Deleting Retrieval Argument generates DW Error

When attempting to delete a retrieval argument company_num from a report query which looks successful then generates an error: DataWindow Error "Line 22 Column 22834:incorrect syntax".
Then DataWindow "Unable to run 'C:\......xyz.pbl(dw.....pblname) attempt to rerun the report brings up DataWindow Error "Line 22...... again and again.
You finally have to say "No" to save and nothing has changed.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Your report has some corruption in the datawindow source.
Could be something with the retrieval argument but could also be something else.
The error says:
DataWindow Error "Line 22 Column 22834:incorrect syntax".
Try to export the source and then open the file in PowerBuilder in the File Editor.
Then go to line 23 (The line $PBExportHeader$ is extra to the 22 above).
And go to the character 22834 with the cursor. You should see the line and column number in the lower right corner of PowerBuilder in the bar. The error it encountered is the keyword or syntax just before that.
Change the name of the object on the first line to get a duplicate or working copy (The line with $PBExportHeader$).
If the corruption is not too bad you might still be able to correct the syntax by comparing with similar datawindows or an old backup if you still got one and import the object back in until it is accepted.
I have done this a few times to re-import datawindows into an earlier version by removing keywords that did not existed yet in the earlier version and changing the release number on the second line,

This is the response that sends the team apex.
Production is very different than our EA versions. On our EA site, we explicitly stated that an export from there may not work against 4.0. From your error, it looks as if the create_page_item procedure changed between EA2 and production. The only recommendation is to take an export from production and compare the statements used for create_page_item. If you can update your EA export to match the new format, you might be able to import but again, that action is unsupported.

I am getting the following error when I'm setting up the mailbox server as I'm currently doing a test virtual machine throughHyper-V, it seems to happen during the transport service phase of the installation which is 7/12

Most likely for these kind of issues its better you can delete the hyper-v machine and create a new os , ensure all the prerequisite are met and install the Exchange since this is a new installation.
But as a try you can try giving full access to the admin account to the data folder  'C:\Program
Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\Search\Ceres\HostController\Data'. which is giving the error and rerun the setup

How to delete lock entries generated by the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE"

I'm now trying to make an add-on program
which updates material master information by the background job.
To update the "Classification" view of material master,
the program calls the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE".
If the "RETURN" information is valid,
then the program calls "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT" (with the "wait" parameter 'X').
Contrary to my intention,
lock entries generated by the function module "BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE" remains after "BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT".
As a result, the material updated remains locked until the add-on processing ends.
To shoot this trouble, I read some SCN discussions below:

I quess/hope you want to remove locks in you caller program and not locks required by the update task processing to insure database consistencies...
Did you use the WAIT option in the commit FM, else if there are no other locks in your called program a call of FM DEQUEUE_ALL could solve your problem.

"Open Vi Reference" generates a Error 7

Hello,
I am getting "Error 7" from the "Open VI Reference" vi, the name of the vi is wired vi path input. The "Error 7" means that the vi cannot be found. So I went to "Tools ===> Options ===> Paths" and modified the Path so that Labview can find it. But for reasons I do not understand the vi I want to get a reference for cannot be found. So it leads me to beleive that the "Open vi Reference" does not use the path option to find a vi. Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks for getting back to me. I have attached a file fo the screenshot of the Block diagram. The "Open Vi Reference" is in the upper left hand corner, which generates a error when I have updated the path options to point to where the file exists.

You are allowed to have two activted installations, so if the first machine is the only machine with an activated installation there is nothing prohibiting you from installing and activating on the new machine.

Generate an error message that Adobe Reader 8 or later is required

Afternoon all,
I have created a form (in Acrobat 10 Pro) with a lot of scripts and we have determined that they do not all work as desired in Adobe Reader 7 and earlier.
Is there a way to generate an error message if a user opens this form with Adobe 7 or earlier?
We would like a message to pop up advising the user that Adobe 8 or later is required for this form.
It does not have to lock them out or anything, we just want to advise them.

This is how my bosses want this done. For one part, some of the functionality we are using just doesn't exist in Reader prior to version 8. For others, the users don't really have an option to go elsewhere.
As for thescript, i am not sure how to apply it. Where do i access the initial page's open event?
I do know how to enter document level scripts (this form has several) but what does "outside of a function definition" mean and how do i do that?

Go to the LSMW you have choosen and if it is Recording Method you are getting this error.
Select Goto-->Recordings.
Select the Recording you have choosen in the Edit Mode.
Click on the Defaults All Button and save the recording.
Now go to the option Convert Data and check .
You will receive a message ..Conversion program successfully generated.

When I try to start the SQl server service i get the following error:

Could not open error log file ''. Operating system error = 5(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105).
As a test I have made sure the errorlog file ,and the entire drive it is, has everyone full control permissions, but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this issue?

Try running:
SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('ErrorLogFileName')
Then verify that the account being used to run the SQL Server service account has access to the path output above. If possible, you could try logging onto the server with the same account used to run SQL Server then navigate to the errorlog folder.

Unfortunately, this code is not working, because the message is not appearing. I generated this piece of code with the WebDynpro Code Wizard, but even so is not working.
The standard application generates standard messages an places them in WDR_MESSAGE_AREA WD component, in the View MESSAGE_AREA, regarding blanks in text fields that are located on another WebDynpro component (FITE_VC_GENERAL_DATA, view GENERAL_DATA_VIEW). I put my own code in WD component FITV_FPM, in the LAYOUT_VIEW. But I wanna the messages also appear at WDR_MESSAGE_AREA WD component, MESSAGE_AREA view.
Do you know why I am having trouble generating an error message in this standard Webdynpro? It is not possible to generate an error message to appear in another Webdynpro component, but the same WD application?

you can store message ID, message no and message type in the context node in ur exit and make this context node interface enabled. Map this node to the component where you want todisplay the message. read the context node .
Call the method for displaying the messages and pass message id, no and type from context node.
invalidate this context node using method "invalidate" from interface if_wd_context_node.
