Difference in stock

Hi
We are dealing with two products. One is manufactured items(we manufacture) & traded products(we buy it &sell). The issue is the increase/decrease in stock value appearing in P/L  is not tallying with the same in balance sheet.Below is the details of the transaction.
Manufactured goods:
Cost of sales                    ****
Increase/decrease in finished goods          ****
Total                         ****(A)
Traded goods
Cost of sales                    ****
Purchase offsetting a/c               ****
Total                         ****(B)
Total increase/decrease in stock as per P/L = A+B (1)
Total closing stock as per B/S is
Finished goods of manufactured item+Stock of traded products
Increase/decrease in stock=OS-CS (2)
Now this 1 & 2 should tally. But it is giving some difference.
Please advice me how to proceed.
Thanks

  • Difference between stock and non stock material

what is the difference between stock and non stock material. example of stock and non stock material?

    Hello,
    Stock Material
Material that is constantly kept in stock .A stock material has a material master record and is managed on a value basis in a material stock account.
    Ex: Raw Material.
    Non-stock Material
Material that is not held in stock because it is consumed immediately.
    Ex: Office Stationary.
You need to create purchase order and accounting document for payment but the stock balance is always zero as it is issued out immediately to the various department.

  • Difference between Stock transfer and transfer posting

I am little confused about the difference between stock transfer and transfer posting. Please clarify
<<Locked - reason: failed to search before posting question>>
Edited by: Csaba Szommer on Feb 9, 2011 9:10 AM

    Hello,
Transfer posting may involve or not involve the physical goods transfer.  In the system you might do transfer posting from quality to unrestricted, or from one store location to another.
In transfer posting you remove and or replace materials from storage in one storage location and place them in another storage location.
That transction code you use for transfer posting MB1B with following movement types may be used
    301, 303,305,311,411,309.
301 is Stock Transfer Between Plants in One Step
303 & 305 : Stock Transfer Between Plants in Two Steps
In stock transfer, it always involves physical movement of goods, like transfer between plants under same company code or different company codes.
Following types are possible with STO's
    Stock Transport Order Without Delivery
Stock Transport Order with Delivery via Shipping
Stock Transport Order with Delivery and Billing Document/Invoice

  • Difference between Stock Transfer Horizon and Planning Time Fence

    Hi Experts,
Could you plz help to explain the difference between stock transfer horizon and planinng time fence?
Appreciated your professional input to address my confusion.

    Hi Gavin,
The stock transfer horizon is used in SNP planning, it is the time period within which SNP does not create any stock transfer requisitions.
The planning time fence is used by PPDS planning. It is the time period within which the PPDS planning does not create any orders. The orders lying within this period are considered to be firmed by the PPDS planning.
Functionally, the stock transfer horizon/ production horizon in SNP are analogous to the planning time fence in PPDS, which provide the system ability to keep the plan firm/unchanged within this period.
    Hope this helps!

  • Difference in stock value with same quantity

    Dear Friends,
one of my user has a problem regarding difference in Stock value. when he had run the report MB52 up to 31/03/2011, and  saved his value in temp file  and now in current date he is using report MC.9 for same material up to 03/2011. now his problem is difference in stock value while stock quantity is same for particular material. and this thing is correct in all other material.
Are MB52 and MC.9 both reports give same data for same date like up to 31/03/2011 ? if yes then where would be the problem? why difference is coming and what should i need to check? please guide me, i am new in MM.
    Thanks
    Vijay Sharma

MC.9 is a statistic transaction which is using info structure information as basis, while MB52 basis is normal business data.
Updates for info structure have less priority, which means that it can happen that the update fails, but this does not effect the business transaction in general, and the transaction is not rolled back, which then leads to inconsistencies between both.
To solve this you would need to rebuild the information structure (which is only possible if no postings are made in this time of regeneration).

  • What r the major differences bet Stock transfer order & STO

    hi friends,
can anyone explain me the major differences between
Stock Transfer Order and Stock Transport order,
    with some examples.
    regards
    ganesh

    hi,
When you do stock trasnfer with the Stock trasport order...then it has the following adavantages:
Advantages of the Stock Transport Order
The transfer of stock using a stock transport order has the following advantages over the transfer of stock without a stock transport order:
    ●     A goods receipt can be planned in the receiving plant.
    ●     You can enter a vendor (freight vendor) in the stock transport order.
    ●     Delivery costs can be entered in the stock transport order.
    ●     The stock transfer order is part of MRP: Purchase requisitions that were created in MRP can be converted into stock transport orders.
    ●     The system can run an availability check for the stock transfer.
    Hope it helps..

  • Difference in Stock account , Custom clearing account

    Hi All.
I found the amount difference issue when GR document is reversed. The background is as follows.
    1. Material is procured from import vendor for which PO order currency is CNY.
    2. The conditions maintained in PO are indian standard customes conditions.
    3. After GR was made , user realised error and reversed the material document.
    4. Upon reversal it is found that
                      a. Stock Account adjusted with amount greater than GR account docuement.
                      b. GR/ IR account is perfectly adjusted as in GR account document.
                      c. Custom clearing account adjusted with amount greater than GR account docuement.
    5. Exchange rate is maintained properly for CNY to USD
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Deepak Dalvi

    Thanks for the reply.
POSTING date for GR and reversal document is same i.e today.  As I said in previous mail, the GR/ IR account is properly adjusted. Stock account and CENVAT account shows difference.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • FI PCA Difference in Stock A/c

    Hi
There is a difference between the GL account (FS10N run for company code & business area) and the profit centre report as at last financial period. I have carried out the following steps in order to clarify.
Via CSKS (cost centre master) table I selected the cost centres relevant to the business area and thereby the profit centres.
Using the list of profit centres from above ran the Profit centre report S_ALR_87009735  for the same period.
Ran FBL3N for the stock account restricting to the particular business area. Then sorted based on the profit centres and checked the PC totals with that of the profit centre report. They are not balancing.
Any guidance on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards
    Nadini

    Hi
One of the reasons, why your profit center stock balances and the balances of stocks as per FS10n or FBL3n may be becuase of some of the materials might not have been assigned to profit center.
You can check the same throught Table MARC where PRCTR=BLANK. If there are stocks of these materials which might not reflect in the profit center stock balances.
And secondly you either check for either business area or with profit centers, seems that you selection for checking also doesnot seems to be ok. Check business area and profit center seperately with the same selection.

  • Difference between stock as per FI & MM

    Hi,
I am reconciling stock record as per FI ( Balance Sheet) & MM.
few difference are coming in some business area.
Can anyone clarify me the possible causes of this difference.
    regards
    Saurabh Bagri

Hi, from my experience there are certain things we have to aware:
For all valuation areas in which currency is being converted to the leading currency, the stock values of the materials must also be converted.
Remember that small differences may occur because amounts are rounded to the the nearest cent.If this cause inconsistencies (for example, the stock value is not equal to the quantity x the price), a reconciliation is required after currency conversion.
If necessary, differences that occur are taken into account during the conversion procedure and corrected automatically.
And also, the LIFO/FIFO receipt data is <b>not</b> reconciled with the material documents and accounting documents that have been converted. If required, you can recompile the LIFO/FIFO receipt data using a document extract after the conversion. To do so, you must not have archived any material documents or settlements for production orders.
hope it helps and don't forget to assign points
    regards,
    Lily

  • Difference in stock posting

    Hi,
We have posted a delivery and an invoice for an amount of 44.05 and the system debited 40,000  in the sales account.
I know that the system registered the item taken from stock at the cost price but the last purchase price is of 0.040 so we are unsure what has happened.
How best to change this and make it right as well as making sure this accounting issue doesn't come up again?
    Thank you,
    MB

    Hi Matt,
Was the 40.000 posted as a debit on the Delivery?
Then check the stock audit report what the transaction value and which cost price that was used.
The Delivery should book a debit on the Cost of Goods Sold and Credit the Stock account on the Delivery.
    Hope it helps,
    Jesper

  • Difference in stock values after MR21 updation

Here the user has updated a material price using MR21 and after that he tried to execute the MB5L (stock balance MM-FI) to know the stock values in MM & FI records.  However, the stock values in MM does not tally with FI values.  There is a variance.
While executing MB5L, system has issued a message like this:
"Restriction on this field lead to incorrect results.
The display of selected material records shows the detailed data of the material, but comparing these values with the balance of the stock account may not provide the same result.
Execute the balance comparison at company code level using report RM07MMFI (MM/FI balance comparison)."
Which report the user should use for comparison ?

    Hello,
MB5L must always be ran at Company code level. Once it is ran, you can get to the Plant/Material level balances by double-clicking the Material GL Account.

  • Difference betyween stock 6600 and 7800 Quad graphic cards

Ref: getting ready to buy a Quad PM.
I'm hearing that the 7800 vs. 6600 improves (reduces) rendering time. I'd like to get some kind of metric that I can use to justify or not to buy the 7800 card rather than stock. The +$350 for the 7800 isn't small change but would be a good investment if it save a bunch of render time over the weeks and months of being used. FCP is the main App in use.
Also, just how does the 7800 card help in reducing the rendering time. Is it that Apple's Core Image technology somehow offloads some of its CPU work to the card and some cards accept this while others don't ?
    Thanks... Barry

    Barry,
There are a lot of 6600 owners (some with quads) who post in the Aperture forum. A few managed to use a 3rd party video upgrade website - strangedogs. Bottom line is the 6600 is detested by Aperture users, those who upgraded have found a much improved experience. UI sliders are instant and adjustments are visible in real-time, unlike the multi SBBOD experience using the 6600.
Don't get locked-into the 6600 as its not upgradeable from Apple - a SHOCKING disgrace.
So from an Aperture users point of view, Aperture is a heavy user of coreimage, don't buy anything less than the 7800. Check out the Aperture forums for more info. Also check barefeats website where they did a comparison of various graphics cards in heavy coreimage tests. Needless to say the 6600 was lowest, even than some 3-4 year-old AGP cards. For what its worth...

  • Need advise to calculate stock difference (Theoric values vs real values)

I know there is a transaction named MI20
This transaction is able to give me the needed info... except it gives me the info un units. Meaning, if a box of certain product has 12 SKU and we have 12 boxes, the result window shows 144 SKU.
This is not a bad thing... except for the fact that the company does not only want to see the SKU but they want to see the boxes. If there are 145 SKU of the same product in stock, they want the result window to show it like this:
Item: <ItemName>, Boxes: 12, Units: 1 (This is a rough example)
Now... I don't think it is a good idea to touch the standard code, so I decided to create a new (and simplified) transaction that asks only the parameters they want, they agreed to this and so I started... but stopped almost right away.
"Why?" you might ask. Well, I don't know the tables I sould read to determine a difference in stock between what's supposed to be and what really is.
My common sense tells me the actual stock is somehow introduced to the system with some document. But where? Which table(s)?
Also, how can I calculate the theoric values ? Initial stock (date of implementation) minus sales, plus purchases? That's what common sense tells me but... also tells me that is only going to be slower as time passes by, not to mention I don't know where to look into (again).
After the people who implemented SAP left, we were left adrift. No data dictionary, no ABAP training, no language refference manual, no nothing :s
I don't want source code to be written here... but I'm kinda desperate, I tried to understand the standard code of the MI20 but I get lost. I'm reading the RM07IDIF report and while I can see some tables there, I can't ger a grip on what's happening >___<
What would you say is a good starting point or course of action? (Don't say "Get formal ABAP trainning"... that's not going to happen, my boss haven't even pressed the buttons to get a book from the SAP store ;_;)
I know the ISEG, MARA, T!58 tables play a role in the whole movie (How, that's still a mistery I have to unveil).I  I've also noticed some structures that (to my understanding) are used mostly to store partial results.
I know this question is very vague and even might look like "Do the work for me", but believe me, I'm not looking for source code to copy paste. I'm trying to understand the system and the relation between the tables in order to start coding.
Thanx in advance for your help and understanding : /
