thank you for your response. We were able to fix the issue by changing the Device type to LZEB2.
For some reason YZB200, YZB300 and other device types which we found in the device type wizard did not work in our case. We did not investigate the reason as LZEB2 worked and we have time crunch

  • Verizon process for iphones for existing customers......are you kidding me?????????

    Are you kidding me Verizon???
I did everything you told me in order to get my iphone right away.  I got up at 3 am on the 6th and your website was down more than it was up...by the time I was able to place my order you tell me you are no longer accepting pre-orders.  Try again on the 9th.
I stop in a store and they tell me they won't get any in the stores, I have to order on line or I will not be able to get my phone.
I get up on the 9th @ 3 am and place my order and they tell me I won't get the phone until the 18th.  I am in bed watching the news and they show a lady walking out of a store front with a new iphone.  Are you kidding me??? Was she an existing customer or not.  Who knows or cares.  I don't get mine until after the 18th.
So I go to a store front this morning and they have them in stock so I get my phone?  No because Verizon shipped the phone to me at 5 am this morning and they can't cancel the order.  They shipped it next day air with UPS but they didn't note for Saturday delivery so I won't get it until Monday....but there is another twist...the weather is bad and may delay the shipment...UPS can't tell me one way or the other so I may or may not get my phone on Monday and I have to stay home all day because they asked for a signature upon delivery.
Are you kidding me???  How is this customer service.  Verizon you asked for an email so you could anticipate how many iphones to order.  If you didn't get enough to service existing customers in a timely manner why didn't you tell us?  If you have the phones in the stores why didn't you send me an email saying that I could pick up my phone in the store and save you the cost of an expedited delivery from UPS?
So here I sit without an iphone. I've been a Verizon customer since they began.  I didn't switch to ATT when the iphone first came out.  I waited until they announced that they were coming to Verizon.  I did everything you asked me to and I still don't have my phone and am being put out to take off work on Monday or not get my phone until ???????????
If I ran my business this way I wouldn't have a business!
**bleep** in Columbus!   Are you kidding me????

Same thing happened to me.  Very frustrating.  My son and I were told four different things by four different reps and also from in store reps. We missed the pre-order, but my son went on-line at 3 AM on the 9th and ordered it.  Our I-phone was supposed to ship on the 18th so we cancelled the order and picked one up at the store yesterday 10 minutes after a rep told me I could cancel as long as it wasn't shipped out yet. Earlier another rep had told my son earlier we could bring the order number into the store and pick it up while another told him no you can't do that. After picking up the phone in store, I go online to cancel and can't find it anywhere.  I call and that rep tells me its just waiting for a tracking number to ship.  So within a half hour I have a second I-phone coming.  I called this morning and the order is now canceled, but I still have to deal with returning the other.  Had they told me it would ship today, I would have waited because my son didn't need it that bad, but what a frustrating experience.  Shame on you Verizon.

  • Haven't had this much fun writing code since....well, never.

I was EXTREMELY skeptical of F3/JavaFX after seeing some examples posted out there last year. It looked hokey and complex.
I started playing with JavaFX a couple of weeks ago (as a shortcut to a little game I was writing) and I have been hooked ever since!
The overwhelming productivity that JavaFX gives me in turning my ideas into reality makes me smile every ScaleTransition I start() and every onMouseDragged() I capture.
Kudos to the JavaFX team and even if the framework were to stall at version 1.1 (*cough* Oracle cough), I still have all the tools on the table that I need to be a happy little programmer.
I hope to see all of your creations for the JavaFX challenge (I am losing a LOT of sleep working on my project!)

Brianna, sounds like you are eager to get into that phone. We are also eager to get that to you. Based on the information you have provided there should be no delay in shipment. The tracking information is generated by the shipper when they first scan the package. I apologize on behalf of Verizon Wireless for any delay in providing the tracking information.

  • IMac 24" 2.4GHz ship estimates

I ordered the iMac 24" 2.4GHz and it says Ships 5 to 7 Business days. Does anyone know if theirs actually shipped at 5 days? Just curious, today is the 5th day!

I, too, ordered the 24" 2.8 Core2 Extreme iMac back on August 13th, along with a White Macbook. Both were ordered on the same day. On my original invoice receipt, it has it down that the Macbook mentioned the "Ships within 24 hours" and the iMac said "Ships 3-5 Days".
The Macbook arrived on the 15th, and I noticed that the online order status for the iMac changed from the original "Ships in 3-5 days" to a message saying "Custom Configuration" and "Expected to Ship 5-7 days". The only thing I changed during the time of purchase in the cart from the defaults was adding the extended apple care.
I Received a message from apple on the last day of the 5-7 day period saying that due to reasons beyond their control, the new shipping date was Aug. 28-30. I spoke with the Apple Business Agent that I bought the computers through, and he mentioned that they got a memo from Apple saying how MANY business agents were calling to complain about the shipping delays, and in Apple's memo it stated, and I quote, "...The delay in shipment of iMacs is due to a delay in shipping..."
Not sure what that means, but thought I might add my two cents to this thread.

  • Liquidated Damages calculation in Purchase Order

How to capture the Liquidated Damages calculation in Purchase Order in SAP MM module?
I have seen many posting with the answer that this is not standard process.
But this is very important process in Purchasing and Liquidated Damages is very important process, if in SAP standard system it is not available then how we can cater this required.
    Regards

Lets assume delivery date is 1 May and the vendor delays the shipment by 10
days, the GR takes place on 11 May. So the vendor has to pay liquidated
damages for 10 days. We can agree in beginning with the vendor how much
liquidated damages will be charged per day.
So now we can create two new fields in PO. One with Liquidated damages
charges/day and one with total liquidated damages. In this field, it should
look for the days difference between the GR date and delivery date in our
case 10 days * Rs.1000/day = Rs.10,000. This formula needs to be inputted in
    the total liquidated damages.
Now we can directly get it posted to IR or if we want it to hit the
material cost, we need to add new condition type to calculation schema and
apply this cost to the condition type by ammending the PO.
    Hope I am helpfull.

  • Anyone else having trouble with Fed-ex?

hi, my apple email said i will recive my ipod on the 1st,(shiped one the 27th) then 2 days later fed-ex said the 4th, then day later fed-ex said the 8th, its begining to make me mad. anyone else having probablems with fed-ex?

Yes, apple's original ship date was the 28th with a delivery date of oct 2-3. It apparently shipped on the 29th but shortly after I got an email from apple saying that my delivery date had been changed to the 8th. Dont think a one day delay in shipment should result in a 6 day delay in delivery but i dunno

  • Why to Use MDM

    Hi All,
    Could you plz tell me,
In R/3 also Master data is available. Why we are using MDM( For Master Data )  seperately ?
In R/3 Master tables are there (MARA, KNA1, VBAK), Then Why we are Designing seperate Repositories in MDM for store the data ?
    Regards...
    Murali.
Edited by: Murali Dusi on Jul 3, 2008 12:24 PM

    Hi Murali,
In R/3, Master data is available but we  use MDM( For Master Data ) separately because of some special features of MDM which are given below:
    CAPABILITIES OF MASTER DATA MANAGEMENT
    1. Synchronization:
An MDM layer improves the ability to share, consolidate, and analyze business information quickly, both globally and regionally. And it makes it possible to rapidly assemble new, composite applications (software that combines the elements of a business activity in a coordinated application and user interface) out of accurate master information and reusable business processes. For e.g. helps to maintain Universal dimensional structures for multi-organizational regulatory compliance.
    2. Reduced time to market.
MDM provides a single system for creating and maintaining product information, promotions, and rich, accurate consumer communications via online and traditional channels. One major retailer used MDM to reduce the time to introduce a new product from four weeks to one day.
    3. Supply chain improvements.
A single, accurate and agreed upon definition of products and suppliers, made possible by MDM, eliminates duplication, increases buying power, and provides insight into supplier relationships. A major European retailer is combining MDM with Web Sphere Portal to allow more than 30,000 suppliers to manage their own master information
    4. Revenue increases.
MDM contributes to better customer relationships. By creating a single 360 degree view of customers, MDM helps sales, marketing, and service teams better anticipate customer needs, provide targeted offers, and improve customer service. Revenue is increased by, for example, from providing more accurate and comprehensive information to the right customers at point of sale.
    5. Realize Internal Efficiency
An MDM layer enables companies to realize internal efficiencies by reducing the cost and complexity of processes that use master data (through fewer code clashes, less data duplication, better control over business processes, and so on). It reduces manual translation and analysis to improve repeatability and speed to insight.
    6. Finance and Operations:
MDM can lead to more accurate reporting and BI, more efficient planning and budgeting and enhanced ability for regulatory compliance.
    7. Sales and Marketing:
MDM can provide a "single view of the customer," leading to greater customer satisfaction. For example – Spend Analysis is one the trend that is used in Sales and Marketing with the help of MDM, say for example if we say HCL supplies computers to Wipro Technologies and also to Wipro InfoTech, now if HCL uses MDM than the data would be consolidated that is it would see that in total how many computers are being send to Wipro and accordingly HCL can plan out its business with Wipro like how much discount it has to give and all other business related issues.
    8. Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
MDM could mean reduced delays in shipment and fewer errors in item coding. For Example – Say we need to deliver a product to out Customer and if we have reliable and correct data, then we can send the Right Product to Right Place and at Right Time, because of which our delay in shipment would be less and it would also reduce the extra cost which the company has to pay for wrong shipment.
    9. Product developers:
MDM means faster product launches and a better handle on customer feedback. For Example- We have heard about the companies like Maruti which deals in Cars, now say if Maruti comes out with a new Car Model, then it generally happens that many Customers do the Advance booking for that particular car, now if the data is not maintained properly then Company would not be able to release the product in Time and also this would affect its image in the Market, however if the Product launches on time we will always
get good Customer feedback which would in turn increase the reputation of our Company.
    10. Customer Data Integration (CDI):
It is the process of consolidating and managing customer information from all available sources, including his contact details, customer valuation data, and information gathered through interactions such as direct marketing. CDI ensures that all the relevant departments of the company have access to the most current and complete view of customer information available.
    11. Interpretability:
Interpretability, or the ability to recognize and understand data, is one of the biggest challenges to implementing successful data quality programs. In many cases, stored data exists in a wide variety of formats. Also, the individual elements within a given record have not been separated or may contain misleading data. Before any data quality processes can be implemented, the source data must be parsed into the appropriate components so that it can be understood by data quality systems. In addition, certain data elements may need to be moved, deleted or formatted.
    12. MDM maximizes the return on SOA Investments:
Much of the hype and attention in service-oriented architecture (SOA) deployments has gone into web service creation and deployment and management standards and technologies. However, if data is inconsistent across applications, composite applications and business processes that cut across multiple systems and departments will not yield the desired results and benefits. For example, a composite application in a large multi-channel financial service institution that calculates a customer’s global credit risk will only work if that customer is described in a consistent manner across retail banking, brokerage, mortgage, and credit card systems. In a retail environment, a composite application that gets a customer’s order history from a data warehouse and recommends a related product requires consistent product and customer information across all the relevant systems. On a smaller scale, even business services to update an address or provision a service require semantic consistency of master data across customer relationship management (CRM), billing, and product systems.
Effective MDM helps organizations realize the full ROI potential from their SOA and business process management (BPM) investments.
    13. High-end scalability:
Scalability is the growth capacity of a system. If a company’s data volumes, transaction-processing rates and number of simultaneous users are modest and static, then most products should be able to meet those scalability requirements. But that is not the typical description of an MDM candidate.
Global enterprises with immense amounts of master data, millions of records, tens to hundreds of client business applications and thousands to tens of thousands of users are more the norm. Master data management is a large task. Smaller vendors with lesser-known products simply will not have the capability to support the capacities required.
    14. Customer satisfaction due to effective and efficient supply chain management.
    15. High productivity due to effective inters operability in company.
    16. Effective formulation of policies in company in respect of vendors and customers.
    17. In the absence of an MDM function, each system, application, and even department within the enterprise collects its own version of key business entities. Like the collection of customer data. Key attributes such as customer name and address information are collected repeatedly throughout the enterprise. Unfortunately, it is rare that this gathering process produces the same or consistent data about customers. This leads to the critical difficulty (aside from the storage costs of it) with such redundant data – poor data quality. According to a report from The Data Warehousing Institute, “Data Quality and the Bottom Line” by Wayne Ackerson, corporations lose more than $600 billion a year due to poor data quality, and most of that cost can be attributed to redundant and low quality master data.
    18. Organizations constant changes as new products and services are introduced and withdrawn, companies are acquired and sold, and new technologies appear and reach maturity. this changes can be managed effectively in MDM and can be reflected every where in the company data.
    19. Organizations can build a complete view of their customers, products, and other critical business entities.
    Regards

  • I have never been more furious in my life.

On September 20th, I ordered a silver 16gb iPhone 5S. Nearly a month later, Apple sent me an e-mail telling me an outstanding payment on my Verizon bill was preventing the iPhone from being shipped. I paid the bill, and waited. They delayed the shipment for unlisted reasons, and just this past evening they sent me an e-mail stating the bill had not been paid, and the order was canceled. So I waited a month for a canceled order. I bought an iPhone the first day it was available, and Apple/Verizon treating customers like this is deplorable.
My question is, where will be the most effective place to complain? Should I go to the store, or use e-mail? Phone? I plan on getting some sort of compensation.

I'm guessing that you ordered the phone as subsidized for Verizon? If so, they are the one that flagged your account for the late/non-payment issue. Apple then had to get approval from Verizon as to whether to ship or not. I'm also guessing that Verizon either did not report the payment, or even after reporting the payment decided you were a credit risk, telling Apple to cancel the order.
I suggest you contact Verizon first and get your account back in order before trying to order something from Apple that also depends on Verizon for completion. I find it a little difficult for you to be looking for or planning on some sort of compensation when the reason for the delay in the first place was your failure to pay an outstanding debt.

  • Question about buying Applecare for iPod online

When I purchased my iMac I purchased Applecare from my dealer, getting the little red box to bring home, and later I registered the Applecare online successfully.
Now I wish to purchase Applecare for a 5G iPod that is nearing it's 1 year anniversary. Because of timing I thought I would go to the online Apple store and purchase it that way. Proceeding through the steps, however, it looks like I can just order it online and have the little red box shipped to my home (for later online registration.) That worries me in case the package doesn't arrive in time to meet the requirement to do this within the first year.
Is there no way to purchase online, pay with credit card, and be sent to the online registration area immediately, without waiting for the little red box? (My dealer is out of Applecare boxes at the moment.)
20" Intel Core Duo iMAC   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Thanks again, Chuck
I am still having trouble with this. First, I am in Canada so go to the equivalent Canadian Apple web site and it is laid out slightly differently.
So I followed your steps to see how the US site differed and didn't see a "sale" graphic but instead a "save" graphic. (I assumed that's the one you meant) so I followed that path and indeed did find the Applecare for iPod link. I started to go through the steps there, but as far as I was going it looked exactly like what happens on my Canadian site where it ends up asking me for the shipping address and my Visa number and I get to chance to register directly.
But the local dealer that I use, has some coming in this week and will hold one for me, which should be in time. If something happens to delay that shipment there are other dealers in town I can try as well.

  • Where is my tablet/new customer woes

Ok, so I decided to leave T-Mobile to join Verizon for the better coverage and phone options. What a mistake that was. I placed an order online for a phone and tablet with overnight shipping on Friday the 13th. This process seemed easy enough and I entered my T-Mobile number to be ported. Monday rolls around and still no phone or tracking number. I try the chat support since I am a busy guy and do not have time during the day to call in. I find that I am forced to call in to deal with my internet order. I spend a little over an hour on the phone while I am at work to find out my phone did not ship because the tablet I ordered was out of stock. They were able to get me the phone delivered the next day on Tuesday but no updated info on where my tablet is. I also noticed I had a different phone number and figured it was temporary and maybe porting takes a day or two. Few days roll by and still not my correct phone number, get to call in and spend another few hours on the phone to get this straightened out. Apparently my number was released from T-Mobile on the 13th but Verizon somehow left my number in limbo. Here we are 12 days later, still no tablet and no email update on where it is. I tried the chat feature again, wouldn't you know they cant help me and the only people that can you have to call in for support. I do not have any more time or patience to spend several more hours on the phone to solve something so simple as getting new equipment. I am completely dumbfounded at the lack of communication within Verizon and how simple processes such as providing a new customer with equipment are poorly executed. I would greatly appreciate some help from Verizon on figuring this mess out. So glad I get charged two $35 activation fees on devices I have received late or not received at all.

Tehdargon, first of all we want to welcome you and thank you for choosing us as your wireless provider. It seems like we aren't to a great start with you. Let's turn this around. Did we advise you that the tablet was on back order? As a result this will delay the shipment of that device.
In regards to porting your mobile number in, have you had a chance to check the recent status of that number transfer request here: http://bit.ly/qDhvBY Once your bill is generated, we can adjust your account to ensure that you are billed correctly. No worries. We'll get this taken care of for you.
