Details on dependencies of Software components(Sc's)

Hi Gurus,
Can you explain me indetail what are dependencies and what is the function of each of them:
sap-jee
sap_built
sap_jtech
and sappcui_gp
and what are .sca files, i am totally confused.
one more issue is in my track the above dependencies(sap-jee, sap_built, sap_jtech
and sappcui_gp) are added for ESS Sc's as well as MSS Sc's but only sappcui_gp is marked for developement why is it so?
please clear my doubts, sure points for best answer, thanks inadvance

Hi,
let me point out the "why are only certain SCs marked as developed" part.
There are SC files which are allowed by customers to modify and there are SCs which are not allowed by customers to modify.
For instance JTECHS/JEE/BUILDT are used to build your software, they are a kind of "libraries" only, necessary for developing J2EE applications, WebDynpro applications, etc, see the note sent in the previous post.
Example:
In case of ESS one requires the following SCs:
- SAP_ESS 
- SAPPC_UIGP
- SAP_BUILDT
- SAP-JEE
- SAP_JTECHS
The first two comes with sourcecode included, i.e. these you can develop, the rest are only libraries which you cannot alter.
It is easy to figure out which SC is meant for modification, there's a simple trick I can provide you:
- rename the SCA file in question to zip, since SCA is just a zip-like archive.
- Extract it.
- If you can see a folder SOURCEARCHIVES inside it means it is modifiable by you.
- If you can see only BUILDARCHIVES (meaning this SCs is meant for building other software) or DEPLYOARCHIVES (meaning the SC can be deployed) then you cannot use the SC for modification

          in details I can see this:

  • Importing Software Components into Integration Builder (Design)

    I have successfully installed XI 3.0 and have done post installation configuration.  Could you please point me 1.  how to apply the patches specified in the document
    I have created Technical system and Business system to associate with it. Now I want to import those software components from SLD into my design time Integration Builder.  While I do this I am gettin an error "Interal Occured" - Details of the error list 2 numbers one being Null Point Exception.  Could you please tell me what could be the possible problem and the way to resolve.  Is there a do it yourself kind of a document to learn development in XI, ie step by step instruction right from Data object, message object, interface object, business scenario creation etc.
    2. Is there a special step to follow to get the Adapters link up and running withing XI 3.0 web browser. Cos. at the moment, its invoking another window with local port number followed by :800, but it has an error saying "File Not found"

    Hi Shiva,
    your second problem should be resolved, if you apply all available Patches to XI 3.0 (i.e. until SP Stack 03). I guess, that also the internal error in Integration Builder will be resolved by applying the patches.
    There is an OSS note 670388 that explains how to patch XI 3.0. It should explain all your questions towards patching.
    I would suggest to apply all patches and then check again, if those errors mentioned still exist.

  • Software Components for BW-IP and PAK

    Hello Experts,
    I would like to know what all would be different Software Components which we need to install to work with BW-IP and PAK.
    I believe that SAP BW7.4 SP5 is the one to work on BW-IP. Is that the latest version ?
    If I'm not wrong, we need BPC license for PAK. Does that mean we need to install BPC 10.1 ?
    Let me know, if I'm missing any software components.

    Hi Jomy,
    for BW-IP with PAK you only need BW on HANA, most recent version is 7.40, SP06. For PAK you need a BPC license but this does not mean that you have to install the BPC Add-On.
    With BPC 10.1 BW-IP with PAK objects can also be used in BPC Environments of type 'unified'. Thus you get BW-IP, PAK engine with BPC features like work status, BPFs. For more details cf.

    All standard SAP products and software components are shipped by SAP (SRM etc)
    If you are planning to create a customer speicific components for the SAP SWCV, then create your own thridparty product based on SAP product, and then work on it. Now you can use dependency if you want make use of standard SAP delivered content.
    Generally , thirdparty product is created based on the vendor and all the swcvs are created under that. Then all IR objects follow the same.

  • Cannot Check In Software Components in Track Check In Tab

    Hi, SDN Experts.
    I am trying to setup a NWDI track. I have defined a new product, and a software component. I have also added the standard usages dependencies (SAP J2EE, SAP BUILD TOOL, and SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES).
    I went to the Change Management Service --> Domain Data tab. Ensure the domain setup right, then click on "Update CMS".
    I have also setup the "Runtime System" tab to define the Development system configuration.
    I saw the new track is created successfully in Transport Studio. But when I navigate to the "Check In" tab, the "Check In" button was grayed out, meaning now I am not able to check in the dependent software components.
    Can anyone advise me why the "Check In" button is grayed out?

    Now, I am able to see all 3 SCA files after my Basis admin perform the following tasks:
    1) Provide me the new CMS inbox directory path.
    2) Drop the three SCAs into the folder.
    And I updated the Check In directory with the path of teh CMS inbox where the SCA files stored.
    Now, I have done the Import-Check on all three SCAs. When I click on the "Import" button, the system was processing for long time and the import status return failed, then thrown this message:

    Best way to avoid the dependency issues is to use Maintenance Optimizer to download the stack.

  • Summary report to show all the software components and version installed

    We are using 64bit Windows 2003 and Hyperion Planning and Essbase in 2 separate servers. I am not sure whether Windows can have a summary report to show all the software components and version installed and show it is 32bit or 64bit version installed?

    Then proceed to repair your QuickTime. START / CONTROL PANEL / ADD n REMOVE PROGRAMS / highlight QUICKTIME and click CHANGE then REPAIR.

    Need Help.
    When we are trying to import Software components from SLD we are getting following error. Could not read list of software component versions from SLD. In Description  i am getting following two points.
    1. Could not read list of software component versions from SLD (COULD_NOT_READ_SWCV)
    2. User credentials are invalid or user is denied access
    We have tried following
    1. LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI are working fine.
    2  SLDAPICUST is ok
    3. In nwa connections are available for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI.
    Request you to let us know how to resolve this issue.

    I'm having problems with this message in my repository when I try to create an Interface determination with two interfaces mapping: "Message interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system".
    note: I have read all the posts about this problem but nothing has solved it.
    I will describe more or less how is my SLD.
    First all, my Technical System is an Web AS ABAP (non a third party).
    I have created two receivers determination, with out problems, then, created the interface determination, with two Inbound interface, BUT, when I create a condition, the message appears, and the XPath doesn't shows the nodes for do the condition..
    I have checked the GUID, and that's good.
    NOTE: I have a second SWC but this is a third party... and when I test to do the same in this system, I have NO problems... so.. what is wrong with the Web As ABAP?

    When I check the interfaces on the business systems of 1 technical system, none of them have sender or receiver interfaces, hance I can't use them. The interfaces should ofcourse be on the Directory.
    I have deleted the business systems and the technical system and created them again, but no result.
    The product and software componets are in the technical sytem and business systems.
    Any help would be usefull.

    If someone will search in the future for this error, here is the solution:
    The error occurs if the GUID of the software component at the SLD is different to the one at the repository. Please compare the GUID at the SLD -> Administration -> Content Maintenance -> Dropdown "Component Version" -> Dropdown "Software Component Version". At the Integration Repository you select the Software Component Version at at the tab "Keys" you find the related GUID.
    The error occured because the Software component has been created manually at the system. The repository content came from another system via import with own SLD (and because of that with another GUID for the software component).

    Essa é a mensagem de erro que estou tendo ao tentar configurar o XPath Receiver Determination do cenário SRVSC_WebAS_Outbound_ServiceStatusCheck.
    Já notei que a mensagem dá porque o meu BS da NFe não está com o SWCV SAP SLL-NFE 1.0. Mas isso só no ID porque no SLD ele aparece. Não sei mais o que fazer pra ele aparecer no ID. Já eliminei o BS, executei um refresh do cache do SLD, depois executei um refresh full e nada! Quando eu crio o BS novamente, ele vem sem o SWCV SAP SLL-NFE 1.0.
    Tive que configurar o XPath na mão para todas as SEFAZes!!!
    Já li vários threads a respeito desse erro e executei vários procedimentos sugeridos, mas nada.
    Alguém já possou por isso?!?

    I am a regular user of I-tunes but recently i dont know why but I got some error in Launching I-tunes. So as recomonded by "Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7" section. I started removing the products. But after removing Quick time, I tried to remove Apple Software Update but while uninstalling it gave error that "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." and the uninstall rollbacks.
    Please send me a feasible solution to this problem.

    Uninstalling the iCloud control panel should allow you to do that folder deletion.

    This is an Idoc sender - SOAP receiver scenario.
    When I try to create the receiver determination, I get a warning message -
    " Message interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system"
    I checked all the usual things & also reimported the IDoc metadata.
    Any suggestions are appreciated!

    Hi Rachana !!
    You should also check  if the given idoc type in mapping is the same that in the WE20.
    Also try to reactivate your integration directory objects by making any dummy changes.
    Check your receiver business system (I mean XI), that the logical systems are ok.
