Destiny Midnight Launch: Glen Burnie Store (290)

I want to start off by saying the Glen Burnie store (store 290) handled the midnight release spectacularly. For the most part, I had no issues. They were well organized, nice, and efficient.
However, they claim they were unable to find any of the Destiny T-shirts. I was first in line, and the second person in line asked about them. They said they could not find any and they were sorry. It is my understanding that all of the stores should have gotten at least a few shirts (even if it sounds like it was as few as 10). Is it possible they were overlooked and they still have them (and a small bit of hope some of those preorder people could still get one)? They didn't even have the bags I've seen pictures of from other stores, perhaps they just didn't get their promo materials in time? I honestly would not have done the midnight release (on a work night) if I didn't think there was a chance of getting the t-shirt. It's fairly disappointing (though the employees were as nice as they could be about it).

If you're interested in the Gamers' Club Unlocked membership advertised in this week's ad and on BestBuy.com, then you will unfortunately need to return to your local store and return + repurchase the console. Both Destiny and the GCU membership must be purchased on the same transaction to qualify for the discount, and GCU memberships are currently only available in-store.
As far as the T-shirts distributed at Destiny midnight launch events are concerned, the best advice we can give would be to ask on-site reps if they were able to locate any when you stop by. As with other limited-time-only promotions, quantities of this offer are/were limited and we do not expect to receive any additional inventory moving forward.

Yes, if the store you chose as your in-store pick up location for Halo 4 is hosting a midnight opening, you do have the option of picking it up at midnight. Keep an eye on the Halo 4 landing page on BestBuy.com for a list of participating stores.

Will the Chermside apple store have a midnight launch for the ipad 3?

Does anyone know if the Chermisde or Robina store in Queensland will be offering a midnight launch of the iPad 3?
I would love to go and line up and wait for the launch and buy one in person, rather than waiting for it to arrive in the post.

If you're running Mac OS X 10.6.6 or newer, click on the App Store icon in the Dock, go to its homepage if needed, and look at the sidebar on the right.
If you're running an older Mac OS X version, it needs to be updated or upgraded first.

I have also tried the fixes offered in this forum such as using the "Other" mail in setting up the gmail accounts, and not using the dedicated gmail setting. I also went to google and signed in and enable the additional devices. I had the same problems with the original account I set up for gmail, but it corrected when i went to using the "Other" instead of the Gmail button. I was able to set up the new gmail accounts on my iphone without problem and on my husband's ipad1 for his gmail account. Just the ipad 2 is giving me problems. Again, thanks for any suggestions.

I am unable to launch the app store. It terminates with an error.

I have never been able to successfully launch the app store on my MacBook Pro. The icon momentarily appears in the dock then quickly disappears. An error is generated and is sent off to Apple, but nothing appears to have been done to either correct this problem or to give my any quidance in resolving this issue. Consequently, I am unable to upgrade to Lion (or to get anything else from the Apple Store, for that matter).

Sadly, that did not resolve the problem. The app still terminated and generated an error. Any other suggestions?

Launching a windows store app after installation using c#

I am just curious if there is a way i can launch installed windows store applications within an application. I mean when i click an app, it launches if installed or downloads and launch from windows store Thank you...

Hi Joseph,
You cannot force an application to download and install from the Windows Store, by-design. Only the user can allow an app to install.
If you have an app already installed, you can use the
file protocol or URI activation to launch apps which are designed to handle the specific resources, but you can't simply open another app without context.

IDVD will not launch to burn DVD

In my iMovie HD 5.0.2, the iDVD will not launch to burn a DVD. I have tried everything. When clicking the iDVD, it says to go to Finder to launch. In Finder, I go to applications and click iDVD and get:You cannot use this version of the application iDVD with this version of Mac OSX.
What are my options???

Just a little confused. I already have iphoto, imovie, garage band etc that would be in a ilife download so what are the benefits? Currently, when I click for software upgrades, there are none. Would downloading ilife really change anything?

Destiny Midnight Opening and Release Week FAQ

Destiny finally releases on 9/9/14 and select Best Buy stores will be opening at 12:01 a.m. that night to let you be the first to play. To help answer any questions you may have about the midnight opening process and the release in general, we’ve put together this FAQ.
Midnight Opening Questions
Q: How do I know if my local store is participating in the midnight openings for Destiny?
A: You can visit BestBuy.com/GamingEvents to find all participating locations for the Destiny release. Once you’re there, select your state to view a list of participating locations in the selected state.
Q: If I pre-ordered Destiny either in-store or for Store Pickup can I go to any Best Buy that is having a midnight opening to pick up my reserved game?
A: If you pre-ordered on BestBuy.com and your order is to be picked up at a Best Buy store it must be picked up from the location that you selected when you placed your pre-order. If you pre-ordered in-store, you will need to go to the location where your order was placed to pick up your game.
Q: Do I need to be at the midnight opening event at my location to pick up my pre-ordered copy of Destiny?
A: All pre-orders will be held for a specified number of days after launch so you do not need to attend the midnight opening. For BestBuy.com Store Pickup pre-orders, your items will be held for 8 days. For pre-orders placed in-store, your items will be held for 5 days. After those timeframes, any orders that have not been picked up will be made available for purchase to others.
Q: If I’m attending a midnight opening to pick up a pre-order, what do I need to bring with me?
A: If you placed your pre-order on BestBuy.com for Store Pickup, please bring the following:
Your government-issued photo ID
The credit or debit card used for the purchase (if a credit card was used)
Your order number
If you placed your pre-order in a store, please bring the following:

Q: I didn’t pre-order a copy of Destiny. Will I be able to show up at a midnight opening and purchase one?
A: Pre-ordered copies of the game will be held and processed first during the midnight opening. Any copies still available after all pre-orders are accounted for will be made available for purchase.
Q: Will I be able to get the advertised Destiny T-Shirt if I attend a midnight opening?
A: Our midnight opening stores will have a limited number of Destiny T-Shirts for those in attendance. These will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and will only be available while supplies last. Stores will have sizes ranging from small to extra large of the shirt, but again, they are limited quantity and only available while supplies last.
General Release Questions
Q: I pre-ordered Destiny for Store Pickup. Will I receive an email when it is ready?
A: You should receive an email the day before release indicating your order is ready, but you will still need to wait until the release date of 9/9/14 to actually pick up the game.
Q: I pre-ordered the Digital Guardian Edition of Destiny. When will I receive my download?
A: The codes for the Digital Guardian Edition will begin to go out shortly after midnight CST on 9/9/14.
Q: How will I receive the Vanguard Armory pre-order bonus if I pre-ordered Destiny?
A: The codes for the Vanguard Armory pre-order bonus will be included in the packaging of the game.
Q: I am a My Best Buy member and should receive $10 in reward certificates for pre-ordering and purchasing Destiny. When should I receive this?
A: The 500 point bonus equal to $10 in reward certificates will post to your My Best Buy account within 15-20 days of the pre-order being fulfilled.
Q: There is an offer this week to get a free Gamers Club Unlocked Membership with the purchase of an Xbox One or PS4 console. Can I get this offer if I pre-ordered the Destiny PS4 Bundle?
A: If you pre-ordered this bundle and would like the free Unlocked membership, there are a couple ways to go about doing so.
If you placed your pre-order in-store with a deposit, the store should be able to add the membership to the pre-order redemption transaction.
If you pre-ordered for shipping or Store Pickup, your best option will be to fulfill your pre-order and then return and re-purchase it in-store with the Unlocked membership. This is to ensure that you still receive your $10 in reward certificates from our “Get $10” offer, provided you are a My Best Buy member, and because we are currently only able to process Unlocked membership enrollments in-store. If you are not a My Best Buy member and therefore not eligible for the “Get $10” offer, you could also cancel your pre-order and then purchase the console in-store with the Unlocked membership.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we aren't able to change the name associated with any pre-order. Friends and Family pickup options can also only be added to BestBuy.com orders at the time of checkout, and cannot be added once the order has been placed. You may, however, want to speak with a manager on duty at the store if you haven't already done so. While I cannot make any guarantees, they may be able to help you find an alternative solution.

Destiny midnight release

I was just looking at the midnight release stores for destiny, and my store is unfortunately not one of the midnight openings. Since I pre-ordered the ghost edition, I have no way of changing my pick-up store. Is there any possible way to add my store to the midnight openings? I know of at least 3 other people that also pre-ordered at this store and would love to pick it up at midnight.

It’s great to see that you managed to procure a pre-order for the Ghost Edition of Destiny! As an extremely eager and impatient gamer, I can completely understand why you’d want to pick up your copy right at midnight.
While many Best Buy stores are able to accommodate a midnight release for a title such as Destiny, there are some stores that aren’t participating for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, we don’t have the ability to influence which stores will be participating. However, the store lists are always subject to change, so I’d suggest keeping an eye on the Destiny page on BestBuy.com for any changes!
