Desktop Manager White Screen

After sucessfully installing ver 4.3 for my Verizon Blackberry 8330's Desktop Manager to my VISTA PC I do not get an autostartup and when I double click the iconon the desktop all I get is a white screen.  Task Manager says its running, but nothing happens and I have to use Task Manager to shut it down.  I've re-installed to no avail.
Suggestions anyone?

This morning my computer froze on a white screen. I have no access to my control panel. I've tried rebooting, and disconnecting from the internet (no luck).

  • MacBook Pro can turn on and off, but does not start up. Stays on white screen with flashing folder icon, does not go to desktop.

MacBook Pro is not starting up. It just stays on a white screen with a flashing folder icon. Have tried restarting while holding the Option key, and the cursor becomes visible and movable, but it does not go to the desktop.

    Hello Sonya_Rose,
I found this article when researching the issue you describe here named A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac found http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1440.
    Check the mouse and keyboard
This issue might occur if a mouse or trackpad button is pressed during startup. Make sure the button isn't pressed.
If the issue persists, shut down your Mac with its power button, disconnect any external mouse and keyboard, then turn on your Mac with its power button. If the flashing question mark issue persists, reconnect the keyboard and mouse.
    Additional steps
If your Mac still starts to a flashing question mark, follow the steps below. If any step resolves the issue, you don't need to continue to the next one.
Select your Mac OS X startup disk with Startup Manager by restarting and holding the Option key. After your Mac starts up, restart again to verify that the flashing question mark does not appear.
If the issue persists, insert your Mac OS X installation disc. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc.
MacBook Air note: On a MacBook Air, there are two options for starting up from Mac OS X media: Either connect a MacBook Air SuperDrive to the MacBook Air via the USB port and restart the computer, holding down the C key during startup, or use Remote Install Mac OS X to startup from a system software DVD that's located on a partner computer. Once started up from Mac OS X media, skip to step 3.
Restart the computer, then hold the C key during startup.
From the Utilities menu, choose Disk Utility. Don't click Continue.
Select your Mac OS X disk (named "Macintosh HD" by default) in the left side of the Disk Utility window.
    Click the First Aid tab.
Click Repair Disk to verify and repair any issues with your Mac OS X startup disk.
After repairing the disk, try to start up normally.
Important: If Disk Utility finds issues it cannot repair, you may need to back up as much of your data as possible (or use Time Machine to back up to a different disk), then erase the disk and reinstall Mac OS X. You should back up important files and data before erasing a drive. Erasing deletes everything on the hard disk (including things on your desktop). Also, you can install Mac OS X onto an external disk, start from the external disk, and use Migration Assistant to transfer items from your usual internal Mac OS X startup disk to the external disk, then erase the internal disk and reinstall Mac OS X.
If the issue persists, and Disk Utility didn't find any irreparable issues, quit Disk Utility, quit the Installer, select your disk when prompted, and restart.
If the issue continues, reset PRAM. Note: After resetting PRAM, if the computer starts up normally, reselect the startup disk in the Startup Disk preferences.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, start up from the Mac OS X Installation disc and reinstall Mac OS X.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Screen broken and Desktop manager no connecting to backup

My screen is broken internally and I can not work with my blackberry ( Bold 9700), The screen is white with a black line and spot on the top left.. I am trying to backup my data using the Blackberry desktop manager, but it keeps trying to connecting with the phone with no vail (Although it is connected with the blackberry device manager and I can get some media files as a usb. I urgently need to backup my contacts and calendar, in order to update them on my new bold 9780.
    Can anyone help??

It sounds like more might be damaged than just the display. It is odd, though, that the media card shows but not the device databases. Hardware failures have been known to corrupt software, though.

  • Desktop Manager Will not Load. Hangs on splash screen when loading, then crashes

My desktop manager is not loading, and hangs whenever it is attempted to load. I have done a clean uninstall, removed rim registry entries, and did a fresh download and install 3 times with full shut downs between each attempt. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 with an HP Laptop. It is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Product Number LY080UA. I hope that is enough information, but I will give more if asked and informed how to gather such info.
When I right click on the Desktop Manager Icon, I choose to run as Admin. Once it loads the splash screen shows. After a little bit (4-6 seconds) a small Icon appears in my systems tab at the bottom right of my screen. This stays for a little while and then goes away. After this happens the Splash screen hangs, and get a black border around it. If I click on the Splash screen it grey out and says not responding, prompting windows to ask me if I want to wait for the program or close. If I choose to wait, it will sit there and do nothing. If I close it will prompt windows to "look for an error" but has not yet been able to return an answer.
When I log into safe mode, Desktop Manager loads, but does not work well as only a bare bones set of drivers are enabled. If I turn off all but the non-essential services off using services.msc it will load, but again the services needed for it to run and the services for windows to be fully functional are not on at all.
I have attempted to turn off all but the Desktop manager in the start up, using msconfig, but that does not help either.
I am at my wits end here, and would really like some help with this. It loads up (desktop manager) on my Desktop, but I am unable to log that mammoth box around with me while I travel.
Thank you for your time and efforts, I will be very grateful for any and all help.

I'm having the exact same problem here! I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Please help! This was posted a month ago.

Hi, I am not able to reboot my Mac desktop.

We need to get you moved. This forum is for mini-tower Macs built between 1998 and 2005 and doesn;t get as much traffic ("eyeballs on the problem") as the forums for newer Macs.
Please do "About this Mac" from you Apple menu and tell us what that says for "processor" and Mac OS version. Looks like this:
or this for later Mac OS versions:
With that we can figure out which of the two iMac forums you need and get the Hosts to move your post.

  • Desktop Manager Buttons and Sync Screen Inaccessible

Buttons and the sync screen of Desktop Manager are very difficult or impossible to read with dark themes like the High Contrast theme. It makes the software much less usable for folks with low vision or who prefer a darker theme. While I understand the desire to make software visually attractive it is usually best to leave form elements and labels un-styled and without fixed dimensions. If styling is used then one should go all the way and style both background and foreground colors so non-default themes will still be usable. I'd like to attach a screen shot, but these forums do not allow attachments.

    Hi dcolizza,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Are you syncing with an Exchange account in Outlook or personal folders in Outlook?
If you are not syncing with Exchange, try creating a new MAPI profile and setting up synchronization with that profile to rule out any issues with MAPI. This article should provide information on how to do this. http://bbry.lv/sKLgOV
    Hope this helps.

  • RE: Rentals - Desktop to ATV = white screen ??

    Hi
I rented a film onto my desk top and then transferred the film to ATV. ATV recognised the film and I made sure it had fully transferred from desktop to ATV before attempting to play. The film showed in rented movies on ATV and when I played it, It gave me the options of resume or play from start. Then when the film came on screen it had the widescreen view (i.e. letterbox) but with just a white screen beyond with no sound or image. When I scrolled through the film (pressing right on remote) some faint text appeared above timeline that changed with each click to the right - presumably showing scene title of the film as it was quite random text titles.
I'm confused as never had problem before, apple tv and itunes on desktop are up to date, accounts are authorised? It seems odd that ATV recognised everything and even began to play what looked like a film - just no sound or images
I contacted support and they allowed me to download it twice again therefore resetting the time to watch but when transferring the same problem occurred. Plays fine on desktop. Apple support also refunded me which was good of them.
Now since it has in the past worked ( I think even since I updated apple tv recently) I figured I would try again with a different rental before phoning support or doing anything like a restore to default on apple tv. However thought I'd see if anyone had had a similar problem?
    Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

On your invoice you will see a link to "report a problem". Email them the problem and they should sort you out. They didn't help me much on a technical level but they allowed me to re-download it a few times to try and get it to work. In the end they refunded me and then gave me five free song downloads for the inconvenience. Presumably you tried to re-set the ATV ?

My computer turns to a white screen. In the center it blinks a suitcase with a question mark in the center. I can not access my desktop. Is this a malware virus?

    Hi, likely neither.
What shows for boot choices if you hold alt or option key on startup?
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

  • White Screen - managed to reset (but why?!!)

    Hello all,
Totally new to this and my iphone went mad this mad this evening and had a white screen.
I managed to come on here and it told me to press sleep and the home button (that worked). It is the first time that it has done this, just wanted to know does this happen to peoples phones often?!
    Kat
PS does anyone know how to change the Alias name on the forum settings? I couldnt register the name I wanted and pressed lots of keys and it accepted it, and cannot find where it is - tried settings and this seems the only thing i cannot change! x

Like any computer the iPhone OS can crash. The procedure you followed reboots it. The problem is usually caused by a 3rd party app that corrupts memory. It's a good idea to do this on a regular basis (e.g., weekly), as it clears out working memory.
You cannot change your alias. All you can do is delete the account and create a new one. As you have only posted once you won't lose anything.

  • White Screen and mouse movement reveals desktop

Occaisionally when my iMac awakes from screensaver and/or sleeping all I see is a white screen.  When I move the mouse or use the trackpad the cursor reveals swatches of my desktop.  The desktop still functions once I can see where to click.  Any ideas on what causes this or how to fix it?

    Hello,
See if it's related to this...
