Difficulties in initializing PCI6527

I am trying to setup a PCI627 card with LabView program. After setting up, I couldn't get any voltage outputs by running some very simple single channel output. I ran LabView samplers and still no response. In addition, I measure the voltage on pin 49 and 99 ( supposed to be +5V according to the manual), and still could not get voltage readings.
Could anyone give me some suggestions/comments on how to get digital output from a PCI6527 ? What the voltage output should be (5V?, 60V?)? Is that adjustable?
Thank you very much!
Chuan

Hi,
As mentionned in the above answer, the best way to test the board's outputs is by using MAX, there you can easi~ly switch on and off all outputs of the board.
But that's not the main reason why you're not having output from it. This board has switching outputs, meaning that what you do is closing the connection between the two pins of each output. So, for instance, if you close DO 0.0, you will connect pin 47 and 48. So, you need to connect a signal to pin 47 and when the DO 0.0 if high, you will have that voltage on pin 48. And this answers the question of how much is the high level voltage? It is how much you connect to the high pin of the output untill 60 V that's the maximum isolation it accepts.
About the 5V on pin 49 and 99 that's very strange... you should have 5 V between pin 49, 99 and 50, 100.
Hope this helps,
Paulo

Download was smooth and apparently error free.

Rufus 1.4.10 application program was used to create a bootable USB Memory Card and to install the OS on this card. (http://rufus.akeo.ie/). The process was easy and was error free.
Install Windows 10 on the Dell 11 Pro.
A Dell factory backup was done to a bootable USB memory card. (Dell does not ship the Venue with any OS or other software on external media).
The Rufus generated USB Memory Card was inserted into the Venue’s USB 3.0 port.
Windows Explorer was used to display the USB files and to select and execute “Setup”.
The Windows 10 installation asks if one wishes to keep the existing application programs, drivers and other current files. The recommended answer is YES. This was an unusual experience for me because the typical requirement is to do a clean install from
a bootable device that is read on computer power up. It was very nice to be able to preserve the current application programs and drivers and to do the installation from “inside of” the old OS.
The installation process was quick, there were no error messages or any obvious problems.
There was no requirement for user responses during the process.
The first tasks on initial start-up of the OS are to check for updates and to provide logon information.
The update requirement depends on an operational connection to the Internet. In our case, the connection is by WiFi and there would normally by no way to initiate this without having been logged on to a running version of the OS. It is a typical “cart before
the horse” problem. Fortunately, it is possible to defer this step which is what we did.
The next problem is creating the logon. Dell’s default on display intensity is dimmer than is desirable and, at least on this tablet, it is difficult to see the contents of some of the logon fields. You cannot change the display intensity until after
a successful logon. The “CAPTCHA” step is especially difficult and annoying. The dim display makes it tough to recognize the alphanumeric characters which may be on angles, overlapping, indistinct and of varying intensity. One has to guess about some of the
characters, to change to different CAPTCHA selections and to repeatedly attempt a logon. My recommendation is not to use CAPTCHA in any part of the software.
Microsoft encourages the use of a “Microsoft system wide” user name and password.
There are some advantages to this, but, as others have pointed out, it has some risks.
Touch screen virtual keyboards are infamous for problems with accidental selections of adjacent keys and unintended character repetitions. Fortunately, the Venue 11 has a large sized virtual keyboard and there is less chance of key selection errors
than is true with the small sized displays. The Venue does has problems with the unintended character repetitions. All of this causes difficulties with initial password setups in which the entered data are hidden with stars or other characters and one also
usually has to enter the new password twice. A few software developers have started offering users a check box option for display of the entered password information. This is really helpful for reducing the number of times that one might need to enter a new
password and then repeat it for confirmation.
    Initial Experience with Windows 10
There have been no known problems with missing or incompatible drivers. I don’t know if any drivers were updated between 8.1 and 10 except that there was a somewhat lengthy automatic install of a new driver for the cellular modem. This device and its software
have not been evaluated as yet. I do not know if the software enables regular cellular voice operations. It is unlikely that it enables the automatic transfer of voice communications between WiFi and Cellular networks, as is available from some vendors.
Access to the Control Panel, Command Prompt and other administrative functions is now possible via the “Start” icon display once one realizes that you need to scroll the display fully downward and to the right in order to see the “administrative” icons.
In spite of the relatively large Dell Venue display (10.8 inches), there are still many fields that are small and/or are too close together to be reliably selected by finger touch. Some of these fields cannot be selected at all by finger touch. The
problem can be reduced by increasing character and display sizes and by the use of an Active Stylus. Use of a mouse plugged into the USB port is a temporary solution if one doesn’t have a stylus.
There have been many instances of failures to respond to icon selections by repeated finger presses. The reason for this behavior is unknown. The problem can be temporarily cleared by a soft restart.
In some fields, autofill correctly displays a list of choices, but the application program crashes with an unknown error message if you touch select one of the choices.
There is a hardware “Windows button icon” that is located on the front rim of the computer, halfway between the right and left sides of the unit. This is a very poor location because it is easy to accidentally press the button while holding the computer
in one’s hand. The button should be recessed and should be located on a side of the computer.
There should be a mechanical button to increase or decrease screen intensity. There should be a user selectable option to control ambient light regulated screen intensity.
This isn't necessarily a Windows 10 issue, but there has been a recent marked increase in advertisements that are added to the results of Google and Yahoo searches, e-mail traffic
and other Internet transactions. The latest twist is that unless one accepts an advertisement's initial suggestion - usually by clicking on a YES or OK icon - then the display is locked and you cannot close it short of ending the task or doing a soft reset.
There is no choice to Cancel. Selecting the X close icon or close on a drop down box doesn't close the advertising Window display.

I'm running 9879 on my Venue Pro 11 and cannot get the stylus to work.
Did you test that scenario? For such an early release of the OS, everything seems not too bad. But I really would like to be able to test OneNote with ink support!!

  • Overlap audio regions on 1 track without cutting the previous one off

Im trying to overlap multiple audio regions on one track, so that the next one starts before the previous one ends but when i do this, each consecutive overlap basically replaces the remaining region of the one before it. to be more specific in order to maybe paint a better picture of what i am asking... i am creating machine gun audio for a video clip and i have a loop of a single shot plus the shell falling to the ground. im trying to overlap the loops so that the single shot of each come together in rapid fire succession to create the machine gun firing sound, but i want the sound of the shell falling for each shot to continue to play under the multiple copies of the overlapping loop. the problem is, when i overlap multiple loops, its not finishing the noise of the shell falling to the ground for each shot, it only plays the falling shell at the very end when there is no other overlap. i hope i did an ok job explaining what i am asking, haha trying to type this out was much more difficult that initially anticipated. thanks in advance for any help.

That's normal. Audio tracks are not polyphonic. Use several tracks or EXS24.

  • PE8 Problem -

"The file archive part of Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Content is missing.  You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Premiere Elements 9 Content.  Please download all parts."
Any suggestions.  The following 2 files were downloaded:

    2) PremiereElements_8_Content_WWEFDJ.7z (application)    size=1200kb
I have tried installing from administrator logon and have tried disabling antivirus.
    OS - Windows Vista Ultimate - 32-bit.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Thank you to Steve, ATR, and the others who have responded.
The following is the solution and some notes for people who might experience similar problems in the future.
I solved the problem by doing another download.  First, to answer the question of whether Firefox will work - the download worked the fifth time around.
Through Googling - I found an Adobe page that mentioned that this problem can occur due to an incomplete download.   You can find the Adobe page through the google search "adobe 7-zip dlm".  The page, "kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407752.html", is currently unavailable, but you can see enough of the description in google to not need to see the actual page, anyway.
It is difficult to initially determine, if one looks at the size of the downloaded file, that one has an incomplete download since the file, as described by its attributes in Windows, is at its full size at the beginning of the download.
To answer the question regarding compression, yes - Adobe compresses the file.  After running the de-compression exe, you end up with 7.24GB instead of the original 3.55GB file.  7-zip is apparently a compression routine.  I haven't tried it on the successful download, but the Adobe decompression utility runs well and I don't see the reason to not use it.  There is a downloadable 7-zip program at download.com and information at 7-zip.org.

  • Editting audio in a movie

I have this video which has an audio track that is out of sync, and was wondering if there's a small program available to perhaps shift the audio forward a few seconds.
I would extract the audio in iMovie but my HD is running low on space and I can't fit the movie on in the iMovie format.

Based on X idea: if you have QT Pro first you export the Audio and then you Add it back to the movie after chosing a new start position.
    In more details:
-- the movie is open in QT Pro and you open also its property window (cmd-J)
-- in the property window you select the audio track and click Extract: a new QT Player Untitled window is opened with just the audio
-- still in the property window uncheck the audio track (you may delete later when everything is OK...): this mutes the video.
-- select the newly extracted untitled window, Select All (cmd-A), Copy (cmd-C)
-- go to the movie window and set the playhead where you want the extracted audio to be positioned, and then Add to Movie (alt-cmd-V).
As a result the audio track is added starting at the new playhead position and runs after the end of the video track.
The most difficult part is to decide where you have to set the playhead: you must make a good evaluation of how much to shift the audio forward. But the procedure is easy enough to repeat it at different playhead positions till you are satisfied.
Just for your info: in the extracted audio window you can also select a portion of track by setting the in and out points before copying; when adding to the video track you can use Add to Selection and Scale (or whatever English name has this command: shift-alt-cmd-V) if you want the audio track to adapt to the selected portion of the video... and so on

  • How to contact support in Argentina?!

    Hi,
I have a very new Macbook, purchased less than 6 months ago. I purchased an AppleCare plane prior to moving to Argentina, just in case I had any problems. My computer is now running extremely slowly (sometimes taking over an hour to boot up). Additionally, I have a difficult time initializing programs (it took me half an hour today just to open Audacity). Furthermore, common programs such as iChat, AIM, and Firefox crash constantly (sometimes dozens of times in a day). If ever I want to close a program, I usually have to force it to quit, due to the fact that virtually every program on here crashes so frequently, or freezes up indefinitely. This is making it impossible to get any work done - and I have over 25 GB free on the hard drive, so I know that's not the problem. I think there is something seriously wrong with this computer (should the fact that it crashed completely within my first 5 minutes of owning it have been a hint?). However, I cannot find any support phone numbers within Argentina. I have found some places that will provide Mac support, but they are expensive. All I can think is that this must be a hardware problem that needs to be fixed, but I have no idea what to do about it. Can someone please provide me with a toll-free support number so I can call from Argentina without being charged $3 per minute? Thanks for any help you can give me - I am getting so frustrated I could cry!

    Hi.
You can try calling MacStation Apple Center, it´s in Buenos Aires
Ayacucho 1184 Bs As or call technical support (011)50320810 (dial the number between brackets only if you call from outside Buenos Aires)
Here i post for you the link to their web page

  • E1200 - Initial setup difficulties

I don't even know where to start... it's basically a poorly designed router! Every time you change a setting you start praying for this to come back.. most of the time you have to reset it to the defaults and start from the beginning. Try changing the routers name after the initial setup.. it immediately quits working and you are back to the hard reset. Try changing the security mode after the initial setup.... it quits.. well you get the picture. I would stay away - avoid! The good part is that once it's setup the internet works well with very good range. I might return and get the 10 year old Cisco-Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato firmware... way easier to setup and operate. I am afraid of touching this "router", god knows what it takes to add a printer to this - Another 3 hours waisted.

That’s pretty strange. Normally it’s just a matter of running the Cisco Connect CD that comes with the router and you’re up and running in under ten minutes. When you mentioned having to reset the router, do you mean by pressing the reset button or just unplugging and replugging the power to the device?

  • MR11- GR/IR clearing account initial screen

On MR11 initial screen is there a way to add account assignment catagory e.g. K or A etc so we can get further details into expense items?
Also, Is there a way to get goods receipt date on the executed report?
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi Rajendra,
you cannot set it on the initial (selection) screen. But on the resulting listt, if you go into the 'change layout' screen (Ctrl + F8) you can add the account assignament group to the list of orders. Then you can also sort or filer on the field contents.
The goods receipt date is not contained. The general case is thet there might be multiple goods receipts for an item, so that it would be difficult to populate such a field in a sensible way.
But on the selection screen you have
    <i>Last movement before key date
This field defines a selection criterium.
Only transactions are selected for which the date of the last goods movement is earlier than the date specified.</i>
    maybe that helps...
        best regards,

  • T500 Vista buying experience and initial setup problems

This a long post but I felt the information could be used by others buying a notebook and trying to set it up.
I have used a Thinkpad T40 (1 GB, XP Pro) at work since 2003  and just love the rock-solid keyboard, screen, and hinges. The IT department has offered me the most recent Dell computer as an upgrade but I much prefer to keep my old reliable T40.
When my daughter needed a notebook for university in September, it was only natural to consider Lenovo, having heard about too many quality problems with other manufacturers. I wanted this notebook to last through the 4 years without any hardware problems.
I did a lot of research on the Web and read numerous Thinkpad forums. The information gathered was invaluable for deciding which configuration to buy. Note that I have never used VISTA before, nor have I ever opened a notebook to replace parts.
    Buying experience:
    - On my first contact with the Lenovo Sales desk in Canada, they mentioned there was a special 25% coupon sale, if my configuration was over $1500 (discounted price). These specials come back often, so it is best to check the Lenovo site. At the time, there was a free integrated camera, free upgrade to 250 MB HDD and free shipping. Since these promotions can be removed at any time, I decided to place an online order for a Thinkpad T500, before having completed all my research. It is easy to place an order online. You just have to remember that not all items contribute to making up the $1500, such as MS Office software.
    - Lenovo Sales telephone support for answering any questions about online ordering was outstanding and very helpful.
    - Note that if a particular online configuration is there one week, it might not be there the next week. It depends on parts availability at Lenovo.
    - In order to get the 25% coupon discount, I had to add some items to my configuration to reach $1500, such as Bluetooth, Wifi 5100, which I did not really need, but the saving on the overall cost was worthwhile.
    - I had ordered a WXGA (1280 x 800) High Brightness LED Backlit screen and 3 GB of RAM. After reading about the poor display quality of these screens, I was able to cancel my order by phone the next day (after making sure the same deal was still available), and place a new revised order for a WSXGA+ TFT (1680 x 1050) screen. Since the configuration price for an additional 2 GB RAM was $110 CDN, I decided to buy the extra 2 GB RAM (only $43 CDN) as an accessory, on the same order, separate from the T500 configuration. I could then install the RAM myself to save $67 ! Just make sure you pay the extra to get the base 2 GB RAM on one DIMM, since there are only 2 slots available. I know I will only be using 3.5 GB with my 32-bit Windows, but at least, if one of the DIMMs goes bad, I can still operate on 2 GB.
    - as for choosing which CPU to buy, I chose in the middle range, starting with the first CPU having 3 MB L2 cache.
    - I did not buy MS Office or McAfee Antivirus with the configuration. Since my daughter attends a post-secondary institution, she was able to order MS Office Ultimate 2007 for $64 CDN + $13 for the DVD. Microsoft has had this promotion on their site
     (http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-ca/default.aspx)
for a while, but it is not well known. You get 8 MS products for one low price and it is completely legal for numerous countries ! I downloaded the software since it took 5 weeks to get the DVD delivered ! At the end of 4 weeks, I contacted Microsoft to tell them I had still not received the DVD. So I received the first DVD and a few weeks later, I received a second copy. So much for quick shipping !
    Initial impressions:
    - I received 3 separate shipments: 1 free Thinkpad privacy filter to install on the screen, the 2 GB RAM, and finally the T500 (which took about 2 weeks).
-The stainless steel hinges are rock-solid. When trying to raise the lid in the first weeks, you have to hold down the keyboard. Not at all like the hinges I see on the Dell notebooks at work.
    - The 3 USB port connections are very tight, which means they should last through repeated plugging and unplugging.
    - The T500 is surprisingly quiet, more than my T40. You can hardly hear the fan.
    - I am extremely satisfied with the screen resolution, colours, and quality.
    - The only disappointment was the keyboard ! Typing on the left-hand side (Q,W keys) produced an annoying "clunk". This was the worst keyboard I had ever used, being accustomed to the legendary quality of my T40. Even my daughter complained about the keyboard. I had read on the forums about the "flex" in the keyboard. Before ordering, when I asked the Sales Rep if these known problems had been solved, I was told that yes, the keyboard flex was no longer an issue. Too bad this was not true !
    Initial Setup:
    - Setup was easy. Just follow the on-screen instructions.
    - I was not very happy to see a trial version of MS-Office and McAfee Antivirus on my notebook. I had not ordered it on the online configuration and did not want it. I had read on the forums that other users had all sorts of problems trying to get their own version of MS Office working (activation keys not being recognized), when the pre-loaded software was still there. And I knew how difficult it could be to erase all traces of McAfee by myself.
    Hardware problems:
    - after I burned my very first DVD, I pressed the Eject button. To my surprise, there was a thin grey foam ring (about 3 cm diameter) sitting on top of my DVD media. I assumed that this came from the roof of the DVD drive and the manufacturing process had missed the glue to keep it there. I contacted Lenovo and they immediately sent out a replacement (received the next day), which was easy to install. I then returned the defective part to Lenovo. My only complaint is that this was a refurbished unit. I was expecting a new unit since the part was defective out of the box and not a few months later.
    - for the defective keyboard, I contacted Lenovo and mentioned the numerous complaints on the forums, and they sent me a new keyboard (FRU 42T3938). Unlike the DVD drive, I did not have to send back the original keyboard. However, the replacement keyboard was exactly the same as the original, with a thin flexible backing full of holes. I contacted Lenovo again in the morning and the agent mentioned I should contact Sales, since there was nothing more he could do. That afternoon, the agent called me to say that after further research, he had found a replacement keyboard that would correct the flex. When I received the second replacement keyboard (FRU 42T3210), I knew it was the right one, since there were far less holes in the more solid backing plate. I followed the instructions for replacing the keyboard and added my additional 2 GB RAM at the same time, since it is in the same area, under the palm rest. Now the keyboard is almost like my solid T40, and I am no longer ashamed of the T500 keyboard. For those of you wondering what an ACNOR or CSA keyboard is, it is one where the 5 most common French accented characters (and not only the é) are used with one keystroke. I have been using such a keyboard disposition since 1994 and it is invaluable when typing in French.
For pictures comparing the defective and replacement keyboards, see
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T500-keyboard-replacement/m-p/158451#M15525
    My immediate goals:
    - out of the box, there are 3 partitions: partitions Q (10 GB)  and S (1 GB) are Lenovo partitions to recover the operating system, C partition is a single partition over 200 GB on my 250 GB DD. I wanted to partition the C: drive in multiple partitions.
    - I also wanted to eliminate MS Office and McAfee so I could install my own software (MS Office 2007 Ultimate and free Avast Antivirus). When I contacted Lenovo to ask how I could do this, they said I could use the recovery partition and "customize" it so that this software would not be installed. Turns out that this option was removed by Lenovo. I guess pressure from Microsoft and McAfee was too great ! The only other option was to use Add/Remove.
    Partitioning problems.
    - I ran Diskmgmt.msc (also available on XP) to see the layout of my HDD. Unfortunately, it did not seem to be powerful enough to partition like I wanted. But it is great to see the layout of the disk and do basic partitioning. (http://www.theeldergeek.com/hard_drives.htm)
    - I installed the free EASUS Partition Manager (http://www.partition-tool.com/); the non-free Pro version works on 64-bit.  I wanted to partition: C 35GB (Operating System and Office), D 20GB (other applications), E 25GB (Data), F 100GB (Music and Pictures). I also installed the free EASUS Todo Backup (http://www.todo-backup.com/) to do regular image backups as I was proceeding.
    - while trying to partition the C drive, I must have made an error somewhere (I think I accidentally declared another partition as the active partition). Whenever I rebooted, I would get the message "Boot MGR is missing". I could not even use the recovery partition (Q and S) on the HDD. So my notebook was totally unusable. Fortunately, I had burned 4 Recovery DVD's, as soon as the OS was operational. The first recovery DVD booted OK. However, the system would not recognize any of the 3 other recovery DVD, displaying a message such as wrong disk inserted or something similar. Imagine if in a few months I had needed to use these recovery DVD that I had burned; they were completely useless and I would have nothing to recover with. Very scary !
    - I explained the problem to Lenovo Support and they sent me within 3 days a set of 4 Rescue & Recovery DVD. By following the instructions, it took 2 hours to recover to a working system. The good: no Office or McAfee trial software came with this recovery. The bad: there was a 2 GB empty partition at the beginning of the HDD and 10 GB of unallocated space at the end of the disk. Why Lenovo would do this, I don't know; seems a bit sloppy to me. Also, I had to manually reconfigure everything, since there is no "just follow the instructions" as when configuring the "out-of-the-box" system. I had to install my own PDF viewer
(free open source PDF X-viewer http://www.docu-track.com/home/prod_user/PDF-XChange_Tools/pdfx_viewer), Adobe Flash, etc...
    - the major problem in partitioning is the inability to shrink a partition (such as C) in order to free up space after to add extended partitions
(http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/working-around-windows-vistas-shrink-volume-inadequacy-...). There always seems to be VISTA unmovable files, MBR or something else. After reading numerous posts, I installed the trial version (30 days) of Raxco PerfectDisk Home edition in order to consolidate all the files to the front of the C: drive. A few iterations were required since the MBR seems to be placed in the middle of the partition. I was finally able to partition my HDD exactly as I wanted. I was so pleased with the efficiency and ease of use of PerfectDisk that I bought the Pro 10 version. Just wait for when the software is occasionally discounted. (http://www.perfectdisk.com/home)
    VISTA User account setup:
I had created my E partition to store all user data of all accounts, since I would have multiple accounts on the computer. I also wanted to store all music and pictures in the Public folder on F partition. There are numerous methods described on the Internet, most of which seem too complicated. See http://joshmouch.wordpress.com/2007/04/07/change-user-profile-folder-location-in-vista/ and
http://www.vista4beginners.com/Move-user-files-folders-to-another-partition?page=1. I finally decided to do just 2 simple registry modifications described in the last post here
    (http://superuser.com/questions/6391/moving-users-folder-on-windows-vista-seven-to-another-partition).
It worked for me but use at your own risk ! Just edit the 2 Registry keys and replace the C: drive by the one you need.
    - I only had the Admin account created on the C: partition. Before creating any other user accounts, I modified the registry so that all new user accounts created would use my E partition.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList  ProfilesDirectory = E:\Users
    - I modified the registry so that the Public folder would be on my F partition.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList  Public = F:\Public

    - I had considered an inexpensive boot manager, partition manager and imaging software (BootIt Next Generation) highly recommended by Fred Langa
(http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/index.htm). But it seemed a bit like overkill for my needs. There is a fully-functioning trial version.
    - I regularly consult a complete list of recommended free software on Gizmo's Freeware review (http://www.techsupportalert.com). One recommended free open source defragmenter which I did not use was MyDefrag (http://www.mydefrag.com/).
    - download and install the latest version of the Lenovo System Tools (Toolbox). It is very easy to use and can troubleshoot all hardware problems. Search for MIGR-67520 on the Lenovo site.
    - you can find Roxio DVD burning software on the Lenovo site (MIGR-72359 on the Lenovo site). I have not installed it yet.
    - use the Lenovo System Update to keep your drivers up-to-date.
    - for info on how to use switchable graphics, search on the Lenovo site for MIGR-70495.
    - for tips on setting battery parameters, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=320082
    Recommendations to Lenovo:
    - don't ship poor quality keyboards. You have too much to lose, for the small manufacturing savings.
    - don't pre-install trial versions of Office or McAfee. This should be an option and not be forced onto buyers.
    - at least ship the HDD with a 40 GB C primary partition and the rest as D: partition. This would make it easier for users who are not technical.
    - if you are going to include an integrated camera, provide software to use it. Currently, I have no way of taking a picture or making a video without acquiring other software. The technique described here
    (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67413) does not work !
    - provide some software to reduce the speed of the DVD drive when watching movies. The noise at the default maximum speed is very annoying.
    Thinkpad T500 | Model 2081-CTO | Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 (2.53GHz, 1066MHz 3MB L2 Cache) | 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 RAM | 15.4" WSXGA+ | ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 (256MB) | 250GB Hitachi HDD (5400rpm) | Bluetooth 2.1 | Integrated Camera | DVD Recordable UltraBay Slim | Intel Wifi Link 5100 | Sony 6-cell Li-Ion battery | Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP1

people complaining about problems installing an office over another office are (dare i say it) stupid. it makes absolutely no sense installing one over the trial version. just uninstall the trial and you'll be fine. every single time.
as for problem with uninstalling mcafee (or any other antivirus, for that matter, just download the uninstaller from the software company e.g. http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507 for mcafee.
that said i believe you get to choose if you want mcafee and/or office when you go through the inital boot, the "on-screen instructions"
you can slow down the odd via power manager
and thanks for the tips on changing the reg to have the user profiles somewhere else!

  • Initial Load of customers stopped

    Hello,
I started download of customer_main in CRM 4.0 and as a sales group couldn´t be found (which is also deleted in R3, but still to find in customer masters; also R3 gives an error if you go into VD02 because of this) an BDOC was generated, what is quite ok.
BUT - the problem is that the initial load was stopped completely.
In Rel. 3.0 we got also BDoc for errors BUT the download always finished. So afterwards errors were cleaned up.
Has somebody an idea whether this is normal behaviour in Rel.4.0 or what I can maybe do that download runs further after stop?
I´d be happy if I´d get some hints.
    Kind regards
    Christina

    Hello,
it´s difficult to filter out customers as I don´t know upfront which one run into error, as I don´t know which sales group, offices have been deleted in R3 and are still existing in customer master.
We found note 823594 and it seems that with this the check of sales group+offices is simply ignored, what means the initial load will run through smoothly.
Problem can be that you get no BDOC anymore if a saes group is missing and then inconsistency of systems increase.
    The error message was
"CRM_BUPA_MAPPING_30110 - No CRM sales office can be determined fr R3 sales group THS".
So the error shows what to do basically. But why the whole download is stopping is not clear.
If someboy knows about please reply on this.
    Kind regards
    Christina

  • Initial load of small target tables via flashback query?

    A simple question.
Scenario: I’m currently building a near real time warehouse, streaming some basic facts and dimension tables between two databases. I’m considering building a simple package to "reset" or reinitialize the dimensions an all-round fix for variety of problem scenarios (since they are really small, like 15 000 rows each). The first time I loaded the target tables I utilized data pump with good success, however since streams transforms data on the way a complete reload is somewhat more complex.
Considered solution: Ill just write a nice flashback query via db-link fetching data from a specific (recent) SCN and then I reinitialize the table on that SCN in streams...
Is this a good idea? Or is there something obvious like a green and yellow elephant in the gift shop that I overlooked? Why I’m at all worried is because in the manuals this solution is not mention among the supported ways to do the initial load of a target table and I’m thinking there is a reason for this?

I have a series of streams with some tranformations feeding rather small dimensional tables, I want to make this solution easy to manage even when operations encounter difficult replication issues, so Im developing a PL/SQL package that will:
    1) Stop all streams
    2) Clear all errors
    3) Truncate target tables
    4) Reload them including transformation (using a SELECT AS OF "ANY RECENT SCN" from target to source over dblink)
    5) Using this random recent SCN I will re-instantiate the tables
    6) Start all streams
As you see datapump even if it works is rather difficult to utilize when you tranform data from A to B, using AS OF I not only get a constant snapshot from the source, I also get the exact SCN for it.
What do you think? Can I safely use SELECT AS OF SCN instead of datapump with SCN and still get a consisten sollution?
For the bigger FACT tables im thinking about using the same SELECT AS OF SCN but there with particular recent paritions as targets only and thus not having to reload the whole table.
Anyways this package would ensure operations that they can recover from any kind of disaster or incomplete recovery on both source and target databases, and just re-instantiate the warehouse within minutes.

  • Initial screen of a report group?

    Hi gurus,
There are 14 report painter in the report group. How to improve its performance?
I am not really familir with this tool. The tutorial doc seems won't help. Could anyone explain to me how to modify the initial screen of a report group? I wanted to limit the parameters defined in the fiscal year that probably makes the program performance slow.
    Points will be given
    Badly needed your advice.
    Thanks!!!

    Thanks for replying.
There are fiscal years defined. like 2007 to 2008. Can I have your email? I would like to show you the screen shots of the report group. This is quite difficult to understand. I haven't asked about the real flow of this report. So, I really need your advice

  • Initial load with CDC

I am now able to replicate changes made on the source table and make the changes visible on the staging site, now I have two questions:
1.) how do I manage the initial load of the source table.
The table as object gets replicated as an empty table, after the first change on the source table the changes are beeing replictated, but not the whole contents of the table.
2.) how do I manage to apply the changes to target table ?
I have the changes in the change view but with a.) all the additional columns, ending with a $-sign and b.) only the changed values, if the modification was an update-operation.
    rueisel

    Hi Rueisel,
    1. before starting replication, initialiaze yours destinations tables with DataPump. You can create a scripèt based on impdp/expdp ou write a PL/SQL package around DataPump API (not very difficult and well documented)
    2. To propagate the changes from the Changes tables to the Destination tables, you have to write your own solution. The main principles is to
create a job that read the Changes Tables and update the Destination tables (use merge statements). The job can be stored on the Destination database or staging one. A database link must be created between Destination and staging database.
Warning: If you have to propagate some clobs/blobs objects, you have to create a specifc solution because you can not access them throught a database link.
    I hope it's help,
    Cyryl

  • Bad initial encoding of report after WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(MyURL,'_blank')

    Hi,
    I use Developer9iDS 9.0.2 with installed Patch1 on Win2000 with IE 6.0.
I need an HTMLCSS report in lithuanian language and want to prewiev them in new window in browser with Baltic(Windows) encoding.
When I produce my report with RUN_REPORT_OBJECT and parameters REPORT_DESFORMAT=HTMLCSS and REPORT_DESTYPE=CACHE
I found, that my report is OK in cache with all needed lithuanian characters.
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=WINDOWS-1257">
    </head>
    <body dir=LTR bgcolor="#ffffff">
    </body></html>
    But when I open it with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT (MyURL/getjobid'||vJobId||'?server=<myserver>,'_blank');
my browser shows it in bad encoding for first time and every time I must set encoding manualy to Baltic(Windows).
That's will be very difficult for my users!!!
I found in source that another one HTML document stands at the begining of my document followed by my document
    <html>
    <head>

I think, that first docume[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

Sorry, my question was ower 1 Kb. My question is:
I am thinking, that additional document without META may be reason for bad initial encoding.
Am I right? How can I suppress this first document? Is there another way for solution of this problem?
Sorry for my english. Thanks for help!

  • Difficulties replacing some BC functionality with XI (refer to example)

<b>Difficulties replacing some BC functionality with XI (refer to example)</b>
I am transferring all interface processing from BC to XI and am having difficulties replacing some of the current BC functionality.  Please refer to my example below
    <b>Current process</b>
    <b>SAP R/3</b>
SAP R/3 executes an abap that extracts certain data.  This data is passed via a remote function which is configured to point to Business Connector
    <b>Business Connector</b>
Business Connector takes control and the relevant package does some internal processing then calls the remote enabled function BAPI_ACC_BILLING_POST
    <b>SAP R/3</b>
Control is returned to SAP R/3 to post the data and on completion control is returned to Business Connector
    <b>Business Connector</b>
Business Connector again takes control where some more processing is done to generate an xml version of the data prior to returning control back to SAP R/3
    <b>SAP R/3</b>
Control is returned to the abap immediately following the call to the remote function and processing completes
The initial synchronous call from SAP R/3 to Business Connector remains open whilst Business Connector executes a subsequent synchronous call to SAP R/3.
Finally the initial synchronous call in SAP R/3 completes
    <b>Proposed Process</b>
I am transferring all interface processing from BC to XI and am having difficulties replacing some of the current BC functionality.  In this instance I can set up the initial synchronous call via an XI Integration Process (sync/async bridge).  This allows me to perform subsequent asynchronous calls prior to closing the synchronous bridge
I have successfully performed synchronous calls to SAP R/3 from XI for different scenarios and have set up the XI design and config in the same manner
When I try to perform the synchronous posting back to SAP R/3 from within the SA bridge I get the message ‘Message is incomplete. No Sender found’
Unlike BC, it appears that XI does not allow me to perform the synchronous posting back to SAP R/3 from within the SA bridge.
<b>Refer to</b> http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/83/d2a84028c9e469e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm <b>for the SAP description</b> To enable the communication between a synchronously calling business system (synchronous outbound interface) and an asynchronously called business system (asynchronous inbound and outbound interface), you can define a sync/async bridge in an integration process. You can only define one sync/async bridge for each integration process.
How can I replace the current BC functionality using XI?
    Regards,
    Mike

    Hi all,
I cannot replicate the current BC functionality in XI
So I will take this opportunity to simplify and improve the design for XI --> R/3
    Regards,
    Mike
