Diff: Linkage of Credit memo and Dispute Case in EHP 4 and EHP5

Hi Experts
I am bit confused ...on the Linkage of Credit memo and Dispute Case in EHP 4 and EHP5.
Does the following statement is valid in EHP4 or EHP5.
"You can add a credit to a dispute to close it or reduce the amount disputed."
If it is possible in EHP 5 or EHP 4, please let me know what is the procedure to follow?
If i need to activate anything in SFW5, please provide what is the Business function i need to activate.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Meenkashi.N

Linking a credit note has nothing to do with EHP4 or 5. You have to do a config sertting:
Dispute Management-Process Integration with Accounts Receivable Accounting-Assignment of Open Credits and Payments-Activate Assignment of Open Credits and Payments
And make sure the business adapts the correct process:  When you reverse a charge on a debit invoice you have to make sure the credit is properly linked to the debit note.
If this is the case then the credit will show up in the dispute case.

Richard

    Dear Richard,
I'm facing same issue in my system.
I've already made the customization in my system but still i'm facing issue.
I'm not able to get credit in my dispute case. Could you please help me out.
Also help me to understand your below statement.
"And make sure the business adapts the correct process:  When you reverse a charge on a debit invoice you have to make sure the credit is properly linked to the debit note"
    Best Regards,
    Jain

Please note you have to perform the config - and then run the FOAP programs to attach and then match the credit to the dispute.
Please note the open item within the dispute will be cleared and a residual posted against the customer whilst clearing the credit note.

  • SD Credit memo from Dispute management

    Hi Experts
I need help in creating credit memo from Dispute management. I have contacted SAP for it and they suggested that it would be customization. Requirement is to create Credit memo directly from Dispute management module (Having a tab in UDM_Dispute ). Once i select that option it should create VA01 credit memo belongs to dispute details (assuming dispute was created belongs to SD billing document).
Can anyone direct me on which BAPI to be activated and which workflow event to get triggered etc?
Appreciate any help and points will be rewarded.
    Thanks
    Aleem

    Hi Aleem
Were you able to accomplish that? If yes, can you please share the details? We have a similar requirement and want to initiate a credit memo request from dispute case.
    Thanks

    Thanking you
    Arun

    Dear Friends
I am just clearly adding question with exact requirement.
material per pc 450/- and scheme is 5+1
order qty 5   Price is 450*5=2250
    dlv qty 6
now client generate credit memo request for one pc in sap it is coming Rs450/- pc
but client requrement is not this
2250/6=Rs. 375/- that mean they will give rs 375/- per pc not Rs 450/- per pc. for that what should i do customisation for credit memo request pricing.

    Hi Charan,
Has vendor sent you a credit memo or a subsequent credit?
Usually a credit memo refers to a goods return and a subsequent credit to a prior invoice that was set with a higher price than it should (for example).
So you can simply make a credit memo against the PO with the value/quantity in the vendor credit paper.
Go to MIRO and choose transaction 2 Credit memo, insert the original PO and adjust value/quantity. After saving the document the PO / Stock and value are updated.
    Regards.

Debit note and Credit note?  What is the purpose?  How we create?
    1. A transaction that reduces Amounts Receivable from a customer is a credit memo. For eg. The customer could return damaged goods.  A debit memo is a transaction that reduces Amounts Payable  to a vendor because, you send damaged goods back to your vendor.
    2. Credit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a credit memo for a customer. If the price calculated for the customer is too high, for example, because the wrong scale prices were used or a discount was forgotten, you can create a credit memo request. The credit memo request is blocked for further processing so that it can be checked. If the request is approved, you can remove the block. The system uses the credit memo request to create a credit memo.
You can use credit memos in Sales and Distribution (SD) for assigning credit memo requests to the open invoices and in Financial Accounting (FI) for assigning  credit memos and payments to the open invoices and carry out clearing with them.  If you use both Financial Accounting (FI) and Sales and Distribution (SD),  there is a 1:1 relationship between the credit memo request and the credit memo item posted in Financial Accounting (FI). As soon as you bill the credit memo request together with other sales orders, or distribute the items of one credit memo request to several billing documents, the assignment is no longer valid and the system will not process it.
For  credit memos, credit memo requests, and payments, you have the following assignment options:
    - Assignment to a single invoice
    - Assignment of a partial amount to an invoice
    - Assignment to several invoices
When you post  credit memos, the payment programme processes them automatically. If the credit memo is specifically related to a particular open invoice item, the payment program automatically attempts to offset the credit memo against the open item. If it is not possible to completely offset the credit memo against an invoice, you can post a debit memo to the vendor, who is to reimburse the amount.  Then you can apply a multilevel dunning program.
    3.  Debit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request a debit memo for a customer. If the prices calculated for the customer were too low, for example, calculated with the wrong scaled prices, you can create a debit memo request. The debit memo request can be blocked so that it can be checked. When it has been approved, you can remove the block. It is  like a standard order. The system uses the debit memo request to create a debit memo.
    4.  As mentioned above, creating a credit or debit memo request enables you to create credit or debit memos based on a complaint. For this first create a sales document with the order type for a credit or debit memo  request. You can create the debit  or credit memo requests in the following ways:
    – Without reference to an order
    – With reference to an existing order
Here you enter which order the complaint refers to.
    – With reference to an invoice
Here you enter which invoice the complaint refers to.
In all cases, you specify the value or quantity that should be in the credit or debit memo
    5. You can block the credit or debit memo  request from being billed in Customizing. Go to Sales -> Sales Documents -> Sales document header -> Define sales document type and select the billing block field in the billing section.  This request can later be reviewed along with similar ones, - if necessary, by another department. The request for a credit or debit memo  can then be approved or rejected.

  • How to change Net Due Date in case of Credit Memo..

    Hi Experts,
In our system currently when we create credit memo using tcode FB75 system makes the invoive due immediately.
We wanted to make this net due date dependent on payment terms given by us. Please let me know how can I achieve this..
Please let me know if there is any user exit there or the configration path to achieve this...
    Regards,
    Vidya

This is a standard SAP functionality. Usually a credit memo is referenced to an invoice and if you don't have a reference to an invoice SAP would consider that credit memo as due immediatly.
If you have an invoice to be referenced to this credit memo enter the invoice number in the invoice reference field in FB75 > payment tab and then enter the payment term. If you don't have an invoice reference enter V  in the invoice reference field and then the payment term, system will calculate net due date based on payment term.

  • Exice tax in case of credit memo's

    Hi All,
I have a scenario where in we are  supplying some matrrials to our customers . This material also has the federal excise tax which we charge in the form of a condition type and which is charged on the unit price of the material .
    For Ex ;
    Material ABC - PR00 - $ 100
    Excise tax - (XYZ) - $ 2.00
My business user says that whenever they supply materials to their customers (say 10 quantity ) , they initially suply through a sales order which is a very normal scenario.
Assuming that the end user uses only 5 out of the 10, my business creates a credit memo for the remaining 5 on the end user . This is the present process.
But since my business says that they will pay back only the tax part to the end user and not the unit price of the material ( $ 100 in the above example for remaining 5 qts) , they don't want to issue a credit memo with the material ABC( since it has  the unit price + tax ) in  the sales order .
My business is coming up with a suggestion saying that we can create a dummy material ( say XXXX) and add this as a second line item in the sales order . And against this dummy material the excise amount will be charged . This is because they feel that whenever they create a credit memo they will use this dummy material (XXXX)and not the original material ( ABC) . They say they have some SoX compliance issues.
The above idea seems to be meaning less and sensless to me as this is not the best practice and secondly since this is a dummy material , I will get into problems maintaining stock and  while doing a delivery ,PGI etc ...
My question to the forum is that , is there a way where in if I create a credit memo to  the customer , I must be paying back only the tax amount (XYZ) and not the entire amount ( base price + tax).
    To Illustrate the above example:
The original sales order will have netvalue of ($1000 ( $100 * 10)
    Excise tax as ($ 2*10 ) = $ 20
so When I create the credit memo for the 5 unused quantities I should pay the end user only $10 ($2 * 5).
I am not sure whether (creating a Invoice correction request RK, will solve this issue).
I need some really good recommendations to handle the above scenario.
    Thanks
    Sridhar.
